Mabostiff is never alone, there will always be someone there with him.

After The Accident, Mabostiff would sleep basically all day long. He’s not as bad as he is in canon toh, because now Arven has actual help. Clavell and Jacq worked hard to make Mabostiff feel better and they somehow stabilized him. He’s slowly getting better everyday but he’s still hurt in a way both scientists can’t understand… Maybe, Arven thought one day, the answer is inside that book mom always talked about…

Still, he’s never really left alone.

Every morning, Houndoom brings him their toys, maybe this time he’s gonna finally get up and play with him…

Arven comes home every afternoon and tells Mabostiff about his day. He talks about school, about some new recipe he learned and wants to try and what he did with his (very few) friends.

Clavell sometimes needs to drag both Arven and Houndoom away or they would stay with Mabostiff the whole day and night (especially the first few weeks after the accident) But once the other two are asleep, he often go and sit with the sick Pokemon for a few hours at night. He checks on him and helps if he’s feeling bad or if he’s hungry and thirsty and, like Arven, he talks to him. He promises him he’s going to help him and that he’ll stay by Arven’s side now that the Pokemon is unable to. He doesn’t want Arven to know but he feels guilty as well for what happened. He wasn’t there to help his kids.

And if the next morning, when this cycle restarts again, Arven and Houndoom find him asleep near Mabostiff, neither of them say anything because it just means Mabostiff wasn’t alone that night

Dadvell AU

Arven really doesn't like not knowing when Clavell will be home. Especially as a kid. He's just waiting for the day where he stands waiting for ages at the door, only for Clavell to never come back, just like Sada did.

The one and only time Clavell was really late, Arven completely panicked. And ran into his arms sobbing the second Clavell got home.

When he's still a kid, that's not really a big problem because Clavell never leave him alone at home for too much. He's scared something could happen so he either call Jacq or just take Arven with him at work or at the store. Arven doesn’t seem to like strangers so babysitters are a big no.

When Arven got older, like 12/13, he told Clavell he could handle himself just fine and so he started to stay home alone more and more often but Clavell always tells him when he's going to come back and he's always in time.

One day he wasn't toh

There was a lot of work at the lab that day, he didn't expect so many things to analyze and he wasn't able to tell Arven.

Instead of 8:30 pm he came back at 9:15 pm and Arven was an anxious mess.

He tried to call Clavell a couple of times but Clavell was too busy and didn't hear the phone. Arven thought something happened, an accident at the lab or on the way home. Or maybe, the boy thought, he left like mom and dad.

When Clavell opened the door Arven just ran to him, yelling at him and asking why the heck he had not answered his calls and why he was so late, Maschiff right behind him and just as worried as the boy.
