I think it’s interesting when ppl do akira x readers in the context that he becomes a super popular rockstar. Most of the ppl that write are westerners so I can’t fault them for not writing accurate to life in Japan. One thing abt the East a lot of westerners don’t know is that their stan culture is toxic, parasocial, and borderline cult like in the way they worship idols.

I remember seeing a video by Japanalysis explaining how a weather woman, who was pretty and relatable, got a LOT of backlash for having a boyfriend. Japanalysis explains that this is common in the East, and it’s an unspoken rule that idols aren’t supposed to date, or at least be public about their partner.

Obviously, Akira isn’t gonna let some overly attached fans get in the way of him having a partner. At the same time, he’s a smart man; he wouldn’t want his reputation and business go down the toilet. So the obvious answer is: hide them.

A few ideas:
