Solar Opposites: Mighty Solars The Movie Ch. 11
The next day, Miss Frankie is heading towards the metal detectors so she can take out anything magnetic. Then suddenlyâŠ
Miss Frankie: Wh-whatâs happening to me?!
Miss Frankie suddenly gets metal claws
Police Officer: Holy shit!
Miss Frankie accidentally stabbed the guard as she screams in horror. Next, Principal Cooke was about to head into the lounge to get coffee until suddenly he blazed there.
Principal Cooke: Woah.
Then, Ms. Perez starts writing on her board until the power goes and she starts glowing, much to her shock. Mia was getting coffee until she can through the wall with her eyes.
Mia: What the fuck?
Later, Kevin was gettiing mail, until he digitals in the house, much to his shock as he faints. Then, Randall is staring at a Blackhole, that he actually created.
Randall: Wow...
Then, Darcy is putting their own mug until she creates a Star blast as she gasp. Then, Jamie was reading a book, until suddenly he is on fire.
Jamie: FUUUUUUUUCK! IâM ON FIRE!
Darcy: gasps Jamie!
Jamie heads outside and drop and roll, only to realize he is unharmed. Finally, Sherbet is at a Junior job at a sweets parlor, until suddenly her hands starts fizzing grape soda.
Sherbet: Huh? suddenly summons scotch mints Oh fuck! Everyone take cover!
Sherbet then accidentally combine the scotch mints as it makes a huge delicious explosion. Everyone is splattered in a mess. Sherbet looks at everyone in a nervous regret and runs off in a fast pace. Later, the humans starts panicking once they meet up with each other.
Jamie: What is going on?!
Miss Frankie: I donât know! I got Wolverine claws but it wasnât Yumyulack and Jesse this time and Perez can glow, Cooke can blaze and Mia has x-ray vision!
Ms. Perez: Okay okay everyone calm down.
Kevin: Well what do we do?! Youâre not the only ones! I had powers like the movie Tron, Jamie is like a human torch, Darcy has Star powers, Randall can summon black hole and this kid here has powers based on desserts. We need a plan guys!
???: offscreen I have one.
The humans turn and sees the two hooded persons.
??? #1: How about we train you guys? To control your powers?
Sherbet: How?
??? #2: Itâs okay. Weâre friends. We have a training course. Come on.
Principal Cooke: You are? Huh, I think thatâs good idea. What do you guys think?
Miss Frankie: I say...let's do it!
The Rest: Yeah. Seems a bit shady but Iâll take it. Great idea. Letâs trust them.
The scene then cuts to the training course.
Sherbet: Wow. Thatâs big.
Principal Cooke: I know right?!
Randall: So⊠when do we start?
Cue the song, âUntraveled Roadâ from Thousand Foot Krunch:
The humans put on training suits.
Miss Frankie: I look ridiculous.
Darcy: I think you look nice.
Jamie: I know you always look pretty, Darcy.
Darcy: Aw. Thanks boo. kisses Jamie on the cheek
???: Okay! Guys, itâs time!
??? #2: Get ready!
The training montage starts. Miss Frankie starts balancing. Principal Cooke is climbing up while dodging wrecking balls as he yelps. Sherbet is meditating with cotton candy color lights flashing. Jamie busy doing twirls to keep his fire powers balance. Kevin is doing electronic tennis while trying to dodge balls.
Kevin: Oh shit! dodges balls Fuck fuck fuck! Aaaah!
Randall is busy trying to use his black holes right. Mia is using her eye vision to see through the right stuff. Ms. Perez is busy concentrating on her glowing powers. Soon, enough as the training progress, the humansâ powers abilities starts to feel controlled as they starts to get the hang of it. The scene then cuts to Darcy doing gymnastic right and suddenly recieved a super suit of her own. Jamie blushes.
Darcy/???: Wow! I look rocking awesome guys!
Soon enough, each of the humans receive their own suits one by one as the training montage ends. The other humans grow amazed by this suits.
Sherbet/???: So, how do I look?
Randall/???: You look awesome!
Ms. Perez/???: I always knew look the sun.
Miss Frankie/???: Pretty great! Ooh, we should tell Korvo and the others about this later! They will be surprised!
We then cut to the Solars' house where AISHA is working and is worried about Korvo.
AISHA: to herself Oh man, how am I gonna tell the family? I donât think I should do this. If I tell them, Iâll break their hearts. They are so happy with Sonya. I canât destroy itâŠ
Korvo: offscreen AISHA? Is everything alright?
AISHA turns around and sighs happily.
AISHA: Yes. Everything is fineâŠ
Korvo: Thanks. Iâll leave you to it.. leaves
âWhat Was I Made Forâ from China Ann McClain plays in the background:
AISHA then flashes back to the good times she has with Korvo and his family throughout their lives. AISHA sheds a tear, when suddenly she hears something digitalizing.
AISHA: What the hell?
Then, MAX appears while laughing as AISHA screams and backs away.
AISHA: MAX?!
MAX: Hey, AISHA!
MAX hugs AISHA. Then she sees the family staring in shock.
Yumyulack: AISHA, is that another you?
AISHA laughs nervously.
Korvo: MAX?! What are you doing here?!
MAX: Korvo?! Whatâs up?! Your sister sent me here to keep on eye on you guys with AISHA. sees Sonya Whoâs this kid?
Terry: Wait. You know the purple guy?
Korvo: Yeah. Heâs a prototype my sister made back in Shlorp. gasp as he smiles in tears Oh my God! Sheâs here?! What did she say?!
MAX: Well, she wanted me to tell you-
AISHA gasp and covers MAXâs mouth.
AISHA: laughs nervously MAX, a word in private?!
AISHA sighs.
AISHA: MAX, we canât tell them. Because we do, Korvo will dieâŠ
MAX: Die? He's already going to die without the spirit!
AISHA: I know! But if we tell them, theyâll be heartbroken⊠they have a new daughter now⊠we donât wanna risk ruining their happinessâŠ
MAX: But...
MAX then realize how serious AISHA is right now as he looks at AISHA sighing sadly.
MAX: Okay. But you must promise me we can tell him when the time is right.
AISHA: Of course MAX. We will tell them when the time is right. God, what have I done? I think I did the wrong thing MAX. Think about how Terry and the kids will react.
MAX: What do you think will happen?
AISHA: I think theyâll be crush if they find out. Mostly Terry. Korvo is his whole world⊠But I donât think Janiz wonât like if we tell her we couldnât tell them. Sheâll be heartbroken if I donâtâŠ
AISHA starts crying.
MAX: Hey come on⊠dries AISHAâs tears Itâll be okay⊠AISHA smiles
Korvo: offscreen AISHA?
AISHA sees Korvo smiling at her.
MAX: Donât worry Korvo, I was really gonna say, your sister hopes to see you again. When itâs the right time.
Korvo tearfully smiles and hugs MAX.
Korvo: I'm glad you're back...
MAX smiles. The scene cuts to the hooded figure saddened as MAX tells her what happened.
MAX: So they have a new daughter⊠and Korvo never felt happy before⊠we couldnât risk telling him.
??? #1: Oh God...
??? #2: But, heâll die if he doesnât know.
MAX: I know. But AISHA doesn't want Terry to be heartbroken...
MAX sighs sadly.
MAX: Even their kids too⊠and Phoebe⊠and their friendsâŠ
The hooded figure cries.
??? #1: This is all my fault⊠I shouldâve told Korvo before Shlorp exploded⊠sniffles I have to go after him. Itâs the only way I can make up for not being there for him when he needed me.
The hooded figure then removes their hood.

Iâve been seeing your posts lately, and as a fellow POI fan I must ask what are your top five favorite person of interest episodes? Thanks for reading this you rock!! đ
1: The Devil You Know
I have Morior Invictus tattooed on my leg. It was the first tattoo I ever got and far from the best I have but I have zero regrets.
If nothing else I hope I am remembered as a Team Elias fucker first and a human being second.
This episode is my absolute fave because it goes into more detail about Elias and Anthony's relationship and their loyalty to each other (parallel to what John and Finch, and Shaw and Root have going on). It's the first time we're really shown what Anthony is like outside of Hot Sarcastic Henchman, like the way he thinks and why he is how he is, and Elias being willing to risk his own life to save him after, for the majority of the show, being like "I'm better off alone", which is fucking poetic cinema honestly.
Plus Winston Duke and Jamie Hector are FANTASTIC, especially with the lieutenants talking to each other ("someday you might find yourself sitting in a chair that looks a hell of a lot like this one"), and Elias pleading with Dominic.
I really think those two were fucking WASTED in season four, they're both phenomenal actors in their own rights and they should've had better. I have, uh, a couple of fics in both my head and my WIP document about them. But we'll deal with those later
2: If/Then/Else
If/Then/Else is literally one of the best episodes, maybe THE best episode of television ever made. (It's kinda like my favourite v the best type situation, much like with The Thing v In The Mouth of Madness if that makes sense). It's got everything: action, time loops, love confessions, FUSCO
The other three are a little more difficult.
I really enjoy Number Crunch, Flesh and Blood, and Firewall in Season 1. In Season 2 my faves are God Mode, Relevance and Prisoner's Dilemma (Donnelly my love). Season 3 is Lady Killer, The Crossing and The Devil's Share. Season 4 is Pretenders, Asylum and YHWH. Season 5 is 6,741, The Day the World Went Away and Return 0 (with honourable mentions to Sotto Voce and Shotseeker because Elias, and QSO because Scott Adsit my beloved)
If you wanna pick three and ask me what I like about them go ahead but I'm struggling to pick between them haha

For Word Wednesday
Boat
Train
Plane
Car
Get ready my friend for what you have been recieving from me already tbh and what I am writing most of the time which is Roy and Jamie talking on different modes of transport!
Plane - from The Richmond Job Ch17
âBeard! Beard donât you fucking dare hang up. I canât fly a plane! Beard,â Jamie yelled but the other end of the phone was empty. He was on his own. His whole team was on that plane and Beard was relying on him to take control of the plane. Beardâs code was sound. He trusted Beardâs code but he needed to get that code through the Jet2 firewalls and embedded into the remote monitoring and then he had to land the fucking plane. Jamieâs chest felt like an elephant was crushing down on it as he frantically searched for breath. His vision swum as his grip tightened around the laptop. His dadâs voice swum in his mind as he tried to clear his vision, âYouâre thick Junior, ainât nothing wrong with that.â
This sprint got me 358 words on Ch3!!
Train - from Everybody Wants To Be On TV Ch6 (I say the word train at least 20 times in this chapter!)
âThis way,â the huntersâ voices cut through the spattering of conversation of those late to their train. They were already cutting it fine and the thump of running footsteps were getting closer and closer. Royâs arm was yanked to the side this time and they jumped onto the train ⊠the wrong train. âWe try and leave them on the train,â Jamie grinned. He muttered apologies as he danced around peopleâs legs and bags whereas Roy was much more like a bull in a china shop thundering through behind him. The hunters were about a carriage behind them. Jamie paused to wink to a kid that murmured âis that Jamie Tartt?â and Roy nearly barrelled him to the floor.
This sprint got 269 words for Ch7!
Car - from Are We There Yet? Ch2
âI thought you would be picking me up at 4am,â Jamie laughed as he threw his bags onto the back seat alongside Royâs. Roy grunted, drumming his fingers on the steering wheel. âI wouldnât have minded it as it would mean more time with mummy,â Jamie had noticed that Roy was not planning on replying and so carried on his conversation anyway. âAnd the roads would be quieter.â âItâs bad to drive at night,â Roy grunted. Jamie slid into the car and spun to face Roy with a tilt of his head. âWhy?â âItâs harder to see,â Royâs response was barely audible. He could have lied and made up any sort of reason but he just couldnât be bothered. He had already been coerced into this and he had already had confessed he didnât see too well at night anymore so what was the effort worth? Jamieâs eyes lit up, ok maybe there was a downside.
This sprint got 149 words of Roy and Jamie bickering in a car!
Boat - from Everybody Wants To Be On TV Ch8
âWhy the fuck do you have a boat guy?â Roy couldnât hold it in any longer. âWhy donât you?â Jamie frowned. He eyed the shelves before grabbing about twenty different pot noodles and cup a soups. They were going to be hiding on a boat, the nutritionist would be having a coronary but Roy would whip Jamie back into shape. âBecause when the fuck am I going to need a boat?â Roy growled, pushing the trolley along behind Jamieâs retreating form. âYou have a fake ID man, when were you planning on needing a fake ID?â âI assumed I was going to be arrested or need to go on the run at some point,â Roy shrugged. âYeah thatâs fair,â Jamie nodded, adding some canned hotdogs to the trolley.
This sprint got another 232 words in Ch7 :)

Part 1 VINCENT Chapter 1 (Part 4)
Once Marielle had towel-dried her locks, she braided her hair, threw on some black slacks, a tight-fitting tank top, boots, and a khaki jacket and went into the kitchen to make herself some coffee and dry toast. When she finished eating, she left out some food for Felix, her black cat, then took the subway to headquarters.                She set her cup in the sink before heading for the subway and taking it six stops down to headquarters.                At the front doors, she found Jamie waiting for her.          The tall, handsome young man with the dark skin and orange- and gold- tipped curls was grinning at her. If âfireâ was the first thing anyone thought of when they saw him, she was certain that was what Jamie was going for. He did have fire abilities, after all. In particular, his ultimate ability had given him his Agent name: Phoenix. He had the ability to create a temporary firewall and throw blinding flashes of light at enemies, but with his ultimate, Jamie could drop a marker and walk a certain distance away from it. Then, if he sustained any fatal injury, he would reappear over his marker, thus coming back from the grave. He called this ability ârun it back.â                He was leaning on the wall by the front doors with his arms crossed, a manila folder in his right hand. âHey,â he said, his husky tone already edging toward, âWant to go out later?â                Marielle loved his English accent, as did most of his fangirls. Jamie had been an actor before he had come to Valorant, after all. The flirting was a game the two of them had started not too long ago, a playful exchange on variations of, âWant to go out for a drink?â and âNope. Itâs not me, itâs you.â Both always chuckled at that. This was all in good fun. There were no real feelings there. It was just one of Jamieâs many ways of deflecting any of his true emotions, especially when it came to Marielle. She knew he feared her skills as a profiler.                When she approached, he removed a pair of sunglasses, revealing his deep golden eyes, then handed her the dossier. It was hot out, as August always was in California, and both of them looked like they were two seconds from needing a cold drink.                She looked down at the folder. âThanks.â She swallowed hard, wondering if she should open it now or later.                âDo you know what this is all about?â Jamie asked, leaning in a little.                âMy guess?â She opened the folder and showed him the photo of the young, dark-haired man in glasses. âChamberâŠâ ------- WANT MORE??? www.caliberbook.com

â âwhat am i, fucking five?â jamie continues the banter, flipping his earlier statement in on itself and tries to keep a straight face. his speciality, after all, besides setting up peopleâs routers and firewalls and removing virus from their computers, is being notoriously difficult.Â
he shakes his head dismissively when the man says he just got what was recommended. itâs really none of his business. if the guy can afford to live in avonlea gardens by himself, he can afford to buy a mesh routerâa pricier model at thatâand it shouldnât matter to jamie. itâs his money, his life.
his ears perk up when he mentions he studied nursing. âyouâre a nurse?â slowly, he turns his head towards the man, the judgmental look returning to his face. âwhat the hell do you need fast internet for?â he used to date a nurse. from his experience, theyâre rarely home. chronically offline, he used to call her. she didnât have time for him. he couldnât get clean. they broke up after four months after he made a terrible joke about him wanting her to be the one to find his lifeless body because sheâd know what to do with it.Â
"I can buy you snickerdoodles, if that's really your thing," he replied equally flatly, catching the other's joke and smiling as he crossed his arms and tried to give the guy space so he wasn't hovering. Adam didn't have a definite date ( yet ) of how long he was going to stick around, but there was no harm in getting along with the neighbors in the meanwhile.
The mention of mesh made him raise a brow. Again, something he didn't know. It felt strange to be so out of the loop with technology, when he thought he was pretty up to speed for the most part. "Just me and the dust bunnies. Why? Is that too strong? Not strong enough? I just got whatever was recommended 'cause you guys have different internet providers here."
Moving had been more of a feat than anticipated, especially across the country; Adam had the money to hire movers and obviously did, but it was the small things like setting up internet he'd overlooked and wasn't prepared to do.
"Keep asking me questions, though. I love not having any idea what the hell's going on," he chuckled. "I went to school for nursing, you know, not tech."

Whatâs My Agenda: the Future of Work and Work Technologies, or Work Futures
People tend to think of not knowing as something to be wiped out or overcome, as if ignorance were simply the absence of knowledge. But answers donât merely resolve questions; they provoke new ones.
| Jamie Holmes, The Case for Teaching Ignorance
[Note: This piece was originally published in August 2015 at Gigaom.com. I am reposting it here as a response to various inquiries, where people have been asking for more of a background on the topic of work futures. It has been slightly updated and reformatted.]
The central line of inquiry for my work as an analyst and researcher is the future of work and work technologies, or âwork futuresâ, for short. Before breaking that down, let me try to clarify what those terms mean. I will do so by asking a few questions, with Jamie Holmesâ observation, above, in mind.
âThe future of workâ is an academically-oriented domain of discourse, with a strong lean into new theories of humanist business management, and with closely related ideas of economics and organizational development.
On one hand, the intent of the phrase âthe future of workâ is obvious, just like any other âfuture ofâ, such as âthe future of dentistryâ or âthe future of the European Unionâ. But the reality is that the meme of âthe future of workâ has developed a strong connotation related to a specific set of progressive ideals about work, and an underlying implicit criticism of the state of work today, and the preceding era, as well.
âThe future of workâ is an academically-oriented domain of discourse, with a strong lean into new theories of humanist business management, and with closely related ideas of economics and organizational development. As a simplification, I have been using work futures as a shorthand or synonym for âthe future of work and work technologiesâ, and will do so for the rest of this post and going forward in general. In fact, work futures was the name of the consulting company that I created when the old Gigaom shut down in March 2015.
The growing interest in work futures has arisen as a central area of discussion about organization, management, and adaptation to new technologies, especially those which are based on the form and function of social networks and social media. This is an expansion and absorption of the discipline called social business, that started in the early â00s and had been drained of emotive force by 2010, principally due to the blur caused by vendor marketing that has drifted back into the âright information to the right people at the right timeâ vein, and lost the thread of a more humane workplace and the aspiration for people to find meaning and purpose in work.
The first wave of social business was principally an adoption of technologies like blogging, wikis, forums, intranets, community software, and various sorts of messaging. This was an early phase, much of which predated social networks like Twitter and Facebook.
The second phase of social business tech was more of an aspect of Web 2.0 era technologies, transitioning to software-as-a-service, and increasingly mobile. However, it was principally a desktop-based era, and newer solutions and practices have emerged which are much more mobile at their core, and less likely to be deployed behind the firewall on company servers.
Enterprise 2.0 was a school of thought that was strongly technology centered, based on the parallelism with the term Web 2.0. It was a school of thought that took the âtechâ side in the perennial debate about âwhich is more important, the technology or the people side of social business?â Andrew McAfee of MIT is perhaps the leading advocate for the term, but it has been displaced first by âsocial businessâ and now by âthe future of workâ and âdigital transformationâ.
Digital transformation can be thought of as an industrialization of the thinking behind the research and practice of work futures, building around the growing popularity of customer experience as a unifying metaphor for customer-centered business thinking in an increasingly digital world.
Just as fast as social business has been eclipsed by work futures, in turn work futures is rapidly being crowded out in entrepreneurial and existential management and tech circles by digital transformation. Digital transformation can be thought of as an industrialization of the thinking behind the research and practice of work futures, building around the growing popularity of customer experience as a unifying metaphor for customer-centered business thinking in an increasingly digital world.
Hereâs a definition I used in a recent presentation:
Digital Transformation: A new operating model of business â based on continuous innovation â by the application of digital technologies and the restructuring of operations around customer experience to better engage with customers, the company ecosystem, and the greater marketplace.
Note that the work futures content is buried mostly in the ârestructuring of operationsâ phrase, and the shape and tenor of those changes is in service to the need to get onto a digital footing in relation to customers. The focus on humanization and democratization of work in work futures discourse is shifted to customers at the center of the digital transformation weltanschauung.
I threw out the terms âentrepreneurial and existential managementâ above, and they warrant some unpacking.
Entrepreneurial management is the branch or thread of management thinking and writing that extols entrepreneurialism above other approaches, venerates start-up culture, and which advocates for the application of practices that have come from that quarter for other, and older, companies. This includes lean and agile practice, data-centered management, and valuing experimentation and learning over tradition and institutional knowledge. There is much to admire in entrepreneurial thought, but there are aspects of this body of thought that carry forward questionable practices from the past, such as the central role of consensus building which can lead to group think and the suppression of innovation and diversity.
Existential management takes entrepreneurialism and macro-economic ideasâlike Christensenâs disruption theoriesâand casts the challenges of business into a zero sum landscape shaped by arguments to induce management to operate through a sense of impending doom, that without new principles of business their companies will crash and burn. To the good, there are times when raising the spectre of a dangerous future can help focus attention, but this is easily overused.
I am not making light of the core truths of some of these ideas, such as the potential for companies to disrupt established industries or markets, as Apple, Google, and Uber have done, or the vast potential of lean and agile practices for business. However, the tendency toward hyperbole, and a deeply sententious, and sensationalist writing style by many in these threads often obscures the foundational value of the core ideas being expressed.
At the highest level, those exploring work futures blend cultural and economic criticism, advocacy for a more humanistic set of principles for the management and operation of business, and the scientific insights coming from fields like complexity theory, cognitive science, behavioral economics, and social psychology. As I said in a recent keynote, the shared premise of those investigating work futures is the application of new understanding about human interaction, motivation, and drive, and to embody that understanding in a new way of work.
In the months and years to come I will continue to explore and research the threads that make up the fabric of work futures, including these:
Tools for Work Communications: âSocial Collaborationâ, Work Management, Work Chat, Working Out Loud, and Workforce Communications â I will be closely observing the shifting landscape of the tools being applied for work communications, and the many diverging and competing theories of management that are buried in their architectures.
Culture Management â The tools and techniques being used to create an organization climate where higher levels of feedback and greater degrees of quantitative assessment of engagement lead to a better understanding of the sentiment and orientation of all involved in the workplace.
The New Social Contract â Iâve started a new series on Gigaom Research focused on the changing social contract: the operating premises that underlie the relationships between employees, management and the extended workforce of part-timers, freelancers, and independent and dependent contractors. The new social contract is also influenced by issues like diversity, economics, regulation, and the role of government and other non-corporate actors, like unions.
AI, Robots, and The Ephemeralization of Work â The rising power of robots, artificial intelligence, and algorithmic processing of data is leading to many occupations being taken over in whole or part, with humans having to find work elsewhere. This is one of the most critical trends in work futures. I wrote in the Pew Research report AI, Robots, and the Future of Jobs,
The central question of 2025 will be: What are people for in a world that does not need their labor, and where only a minority are needed to guide the âbot-based economyâ?
Fast-and-Loose Organization and Culture â A great deal of the smoke and heat in âthe future of workâ is about new forms of organizations relying on different cultural foundations. This includes the democratization of work in general, and the adoption of new approaches â like Holacracy â that rework the notions of business management. The emerging consensus is that organizations are moving toward lateral and bottom-up networks and away from top-down hierarchies. (Note that hierarchies are networks, too, but ones with slow-and-tight forms of communications and control.) Todayâs companies are becoming fast â agile, flexible, resilient â as opposed to slow â stable, rigid, unchanging. To become fast, you have to become loose: relaxing the strong ties of hierarchic controls. I will be tracking the advances made in this area closely.
Leadership and Management â Even management gurus have been suggesting that management has to be rethought in light of the changing conditions for organizations, today. Gary Hamel described the need to move away from bureaucracy in The Beyond Bureaucracy Challenge: Creating Inspired, Open, and Free Organizations, and asking the questions that will shape my investigations in this area:
Managing is largely about controlling and coordinating â the question is, can the work of managing be pushed out to the periphery of our organizations? Can it be automated? Can it be dispensed with entirely? Is it possible for an organization to be highly decentralized and precisely synchronized? Can you get discipline without disciplinarians? Are there ways of combining the freedom and flexibility advantages of markets with the control and coordination advantages of traditional hierarchies? Can we reduce the performance drag of our top-heavy management structures without giving anything up in terms of focus and efficiency? To what extent can âself-managementâ or âpeer-managementâ substitute for âmanager-management?â
Lamentably, bureaucracy lives on, where the few rule the many, and hierarchic management is still accepted as the norm. Entrepreneurial management is becoming the norm, but that may not be going far enough.
Innovation, Creativity, and Learning â Central to many discussions about work futures is the premise that increasing innovation in established companies is problematic, but unleashing the creativity of employees is essential for companies to compete and survive in times of rapid change. As a result we see a great deal written about practices to increase innovation, such as continuous learning, and the selection of people with certain psychological traits â like curiosity â as a precondition of increased innovation.
Cognitive Science â Itâs interesting to see that cognitive science has recently shed light on common fallacies about learning, such as the notion that we learn better by focusing on a single skill at a time (see Cognitive Science Upends Conventional Wisdom About Studying). Like that example, thereâs a long list of new findings from cognitive science that should have major impacts on business, management, and how we perceive behaviors at work: others and our own. However, much of these findings havenât found their way into the workplace.
Work/Life Balance and the Costs of High Performance â Recent discussions about the costs of high pressure work environments â including the buzzfest about the New York Times exposĂ© of Amazon â have brought the tension between âhigh performanceâ workplaces and work/life balance to the forefront. I will be at the forefront of those discussions.
Open offices, remote work, and the mobile workforce â A revolution has taken place in business in just the past five years, driven by the rise of mobile devices and ubiquitous connectivity, weâve witnessed wholesale changes in the physical layout of offices and the diaspora of workers from the old notion of working nine-to-five at the same desk for twenty years to a way of work that would have been unimaginable ten years ago.
Incentives, Meaning and Purpose â Moving past the extrinsic motivations of money and benefits, one of the major themes in work futures is interleaving intrinsic motivations â like meaning and purpose â into a larger mesh, in which human striving can be better understood.
Digital Transformation â Digital transformation is gaining greater weight as a result of growing awareness regarding the âdigital customerâ (which might be better considered the âconnected customerâ). The premise is that businesses have to basically turn themselves inside out to engage customers who are migrating away from traditional forms of media consumption, and are now connected at nearly all times through mobile and other digital devices. This is associated with the growing role of new marketing thinking â based on reaching the customer at all âtouch pointsâ along the âcustomer journeyâ â and the declining power of the CIO and IT. Companies undergoing a digital transformation often appoint or hire someone to act as chief digital officer, which may be a stint while the company is being transformed, or may be a replacement for the CIO.
You can be sure that I will be trying to create new questions, not just answer the ones I am starting with.
It is, I realize, a broad palette, and I am sure that I am setting myself a stretch goal to included all of these topics. On the other hand, considering how these topics inevitably influence each other â or better said, are inherently tightly linked to each other â it would be pointless to enumerate only a few of these and to pretend that the others can be ignored.
You can be sure that I will be trying to create new questions, not just answer the ones I am starting with.

Social Media (China)
Itâs been said that China have been missing out with all the social media revolution is that so?? And also, itâs been said that there is a different alternative of social media revolution in China.
One of the biggest social media revolutions these days are Facebook, based on Jamie from Make it a website Hub (2018), face book had approximately surpassed the 1 billion point of user account and it is the very first website who surpass that mark. Without being said that actually Facebook is the most used social network worldwide.
But, during July 2009, which is almost 10 years ago, Facebook has been banned in China. The main reason why Facebook is being banned in China is because there is a of riot in Xinjiang, Urumqi, which is located in a province on the western side. The activist from this province had uses facebook as a platform to communicate with each other, and the Chinese doesnât want it to happen again, so shortly after the riot, Facebook had been officially banned in China (Zucchi 2019). Other than Facebook, there is also few social media that re being blocked by China using their âThe Great Firewall of Chinaâ a system used to block different websites. This system is known to be one of the strictest censorship programs in the world. The main reason for them to put up this program is to restrict things like fraudulent, corrupt, or anti-government practices to be wrongly used in through social media platform (Zucchi 2019).
Other than Facebook, Google, YouTube, Netflix, Instagram and etc. are all being banned in China too. So, the social media that are being used in China are Weibo, this application or websites act as Facebook, Twitter and other socializing app where you can follow each other and update something. As for Google, the Chinese doesnât use google as their main search engine as what most of the country do. The main search engine in China is Baidu. And I had heard from my friend that had travelled to China few years back, he doesnât believes that Facebook is banned or other social media is banned so when he reached China and uses their Internet there and open his Facebook app the whole app crashes and also his profile also crashes and he doesnât have any chance to recover it since they will be staying there for few weeks. By the time he is back in Malaysia everything was too late, and he was forced to create a new account.
But when traveler or the locals really wants to access to all the blocked websites there is another way which is using VPN, but recently based on the SLC Team from StartupLivinginChina (2019), the latest update is that for people who uses Apple Product or iPhone, the VPN application that are available in the application store are being slowly removed by China to make sure there no one really can access to all this block websites or apps.

CyberTraining CyberSecurity
Working at a SaaS company that handles user data I often encounter many types of malicious attempts to get this data. Our work does deep training on Phishing and Smishing that I found this training to be entirely accurate to what I've already learned about InfoSec.
I enjoyed the password modules as it forced me to realize just how easy it is to brute force guess a password if it's too simple. I was happy to learn more about cyber attacks using social engineering like the phone calls that pressure you into sharing private information or strangers in the office using pity to use a USB to get into the system. These are the type of cybercrime we rarely hear about as regular internet users since we are not often as big of a target as large corporations.
I was shocked at the plot twist of Jamie being the one causing the cyber attacks because it made me realize how easy it would be to break past a company's firewall with a single employee.
Data is so important and it is the corporations responsibility to update and maintain their system so as to protect it.

Korvo crying out as he goes into labor while Firewall pulls the spike Lava Master threw at him.
Terry/Mighton: Korvo?! Whatâs wrong?!

Jesse/Fung-irl: WHAT?! Terry, you gotta get Korvo to the hospital! Now!
Terry/Mighton: Thereâs no time! Blizzard, youâre a doctor right?!
Dr. Weatherstone/Blizzard: Yeah, I am!
Terry/Mighton: Get a blanket! Quick! Tsunami, get hot water!
Korvo/Quasarblast: FUUUUCK! IâM NOT GONNA MAKE IT! OH! IâM GONNA FUCKING DIE!
Mighton helps lay Quasarblast as he starts breathing in and out and holds onto his husbandâs hand while Tsunami gets water and lets Firewall make it a bit hot.
Terry/Mighton: Itâs gonna be okay, babe. Just breathe.
Quasarblast screams in pain. Quasarblast starts breathing in and out but starts crying because he is worried about Vil-Gil-An-T.
Korbo/Quasarblast: I canât believe Yumyulack isnât here to see his little siblingâŠ
Quasarblast then breaks down crying because he now realize Vil-Gil-An-T is grave danger now while Dr. Weatherstone comes over with a blanket.
Dr. Weatherstone/Blizzard: I have blanket!
Quasarblast pushes as he cries in agony.
Korvo/Quasarblast: pushes TERRY! OUR SON! WE GOTTA FIND HIM BEFORE- breaks down crying as he continues pushing
Terry/Mighton: Find Yumyulack? What are you talking about?
Quasarblast breaks down crying.
Korvo/Quasarblast: crying My baby⊠my little sprout⊠itâs finally time Terry! Heâs becoming a super Shlorpian crying

Korvo/Quasarblast: GOD! IT HURTS! IT FUCKING HURTS!!!
Dr. Weatherstone/Blizzard: You can do this Quasarblast! Youâre almost there!
Korvo/Quasarblast: Shit! I canât! I canât! IâŠAAAAAAAAAH!

Terry/Mighton: Holy shit. Is that what I think it is?
Janiz/Ms. Quasar: gasp in tears of joy It isâŠ
Dr. Weatherstone/Blizzard: Itâs a girl!
A baby Shlorpian and new Solar Opposites is born. A baby Shlorpian girl. Blizzard wraps the infant in the blanket as she hands it over to the two superhero alien husbands.
Korvo/Quasarblast: Oh my GodâŠI did itâŠ
The baby continues crying as Quasarblast shed tears of joy and starts soothing his newborn sproutling.
Korvo/Quasarblast: Sssh. Sssh. Itâs okay. Iâm your daddy.
The baby then calms down as she starts cooing and opens her eyes and sees her daddies for the first time.
Terry/Mighton: Hey, kiddo.
Korvo/Quasarblast: Hi Lili⊠itâs nice to meet youâŠ
Terry/Mighton: Lili? Why that name?
Quasarblast smiles.
Korvo/Quasarblast: Because⊠sheâs looks like a beautiful lily that has sprouted with hope.
Mighton smiles with tears in his eyes.
Terry/Mighton: Lili⊠what a beautiful name⊠notices Quasarblast crying because he is still worry about Vil-Gil-An-T Oh honey⊠why are you crying nowâŠ
Korvo/Quasarblast: BecauseâŠbecauseâŠYumyulackâs in danger. We have to help himâŠ
Mighton puts a comforting hand on Quasarblastâs shoulder while Lili coos and falls asleep.
Terry/Mighton: Donât worry. Weâre gonna find him. I promise.
Quasarblast smiles and looks down at Lili. Quasarblast then weeps as he looks down at Lili, because it reminded him of holding Yumyulack as an infant for the first time. A flashback then plays of Korvo holding baby Yumyulack.
Baby Yumyulack: cooing
Past Korvo: Hey there.
Baby Yumyulack coos as he touches Korvoâs face.
Past Korvo: Oh. Arenât you the sweetest little sprout, Yumyulack?
The flashback ends as Mighton wipes away his hubbyâs tears.
Terry/Mighton: You really want to save him, huh?
Quasarblast weeps as he gently cradles Lili.
Korvo/Quasarblast: More than anythingâŠ
Lili coos which made Quasarblast smile in tears. Starburst then gets out a newborn sproutling hangar carrier and Quasarblast puts it on his stripper and gently puts Lili in there who babbles in her sleep. Mighton smiles.

Once you log in, you will be redirected to the Webmin dashboard, which provides basic information about your system. Login to the Webmin web interface using your root or sudo user credentials. By default, Webmin uses an untrusted self-signed SSL certificate. NOTE: To access Webmin Web Interface, open browser and type your serverâs hostname name or public IP address followed by the Webmin port 10000: Note that you may see that the browser complains about the certificate being not valid. You can also run the command to make things easier:ÄŻirewall-cmd -zone=public -add-port=10000/tcp -permanent Step 4: Open Webmin Port on Ubuntu Firewall.
Ubuntu 20.04 install webmin install#
Step 1: Update the System and Install Requisites Packages. Example: If the Webmin server doesnât respond, you might need to adjust firewall settings to allow port 10000. In this article, we take a look at how you can install Webmin on Ubuntu 20.04 and Ubuntu 18.04 so that you can seamlessly manage your system. You need to open the port in your firewall so that the Webmin interface is accessible from the Internet. NOTE: By default, Webmin listens for connections on port 10000 on all network interfaces. Once Webmin is installed and runing, you can access Webmin via the IP or web address you supplied or were given by the system. The Webmin service will start automatically. You can now login to as root with your root password, or as any user who can use sudo to run commands as root. Once all the dependencies are installed, the following output will be displayed: Sudo sh -c 'echo "deb sarge contrib" > /etc/apt//webmin.list' Just input or copy and paste the text below and hit Enter/Return: The commands below add the Webmin repository to your system and install the latest version of Webmin and all necessary packages. Sudo sh -c 'echo "deb buster main non-free" > /etc/apt//nonfree.list' On Debian, make sure that wget is available first: You can add the Webmin repository (webmin-repo) and use Jamie Cameronâs key to install and maintain the latest version of Webmin/Usermin.
Ubuntu 20.04 install webmin windows#

As I mentioned, for us RealVNC only has one serious competitor (considering resources vs stability vs cost).
#Vnc teamviewer download software
Compare the similarities and differences between software options with real user reviews focused on features, ease of use, customer service, and value for money. Other services that we have tested and considered in general have a huge latency and slowness problem. AnyDesk has 1017 reviews and a rating of 4.59 / 5 stars vs VNC Connect which has 100 reviews and a rating of 4.44 / 5 stars. Important points in our decisions about this: speed and stability, in RealVNC and VNC in general it is constant and depends more on your hardware and network configurations. This ubiquity of VNC is an enormous weight in decisions whenever we start a project that demands this type of service, precisely because it becomes familiar to our users and collaborators. Setup and Connect Add VNC Server to your remote devices and connect.
#Vnc teamviewer download install
You should check and install the RealVNC on you system.

Sign in/up Sign in or Create an account (and claim a free 14-day trial). Then who will send me the password for the access of teamviewer then only VNC can work. Connect to and manage TeamViewer sessions. For access to various services provided on virtual machines, such as Mac Virtual or Cloud VM, VNC is an essential tool already provided with these services. Download Download and install VNC Viewer on your desktop. Using RDP, VNC, SSH based terminals, S/FTP or web-based interfaces. For other intranet tasks, we always use VNC for embedded or free options - as they are occasional non-commercial uses. For example, we use TeamViewer for customer support, but the new RealVNC cloud has similar functionality, possibly we will adopt it next year.

Our built-in antivirus scanned this download and rated it as 100 safe. The most popular versions of the tool 10.0, 9.0 and 8.0. In usersâ view, the software has the following benefits: users like the interface, it is very stable and is simple in use. Without firewall/NAT (on a LAN/forwarding ports/or NAT passthrough/Listening mode): TeamViewer 13.1 is available as a freeload on our software library.

Guacamole is FOSS but I couldn't find any free service.Äą021 update: MeshCentral (and Remotely) seems good alternatives. This free software is an intellectual property of TeamViewer. Free VNC Viewer from RealVNC gives you instant remote access to your Mac, Windows and Linux computers from anywhere in the world. It requires Java SE version 1.6 or later. A program for providing remote access to a computer that allows you to control the connected device.

Till the End- Chapter 10
I am so sorry its been such a long time since the last chapter. This one just really had me stumped, then with the new year, and moving back to my apartment. Everything has just been really chaotic this last week. Iâm hoping to keep posting once a day at least though. No promises though.
Chapter 9
Doubt
A few weeks, nearly a month had gone by until the nightmare cube was ready to assemble. Jackieboy had gone to the Googleâs workshop to see if they had any spare parts that they were able to part with.
JJ spent most of his time working on the blueprints and figuring out the science behind it. He figured the best way for it to actually work was to add in a bit of Marvinâs and his own magic to keep Anti inside. Combining magic and science turned out to be more difficult than originally planned. One night in fact, Jackie woke up at 3 am to find JJ at his desk with the lamp on, working on the device. Wadded up pieces of paper had been thrown about and Jamie was obviously frustrated. Jackie tried to convince him to go to bed, but JJ was didnât listen. Whatever had him stuck, he was clearly determined to figured it out. Jackie had no idea why he was so persistent sometimes. Part of his personality he supposed.
Chase actually ended up being a huge help to the little tinkering ego. No one really questioned where he was going at 1 am, or where the high quality spare parts he always returned with came from, but they had a feeling they didnât want to know. He even helped Jamie come up with an idea for an electromagnetic fence around the cabin. It was basically meant to zap Anti to a location outside the field, so he could never actually enter the cabin again. He may not have caused much problems last time, but they were lucky then.
It was a gloomy evening, the snow had disappeared weeks ago at this point. Now it was back to the typical constant rainfall. It wasnât very heavy rain though. It was a light drizzle, like the sky wanted to rain, but wasnât feeling like putting much effort into it. Schneep found it annoying more than anything. Jameson found the sound of rain very relaxing while he worked.
Jackie was with him, since it was technically also his room, but Schneep was there too , just watching the mute ego work. There were blueprints throw everywhere. The corner of the room was filled with piles of scraps and spare parts. Jamie had separated what he needed with what he might need, and then had a seperate pile of things he couldnât see himself using at all. He still kept it though.
Schneep was sitting on Jamieâs bed, and Jackie was on the floor watching. âSo Herr Jackson,â Jamie glanced up for a second. âHow does dis vork? Ve can not let Anti know of our plan before we use it so ve really only have one shot at dis,â He asked.
Jamie set down the tools he was wielding and picked up a small blue notebook. Jackie gave it to him soon after he arrived, he figured it would help them communicate. He flipped through it and wrote something down, then handed it to the doc.
Schneep read it aloud. âContaining him is the easy part. Equipping the cube with firewalls and my magic keeps him in. Actually getting him inside is going to be the hard part.â
Jackie shrugged. âMakes sense. Heâs definitely not going to just sit and take it so weâll probably have to weaken him before we can get him in.â
Jamie nodded in agreement, writing something new. âHopefully Marvin will be able to find him so we can get the jump on him.â The other two just went quiet. JJ kinda realized that maybe he shouldnât have brought that up now. It was still a pretty awkward topic. Theyâd all gotten over the initial shock, but finding out someone you live with has a third eye does raise some questions. Especially since none of them knew anything about it. Even Marvin.
âSo are ve just never going to speak about dis?â Schneep finally said.
Jackie just shrugged unsuringly. âWhat is there to say? He said he just uses it for his tricks.â
âAnd it shows him visions.â Schneep pointed out. Jackie couldnât really oppose that. He had told them that.
JJ tugged on Henrikâs jacket, handing him his notepad. The doctor read what it said. âIt didnât really sound like he could control it though,â the mute ego had a point. Marvin was always a little timid at times. It was only worse whenever he had to explain whatever this power was.
âThatâs why Chase is helping his though,â Jackie stated. âSo he can control it and find Anti. And when he does,â He gestured to the machine JJ was working on. âWeâll be ready with the Nightmare cube.â
JJ nodded, going back to his tinkering. Jackie turned to Henrik. He could tell from the look on his face that his concern and doubt for their little magician friend was still there. Now wasnât the time to go behind each otherâs backs however. Jackie had to end it now because, as much as he wanted to see the good in Marvin, he couldnât help but share Henrikâs doubt. He trusted Marvin with his life, but when he looked into that eye, he felt like another being was looking back. It didnât feel like Marvin. All he could do about it now was hope to god that Chase can help their cat masked friend control his powers. He didnât want to have to fight two egos when the nightmare cube was complete. He didnât think he could handle doing that.
