#jake and mari don't fall into the two braincell trap because of kori's genes

So lowkey I want a fic where Mari and Jake just appear in Wayne manor because Kori sent them there for protection reasons and none of the Batfam knows of their existence and it takes like two days for Bruce to notice the two new additions. 

It’s not like they’re hiding at all either they sit with Bruce during meals, Alfred is calling them by name and has rooms all set up for them. The rest of the family is busy with cases so they’re not around to point out the obvious and Alfred has to get his shows from somewhere. Mari does make Bruce pause for like two seconds before he’s back to working on his case. 

What finally grabs his attention is that the kids call him, “Grandpa Bruce!” 

None of his brats use any paternal titles with the exception of Damian and even then he sometimes switches to Bruce’s name to get a faster reaction. 

Bruce finally looks at them and who the hell are these children and why are they in his house? And why are they calling him grandpa?!

“Alfred!” 

Alfred magically appears with the DNA paperwork. “Ah Master Bruce, I see you finally met your grandchildren. Meet Master Jake and Ms. Mari.” 

Bruce scrambled for the paperwork and in big red letters it says that Dick is the father. 

Jake and Mari are questioning if those stories of their father’s family being full of detectives is true. Because right now from Bruce to the reports they read over Bruce’s shoulder they’re pretty sure all of their father’s side share two braincells, and Alfred confiscated one for personal use. It really doesn’t help when their dad confuses them for new siblings.
