Ok. So.

The original bodies belong to jin buyeon & cho yeong/naksu.

Then naksu performed spell to switch bodies but got stuck with buyeon in buyeon's body. So there's two souls in one body. Body of jin buyeon hosts two souls( jin buyeon & naksu) with naksu being in main control with no powers courtesy of the spell and /maybe/ buyeon.

Then death happens.

Both are saved by Master Lee who, uses Naksu's energy to save buyeon. This leads to the naksu soul being more in control while still being in control of jin buyeon.

On the outside, since naku's souls is the one fueling the body the original body shape transforms into the naksu's body shape.

On the inside, buyeon controls or well tries to but the souls are merging or atleast the powers are. This is mainly due to everyone else around calling her the Jin BuYeon, the divine princess of Jinyowon. And so this leads to the memories of naksu to be regained while the powers of Jin buyeon are given to her as y'know BuYeon herself has shared the same body so she has also felt and experienced the same things maybe to a lesser extent but she did.

So tldr buyeon wanted revenge which naksu also wanted so they worked together in a convulated way. THATS MY THEORYYY BECAUSE WHY ELSE WHOUKD EVEN BUYEON GIVE CHO YEONG BACK WHEN JANGUK AND EVEYONE HAD ACCEPTED THAT SHE WOULD DIEEE!!
