Jan de Vries maakt sinds deze week deel uit van het dagelijks bestuur van het hoogheemraadschap van Rijnland. Tijdens de verenigde vergadering van 11 januari is hij benoemd als hoogheemraad. Hij volgt hiermee de in november overleden Sjaak Langeslag op. De Vries neemt grotendeels de portefeuille over van zijn voorganger. Zo wordt hij verantwoordelijk voor onder andere de watergebiedsplannen, peilbesluiten en poldergemalen. Jan de Vries kent Rijnland goed. Sinds 2015 is hij vanuit de fractie Agrarisch & Bedrijven lid van het algemeen bestuur van het hoogheemraadschap: de verenigde vergadering. Naast zijn functie bij Rijnland heeft hij een boomteeltbedrijf in Boskoop. In de fractie Agrarisch & Bedrijven wordt de plek van De Vries ingevuld door John van der Slot uit Noordwijkerhout. De huidige bestuursperiode van het hoogheemraadschap is het laatste jaar ingegaan. In maart 2023 vinden de verkiezingen voor het waterschapsbestuur plaats. Na de verkiezingen wordt een nieuwe coalitie gevormd. Tot de installatie van het nieuwe bestuur, blijft het huidige bestuur actief.

In German music, to be honest, cause I don’t understand the lyrics so they don’t distract me from what I write. Actually, 80% of my work was made listening to Rammstein but these days, I fell deeply in love with @revolverheld and just can’t stop listening to their music (I’ve put some samples in my latest stories as you may remember).
