lark (they/them)
after the attack on tython, jalaila dedicates themself to the rebuilding effort, and looking after surviving younglings left unmoored in the chaos. she takes a particular interest in a miraluka named lark who’s a bit of a handful--arguing with jedi masters, getting into fights w the other younglings, climbing all over the temple and hiding up where no one can find them. anyone who doesn’t know jalaila thinks theyre a terrible match for the serene jedi diplomat
but jalaila recognizes that they’re just struggling to deal with volatile force-enhanced emotions, just like he did as a youngling, so he helps them. (though their argumentative nature still gets them into trouble sometimes, especially during peace talks.... lark pls don’t start a war lark im serious)

funny thing about lightsabers is in all these video games you have colour crystals n shit bc ppl want to pick their own colour saber right? but in canon there’s just The Crystal, and it's more of a "wand chooses the wizard" type dealio
so i've decided every colour change ingame means a lightsaber that's bit the dust or been lost off a fuckin cliff or in a droid factory or whatever. and for nairoim, that's like. one lightsaber change, nbd. same for jalaila
RIA however must be known around the temple as the lightsaber menace bc she's killed like 4 lightsabers and counting

Riaksu Vyr (she), Gingeno (he), Jalaila Sindal (she/they/he)
with the ruins of 9 temples on tython, i like to imagine that swtor-era jedi trace the paths of the ancient je’daii in pilgrimages to each ruin. maybe it’s overly optimistic to imagine there’s much left at all, but i couldnt shake the image of baby jedi stumbling across carvings of ancient moving meditation forms, and following along
(gingeno belongs to @guingamor, the other two are mine)

there've been force persuade choices cropping up now and then in my consular playthrough; and ive been avoiding them bc i find them kinda distatesful. and i think that's jalaila's mindset too
but it also occurred to me recently that there's parallels to be drawn between this "plague" mind-controlling jedi, and other ways of mind-controlling people like using force persuade--it's not quite on the same level, obviously, and especially in the controlled ways the dialogue choices present. but outside of those ingame paths, one could easily get from there to using the force to control someone bc it's "justifiable" as long as it saves lives, or speeds the process to saving lives, or just plain convenient
and i think that when jalaila's really starting to feel the effects of all that force-shielding, when they're starting to feel drained and exhausted and just ready to be done with this, they almost use the force to just. nudge that jedi toward not opening the airlock. she's not in her right mind anyway, and it's to help her, what harm could it do?
and they reach out for her mind--and freeze, bc her mind's already in someone else's control, and, dear god, they're just compounding the problem, aren't they? attacking her mind just like the “plague”, pulling from two sides instead of one. so they pull back, and talk her out of it instead
after that their avoidance of the technique is almost more reaction than thought (revulsion)--they refuse to even use the force on enemies' minds, even if it looks to others like there's no other way out. (which is part of their motivation to be the best fucking diplomat they can be--they're adamant that reasoned discussion is the only acceptable solution)
#swtor consular#jalaila sindal#jalaila's first real world experience is with this plague and that's gotta shape his decision-making a Lot

also, fun oc fact: sindal is an early version of the name syndulla, the family line that eventually becomes hera’s!
#jalaila sindal#me#i dont imagine jalaila's like her direct ancestor tho: the line gets to hera through one of his many siblings

Jalaila Sindal (she/they/he)
new playthrough, new squad! jalaila joined the jedi at an unusually young age for this era: they started showing signs of force sensitivity very young, and by the time she was 4, her parents actually contacted the jedi themselves bc they were afraid she was going to hurt herself
so while he’s had a long string of teachers in his 20 years with the jedi, and training in as many areas as he could manage, he’s never spent much time away from the jedi; being immediately sent off with a republic trooper and a smuggler is a bit like jumping in the deep end on your first time learning to swim
(good thing they’re a quick learner)
dherren (they; left) belongs to @venndaai; jargis (he; right) belongs to @howardhill101

🖊+ Jalaila
jalaila spent most of the first 14 years of his life in the jedi temple on coruscant; she only left twice, once when they were 10 to spend a year training with a master on another planet, and once 6 months before the attack on coruscant
staying behind when her master left to help the other jedi on coruscant was more frustrating than they’d like to admit; he still sometimes feels like she should have been there, that they could have helped, saved more people. in the 10 years since, though, they’ve mostly come to terms with the fact that there was nothing they could have done.
(jalaila is also just. generally one of the more well-adjusted of my ocs, in part bc she NEEDED to be in order to keep his somewhat explosive force powers under control as a child: they’re pretty good at the whole “accepting but letting go of your emotions” thing, and even when shit starts piling up later in swtor, she has a good handle on things)
#i am SUPER SLOW with these but i immediately fucked off after reblogging the meme and then got a massive headache yesterday so ayy#ask games#swtor consular#agirlwholikestosayhi#asks#jalaila sindal

chart from here [x]
jalaila: has spent almost their entire life with the jedi; hasn’t even heard of flirting
riaksu: a little oblivious; when she likes someone she just shows a lot of attention and care
nairoim: has only ever seen sith and their old masters flirt; honestly thinks flirting is just a show of power. so they use it!
rahlin: a bit too career-focused for much flirting, but not awful at it
zayzi: flirts for fun or mocking people
saani: will flirt with anything that moves, she’s just having a good time
kadaiz: will flirt with anyone if it gets zir where zie needs to be as an agent; practised at using it as a tool, if less comfortable with genuine feeling
