anw yall foreigners also dont seem to notice how been-there-done-that the plots are. indonesian horror draws on folk stories on purpose, for familiarity (then you can get scared BEFORE the scaring even begins!) but at some point its just. boring. how many of it is just some city girl (eugh j*kartan) moving to an ancestral haunted village house and the ghost is an ancestor who died in childbirth/had a child die. or classic spirits like kuntilanak or pocong (and you need to understand: we are VERY in touch with our spirits lore. idc if you dont personally believe in ghosts, you still DONT mess with them just in case. but the point is I Already Know This And I'm Bored). like yeah american horror movies are not original either but its doubly so w indonesian bc my bg knowledge here is extensive.

and yeah the makeup is bad so when the ghosts come around its like. yeah, ok, jump scare, surprise. but not scary. i can see yalls rough wig then i start focusing on that.
