after working under jumin for so long, it’s safe to say that jaehee is very familiar with what an unhealthy work-life balance looks like and now that she’s working with you she’s very intent on not falling into familiar bad habits — refusing to let work and stress get in the way of your relationship and doing what she can to ensure the two of you get to spend plenty of time together

having a cup of coffee together in the morning before opening up your cafe, making sure to leave work at the door when you both get home, dancing together to whatever song comes on the radio when you’re closing up your business on an evening, taking your lunch breaks together so you have some time to decompress during the work day, meal prepping as a team, attending new musicals together (both those featuring zen and others that caught your eye), going out on the weekends for proper dates, etc. — needless to say you two spend plenty of time together that isn’t related to work and she wouldn’t have it any other way

honesty

after spending all day putting on an amiable and charming facade for your customers or for attendees at the latest charity gala the rfa organised, there’s nothing quite like being able to go home, take off the mask, and be yourself with your partner — having the space to be frustrated or upset or exhausted without judgement, and being able to be there for you when you’re feeling those same things, is so important to jaehee and arguably helps prevent most major arguments because there’s no pressure to pretend and bottle things up with each other

bonus points if the two of you join in on each other’s vents, but she’s just as willing and happy to provide comfort and understanding instead as you rant about that one stupid customer who really got on your nerves today — anger may not be pretty, but it’s human and she’s grateful that you trust her enough to show her the sides of yourself that aren’t strictly friendly or ‘nice’, and that she can trust you not to judge her when she shows you her frustration in return

saeran is someone who knows pain and loss and grief intimately, someone who knows what it’s like to be hurt and used and to be made to lose themselves for the whims of another, and he will do any and everything in his power to keep you from experiencing the same things that he has — and even the smallest amount of pain or illness on your part (like a papercut or a cold) is enough to set him on edge and leave his chest feeling unbearably tight. this fear makes him immensely protective over you — both in the sense that he’d jump in front of a bullet for you, and in the sense that he will nurse you back to health whenever you’re unwell or hurt and will not let you do anything unsupervised until you’re completely recovered

you’re the centre of his universe, the love of his life, and saeran is ready to do whatever it takes to protect you and your peace from the darkness he was raised in… because goodness knows you only deserve the best

quality time

sometimes all saeran needs, more than praise and touch and gentle looks, is just to spend some time with you alone — ideally somewhere quiet where he can just exist with you without the need for conversation or outside entertainment. your presence in general is just really calming to him and he loves being around you, and knowing that you truly enjoy his company in return, even if sometimes he just doesn’t have the energy to do something extravagant or keep up conversation. sometimes it’s just enough for you to be there, with him and with the flowers in the garden.

whether its through his endless pranks and corny jokes over text in the rfa chat, or his so-bad-they’re-good puns and unexpected innuendos that always manage to catch you off guard, or his practical jokes that never cross the line of ‘too far’ and manage to hit just right, saeyoung always finds a way to make you laugh and brighten your day — even if that laughter comes at his own expense sometimes when he’s been a complete idiot

and having you there to understand and mirror his sense of humour means everything to him — because you get it and he doesn’t have to make himself smaller, or quieter, or blander, to fit into your world… you accept him as he is and even manage to use his own methods against him and leave him laughing until he’s in tears, and that means so so so much to him

attention to detail

seven made no secret of the fact that he ran a detailed background check on you when you first joined the rfa, and he also never attempted to hide the fact that he was almost always tuned in to the cameras in the apartment to keep an eye on you, so it shouldn’t come as too much of a shock to say that he knows you extremely well. so well, in fact, that if you didn’t know better it would be all too easy to assume that your darling hacker is an actual psychic for how well he’s able to predict and react to your moods and cravings (even, at times, anticipating you wanting something before you realise it yourself)

and he puts that knowledge to good use: surprising you with gifts he knows you’ll actually appreciate or trips to places he knows you’ve been wanting to visit, knowing what snacks and medications to keep stocked up in his home so you always have exactly what you need, reminding you of an upcoming appointment or birthday or anniversary that he knows might have slipped your mind, and just generally making you feel so understood and seen that it’s impossible to not want to smother him in kisses until his glasses fog up and his cheeks are a deeper shade of red than his hair

while he does start to game less and less as he gets older (veterinary work keeps him busy, after all), if you were ever to stop by and ask him to teach you how to play then he’s going to be jumping at the chance to share his interests with you — and he’s patient as hell, too, even if you genuinely do suck at the game he’ll just sit back and cheer you on until you’re able to take on an enemy alone and win (at which point he’ll be so genuinely proud it’s adorable)

yoosung is the ‘picks up flowers on his way home everyday’ type of boyfriend, the ‘buys your favourite takeout when he notices you’re feeling down’ type of boyfriend, the ‘helps you take care of yourself when you’re sick’ type of boyfriend, the ‘learns the new game you’re playing just to help you with a level you’re struggling with’ type of boyfriend, the ‘gives you his coat and freezes on the way home type of boyfriend’, and the ‘helps you revise for your exams and interviews’ type of boyfriend — and he does it all with determination and a boyishly charming smile because, to him, you’re worth all of that and more

and if you’re the type of partner who would do all of that for him too — who makes note of all the important dates so he doesn’t forget, who helps him clean his wounds after his encounter with mint eye without a hint of a complaint, who ties his ties for him before he goes out to work just because you can, who makes an account on lolol just to play with him, and who is there with him on those late nights during exam season to keep him healthy and sane — then he’s going to have to fight the urge to propose to you then and there

the rfa at the eras tour

this is entirely self indulgent LMAO but here's how the characters would be @ the eras tour.

zen would love the concert. while he may not listen to all of her music, he very much enjoyed the entire set and especially loved how happy you were to be there. probably wouldn't join in on any of the chants or trade any bracelets, but instead looks at you with a smile every time you do. definitely takes a lot of pictures of you, and taylor, and then the both of you because your matching outfits are just the cutest. his favorite era would either be lover-- he can't help but look at you throughout the entirety of lover-- or 1989, because the visuals and the sound just completely enrapture him.

yoosung would just be happy to be there! knows her earlier stuff, but doesn't really know anything beyond 1989. goes feral over the fearless era, and screams almost as loud as you along to love story. if there's a proposal at your concert, you can bet he'd be crying while witnessing it-- and also a little jealous that he didn't think of the same idea. poor boy almost dies during vigilante shit-- his face is redder than a tomato and he chokes on his spit as he tries to look anywhere but the stage. you take many photos of this.

saeyoung is almost as excited as you are. he lives for anything that lets him dress up. he sat there making hundreds of friendship bracelets for you, spent hours shopping both online and in person for the perfect matching outfits, learned every chant and every song so he could fully enjoy the experience with you. and he did! however, any video anyone within five feet of him took would be unusable because he'd he screaming at the top of his lungs. holds you close during the lover and speak now era and definitely cries at one point during the show. fills up the entirety of his phone storage with only pictures and videos of you and him or just you.

jumin is. not having a good time. LMAO this man doesn't like huge crowds like that, and doesn't know most of the songs and craves the quiet comfort of his home. however, one look at you has him relaxing and a small, soft smile taking over his tense features. this was entirely for you, of course, and seeing you so happy and excited was enough to quiet any discomfort he might've felt. doesn't take any photos or videos, but he'll let you pull him down for selfies. the only video he has from that night is the one you sent to him of him kissing the crown of your head during lover.

jaehee is just excited to be there with you! she's a casual fan of taylor swift-- she doesn't really fangirl over anyone that's not zen-- so she probably won't know any of the chants, and definitely won't trade any bracelets, but she'll happily dress up with you. sings along under her breath to the songs that she knows, and just nods along to the ones that she doesn't. really likes the midnights era- and especially vigilante shit. blushes whenever you hold her hand or kiss her cheek or sing to her during the love songs. she takes one or two photos.

saeran absolutely refuses to go with you at first. attending a three and a half hour concert with thousands of people attending sounds like his own personal hell, but when you go to ask saeyoung to accompany you, saeran finally relents. "fine!" he'll grumble, "no need to ask my idiot brother. i'll go with you." you...hadn't suggested that to make him change his mind, but. a win is a win! he doesn't do any of the chants or any of the bracelets, and doesn't dress up. (or, at least, he doesn't wear anything he wouldn't usually wear, but. it's looks pretty reputation era, so you're happy.) despite his grumbling and his anxiety, saeran really did love seeing you so happy and carefree. is surprised by how much he enjoyed the reputation era, and ignores your smug look as he adds the songs to his playlist later on. refuses to take any pictures or videos, and will only be in a few for you.

Don't Tell

Jaehee Kang finds herself frustrated as she lies on her couch, in the dark, staring up at the ceiling. The house is quiet, minus the occasional gust of wind that echoes outside of her house. Her phone lies on the coffee table, buzzing- probably notifications from the RFA chatroom, but she can’t bring herself to check them right now.

She’s coming off of a terrible fight with you. You, her best friend. You, the person who helped her start her coffee shop. You, the only other person who works at the shop every hour it’s open during the day.

And, you, the person she’s had a crush on since the two of you met. 

You and Zen are getting closer. Anyone would be a fool not to notice it. You and Zen got along from the moment you joined the RFA, but lately, Jaehee can’t help but notice how you rush out of work to go hang out with Zen more than you used to, how you constantly address him in the chatrooms, how often you or the actor send selfies of the two of you hanging out together… And Jaehee sees him often, too. In fact, Zen is one of her closest friends aside from you. 

Jaehee knows that she isn’t in love with him. 

Sadly, she has no guarantee about your feelings.

So, whenever the subject comes up, Jaehee strongly discourages Zen from dating anyone- especially you- using whatever excuse she can come up with. Dating is bad for Zen’s career. Dating Zen would make him lose his fans. Dating Zen would make paparazzi and journalists target you for tabloid stories constantly. It would be a lose-lose situation.

But really, she would be the only one losing out. Zen would be happy, you would be happy, and his true fans would be loving and supportive of his new relationship. You’re great people who deserve each other… Jaehee just wants to be selfish with you, though. 

Every time she notices you and Zen getting a little too close, she interjects, and there seems to be no real consequences for it. Zen says he’d love to date but that he sees you as a friend, you say that you don’t have feelings for Zen, and the chat moves on.

This time, things went down differently.

You lost your mind, flipping out on Jaehee, telling her that your romantic feelings are none of her business. Telling her that Zen can date whoever he wants. And then, you told her to give you space and left the chat.

To Jaehee, your over the top reaction confirms your romantic feelings for Zen. So, she lies on her couch and ignores the messages that leave her phone incessantly vibrating on the coffee table- at least until there’s a knock on the door.

Jaehee quickly wipes her tears from her eyes with the sleeves of her sweater and goes to the front door. Upon peeking out the blinds of her living room window and seeing that it’s Zen with two paper bags of bungeoppang in hand, she opens it.

“Look, Jaehee,” Zen starts, a little awkward. He’s wearing a leather jacket and a grey t-shirt with ripped skinny jeans and sneakers. Jaehee notices his motorcycle parked in his driveway as he holds out one of the bagged fish buns to him. She assumes he must have picked it up on the stand by his house on the way to her’s. “I think we should talk.”

“Oh?” Jaehee hums, as if she’s oblivious to what Zen is wanting to discuss, because she can’t stand to be the first to bring up her exchange with you. She allows Zen inside and shuts and locks the door behind them. “What’s going on, Zen?”

“It’s about… The dating thing,” Zen answers as he sits down on the end of Jaehee’s couch and flicks the end table lamp on to shroud the room in warm light. Jaehee flushes with embarrassment upon realizing that he must have noticed she was just sitting in the dark before his arrival. “You know how you’ve been telling (y/n) not to date me because of my career?”

“Yes? I apologize, Zen. I don’t want to meddle in your personal life- I’m just worried about your career,” Jaehee explains, putting up a front for a moment. But then, she remembers… Zen is the only other person that knows about her feelings for you. He is a good friend, after all, so she confides in him about it often. “And, well… Perhaps this is selfish of me, but you’re aware of my feelings for (y/n). But of course, you two deserve to be happy and-”

“No, no, this isn’t about me. In fact, the only reason I’m talking to you about this is because I’m worried that, uh,” Zen clears his throat as Jaehee sits down on the couch next to him. He pauses, takes a bite of his fish bun, and uses his spare hand to awkwardly scratch the back of his neck. “You may be giving (y/n) the wrong impression?”

Jaehee blinks and sets her own bagged bungeoppang down on the coffee table. With how angry you seemed at her in the chatroom, she can’t even consider eating tonight. Her stomach is churning far too much.

“What do you mean?”

“They totally think you’re in love with me.”

Jaehee blinks again.

“I’m sorry?”

“They think that you’re in love with me and jealous of them for spending time with me, and that’s why you keep telling them to avoid me,” Zen explains between bites of his snack. “I guess (y/n) and Seven had talked about it after you guys had that fight or something.”

Jaehee leans forward and holds her head in her hands.

The situation is even worse than Jaehee thought.

You think… That she’s in love with Zen.

Fuck.

“Oh dear…”

“So?” Zen questions. “What are you gonna do?”

“I have no idea,” Jaehee answers as she sits straight up and stares at the wall.

“What?” Zen demands, shocked. “You mean you’re not gonna tell (y/n) the truth?”

“I assumed they knew that I only saw you as a good friend.”

“Well, it’s not like you run around screaming it from the rooftops,” Zen shrugs.

“Does that mean I have to tell them the truth?”

“Not necessarily, but you probably should.”

Jaehee shakes her head. She’s potentially ruined your friendship by rejecting her unrequited (?) feelings onto you and Zen- the last thing she needs to do is go and dump a love confession onto you, too.

“Hm… Maybe not.”

Shortly after, Zen finishes his visit with Jaehee and goes to your apartment next.

If he can’t get Jaehee to confess to you, he’ll just get you to confess to Jaehee. The idea is perfect! The two of you will finally stop arguing about his love life (which neither of you know anything about), he’ll stop having to hear one of you in each ear venting to him about how your feelings aren’t reciprocated (they are), and most importantly, his two best friends will be happy and mutually in love.

But, when he arrives at your apartment to see that you’ve also been crying and sitting in the dark, he realizes that he’s bitten off more than he can chew.

Especially when he finds himself sitting on your couch and having the same discussion with you that he had with Jaehee- except, somehow, worse, because you’re far more stubborn and far less receptive to his advice than Jaehee is.

“(y/n), come on now, Jaehee being in love with me is just ridiculous,” Zen argues as he throws his hands up in frustration.

You sit on your living room couch with your arms crossed over your chest and a pouty look on your face.

“Is it really?”

“Yes?” Zen responds, flabbergasted by your insistence that Jaehee is in love with him and only argues that he shouldn’t date so that she can keep him to herself. “Her and I are only friends.”

“Just because you see her as a friend doesn’t mean she sees you in the same light, Zen,” You argue, and finally, something in Zen breaks.

On a normal night, he would never betray Jaehee’s trust by telling you about her feelings, but he’s so tired of watching the two of you pine after each other that he just can’t help it.

So, he comes out with it.

“Okay, I didn’t really want to do this, but both of you have put me in a terrible spot and I think if I have to hear either of you vent to me about the other not liking you one more time, I’m going to develop wrinkles from the stress,” Zen exclaims. “I’m dating Jumin, so I’m not on the market! Okay? Okay. And, if, in some weird alternate universe, she did like me, it wouldn’t be reciprocated. And finally, she’s very, very in love with you! You guys are literally like one of those Hallmark movies- coffee shop and all!”

You blink your pretty (e/c) eyes and uncross your arms. Your frustrated expression turns to one of complete shock.

“Wait… You’re dating Jumin?”

Zen groans and throws his hands up in frustration.

“That’s what you’re worried about out of everything I just told you!?” 

“Oh, right,” You pause, and then, a big, bright smile takes over your face. “Jaehee’s in love with me?”

“Yes!”

“Well, she’s not very good at making it obvious,” You chuckle.

“Don’t tell her I told you or she’ll never come to my shows again,” Zen says, covering his face with his hands.

He almost regrets confessing the truth to you. Hopefully you won’t go and rat him out to Jaehee…

“Yeah, don’t worry,” You grin, dismissing his concerns. “I won’t.”

“So, are you gonna tell her?” Zen asks.

You offer a shrug and a smirk in return.

“Yeah, I’ll figure it out.

Zen lets out a sigh of relief.

“Oh, thank God.”

Much to your surprise, despite the argument in the chatroom yesterday evening, you do gather the courage to go to open the coffee shop. Jaehee meets you an hour after opening, and the two of you get through the rush of customers grabbing their pre-work coffees whilst hardly speaking to each other.

It’s a little awkward. You can tell she wants to apologize and that she has something to say, but every time one of you tries to speak to each other throughout the day, you get interrupted by a new customer coming in wanting a baked good or a soothing drink. By the time closing rolls around, the shop calms down. You write a note, take it to the lounge, and stick it in her cubby.

‘I know there’s been a lot going on between us lately, especially after that chatroom the other night, but I’d like to make it up to you tonight and clear the air. I love you and I need you to know that- and I know I was mad but it was just a misunderstanding, and I get it now. Please, let’s meet after work and go grab dinner.’

You smile and turn to walk back to the shop to start the closing process, totally unaware that the note unsticks from where you posted it and falls onto the lounge floor. Minutes later, Jaehee goes into the lounge to grab a pen so she can take inventory, only to come out with the note in hand. You beam upon seeing her with it, only for your face to fall seconds later when you see that Jaehee looks upset.

Was Zen wrong? Does she not love you after all?

“(y/n)... I want you to be happy. If your happiness is being with Zen, then I give you my blessing,” Jaehee murmurs and pushes the note towards you. “I know this is for Zen, so… Please take it and give it to him. It must’ve fallen from your purse.”

At that, you blank- both overwhelmed by how sweet Jaehee is being, and pissed off at just how wrong she is.

“...Are you serious?”

“I’m sorry?”

“He was right? He was right,” You raise your voice and facepalm. “God, he must be so annoyed with us!”

“What are you talking about?”

“Jaehee, this note was for you. I stuck it in your work cubby- it must have fell off or something. I’m an idiot for not signing it,” You raise your voice since there’s no customers in the shop. You’re angry at yourself, angry at Jaehee, and angry that the two of you could’ve been dating this entire fucking time. But, you manage to calm yourself down enough to lower your volume and explain your feelings to your partner. “I don’t have feelings for Zen. I’ve never had feelings for Zen, and I never will. He really is just a good friend.”

“...Oh,” At first, the soft sunkissed color from Jaehee’s face drains. Then, it’s replaced with a deep, rosy pink. You can see the facts sink in; the realization that flashes across her golden eyes, the blush on her cheeks, the slight quiver in her lip as she struggles to gather the right words to say to you. “Now I’m… Rather embarrassed.”

“I’m really embarrassed,” You respond with a nervous laugh.

“I do love you. I mean, I’m in love with you,” Jaehee rushes to reassure you. Her face is bright red- even redder than when she watches some of Zen’s racier performances, even redder than when the shop is going through its morning rush and the two of you are working hard to keep up with the customer’s demands. “Though I assume Zen informed you of that fact?”

“He told me not to tell you, but uh, yeah, he did. Regardless, that’s not what’s important, because him telling me the truth is the only reason I have the courage to do this,” You gently pull the note from Jaehee’s hands, toss it into the trash, and walk back to her so you can intertwine her fingers with your own. Then, you slowly lean forward and press a gentle kiss against Jaehee’s lips. The flavor of coffee and chocolate mixed together stays on your lips as you pull back and offer her a small smile. “So don’t be too mad at him.”

At that, Jaehee flashes her bright, beautiful smile back at you and reaches forward to fix the collar of your shirt.

“I suppose I could never stay mad at him for too long anyway, but… Would you still be interested in dinner after we close up shop?”

You laugh.

“Only if you let me treat you to something nice for once.”

Jaehee nods, and with that, the two of you get to work closing down the coffee shop, your first kiss still lingering in the back of your mind.

“You know how they all are.” you shoot her an amused look, taking your spot next to her, “Luciel chased Elizabeth the Third around the room and she clambered on top of the presents to escape, then they fell on Jumin and Zen laughed so hard he turned bright red, then Yoosung tries to get him water and ended up slipping on a loose ribbon and face planting into the carpet.”

Jaehee sighs, and you sigh with her.

“I don’t even know why Mr. Han insisted on bringing his cat...” Jaehee huffs, lifting the mug of coffee in her hand to her face.

You watch as her glasses cloud with the steam, and how her wrist curves when she places the mug down on the counter as taking a quiet sip. You hear Zen sneeze from the other room and Jumin makes a snide remark about the beauty of cat hair and it takes all your strength not to roll your eyes.

Jaehee does it for you.

“I hope you enjoyed this get-together nonetheless.” she says, eyes meeting your own, “And...I’m glad you came in here with me. It’s nice to spend time with you alone like this.”

“Of course. There’s no one else I’d rather spend time with.” you beam, a smile bright and happy and lovely just for her.

You’re not sure how it happens, but you find yourself wrapped up in her arms and her in yours, faces pressed to patches of bare skin where your shirts don’t cover, chests rising and falling as you embrace. It lasts for one beat, two beats, three, and you feel your mind slipping into peace.

This is what it means to love, to fall into it and feel safe doing so.

“I love you, Jaehee.” you say, and it’s not a whisper but its just as soft, your breath ghosting across her neck.

They always live longer than they typically should as a result of how well you care for them, and he loves to see the bashful smile tug at your lips as you accept them gracefully, even if you always tell him that he “really shouldn’t have” or that he “didn’t have to.” He does it because he loves you, and he thinks someone as beautiful as you should be presented with something just as gorgeous every now and again (even if he admittedly thinks you’re worlds prettier than flowers could ever be.)

Jumin, who writes little notes on the corner of the napkins he rests your coffee or tea on each morning, delicate and elegant handwriting in black ink sinking so perfectly into the ivory material. Saeyoung, who folds little origamis for you when he gets the chance and leaves them somewhere around for you to find. So now you have a neat little stash of different animals, shapes, and otherwise cool-looking creations (all of which have silly, blank expressions drawn onto them as faces that really add a sweetness to their personality.) You like to sit and fiddle with them every now and again, just to feel the sharp edges of the crane’s beak against your fingertips or to split the little heart apart and see the “i love you <3” written on the inside.

Yoosung, who buys sticky notes for his studies but ends up using most of them to leave you little notes with cute messages and silly doodles. He likes to think this is a better usage for them, especially when he watches you spot one out of the corner of his eye, and you hold it in your hands like it’s some kind of love-stricken poetry from a wordsmith he knows he’ll never be. They might be simple and straightforward, but there’s not much room for stanzas of prose on these little post-its, and reminders that you’re doing a good job or that you look cute are so much more than enough.

Jaehee, who bakes you little desserts for you to eat when you get home, often heart-shaped or dusted in romantic colors, —always in your favorite flavors. zen makes no effort to keep his attraction to you both a secret and it’s such an ego boost to have him looking at you and very earnestly complimenting you all of the time — the whole ‘wolf’ thing is definitely true when it comes to him but thankfully he’s pretty good at containing himself when you’re in public

you have weekly dates and you rotate who gets to choose the activity every time — so one week you could be spending a quiet afternoon talking and laughing over steaming cups of coffee/tea/hot chocolate, the next you could be learning some martial arts, and then the week after that you could be going up to zen’s hangout to stargaze (it’s a complete mixed bag and you all love it)

you can't remember when your heart started fluttering around jaehee, or when just hearing her soft voice and even softer giggles was enough to have you blushing. and as time passed, it became harder to keep your feelings at bay. every time she entered a room, your eyes were drawn to her, and every time she popped into the chatroom, you immediately abandoned the conversation you were having just to talk to her.

you weren't the only one who noticed jaehee, though. plenty of men would ask her out; maybe they'd stop her on the street while the two of you were walking home, or maybe they'd slide their numbers to her once she'd made their coffees. and every time it happened, your heart would drop just a little more. these were attractive men, and you were terrified of the day she accepted one of their advances.

(one time, after a few too many glasses of wine, the two of you had opened up about romantic interests. she talked about the men she dated, about how they'd never actually satisfied her, about what she found attractive in a partner. when she had asked you about your romantic preferences, though, you lied. how could you tell her that men didn't interest you? that you found the glint of excitement in her eyes and the sound of her laughter much more interesting? about how you thought about soft skin and soft lips and soft voices much more than tough muscles and tougher emotions? you couldn't utter a word of that to her, and instead shoved the desire deep, deep down and locked it up.)

of course, nothing stays hidden forever. she found out about your hidden feelings on accident when she overheard a conversation between you and zen. mostly everyone- save for jumin and jaehee- knew about your feelings, and you'd taken to ranting to zen more than once. he was always willing to listen and offer advice if you wanted it, and this time was no different. you thought you were alone, but jaehee came home and heard you talking about her. "she's killing me, zen." you'd quietly admitted, letting out a quiet sigh. "i don't know how much longer i can pretend my feelings are platonic."

your quiet admission had jaehee weak at the knees. never before had someone spoken about her with such softness, with such love in their voice. you jumped when you saw her standing in the doorway and stuttered out a quick goodbye to zen as she made her way over to the sofa you had been sitting on. "you can pretend like you never heard that." you offered, voice barely above a whisper as you stared at your phone. fear was coursing through you and your mind was racing with all the ways she could react. would you lose her as a friend? would everything be awkward and stilted now?

you hadn't, however, counted on jaehee warmly smiling at you and moving to grasp your hand between hers. "i had hoped...of course, i didn't want to be selfish, but i had hoped you harbored feelings for me." jaehee spoke, her thumb lightly caressing the length of your palm. "i...i really like you." she admitted, glancing up through her lashes and chuckling at the way your head whipped up. "i just never thought i had a chance, so i...didn't want to say anything. didn't want to overstep any boundaries."

your free hand came up to lightly cup jaehee's cheek, an incredulous look on your face. "jaehee..." you breathed out, before leaning in and pressing your lips to hers in a chaste kiss. "i didn't...i would've told you if i thought i had a chance." you leaned your forehead against hers, smiling as she moved to kiss your forehead. "well. i'm all yours."

Jihyun / V

I think V would love Mitski. Just imagining him painting while my love, mine All mine plays in the background is so sweet. I also think he'd like cavetown, clario, Adrianne Lenker, Liane Flores and Tears For Fears. He often listens to it as background noise when painting or photographing but I also believe he'd practice singing using certain songs (and maybe sing you to sleep HSHSHS)

Jumin

Jumin gives me trouble because I feel like he listens to music for lyrics or lack thereof rather than sound. He listens to blues, jazz, classical and maybe a soft rock love song here and there. If he listens to a song with lyrics, he'll study them. He doesn't really listen to music often but when he does, it's often used as background noise rather than him genuinely indulging.

707 / Saeyoung / Luciel

I think he'd listen to mostly everything but especially synth wave, pop, new wave, rap, noise and glam rock for some reason. I could see him vibing to Depeche Mode one moment and then Fetty Wap the next. He would definitely unironically listen to wannabe by the spice girls LMAO. Also probably really likes tv show intros like iCarly theme or something. AND DISCO!! Seven dancing to bee gees when!?!?

Yoosung

To get rid of the obvious he'd listen to video game osts, pixel (I think that's what the genre is called?) and probably, here me out, pop punk. Or like Falling in Reverse. I think his favourite band would be the All American Rejects but I can also see him liking old demi lavato or Camilla cabello. Both basic white girl music and then randomly pop punk mixed in. As for gaming soundtracks I think he'd really like the undertale ost and probably listens to music through gacha life amv 😔

Zen / Hyun

I FEEL LIKE HIS MUSIC TASTE WAS EXPLICITLY STATED BUT I DONT REMEMBER RAHH okay okay uhm- !! I can totally see him listening to Whitney Houston, Abba, The Cardigans, The Beatles etc for some reason but also he'd feel self conscious that his music taste is too "old" so he would throw in shit like Kendrick Lamar and Future to spice things up and he would never ever admit that his favourite song is Angeleyes by Abba.

Jaehee

Bubblegum Pop, Indie and Doo Wop!!! Mitski, Girl In Red, Kinneret, Princess Chelsea, The Chordettes and The Supremes are frequents of Jaehee's playlist! She only really listens to music on the plane or in the office though. It helps her relax and take her mind off the stress for a bit. I can imagine her learning piano and playing songs like Johnny Angel or Mr Sandman in her free time.

Rika

Rika likes Melanie Martinez and i refuse to argue. She would probably relate really hard to some of her music and overall loves the way it sounds. Can also see her liking Penelope Scott. On the other hand, i see her liking classical or just soft piano music. Color me Blue by Akane would also be a song i can see her liking.

Vanderwood

Metal, Glam Rock, Glam Metal, Dad Rock, 80s rock just. Yeah. You get the point. Metallica, Journey, Mötley Crüe, Guns n Roses, Van Halen, Cinderella, Def Leppord and Dokken !! His favourite bands. Just classic 80s/90s rock for ya. Absolutely goes to their concerts religiously. Probably plays electric guitar as well..he could perform his own concert tbf
