Thank you for the support ! Please request for part 4 ! Also doesn’t Jackson look so hot like HELLO ?? Not proof read yet!
A loud bang woke him up; the sunlight coming through his window blinded him as he opened his eyes; it took a few seconds for him to realise.
The morning arrived slowly, the pale light filtering through the thin curtains. Your shoulder throbbed, pulling you out of sleep like an anchor. The dream—no, nightmare—lingered at the edges of your mind: the cold air clinging to your skin, the scent of wet earth and leaves, those yellow, slitted eyes watching from the dark.
You groaned, shifting onto your side, but the movement sent a sharp pulse of pain shooting through your arm, travelling all the way down to your fingertips. The ache was relentless, like something festering beneath your skin.
Dragging yourself to the mirror, you peeled off your shirt. The bruise had spread overnight—dark veins curling outward from the centre, spidering across your shoulder like cracks in the glass. It looked swollen and angry, almost as if it were growing, spreading with every heartbeat.
You brushed your fingers along the edge, hissing as pain jolted through you. The skin was feverish—hot to the touch, like it didn't belong to you anymore. There was something wrong with it, something alive.
You grabbed your shirt from the floor and tugged it back on, wincing as the fabric scraped over the bruise. It felt like the weight of the bruise had sunk into your bones, dragging you down.
Your phone buzzed from the nightstand, Maria's name flashing across the screen.
"Still alive? Or has Creepyville swallowed you whole?"
A slight, tired grin tugged at the corners of your mouth. "Barely. Already having nightmares."
Her reply was instant: "Werewolf nightmares? Please say yes."
"Just weird pain. No claws yet."
"Lame. If you grow claws, send pics immediately," she wrote.
Her humour cut through some of the weight pressing on your chest, though the ache in your shoulder refused to ease. You slipped on your shoes, grabbed your bag, and headed out the door.
The drive to school was uneventful. Beacon Hills stretched out in front of you, all quiet streets and thick woods, the kind of place that looked normal on the surface but felt... off. The bruise on your shoulder throbbed with every turn of the steering wheel, and by the time you pulled into the parking lot, you were ready to crawl back into bed.
The school building loomed ahead, old bricks and rusted metal, students milling around in clumps. You slipped through the crowd, blending in with the chaos, your hood pulled low over your face.
When you slid into your seat in AP Biology, Stiles grinned at you from across the table, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
"You look like death," he whispered. "Let me guess—rough night, or did you finally meet our resident monster?"
You rolled your eyes. "Something like that."
Stiles leaned closer, his breath warm against your ear. "Careful. Beacon Hills has a way of... finding people."
You shot him a sceptical look. "And you're, what? The local monster expert?"
He grinned. "Something like that. Stick with me—I'll keep you safe."
You snorted despite yourself. "Safe from what, exactly?"
"From everything," Stiles said, as if that explained anything. "Besides, you seem like the brooding, mysterious type. You and I? We're going to get along just fine."
Before you could respond, Mr. Harris began the lecture, pacing in front of the whiteboard.
"Today, we're discussing genetic mutations—small changes that can significantly impact an organism's structure," he announced.
The words settled uncomfortably in your chest. The bruise on your shoulder pulsed, almost like it was trying to remind you of something.
"Some mutations are beneficial," Harris continued, "but others..." He trailed off, glancing around the room. "Well, not every change is for the better."
Stiles leaned over again, whispering, "Feeling mutated yet?"
"Not yet," you muttered, rubbing absently at your shoulder. "Give it time."
Class dragged on, each minute heavier than the last. By the time the bell rang, the ache in your shoulder had spread, wrapping around your muscles like a vice. You followed the stream of students out into the hallway, your steps slower, heavier.
The locker room was warm and humid, the scent of sweat and damp tile hanging in the air. You pulled off your hoodie with a sigh, wincing as the fabric scraped over the bruise.
The door swung open, and Jackson Whittemore walked in, shirt already gone, his presence filling the room like a storm waiting to break.
Every movement was deliberate and controlled, his muscles shifting beneath smooth, tanned skin. His scent—woodsy, with just a hint of spice—wrapped around you, clinging to the steam-filled air.
He glanced at your shoulder, and for a moment, the smirk slipped from his face. Something flickered in his expression—curiosity, maybe concern—but it vanished as quickly as it appeared.
"That looks bad," Jackson murmured, stepping closer.
"It's fine," you muttered, though the words felt empty.
Jackson didn't move away. He stood close, too close, his shoulder brushing against yours. His presence was heavy, magnetic like gravity pulling you in.
Without a word, his hand rose, his fingers grazing the edge of the bruise. The light and deliberate touch sent a shiver down your spine that had nothing to do with the pain.
"You should get that checked out," Jackson whispered, his thumb tracing slow circles along the bruise.
"I'll live," you whispered back, though your pulse hammered in your chest.
For a moment, the air between you buzzed with unspoken tension, thick and electric.
Jackson's thumb pressed harder, dragging across your skin in a way that made your breath hitch. His gaze flicked to your lips, lingering long enough to make your heart stutter - even if only for a second.
"You should stay away from people like me," Jackson murmured, though the way his thumb lingered told a different story.
His breath was warm against your neck, his scent filling every corner of your mind. For a second, it felt like he might close the distance between you, his gaze dark and intent.
"Like I said," Jackson whispered, "it would be safer for you if you stayed away."
"Well past safe and saving," you murmured.
Jackson chuckled, the sound vibrating in your bones. "Is that so." He whispered into your ear, his breath tickling your neck, sending a shiver down your spine.
But neither of you moved, and the air crackled with anticipation.
It was dangerous, reckless, and utterly stupid. You knew it would end badly, but Jackson was magnetic, irresistible, like gravity pulling you closer and closer, and you would do anything to get your mind off the pain.
Your bodies were almost touching, just a hair's breadth away, the tension between you thick and electric. Jackson's breath was warm against your neck, his scent filling every corner of your mind as he gently placed his hand on your waist, his thumb gently stroking the exposed skin.
The hot water blasting from the showers onto you was the only sound you could hear; the warmth was comforting, making you feel less alone, like someone else was there with you, protecting you from whatever was outside.
The water dripped off your skin, the warmth enveloping your body.
You couldn't help but wonder how this boy did what everyone else had failed, making you want him - even if just in the moment.
"What are you doing?" You whispered, though you already knew the answer.
"Whatever I want," Jackson murmured, his lips brushing against your ear.
Your breath caught in your throat, his words sending a shiver down your spine. He pressed closer, his skin burning hot against yours. His hand trailed lower, his thumb grazing your v-line.
"Are you going to stop me?" Jackson asked, his voice low and dangerous.
"No," you whispered.
Jackson's breath was warm against your neck, his scent filling every corner of your mind as he gently placed itself on your waist, his thumb gently stroking the exposed skin.
You were trapped between the wall and his body, his hands roaming freely over your bare skin.
"Good," Jackson growled, his voice vibrating against your neck.
His lips brushed against your ear, his breath on your neck as he began to gently kiss your neck, his hands slowly moving downwards.
Your hands wandered down his muscular torso, exploring his body.
"I didn't think you'd actually want this," Jackson whispered, his voice thick with desire.
Jackson let out a low chuckle, his lips trailing down your neck.
"Who said I did?" you replied. However, you couldn't stop your body from responding, your arms instinctively snaking over his neck, drawing him closer.
"I know you do," Jackson murmured. "I can smell it on you."
The words sent a shiver down your spine, your breath hitching as his hand slid lower, hands squeezing your ass, pulling you flush against him.
A cough interrupted the moment. Both of you turned to see Stiles standing in the doorway, his face a mixture of surprise and annoyance.
"Sorry," Stiles said, though his tone didn't match his words.
Jackson stepped back, leaving you buzzing from the ghost of his touch, glancing before leaving you alone with the buzz-cut boy.
"Stiles, It's not what it looks like."
"Yeah, right. Whatever, man," Stiles muttered, though his tone didn't match his words.
Stiles couldn't help but wonder why all the hot guys were attracted to Y/N; he didn't mean that he had a crush; hell no, he's not that desperate; he's not gonna be the 4th wheel. But something about Y/N did intrigue him.
"Stiles, wait," Y/N called, running after the buzz-cut.
"What?" Stiles snapped, though he instantly regretted his harsh tone.
Y/N looked taken aback, his eyes wide and confused.
"Nothing," Y/N mumbled, looking away. Stiles was only just starting to notice the massive bruise on his shoulder, feeling a bit bad for snapping.
"No, I didn't mean—sorry, I just meant...look, I get it, okay? You and Jackson. And whatever. It's fine," Stiles said, his voice softer now, but you REALLY should stay away from him.
As Stiles completed that sentence, he noticed something else: Y/N was very … naked; a blush crept up his face as he turned around to leave - still upset by what he saw - he wanted to ask about the bruise…he wanted to worry, but it was just not the moment.
The ache in your shoulder followed you out of the locker room, heavier now, as if the memory of Jackson's touch had settled beneath your skin.
Later that evening, you made your way to the hospital; it felt colder than usual, the sterile scent of antiseptic cutting through the warmth that still clung to you from the locker room - Y/N would never admit it. Still, that little random thing greatly distracted him from his shoulder - and y/n was grateful.
Y/N mentally prepared himself to speak to his mother and "explain" the 2-foot bruise spanning his body as he walked to the reception.
Y/N: Hello, I'm looking for Addison Shepherd, I was wondering if you knew where I could find her
Nurse: Hi. Are you sure you have an appointment with her?
Y/N: No, I'm her son, Y/N. I was hoping to speak to her if she's free
One thing Y/N never hated about himself was that his formal, polite social self could kick in no matter the situation…or the pain - while really, somewhere deep down, he wondered what made him such an excellent liar.
Nurse: She's in surgery; she'll be done in about 40 minutes; maybe you can wait? Oh, and also Y/N? You're Scott's new friend, right? I had no idea Dr.Shepherd was your mother! We're all so happy to have a woman of her calibre working with us.
Y/N Forced a smile instinctively.
Y/N: Haha, I'm so glad to hear that! She was a bit nervous about her first day here… oh, how do you know Scott?
Nurse: Oh well, he's my so—
Person: That's Scott's Mom
… the sudden answer caught both the nurse and Y/N off guard as Y/n turned towards the exceedingly familiar annoying voice.
Nurse: Jesus, when did you get here? You need to stop sneaking up like that.
Stiles: Awww … but it's my signature move.
The buzz-cut boy said, grinning and making a pouty face, to which Y/N just shot a weirded-out look that said… "Ew… grow up."
(Author's Note: Scott McCall's mother's name is Melissa McCall)
Nurse: Anyway, I'm Melissa, Scott's mom. I'm glad to see that you're running about making friends so soon already
The lady said, smiling politely, a smile which racked Y/N with guilt as he didn't really consider the odd duo his friends… it's not that Scott and Stiles weren't great. It's just that, in Y/N's life, he grew to associate the term friendship with a relatively close and protective personal bond…Scott and Stiles…?….they were just… classmates.
Stiles: Well, of course, he's making friends already. Look at the great crowd he hangs out with!
Stiles said excitedly, pointing to himself, a gesture that simply made Y/N feel worse for not considering him a friend…
Y/N tried, but despite being an excellent liar, he couldn't match Stiles' enthusiastic tone when he replied to the boy, which was something Melissa was quick to catch.
Y/N knew Melissa noticed it and quickly changed the topic of conversation.
"Oh, by the way, how come you're at the hospital ?" Y/N asked Stiles while shooting him a questioning look.
Internally dreading that he was stuck in this conversation after a highly awkward morning with Stiles.
Stiles: My dad is the sheriff; Scott and I are waiting for him here.
Melissa: Scott's here?
Stiles: Yep, he's in the cafeteria
Melissa: Oh, I should say hi, I'll see you two boys later. Stay safe!
Stiles and Y/N waved her goodbye.
After she left, stiles turned around.
"So are we gonna talk about what happened, or— Am I Pretending that I never saw you naked in the locker room with Jackson Whittemore?" Stiles asked you sarcastically.
Y/N couldn't quite figure out why Stiles would bring it up? After he already made it clear, nothing really happened. Was he upset? Was he mocking him? Either way, Y/N was not in the mood.
Stiles: Uh, Too soon to joke about it?
Y/N: …
Stiles: Got it. So what happened with the, you know…bruise the size of Texas.
Y/N: Why the hell are you so nosy?
Stiles: Because it's the size of Texas?
Y/N: …
Stiles: okay! Wow, you are not in the mood
Y/N: It's been a day.
Stiles: Right.
The two boys fell silent, the air between them heavy and awkward. Y/N shifted his weight, and the bruise on his shoulder ached with every movement.
Stiles couldn't help but keep glancing at it. As if he could see the bruise through your clothes.
"It's fine," you murmured.
"Really? Because it looks—"
"Fine," you interrupted.
Stiles frowned. "If you say so."
Y/N didn't answer, and the air between you crackled with tension.
Stiles shuffled awkwardly; not knowing what to say, he decided to 'wing it.'
"Okay," Stiles said, breaking the silence. "Then tell me about you.
"What?" you asked, justifiably confused by his statement.
"Because that's what people do. They talk about themselves," Stiles replied, grinning.
"I don't."
"Why?"
"Why are you asking me all these questions?" Y/N shot back.
Stiles shrugged. "I'm bored."
You rolled your eyes, though you couldn't hide the slight smile tugging at the corners of your lips.
"So. You moved from LA. What was that like?" Stiles asked.
"Hot," you replied, deadpan.
Stiles snorted. "Yeah, I bet. Must've been a big change, though."
"Not really," you said, though the words felt empty.
Stiles cocked an eyebrow, but he didn't press. "Okay. What did you do there?"
"Stuff."
"Omg, no shit, really? Fascinating… ." Stiles shot a look at you.
"I'm not much of a social bee personally."
—silence—
When Y/N said "he's not a talker", he did it to try and justify why he said the word "stuff" so vaguely; since he isn't used to talking so much personally in informal social settings, it didn't come easy to him to always respond in the most appropriate ways in personal conversations - But unfortunately what it came off as to Stiles was…I really, really don't wanna be talking to you."
Stiles looked a little taken aback by what Y/N said - essentially misunderstanding the meaning as "stop talking to me" - when the truth was actually quite the opposite, and the truth is that Y/N was Just slowly actually getting used to the sarcasm and constant state of "joking-need" enjoying the little conversation, he found himself wanting to get annoyed by Stiles stupid quips - it was a new feeling for Y/N, one that scared him a bit.
With a hint of sadness, giving up on speaking to you, Stiles got up from the creaky waiting room couch, "Uhm, anyway, I think I go," he said, almost coldly, turning and leaving, giving a small wave.
Y/N couldn't help but watch the boy walk away, a strange emptiness filling his chest.
(Author's note: SOS GUYS SEND HELP. I DON'T KNOW WHERE THIS IS GOING; I'M JUST WRITING AS IT COMES TO ME LIKE I'M POSSESSED BY THE FANFIC GHOST)
An arm rested on his shoulder before Y/N could spiral into his thoughts and emotions.
He looked up, his mother standing before him, a soft expression on her face.
"Mom," you murmured.
"You know, it's never good when you come to see me at work," she said, her voice gentle.
"I'm sorry."
Addison sighed. "Don't apologise. Come, I'll show you my new office."
Y/N followed her through the labyrinthine halls, past doctors, nurses and patients.
As Y/N walked through the cafeteria, he saw a familiar buzz-cut, accompanied by his taller, athletic, crooked-jaw friend and Melissa.
They were having a light and carefree conversation, smiling and laughing, and the air between them was calm and comfortable. That was until Stiles' eyes met y/n's.
Suddenly, everything froze as if time itself had stopped. For a second, all Y/N could hear was the sound of his own heartbeat echoing in his ears. All he could see was the look on Stiles' face—that mixture of surprise and hurt, his mouth open slightly, as if he was going to say something, say hi.
But y/n didn't give him a chance. He didn't like how Stiles made him feel so on edge and overly concerned for someone he hadn't considered a friend; he wasn't used to feeling so...restless.
Without a word, y/n turned and walked away, the ache in your shoulder heavier than before, his gaze lingering like a ghost on your skin.
— Stiles — POV—
I think he really hates me, Stiles thought to himself as Y/N coldly walked by.
"Oh, there's Y/N and his mom, too, Scott. Why don't you go invite Y/N over for dinner tonight ?" Melissa chimed in, noticing both the boys look towards y/n.
Scott: I mean, sure, but what if he says no?
Melissa: he seems like a nice guy, and his mother is right there; I doubt you'll get a no.
Stiles: Oh, I'm so coming too. Where's my invite?
Melissa: Coming? Coming where you already basically live in my house
Stiles: Are you asking me to move in? <3
Scott: NO, NO, SHE IS NOT, AND you can come. I'll go ask Y/N.
Stiles watched Scott follow Y/N out of the cafeteria as they turned the hallway, wondering what the boy would do. Would he casually approach the man and ask him, or would he just stand awkwardly?
Scott saw Y/N enter an office and start stalking; not wanting to interrupt, he decided to wait outside the room; though he felt like he was eavesdropping because of his werewolf super hearing, it just couldn't be helped; he couldn't really "turn it off" on a whim.
Y/N's POV —
After walking out of the cafeteria, I sighed deeply, which made my mother shoot me a questioning look.
"I'm just tired, the packing, the moving, the having no social battery left, nothing out of the ordinary." I quickly said, hoping my mom wouldn't press too hard about it because I didn't have the energy to deal with it.
"So this is the new office, not as big or fancy, but it's warm, isn't it."
The walls were a bright white, a large desk and chair sat at the far end, and a large bookshelf full of textbooks and medical journals sat behind it.
Despite the cold air conditioning, the room had a comforting and warm vibe.
Addison: Apparently, the hospital has been kind to me. Apparently, I have a reputation.
Y/N: HA That you do. And kind? I could fit two cars into your previous office.
Addison: You, young sir, must learn to be grateful for the little things.
Y/N: Yes, yes, WE KNOW.
y/n chuckled, pulling his T-shirt off abruptly; unbeknown to him, a curious Scott could see and hear everything from outside.
Addison: oh wow. What is THAT, a bruise? And a big one.
Y/N: Umm, yeah, it kinda appeared, no big deal.
Addison: No big deal? It's quite literally a 'BIG' deal. And how did you manage to get yourself into this?
Y/N: Well, I kinda don't know… I just got home and went to bed, I had a horrible nightmare, and I woke up, and this colossal mark was here, so I think maybe I was sleepwalking or something? I don't know, really, but yeah…
Addison: Are you sure it was sleepwalking? Tell me more about the nightmare.
Y/N: I - I-Don— I don't know. It felt real, like I was awake or something. I was in bed, but then I wasn't... I was in the woods. I know it's not real, or I think it isn't because I remember the pain and getting caught in a bear trap, but I'm fine. However, there was something there when I was caught in the bear trap. It was, I don't know, this sounds crazy, it was … I don't know … it was a monster? It looked almost human, reptilian, kinda like the lizard man from Spider-Man. I KNOW, I KNOW, IT SOUNDS CRAZY, but it attacked me. My whole body couldn't move or breathe, and this is where it gets weird when I supposedly "died"/or rather "woke up" from the nightmare I was in the room, but where that ..thing… attacked me … I had this huge bruise. And I know this sounds like a cock and bull-bullshit story, but I swear I'm not lying.
Addison: Well, you are right about it. It sounds crazy, but I trust you. You know there's a thing called Phantom pain.
Y/N: MOM, I didn't imagine the pain. It's real! I have a bruise!
Addison: Oh honey, it stemming from something in your head doesn't mean it's any less real, or painful. Sometimes, when our body goes through a traumatic experience, it can leave this sort of "lasting pain." When someone gets their leg amputated, they feel a lot of extremely real pain in their "leg", the leg that's not even attached - despite this, their body produces actual pain and chemicals biologically, so the pain is very real. I'm no expert on Sleep studies, I'll have you shown to someone in a week or so, but my best guess is that the nightmare, which could have been caused by a thousand reasons like stress from moving and this and that probably inherently was traumatic enough for your body to "read it/ experience it as real pain" so even if it happened in your dream, it was damaging enough to your psyche for it to physically manifest as an actual bruise.
Y/N: So what I'm hearing is I need a shrink.
Addison: Honey, you'll realise this when you grow up, everybody needs a fucking shrink…Now I have to get back to work. I'll write you some meds for the pain, and to help it heal, don't physically exert yourself. That includes, you know, things with other people.
Y/N: Trust me, girls aren't exactly lining up for dates right now, so you don't need to worry about it.
Addison: Aww, I love you, baby.
Y/N: Love you too.
When Y/N was done with his mother, a tall boy stood there waiting for him. It was Scott McCall.
Y/N: Uhh, Hello, Scott...
Scott: Hey, sorry, I was just waiting for you.
Addison: Who's this?
Scott: I'm Scott McCall, I am in a couple classes with your son and we were talking earlier I was just wondering if y/n wanted to come over for dinner?
Y/N: oh, umm, yeah, that sounds nice, but I wouldn't want to impose.
Addison: Oh, nonsense! He would love to come over for dinner, and it's always lovely for Y/N to make friends, isn't that right?
Y/N: MOTHER: I have friends.
Addison: Sure, baby, and that reminds me, when was the last time you called them
Y/N: Why does everyone in this world have it out for me
Addison: Mhm.
Scott: Well, that sounds great! We're leaving in 10 minutes. Can I drive you?
Y/N internally sighed. There was no winning today. Maybe Destiny just really wants Y/N to hang out with these two boys…FUCK.

Magic Bullet 1x04
Episode 5
“If Derek isn't the Alpha... if he's not the one who bit you... then who did?” Stiles questions as their teacher passes out the graded tests they all took. Fallon rubs her eyes tiredly, exhausted from how late she stayed up going to see Derek. She doesn’t necessarily regret going, but now she feels an unnatural anger towards the man. He told her to stay out of the way. It’s unbelievable. All she wants to do is help and make sure no more people die, and yet he makes it seem as though she’s the problem.
“I don’t know,” Scott answers.
Stiles sighs and sits back in his seat for the briefest moment before thinking of another question and leaning forward, gently smacking Scott in the back with the back of his right hand. “Did the Alpha kill the bus driver?”
Scott whispers, “I don’t know.”
“Yes,” Fallon answers at the same time, a small yawn escaping her lips.
The two boys turn to look at her. She’s sitting next to Stiles in the row over. She freezes, realizing she just answered a question she shouldn’t even have any context to. Stiles narrows his eyes at her, “How do you know?”
She shrugs, trying to cover it up. “Just a hunch, I guess.”
“You’re lying,” Scott furrows his eyebrows. “I just heard your heart beat. It went up. How do you know?” He reiterates the question.
The brunette sighs. There’s no point in keeping it a secret, “I saw Derek last night…” she admits. “After the bus driver died, I wanted to know what was going on. So I went to hear it from him.”
“Are you stupid?!” Stiles scoffs, throwing his pencil at her. “What if he killed you, huh? Then what?”
“Well, I’m sitting right next to you so, I wouldn’t know,” she replies sarcastically.
“You shouldn’t have gone alone,” Scott scolds.
“You did,” Fallon points out incredulously, baffled by his hypocrisy.
“But I can protect myself in ways that you can’t,” he insists.
“Y’know I’m getting real tired of everyone assuming Stiles and I are useless just because we don’t have magical werewolf abilities,” she glares at him.
“I never said you were useless.”
“Okay!” Stiles whisper yells, stopping the argument from moving forward. “Moving on…” he turns his attention back to Scott. “Does Allison’s dad know about the Alpha?”
Scott, feeling overwhelmed by the mini argument with Fallon, along with the incessant questions from Stiles, loses his temper. “I don’t know!” He replies in a loud voice causing the teacher and pretty much every student in the class to look back at the three of them. He tries to play it off by looking out the window while Stiles sinks down into his chair. Fallon simply smiles fakely at the onlookers who turn away from the awkward situation.
Stiles is handed back his test first out of the three and is satisfied by the "A" he received. Fallon gets hers next, a small smirk on her face as she reads “A+” with a one-hundred percent written next to it. However, Scott sighs loudly when he's handed his, which has a “D-” written on it, Stiles leans forward to look at it and mutters sarcastically over Scott's shoulder, “Dude, you need to study more!”
Scott slams his test down on the desk, shooting Stiles a menacing glare. Stiles scoffs defensively, pushing himself away from Scott. “That was a joke, Scott,” he explains. “It’s one test! You’re gonna make it up. Do you want help studying?”
“Yeah, we can meet at my place tonight if you want,” Fallon suggests kindly, despite their previous argument. “We can make our own personalized pizza’s and stuff.”
Scott sighs, “No, I’m studying with Allison after school today.”
Stiles grins suggestively and pats Scott on the back proudly, “That’s my boy!”
Fallon rolls her eyes, kicking Stiles from across the way. “I said it once, and I’ll say it again. Boundaries.”
Scott nods along with Fallon, sending Stiles a pointed look, “We’re just studying.”
“Uh, no, you’re not,” Stiles scoffs, rubbing his shin where the angry brunette just kicked it.
Scott frowns in confusion, “No, I’m not?”
Stiles rolls his eyes in exasperation as though it’s obvious to what he’s referring to. “Not if I’m forced to live vicariously through you!” He exclaims. “If you go over to her house today and squander that colossal opportunity, I swear to God, I’ll have you de-balled.”
“You seriously need to get laid,” Fallon says to Stiles, taking out her book and burying her nose in it. Their teacher gave them the rest of the period off to do homework anyway.
“I’m well aware of that, thank you,” he replies as if what he said is a good comeback.
“Okay,” Scott looks at them with annoyed eyes. “Just... stop with the questions.”
Stiles nods with a grin, “Done. No more questions. No more talk about the Alpha, or Derek…” he trails off, his eyes going unfocused as he remembers the intimidating man. No doubt recalling their last interaction in the back of the police cruiser. “Especially Derek… who still scares me…”

Fallon makes her way over to the girls locker room after the last bell of the day. She likes being able to change in her own space for lacrosse practice because no one’s ever in here after school. The only time she usually has to share is with the off season soccer girls who only use it to get ready for training. The brunette walks over to one of the stalls, using the restroom before changing into her gear. She still has a headphone in, listening to her playlist to keep her mind occupied. She flushes the toilet before exiting the bathroom and washing her hands. She hums under her breath, watching as the water trickles down her skin.
“Holy shit!” She screams loudly when she looks into the mirror and sees a pale, almost dead looking Derek Hale standing behind her. He sways back and forth on his feet, his blue eyes looking more gray by the second. That’s when she notices the gaping bullet hole in his arm. Derek stumbles, almost falling to the floor, but Fallon rushes forward, wrapping his arm around her shoulder to hold him up. He’s a lot heavier than she thought. “What happened?” She asks, her voice laced with concern.
He grunts in pain, squeezing his eyes shut. “I was shot,” he manages to get out. Blood drips down his arm and off of his fingertips, leaking onto her shoes. She grimaces, but knows that her shoes are not the priority right now.
“I’m sorry, you got what?!” Her eyes widen as she moves frantically to have him sit down on one of the benches in the locker room. “By who?” She runs over to her locker, grabbing a spare shirt and a pair of scissors from her backpack. Her father’s words come into mind on how to take care of a gunshot wound. She cuts a long piece of fabric out of the material before going back over to Derek and creating a makeshift tourniquet. “By the way, this is gonna hurt, so brace yourself.”
“Wha–?” He lets out a low growl as she ties it as tightly as she can. The bleeding slowly slightly, but the wound still looks nasty. His eyes flash a bright blue for a moment before turning back to their normal color.
“Why aren't you healing?” She asks, looking over his form. A wound this small should’ve been nothing for the werewolf.
“I can’t,” he groans in pain. “It wasn’t a normal bullet. It’s different.”
“Like wolfsbane different?” She asks worriedly, remembering the different things she read in the book Stiles gave her.
Derek looks surprised by her second question, impressed by her knowledge. His head lulls forward and onto her shoulder, “Wolfsbane,” his voice turns into a whisper. “Need to find Scott. Where is he?”
“I don’t know,” Fallon answers, lifting him off the bench with a grunt. “We don’t have the same last class.” She manages to get them over to the door and out into the hallway. She eyes him sadly, trying her hardest to get him outside. Her arm wraps around his waist as another method to keep him up and secure. He’s trying to help hold his own body weight, but it’s no use. He’s fading, and fast. “C’mon Derek, stay with me,” she mumbles.
They barrel out of the exit doors and Fallon stops, looking over all the heads of the students to try and find Scott. She huffs as the line of cars is long and completely backed up. There’s no way she can get him anywhere safely on her bike, but her eyes brighten when she notices the blue Jeep sitting at the front of the masses of cars.
“Okay, I’m not seeing Scott, but Stiles is right there,” she assures him, starting to drag his limp body over to the vehicle.
“No. Absolutely not,” Derek denies, trying not to go in the direction Fallon’s forcing him in. “I don’t want help from your spaz head of a boyfriend.”
Fallon sighs, rolling her eyes as she continues hauling him. “He’s not my boyfriend,” she corrects. “And unless you wanna brave it out on my motorcycle, this is the best option.”
Derek doesn’t have time to protest as Fallon stops them right in front of Stiles’ car. She puts her hand up to stop him from going and her best friend slams on his breaks. He throws his hands up in annoyance, mumbling something under his breath as he moves to get out of the car. Horns blare from every direction and that’s when Fallon feels Derek start swaying again. “No, no, no, no, don’t fall! Derek, don’t fall!”
“I’m falling,” he whispers. His body starts leaning backwards, too far backwards for Fallon to keep up. She tries to use one last surge of strength to force him up, but it’s too late. His body's stature is no match for her. They fall into the asphalt with a loud thump. Both of them groan in pain and Fallon gets up, lifting his head to put on her legs so he has some way of sitting up.
Scott apparently saw the whole ordeal from the bike rack. He rushes over to Stiles’ jeep where his two best friends are taking care of Derek. Stiles is clearly the most pissed one out of the three of them, peeved Derek stopped him from going to play video games.
“What are you doing here?” Scott asks, blocking Derek’s view from the agitated students. They don’t need to see a dying werewolf in the middle of the school parking lot.
He tries to move himself away from Fallon’s lap, but his limbs are all too limp to get very far. “I was shot,” he gasps out, pointing to the hole in his arm.
“He’s not looking so good, dude,” Stiles looks at him warily.
“I wonder why,” Fallon says sarcastically.
“Okay, you know what? Now is not the time,” Stiles narrows his eyes at her.
Scott frowns in confusion, inspecting the injury. “Why aren’t you healing?” He asks the same question Fallon did
“I can’t,” he huffs tiredly, giving up and collapsing fully into Fallon. Blood seeps from his arm and into her blue jeans and she has to look up in the sky to prevent herself from being disappointed at her now stained clothing. “It was- it was a different kind of bullet.” He repeats the same story he gave to Fallon.
Stiles perks up, all of his supernatural dreams coming true. “A silver bullet?”
“No, you idiot,” Derek snaps irritatedly.
Scott looks as if he just put together something super important, “Wait, wait– that's what she meant when she said you had forty-eight hours…”
Derek’s eyes widen in alarm, “What? Who-who said forty-eight hours?”
“The one who shot you,” Scott answers.
Suddenly, Derek is hit with a powerful wave of pain that causes his eyes to flash bright blue, the same way they did when Fallon put the tourniquet on him. He grimaces in agony. When he opens his eyes again, they're continuing to flash back and forth between his werewolf blue eyes and his human green eyes. Scott looks horrified, his eyes darting around to make sure no one is watching before he mutters at Derek forcefully, “What are you doing? Stop that!”
“Scott, I don’t think he can,” Fallon whispers urgently. “He can’t control it.”
The boy looks at Derek, placing his hands on his shoulders, “Derek, get up.”
The line of cars start to get more impatient. As soon as they see people starting to get out of their vehicles to approach them, they realize that they need to get out of there. Now. Scott pulls Derek to his feet, the man wobbling from the sudden force. He latches onto Fallon once more, the brunette grunts but wraps her arms around his midsection anyway to keep him steady. Once she was sure they could move without collapsing again, she got him inside of Stiles’ jeep, placing him gently in the passenger seat. She huffs, realizing she’ll have to leave her bike here, but there’s no way she’s going to let Stiles handle Derek in the jeep alone. He’ll just have to take her back for her motorcycle later.
Fallon sits comfortably in the back, Stiles getting into the driver’s side. Derek sticks his head out the window, “I need you to find out what kind of bullet they used.”
Scott scoffs, “How the hell am I supposed to do that?” He asks, throwing his arms up.
“Because she’s an Argent,” he says. “She’s with them.”
Scott narrows his eyes, “Why should I help you?”
Fallon looks at him with an exasperated expression. Now is not the time for vendetta’s or looking for reasons to help someone. She sends her friend a begging look, but he doesn’t seem to notice.
“Because, you need me,” Derek answers in a weak voice.
Scott looks over and sees a confused Allison walking toward them and decides to wrap up this scene as quickly as possible, “Fine,” he sighs. “ I'll try.” Scott turns to look at Stiles, who's expression makes it clear that he's feeling very put-out at the moment. “Hey, get him out of here.
Stiles shoots Scott a death-glare, “I hate you for this, so much.” Stiles puts the car into drive and sets off just as Allison comes up. They’re speeding out of the parking lot, happy to get away from the angry crowd that started forming around them.
· · ────── ·𖥸· ────── · ·
Stiles drives the injured wolf and Fallon in his jeep. There’s a tense silence surrounding them, Derek grunting in pain while Stiles shoots him angry side glances. Fallon taps her foot impatiently as she stares at her text message thread with Scott. She has to have texted him at least eight times in the past twenty minutes. She doesn’t mean to rush, but this situation seems pretty dire. Like go there, find it, make up an excuse and leave kind of situation. Not go have a whole dinner with her family.
“What the hell is taking him so long?” Fallon grumbles, tossing her phone to the seat next to her. Her frustration is evident which only gets worse when Stiles smirks at her through the rear view mirror.
“Maybe he’s busy…” he wiggles his eyebrows. “Y’know gettin’ busy.”
Fallon cringes at the innuendo, “Are you serious right now?” She scolds him.
“Stop talking,” Derek seethes, closing his eyes tightly. They stopped flashing between blue and green which is a good sign, but the low growl in his voice is enough to make her sink back into her seat.
“I’m just saying,” Stiles defends himself. “Maybe he hasn’t done anything because he’s having fun. Which is what we should be doing rather than lugging dead wolf meat around,” he chides. That stupid smile appears on his face again, “I mean, I could totally see him and Allison–”
“Stop!” Derek shouts at the spastic boy, dangerously close to striking him in the back of the head.
“Okay, you don’t need to be yelling,” Fallon directs at Derek, staring at him through the mirror. “So why don’t you stop talking and sit there squirming in pain.”
He looks back at her, fury in his irises. “Shut up.”
“Hey, you need us a hell of a lot more than we need you,” Fallon narrows her eyes. “You came to me to save your ass, remember that? You’re the one bleeding out.”
Stiles nods, “Yeah, and uh speaking of that, try not to get it all over my seats, kay? We’re almost there anyway.”
“Almost where?” Derek hisses, turning his attention away from the brunette in the back. His hand is still covering the wound, blood slowly seeping onto his fingers. The tourniquet is still doing its job of slowing down the bleeding, but judging by his half-lidded eyes, it’s not going to do any good for much longer.
“Your house,” Stiles says, his voice calmer than it was a second ago. He slows to a stop when the traffic light ahead turns red. There’s no one else on the road with them which makes having Derek in the car less difficult. No one to explain their actions to.
“What?” Derek’s head snaps over the boy. “No, you can’t take me there.”
Stiles looks at him incredulously, “I can’t take you to your own house?”
“Not when I can’t protect myself!” Derek argues.
Stiles huffs angrily before turning his wheel roughly. He pulls off to the side of the road, turning off the jeep as he faces Derek fully, his nostrils flaring. “All right. What happens if Scott doesn't find your little magic bullet? Hmm? Are you dying?”
“Not yet,” Derek shakes his head.
“I’d really prefer it if you didn’t,” Fallon mumbles.
“I have a last resort,” he reveals, groaning loudly when another wave of pain hits him.
“What do you mean? What last resort?” Stiles yells.
Derek pulls his sleeve up fully, exposing the wound in all its glory. Fallon hadn’t seen the whole thing, only what his ripped shirt permitted. Stiles flinches violently from the sight while gagging, “Oh, my God. What is that?” He averts his gaze, looking out the window. “Oh, is that contagious?” He gasps. “You know what, you should probably just get out.”
“Stiles start the damn car!” Fallon yells at him. “He’s dying, I’m pretty sure he doesn’t need you making a bigger deal of it.”
“Listen to your girlfriend,” Derek adds menacingly.
“Again, not dating,” she points between her and Stiles.
“Hey! Alright, I don't think you should be barking orders with the way you look, okay? In fact, I think, if I wanted to, I could probably drag your little Werewolf ass out into the middle of the road and leave you for dead.”
Silence.
“Start the car… or I’m gonna rip your throat out… with my teeth,” Derek growls menacingly.
The two boys stare at each other for a solid minute or so before Stiles finally reaches for the keys, sliding them into the ignition. Fallon exhales softly, melting into her seat as she thanks whatever force out there stopped a fight between Stiles and a man twice his size.

Fallon bites her nails anxiously as she and Scott text back and forth. Derek’s not looking too good, Scott. Have you found anything?
His response comes back short. Need more time. She puffs out an irritated breath. That’s the only response she’s gotten from him in about two and a half hours. The sun is already set and it’s starting to become dark out. The sky was an ombré of red, orange, yellow, and blue as the night approaches. Fallon feels terrible for Stiles and the fact he had a full tank before this fiasco started. They’ve been driving around all day. They had no idea where to take Derek. Stiles’ house was obviously a no go as his dad is the sheriff and would probably lose his mind if he found out Derek had been there. They can’t take him to Scott’s either as Melissa would freak out if they snuck in unannounced again.
“Why can’t we just take him to your place?” Stiles suggests.
Fallon shakes her head, “My dad’s off tonight.”
“But he’s fine with Scott and I being there all the time,” Stiles shrugs.
“Because he knows you both,” Fallon counters. “We could probably get away with it if your dad didn’t tell him about all the crime life here,” she sighs. “But he does. So my dad knows what the almost dead werewolf here looks like,” she says, eyeing up the man in the passenger seat. “And let’s just say he wouldn’t exactly be keen on having an almost murderer in his house.”
“Thanks,” Derek shoots a glare her way.
“I’m not the one who reported you to the sheriff,” she reminds him. “Your issues are with him,” she points to Stiles, “and your bestie beta who’s currently finding the magical bullet to save your life.”
“I am going to claw your eyes out if you don’t keep your mouth shut,” his eyes flash blue in her direction.
“Take my ears off while you’re at it,” she suggests sarcastically. “That way I won’t have to hear you complain about everything.”
“I’m so confused whether you like each other or not,” Stiles furrows his eyebrows.
“Not,” Derek answers while Fallon says, “It’s complicated,” at the same time.
The two passengers jerk to the side as Stiles rapidly pulls over once more. He picks up his phone too fast, almost dropping it in the process as he brings it up to his ear. “Oh thank God,” he breathes out. “Did you find anything… Well, what are we supposed to do with him?” He groans.
Fallon leans forward, gripping Stiles’ chair, “What’s he saying?”
Stiles swats her away like a mother would her child. Fallon scrunches her eyebrows, leaning back in her seat offended. “And, by the way, he’s starting to smell,” there’s a short pause. “Like death.”
Derek sends Stiles a withering glance before turning to look at Fallon, “Do I really smell like death?” He questions.
“Are you sure you want me to answer?” She snarks with a quirked brow. “Wouldn’t wanna make you claw my eyes out or anything,” she mocks his previous statement. Derek clenches his fists as he stares at her and she just smiles fakely. “And yes, you do smell like death.”
“Yeah, and they won’t stop arguing like freakin’ children. I feel like I’m running a daycare here. They got along for like the first hour and then all hell broke loose,” Stiles complains. Both Fallon and Derek resist the urge to physically harm the boy in some way. The crease in Stiles’ forehead deepens at whatever Scott says, “What about your boss?”
Stiles throws his head back into his chair before holding the phone out for Derek to take, “You’re not gonna believe where he’s asking me to take you.”
Derek ignores him, taking the chance to talk to Scott. “Did you find it?” He waits for Scott to explain what he’s been doing for the past almost three hours. “Look, if you don’t find it, then I’m dead, all right?… Then think about this-- the Alpha called you out against your will. He's gonna do it again. Next time, either you kill with him, or you get killed. So, if you wanna stay alive, then you need me. Find the bullet.”
· · ────── ·𖥸· ────── · ·
The jeep rolls up to the animal clinic, taking one of the many empty parking spaces by the back entrance. Fallon tells Stiles to go find the key to unlock the building and that she’ll get Derek. She runs around to the passenger side, opening the door for the man. They resume their position from earlier at the school, his arm haphazardly draped over her shoulders and her arms securely fastened around his waist . She drags him towards the door, Stiles holding it open as his phone buzzes with another message from Scott.
“Please tell me he found something,” she begs, panting heavily as she goes to set him down in the back room.
Stiles furrows his eyebrows, “Maybe…” He looks up from his device to glance at Derek, “Does Northern Blue Monkshood mean anything to you?” He asks.
Derek nods, his head flopping slightly so Fallon lifts it up. “It’s a rare form of wolfsbane. He has to bring me the bullet.”
“Why?” Fallon queries as they finally reach the table. She pushes his body against it so she’s not holding him up entirely on her own.
Derek looks up at her weakly, “ ‘Cause I’m gonna die without it.”
Fallon’s heart drops into her stomach, “Crap…” she mumbles with a shaky exhale. She turns to look at Stiles, “Tell him to get here. Now.”
The threatening sound in her voice has Stiles scrambling to send Scott the message, informing him of the scary look on Fallon’s face. Derek begins tearing off hit clothing, ripping off his leather jacket smoothly before pulling his shirt with one hand over his head. He discards them by throwing them across the room before collapsing against the table once more. He lays his arm out for display, the bullet hole being a strange blue color, no doubt a reaction from the wolfsbane that’s slowly inching towards his heart. The blood dripping out of him is now black while the same color veins stretch up his arm from the wound.
Stiles bites his fist at the sight, gagging as he tries not to vomit all over the place. “Okay, you know, that really doesn't look like anything some echinacea and a good night's sleep couldn't take care of,” he waves off optimistically, wanting to get out of here as quickly as possible.
Fallon smacks him, “We are not leaving him, Stiles. He’s dying.” She shuffles through Destin’s things, trying to find some sort of surgical tool. “What we should do is get the bullet fragments out and try to stitch it up.” Working in the hospital has some perks. She might not legally be allowed to perform such a procedure, but nothing about this screams concern for legality.
“That won’t work,” Derek shakes his head which stops her from looking. “It’s already in my system. When the infection reaches my heart, it’ll kill me,” he breathes out.
Stiles rolls his eyes, “Positivity just isn’t in your vocabulary, is it?” He snarks sarcastically.
“Why don’t you try being shot in the arm,” Fallon quips back at her friend.
Stiles throws his hands up with an exhausted scoff, “Who’s side are you on?! One minute you’re arguing with him and telling him to die, the next you’re yelling at me! Make up your damn mind!”
Derek rips off Fallon's tourniquet, interrupting their argument as he attempts to replace it with a blue elastic band. She watches as he goes to tie it with his mouth and stops him. He glares at her as she takes it from him, a glare which she reciprocates before helping him put it in the same spot the other was. “If Scott doesn’t get here with the bullet in time– last resort,” he pants while looking through the drawers.
“Which is what?” Fallon questions.
He pulls out a small saw making her and Stiles grow paler than him. “You’re gonna cut off my arm.”
“Me?!” Fallon shouts, about ready to go along with Stiles’ plan and run out of there.
“No,” he denies before glancing at freckles. “Stiles.”
“What?!” He screams the same way Fallon did. “No. No, no, no, no, no, that’s not fair! Why do I have to do it? She’s more heartless than I am, she can do it,” he points.
Fallon scoffs and goes to rip him a new one, but Derek cuts her off. “No, Fallon needs to hold me down.”
“Why can’t I do that?” Stiles throws his arms up.
“Because looking between the two of you, I can tell her arms won’t snap if I start to push back,” Derek insults. “I need someone with muscle to be able to keep me from squirming.”
Stiles looks more than offended, “I- I have muscle,” he counters.
Derek sends him a pointed look which makes the boy shrink in on himself. Fallon takes a nervous step forward, standing next to Derek as she gets ready to hold him down. I’ll just close my eyes, she tells herself. I won’t get nightmares. This’ll be fine.
“What if you start begging me to let go and it’s too late?” She asks him, her concerns growing with every second she stares at the saw.
“That’s not gonna happen,” he answers.
“How do you know?” She scoffs. The black veins in his arm are starting to become much more prominent. “What if you try to tell me to let go because you’re bleeding out and I don’t hear you? Then you die from getting your arm sawed off. I don’t want to watch you die.”
Derek leans further into the table, “It’ll heal if it works.”
Stiles eyes the saw with a sickly expression. He swallows thickly, shaking his head. “Look, I don’t know if I can do this,” he admits, his overactive imagination not doing him any favors.
“Why not?” Derek says impatiently.
Stiles looks at him like he’s stupid, “Well, because of the cutting through the flesh, the sawing of the bone, and especially the blood!” He lists off exasperatedly.
“You faint at the sight of blood?” Derek asks incredulously.
“No, but I might at the sight of a chopped-off arm!” Stiles screeches in response.
“All right, fine. How about this– either you cut off my arm, or I'm gonna cut off your head,” Derek threatens.
Stiles rolls his eyes, “Okay, you know what? I'm so not buying your threats any–” Derek cuts him off by yanking him forward by the collar of his shirt. Stiles’ eyes widen as he tries to get out of his hold. “Oh, my God!” He gasps. “Okay. All right. Bought. Sold. Totally. I'll do it. I'll do it.”
Derek let’s go of him, the boy pushing himself away from the older werewolf. He turns to say something to Fallon, but she can see the distant look on his face. “Derek, what’s wrong?” She asks attentively. Instead of answering, his cheeks puff out and he lurches forward. Her eyes widen and she tries to take a step back, covering her face with her arms. His mouth flies open and black projectile vomit comes out of his mouth, splattering all over her. She gasps as the hot liquid drips down her body.
Fallon exhales with a small whimper. She shakes her hands, some of the vomit flinging off of her fingers. “It’s fine…” she tries to convince herself. “Everything’s fine… I didn’t even like this shirt anyway.”
Stiles' jaw hits the floor, his own bile rising in his throat. “Holy God, what the hell is that?!”
Fallon turns to Stiles, her facial expression is blank. “Stiles,” she wipes her cheek. “Do what he says.”
“But–” he goes to point at the saw.
“Now!” She screams at him. Despite the vomit all over her, she walks behind Derek and gets a good grip on him. She holds his arm in place and glares at Stiles, “Do it, now.” She orders, nodding towards the saw.
He grabs the saw for a moment before looking up to protest, “Look, honestly, I don’t think I can–”
“Just do it!” Derek and Fallon yell at the same time.
Stiles jumps at how scary their symphony of voices sound together. “Oh, my God. Okay, okay…” He starts the saw, a loud sound accompanying it. He starts putting it towards Derek’s arm, “Oh, my God.... All right, here we go…”
“Stiles! Fallon!” Scott’s voice rings through the clinic.
“Scott?” Stiles looks hopeful, glancing away from the death tool in his hand.
When Scott runs in, the first thing he sees is Fallon practically pinning Derek down while Stiles holds a miniature saw to his arm. His lopsided jaw goes slack, “What the hell are you guys doing?”
Stiles turns the saw off, stepping away from it with a relieved smile. “Oh, you just prevented a lifetime of nightmares,” he thanks his best friend.
Fallon steps away from Derek, every step she takes coming with a small ‘squelch’ sound. “Speak for yourself,” she grumbles.
The older man looks at Scott eagerly, “Did you get it?” He asks, searching for any sign of the bullet.
Scott reaches into his pocket, pulling out a small bullet and handing it to Derek. “What are you gonna do with it?” The brunette girl asks, wiping her face off with a towel she found near one of the kennels.
Derek holds the bullet up, “I’m gonna–” he stumbles, his speech much weaker. “I’m gonna–” Out of nowhere, the cure Scott worked so hard to find falls out of his fingers. Derek collapses, hitting the ground roughly as Scott and Stiles try to go after the bullet.
Fallon drops to her knees, eyes going wide as she stares at Derek’s unconscious form. She cups the side of his face with her right hand, shaking his shoulder with the other. He doesn’t move. “Derek! Derek, come on, wake up!” She pleads. Scott and Stiles are babbling in the distance, but she can’t understand a word they’re saying as her entire focus is on the almost dead man below her. Her eyes scan his body and her breath hitches when she notices his chest isn’t rising. She puts her fingers to his neck trying to find any sign of a pulse. It’s there, but not very strong. The weakest pulse she’s felt. Fallon wracks her brain for any kind of medical information she’s learned from the hospital to wake him up.
Her eyes lighten up as she leans forward, opening his mouth to see if there is any blockage. She notices chunks of the black vomit he spat at her earlier blocking his airway. She sticks her pointer and middle finger in his mouth, swiping out the liquid. She then quickly turns him on his side before putting her hand into a fist and hitting him in the back as hard as she can. His eyes shoot open, blue flashing across them as he coughs more blood on Fallon. She cringes but keeps patting his back to make sure all of it leaves his system.
“I got it!” Scott screams. “I got it!”
Stiles looks at Fallon with shock on his face, “Where did you learn how to do that?”
“The hospital,” she utters out quickly, bringing Derek to his feet. “I’ve seen Melissa do it on a choking baby. Obviously with much less force, but same principle.”
“Give me–” Derek gasps in pain as he takes the bullet from Scott’s hand, biting off the tip to expose where the gunpowder is. He empties it into his hand before pushing it forcefully into the wound. He howls loudly as blue smoke starts floating up from the gunshot hole. His face turns red as he falls back to the floor, writhing around in pain. His back arches upwards as he tries to fight against screaming anymore than he already has. Fallon watches in awe as his wound begins to heal at a rapid pace, the black veins slowly disappearing until the injury is completely gone.
“That… was… Awesome!” Stiles exclaims with a clap of his hands. He pumps his fist in the air as if they just got off of an amusement park ride. “Yes!”
“I’m gonna hit you,” Fallon tells him blatantly. Stiles’ face falls, but he knows better than to continue testing her. She walks closer to Derek, sticking her hand out to help him off the floor. “Are you okay?” She asks genuinely.
Derek accepts her offer, using her to get himself up. “Well, except for the agonizing pain…” he says sarcastically.
“I’m guessing the ability to use sarcasm is a good sign of health,” Stiles comments, crossing his arms. Derek sends a death stare his way making Fallon rolls her eyes as she moves away from him and over to where Stiles is standing.
“Okay, we saved your life, which means you're gonna leave us alone. You got that?” He instructs Derek. “And, if you don't, I'm gonna go back to Allison's dad, and I'm gonna tell him everything–” the threat is cut off by Derek who looks absolutely appalled by what he just said.
“You’re gonna trust them?!” He narrows his eyes. “You think they can help you?”
Scott shrugs his shoulders, “Well, why not?” He yells loudly. “They’re a lot freaking nicer than you are!”
Derek surges forward angrily, “I can show you exactly how nice they are.”
· · ────── ·𖥸· ────── · ·
Fallon sighs tiredly as she parks her motorcycle in front of her house. Her eyes are practically closing as she trudges through the front door. Stiles had taken her back to the School to get her bike after Derek took Scott to show him how “evil” the Argents are. She closes the front door, a small click echoing behind her.
“Where have you been?”
Fallon flinches as the light to the living room suddenly flicks on. Michael is sitting in his chair in the living room, a book in his lap with a reading lamp sitting beside him. She looks like a deer caught in the headlights of an oncoming vehicle.
“I asked you a question,” he says. “Where have you been? It’s two in the morning.” His voice is more than just concerned or worried. He’s disappointed.
Fallon places her helmet on the kitchen counter before turning back to her dad, “I was out with Scott and Stiles,” she answers.
“Doing what?” He continues questioning. “You all know there’s a police enforced curfew, right? None of you should be out this late, especially on a school night,” he crosses his arms as he walks over to his daughter. “You didn’t text, call, nothing. I had no idea where you were. Now, normally I don’t care because I know you’re responsible, and ninety percent of the time you’re with the boys. But with everything that’s going on, the murders, the dead bodies, you need to start being more communicative.”
“Dad, all we did was drive around,” she defends. “Stiles wanted to go get food and stuff after school, so we went and did that and just hung out around town.”
“Really?” He asks, disbelieving every word coming out of her mouth. “Just eating and driving around?”
“Yes,” she shrugs.
“Then why not shoot me a text?” He lifts an eyebrow. “I don’t think that’s too hard, do you?”
“No,” she sighs, getting tired of this conversation already. “I’m sorry. Next time I plan on being out late, I’ll let you know what I’m doing.”
“Oh no,” Michael shakes his head. “There will be no next time. From now on, you will be home by the enforced curfew time. If the boys want to come over and stay the night, you know I have no problem with that. But you will not leave this house anytime after that, do you understand me?”
Fallon scoffs, “Dad, are you serious?” She says upsetly.
“Dead serious young lady,” he nods. “I don’t want to leave my shift at the hospital getting a call from Noah saying that they found my daughter's dead body somewhere in the woods. It’s dangerous out there, Fallon. I’m not going to allow you to engage in reckless behavior. I’m your father. It’s my job to keep you safe. You might hate me now, but it’s for the best,” he shuts his lamp off, setting his book back on their shared bookshelf in the living room. “You can complain about me all you want to the boys, but I’ve made up my mind,” he walks over towards the stairs before glancing back at his daughter. “Now go to bed. You still have school in the morning. You get to deal with the consequence of being tired.”
She watches after her father, shock written all over her face. She just saved a man’s life and pretty much got grounded at the same time. Michael is a very easy going parent. She got lucky in the dad department, and she knows that. Seeing and hearing him talk to her like that isn’t common. They usually don’t have issues to this extent. They have a mutual trust. But if he’s really that worried that he’s willing to confine her to the house, she’s going to have to listen to him.
Or get a lot more creative on how to sneak out.

That was it.
That moment was either kill or be killed.
Realization dawned upon everyone at the same time, the air in the room shifting as everyone understood what needed to be done. Even the Kanima had his own rules to carry out. Whether they wanted to or not, they had to fight Jackson, and someone had to come out of it alive.
Isaac’s grip tightened around (Y/N) as the creature unhanded Allison, its sight set on the other Argent girl. Meanwhile, her father stood between her and the creature in a protective stance. Even without a loaded weapon, he would not let more harm come to his daughter. It was clear Gerard had given Jackson a quiet command and he couldn’t ignore it.
But once free, Allison reared back and elbowed the Kanima in the face, breaking his gaze before he pushed her to the ground and out of the way. His eyes fell back on (Y/N), a murderous glint in his irises. He was tasked to kill the girl, and he wouldn’t stop until he completed his goal.
Suddenly, Stiles’ powder blue Jeep crashed through the wall, colliding straight with the Kanima. “Did I get him?” he asked, his eyes tightly shut.
His question was answered as Jackson jumped onto the car, scaring him and Lydia out of the vehicle. Stiles ran to Scott while Lydia faced the lizard version of her ex-boyfriend. As scared as she was, she knew what she had to do, obviously aware since before she came upon the creature. She dug into her pocket for a key, her head facing away from the Kanima, too afraid of his form to stare and bracing for his potential strike.
“Jackson,” she muttered as she showed him the key, stopping him dead in his tracks.
The creature’s eyes focused on the item. Suddenly, it was the most important thing on his mind. He no longer felt the uncontrollable need to kill; there was only him and his memories. It wasn’t the key, of course not, but what that little gold thing meant.
Right before everyone’s eyes, the scales started to disappear from Jackson’s body, revealing the boy under the murderous lizard. Lydia had always been the answer to their Kanima problem; they just didn’t know.
The boy stumbled back as his body continued to revert, and in the blink of an eye, Derek sprung from the ground toward him, and Peter appeared from his back, and they both dug their claws into Jackson’s stomach and back, respectively. They raised him off the ground, sinking deeper before setting him back down. Blood pooled in his mouth, and his stance faltered as weakness took over him.
Lydia was quick to help him stand, her teary eyes focused only on him. “Do you…,” he tried to speak. “Do you still…?”
“I do,” she whimpered as she nodded. “I do still love you.”
The redhead kept repeating the words as a mantra as Jackson closed his eyes and his body grew limp. They both fell to the ground as the weight took over the girl, but she never let him go. Instead, she cradled his body close to hers, whispering her goodbyes to the boy who had been her first love.
All their friends could do was stand and stare as they watched her lay him gently on the ground, witnessing the last traces of the Kanima disappear from Jackson’s face. They had gone so far and done so much, only for Derek to get what he wanted in the end.
But they were in Beacon Hills. There, sometimes, the dead didn’t stay dead for long.
As they worried about Gerard’s sudden disappearance and Lydia turned her back to Jackson, the sound of nails scraping the concrete echoed through the room. He raised from the ground and revealed the most unexpected of turns. The bite had taken, and Jackson had finally gotten what he wanted. He was finally a werewolf. And, most of all, he was alive.
“Don’t mean to break this beautiful moment here,” (Y/N) muttered. Lydia and Jackson had shared in an intimate embrace as they celebrated his reanimation and her confessions. “Still sort of bleeding out here.”
“Oh my god, (Y/N),” Allison said as realization dawned upon her. “I-I…”
“You can save your guilt for a later time,” the girl groaned. “Right now, I need to stop the bleeding.”
“Here, munchkin.” Henry ripped two strips from the bottom of his t-shirt, using them as a tourniquet for her leg and shoulder. “That should keep you stable until we get home and get you stitched up.”
“(Y/N), I’m…”
“It’s fine, Allison,” (Y/N) said through gritted teeth. “We can talk later. I just… I need to get out of here.”
“Take my car,” Chris interjected. “I’ll go back home with Allison.”
“Yeah,” she muttered, shame eating away at her mind. “I’ll see you later, I guess.”
(Y/N) started to limp away with the help of her father and Isaac, ignoring the burning gaze of Derek. She could tell he wanted to reach out, to be the one helping her to the van. But he had burned that bridge with a torch and gasoline. If he ever planned on rebuilding it, he’d have to do it from the ground up.
The girl groaned with every step she took, her limbs aching and pulsing. Isaac helped her into the SUV, clicking her seatbelt for her, careful to avoid her injuries. “I can go with you,” he whispered. “Meet you at the house?”
“You should stay with Derek for now,” she said. “My mom’s gonna probably be at the house and Erica and Boyd have to be there already. I’ll send them over as soon as I can—given they actually went there.”
“But…”
“I’ll be okay, Isaac,” she assured with a weak smile. “I’ll see you later today, okay?”
“She’s in good hands, kid,” Henry said as he sat on the driver’s side of the car. “We’ll let you know when you can sneak back into the house.”
“You, uh, you know about that, sir?”
“Not much happens in my house that I don’t know about,” he chuckled. “And I know Brody is not the one eating the food in my kitchen.”
“Oh, uh, um...”
“It’s okay, Isaac,” Henry smiled. “I don’t mind. There’s always space for anyone that needs it at my house. You can stay over any time—except when my wife is at home. She’s not as generous.”
“Uh, thank you, sir,” Isaac mumbled. “I appreciate it.”
“Guys, this is a beautiful moment,” (Y/N) interrupted, “but still bleeding here.”
“Right,” her father chuckled. “We’ll let you know when you can come over.”
The car ride back home was quiet at first. Henry sped through the streets, rushing to get to his house and take care of his daughter. He knew her condition wasn’t worrisome, but it didn’t stop the concern that flooded his mind as (Y/N) grimaced and groaned from the pain. But he knew all she needed was a bit of conversation to distract her mind.
“So, you and Isaac seem close,” Henry teased. “Is he the boy that had you questioning our family’s beliefs?”
“What? No,” she quickly replied. “Isaac and I are just friends, dad.”
“Does he know that?”
“Dad…”
“I’m just saying, kid,” he chuckled. “He seems to really care about you.”
“And I care about him, but we’re just friends,” (Y/N) assured. “It didn’t really work out with the person I was talking about that day. He, uh, wasn’t who I thought he was.”
Henry turned to look at his daughter. She no longer was the little girl who could barely see above the dashboard when in the front seat, or the preteen who would live with headphones on her ears. (Y/N) was closer to adulthood than she was to her younger years, even if he couldn’t think of her as anything other than his baby girl. She was growing, and with that came many challenges they would have to face together.
“Is it Derek?” the man continued to inquire. “Gerard mentioned something about it tonight.”
(Y/N)’s gaze fell to her leg, fiddling with the soaked fabric. “Yeah,” she sighed defeatedly. “I mean, nothing really happened between us, but it still ended.”
“Derek Hale, huh? He’s been quite the character in our family’s story.”
“Yeah, sure know how to pick ‘em,” the girl chuckled awkwardly. “Didn’t even get to become a problem for the Argents. Over before we even began.”
“Do you wanna talk about it?” Henry asked. “You don’t have to, of course. But it can help you make sense of everything.”
“I don’t… he just said something that he can’t take back,” she shrugged, sinking into the seat. (Y/N) considered telling her father the entire story. From the dreams to the agreement she had made with Derek, she wanted him to know everything. But if he could keep his secrets, so could she. At least until they all erupted to the surface. “We just don’t work, I guess. No point in really delving into the whole thing.”
“Well, I’m here if you wanna talk about it, kid,” he said as he killed the car’s engine. “Let me help you out.”
Henry rounded the car and took his daughter in his arms, carrying her inside.
The house was quiet and dark, save for a light in the kitchen. There, Rebecca was serving a wine glass for herself. As (Y/N) came into view, the glass slipped from her hand and shattered on the ground, spilling liquid as red as the blood that stained her daughter’s skin.
“What happened?!” she exclaimed as she ran to her daughter. “I thought you were supposed to stay away from this.”
“She wasn’t gonna work with the hunters,” Henry said as he set (Y/N) on a stool by the kitchen island. “Doesn’t mean she wasn’t gonna help her friends.”
“Did they do this to you, (Y/N)?” Rebecca worried. “Did those things hurt you?”
“No, mom,” (Y/N) scoffed. “This is the work of Allison. You know, your niece who was hellbent on getting the local pack to avenge her mother. Yeah, she did this.”
“No… Allison wouldn’t.”
“She did,” Henry confirmed. “Gerard was real proud.”
“Come on, she’s family,” the woman continued to argue. “Allison wouldn’t do that to you.”
“We can stay here and argue about what happened to me,” (Y/N) sighed, “or you can help me with these wounds. Just stop. Please, mom.”
Rebecca hurried to the cupboard under the kitchen sink. She pulled out the first aid kit and quickly set to work on her daughter. First, she cut the leg of her pants, sliding it softly down her leg, careful not to disturb the wound. The girl’s thigh was covered in dried blood, fresh droplets still coming out of the cut. Thankfully, the knife hadn’t gone deep enough to nick any veins, but it had caused enough damage to drench her jeans and her skin with blood.
The woman cleaned the skin surrounding the wound, mindful of her daughters jerks and winces as she worked. Once the area was clear she glued the skin back together with a liquid bandage before doing the same with the girl’s shoulder. Finally, she covered both wounds with a waterproof bandage and gave her daughter two ibuprofen pills.
“Why don’t you head up to the shower and go to bed, honey?” Rebecca said as she put the items away. “We can all talk calmly tomorrow. It’s been a long night already.”
“Yeah, are you asking me or telling me?”
“Okay, kid, let’s get you upstairs,” Henry said, stifling a laugh. “There’s gonna be a lot to unpack tomorrow.”
“Alright, I get the hint,” (Y/N) said as she got off the stool, careful to keep her weight mostly off her hurt leg. “Good night, guys.”
“Do you need any help?”
“I think I can manage.” She tested her steps, making sure she could at least make it to her room without help. “Yeah. I’m good.”
“Alright,” Henry said before kissing the top of his daughter’s head. “Let me know if anything changes during the night, munchkin. I don’t care how late it is.”
“Yeah. Thanks.” (Y/N) limped toward the staircase, pressing her nails into her palms as pain shot up her leg and through her arm. She knew she should have asked for help, even if it was just to her room. But she had felt useless enough. “Night, guys.”
“Good night, honey,” her parents called out.
The girl mustered all the strength she could to make it all the way to her room. Part of her hoped Erica and Boyd had made it to her house. But as soon as her doorknob turned without any fight, she knew they were not there. All she could do was hope they at least were somewhere safe. Maybe they had gone through their plan of skipping town. Maybe.
Instead of two teen werewolves inside her room, she was met with an expectant Brody. In the blink of an eye, he had jumped off her bed and was by her side, whimpering as he noted the star of her body. He nudged her healthy leg softly, his eyes focused on hers.
“Hey, buddy,” she chuckled painfully. “I’m alright, boy. Just gotta get all this dirt off.”
Brody merely whined in response, clearly worried for his owner.
“I’m okay, bud,” (Y/N) smiled weakly. “We won tonight. Yeah. We won.”
She wasn’t sure if those last words had been to calm her dog or if she had to convince herself. They’d merely won a fight, but she could feel a war coming in. Something no one was ready for.
But she couldn’t worry about the future just yet. Not when the present was still so fresh.
After sending Brody to her bed, (Y/N) hurried to the bathroom. She set her change of clothes on the bathroom sink before ripping the dirty clothes off her body. The fabric had darkened with her blood, making it cling to her as it dried. Both items were unsalvageable, already cut and sulked by her wounds. They were evidence of a fight well fought but they reminded her of all she had done wrong.
(Y/N) set the shower to run hot before she allowed the stream to over her aching body. As the water came close to singe her skin, she allowed the tears to fall from her eyes, one of her hands flying to her mouth to muffle the sobs that escaped her.
Her mind kept replaying the night. She had started off strong with her fight back at the school. Hell, she had felt invincible then. When she had helped Erica and Boyd escape, she was sure the night would be filled with nothing but wins. But all it took was one wrong move and she’d allowed Allison to incapacitate her for the rest of the fight. If Stiles and Lydia had not burst in, she would have just become a burden to her friends. All the training and records she had broken had meant nothing. Not when a simple knife to her leg was enough to take her out of the running.
Then there had been Derek. She couldn’t get the gut-wrenching look of betrayal he sent her out of her mind. As much as he had hurt her, she didn’t want to hurt him. Yet, she knew Scott’s plan inevitably would. Derek was too married to the notion that the only way they could defeat Jackson was by killing him, but in doing so, he’d unravel too many knots that had already been tied.
When she had gone to see Scott after the fight in the sheriff’s station, (Y/N) had been sure she’d be leaving his house on Derek’s side. But there she learned just how much was at stake, and to beat Gerard they had to start playing his game. He had begged her not to tell Derek, knowing the alpha would find a way to get the Argent man exactly what he wanted. Knowing how much they could lose in the process, she had agreed. She didn’t tell anyone.
Much like she had done for her pain since she was a little girl, she kept it all inside. The girl shielded everyone around her from her fears and her sadness, too afraid to let them be consumed by the darkness that hid within her—in her mind and her heart. It was that very darkness that she was afraid would eat away at her when she least expected it. The void that lived in the chest of every Argent, waiting dormant until it was its time to wake.
(Y/N) had seen that darkness in Allison that night, but it had started its consumption many nights before. It had chiseled away at the barriers of her mind, clouding her thoughts with ire and vengeance. That night, it was the darkness that had sunk its knife into (Y/N)’s body for standing in the way. She couldn’t blame her cousin because she knew it all too well. It had visited her in her dreams, and it had been biding its time until it could have a taste of her too.
The water had grown cold by the time it had finally run clear. Ache returned to her muscles as the temperature dropped, and she knew her laments had to stop, too. No good would come from being alone with her thoughts, spiraling down an endless tunnel of dread.
At that moment, there was only one person that her mind drifted to for consolation. Regardless of what he had done and what he had said, she had grown to find comfort in him—his arms, his touch, his lips. And at that moment she needed that solace.
But he had made things clear, and no phone call or message could change his mind.
At least that’s what she thought.
(Y/N) left her bathroom, ready to sink into her cold bed and fall asleep to Brody’s gentle snores. She left the mess of dirty clothes on the floor—a problem for the morning. All she wanted was rest. Just rest.
She hadn’t expected to find Derek in the middle of her room, welcomed by an excited Brody. He was petting the dog and singing him praises when he noticed (Y/N) coming into the room, making him stop dead in his tracks. “(Y/N), I…” he started, unsure of what to say. “I know I shouldn’t be here, but after tonight I just had to see you, make sure you were okay. I can go if that’s what you want. I just…”
(Y/N) didn’t let him finish. She ran to him and wrapped her arms around his waist, letting herself come undone in his arms. Words be damned, hurt be damned. All she wanted was that moment. She allowed herself to sob into his chest, melting into his embrace like she had done before, and she cried. She cried until she didn’t remember if she had stopped.

Through the dark you make your way towards the hale house, only with the help of moonlight, you're panting heavily the time you reach the Hale's house. Cardio was never your strong suit God you need to work on your stamina. You regret not getting your own car the reason that's an different story, now you have more pressing matters to deal with...Derek. you call out derek's name when you reach the hale house, your voice echoes through night echoing through the silent woods void of any insects.
"DEREK!" you run around the burned down house searching through the house but doesn't find him. "DEREK!"
"DEREK!" stepping out the house you call out his name thinking that he might have escaped you call on scott's phone it rings....
"What are you doing here girl?" an unfamiliar voice asks making you turn around you come face to face with an older guy with an ugly face, bald as well.
"Trick or treating." Your other hand on pocket clenches the taser gun "What are you doing here, it's private property."
"You know derek hale" the man walks towards you his eyes narrowing at your figure up and down making you glare at him.
"And what if I do."
The man let a laugh "Well I'm his friend."
"I find it hard to believe"
"Why is that?"
"Because you look like a shady guy with a white pickup van and you're bald, no offence." You shrug backing away from the guy
Just then you hear a growl echo through making you startle just as the man launch towards you his hands choking you making you gasp for air "You got some mouth on you."
You nails scratch the man's hands the sound of chain rattling and snarl intensifies making the man laugh your eyes starts to stink. The man grins falter when he sees your grin you bring your foot up kicking him the south and step on his feet with your heel with all your might as man move away you take out the taser gun and tase him the man whither in pain.
Coughing you walk away from the man following source of the growls you walk through the narrow path that open up to hallway with dim lights, hurrying towards the door you open the door and see derek chained shirtless something sticks into waist.
"What the hell?"
You walk towards him he tiredly looks up "You shouldn't be here"
"You know if saying thank you doesn't work for you, I'll take cash, check or even free food. Your choice." You glance at the thing that attached to him, derek eyes watches you peel off that from his side his eyes lingering on the now appearing bruise on your neck with a guilty look on his eyes, his body tingles when your fingers graze on his skin.
You throw the thing away before inspecting the chain "you think, you can break them?"
Derek shakes his head "I'm weak now. scott must be heard me. You need to get out before the guys comes back."
"Don't tell me what to do, asshole." You think running your hands through your hands pausing you glance at your hands then to derek's exhausted frame, hesitantly you bring your palms towards him hovering over his chest derek eyes follow your movements.
You clench your fist before taking hold of derek face "What?" he mumbles his eyes looking down at your face mixed with worry and focused expression.
"Shut up."
The green glow sweeps out your palm branching out it enter derek body his body warms up he exhale loudly feeling his healing getting rapid and the exhaustion leaving his body. He sighs in to your touch leaning towards you.
While you were focused on healing derek you didn't see the guy coming up behind you with baseball bat held in his hand ready to strike you but before it can happen derek break his chains and caught the baseball in hand, in split seconds derek break the chains and put himself between you and the guy while you try to catch your energy. Derek growl at the man and the sound his bones breaking echoes the seller with sickening sound as the man cried out when derek wrap his one hand around his neck and break his hand with other hand.
Derek throws the guy across the seller; with heaving chest he turns to you his werewolf side slowly fading away his gaze softening.
"What are you wearing?"
You raise your brow at his question "really! At least I have clothes where is yours?" you point at him you shake your head when you catch your eyes lingering on his abs a little bit longer than you like.
Derek lips slightly curl as he starts walk towards you making you narrow your eyes at him and fidget at where you stand.
"You guys are alright?" scott voice makes stop derek, you sigh seeing him and nod scott squint his eyes at you before making his way towards you.
"Wait... what happened to you?" he tilts your chin taking closer look at the bruise.
You push his hands away lightly "I'm fine." Scott red teary eyes look unsure but something tells you the injury isn't the only reason "what.... did something happened?"
Scott nods "Allison.... they know I'm a werewolf." Your eyes widen at that cursing silently you pat scott on his arms, He turns to derek "and we need to stop peter from killing them. derek, you need to help us not him."
"Scott..."
"No, you don't understand. This is what brought your sister back here, right?" scott show a picture of dead deer with a spiral marking on it.
"Where did you get that?"
"My boss told me three months ago; someone came into the clinic asking for a copy of this picture. Do you wanna know who it was? Peter's nurse. They brought your sister here so that Peter could kill her and become the Alpha, and that's why you're going to help me."
You look at derek "did you really though he killed your sister by accident or whatever?". "Did you not know that everyone that peter killed had some connection with the fire."
Derek looks down you can feel the range building him in "I'll help you stop him." You and scott sigh in relief at his words.
The three of you walks out the seller into the woods anxiously keeping an eye out for obvious reasons.
"Hey, hold on, hold on, hold on. Something doesn't feel right." derek says halting he look around warily
Annoyance seep through your face "What do you mean?"
"I don't know, it's- it's kind of like it's—"
Scott interjecting before he can finish his sentence "No, don't say "too easy." People say "too easy" and bad things happen. What, do you think finding you was easy? Getting away from Allison's dad? None of this has been easy!"
"Does it kill you to be positive" derek glance at you before nodding
"Fine. You're right."
"Thank you." you and scott says at the same time huffing at derek, scott walk ahead you motion derek to walk before you just as you follow them you feel a wave of emotion surge through your body, hatred, sadness above all pride and arrogance.
Derek stumble when he suddenly felt a hand tugging him down, stumbling back he sees you looking at him with worry and fear, you gasp loudly he doesn't see Kate and Allison few feet away from them.
Scott looks behind him when he heard the faint sound of Arrow cutting through the air before just as quickly it pierces through flesh scott eyes widen in fear and shook as his eyes fall on your figure an arrow pierced right through shoulder, the smell of blood starts to bloom the air.
When he follows the line of vision his body turned into stone seeing Allison crouched down with bow and arrow along side with her aunt kate. He falls back on his heel his eyes shifting between you and Allison.
Derek broke out of his numb stage his hands wrap around your swaying figure, your legs give out wheezing and groaning in pain derek pulls you closer to him.
Allsion hands shake when you take the hit "it's collateral damage, you can't get them away."
Derek pulls you away from their sight of vison yelling at scott to take cover.
"She's my friend...she's innocent...I can't" Allsion says
Kate stands up "I don't think she's is. Now flash-bolt."
"Scott, your eyes!" derek yell with his ears ringing and vision blurred as he hides behind the tree with you in his arms bleeding
"Now." The edge on Kate voice make Allsion release the bow scott ear rings but he doesn't move away still in place he is
"I think I said too soon." You weakly said derek break the arrow but doesn't pull it out.
His hands tighten around you "Shut up." He checks the wound thankfully it doesn't pierce your heart but you're losing so much blood.
"Scott, help him" you try to move out his hold but derek push you down "Just stay put!" he turns seeing Allison and Kate walking over "Scott, get out of here."
"Allison, I can explain."
"Stop lying. For once, stop lying." Allison walk past the two you with teary eyes she doesn't look at your away dismissing your soft call for her name.
"I was gonna tell you the truth at the formal. I was gonna tell you everything... because everything that I said, everything that I did—"
"Was to protect me."
"Yes."
"I don't believe you."
Kate groan "Thank God." She walks around the tree with her gun pointed at her lips curling into a sinister smile "Having flashbacks Derek?" she points the gun at two of you derek eyes flash as his hold on you tighten.
"Not only do you sound like a bitch, you are bitch." You let out a weak chuckle Kate stare down at you with venomous eyes.
"Well, I'm a living breathing bitch and you're literally a wounded bitch." Kate mutter before turning to Allison "Come on now, shoot him before I have to shoot myself!"
Derek looks down at you his blurred vision clearing and he see your eyes dropping from the blood lose "Kate they're just kids, let them go." Derek says Kate roll her eyes at him "Allison" He yells her name making her turn to him "She is losing blood; you need to help her." Scott tries lift himself to move towards you but Kate point her gun at you
"Don't move or she will die first that if she's not already dead"
"You... you said we were just gonna catch them...We have to take her to the hospital." Allison said nervously.
"We did that. Now we're gonna kill them." she looks down at your closing eyes as derek tries keep you awake.
Kate pulls the trigger aiming at you just as derek cover your body with his taking the shoot Allison gets startled as scott yells seeing You and derek body falls limply "See? Not that hard. Oh, no... I know that look. That's the "You're gonna have to do it yourself" look.
"Kate... Kate, what are you doing?" Allison yells as kate march towards them she pushes Allison down pointing the gun at Scott whose eyes not leaving the two of your fallen figures just few feet away from him.
"I love those brown eyes..."
"Kate!" Chris Argent yells walking towards them with a pointed gun at her "I know what you did. Put the gun down."
"I did what I was told to do."
"No one asked you to murder innocent people! There were children in that house, ones who were human. Look what you're doing now! You're holding a gun at a sixteen-year-old boy with no proof he's spilled human blood!"
Chris Argents eyes fall on you, "Did you hurt the girl?" his voice was heavy scott slowly moves towards you and derek. "I'm asking Did. You. hurt. That. Girl.?"
Allsion stands up her throat tightening "Dad..." Chris eyes widen at his daughter's guilt-ridden face tears streaming down. "I didn't......mean to shoot her." Chris looks at his daughter with equally guilted face no being able protect his daughter from hurting an innocent girl, some one just like her.
Gently Scott takes your head in his lap tears streaming down on his face he whispers your name his ears pick up the faint heartbeat that going dangerously slow he look at Chris Argent "Please.... help her.... you can kill me ...just help her...she is losing too much blood."
"Please, I'm begging you." you fell like you're floating in the empty space the last thing you hear is scott's pleading to the Argents to save your life.
Allison hesitantly walks towards them she let her bow and arrow fall to the ground. "I didn't...." she sobs.
"Allison!" Chirs yells "Take her to the hospital, and you kate, put the gun down... before I put you down."
The noise around you fades away, the memories of yesterday rush in, grams, bonnie, scott and stiles......stiles. The echoes of apologies that doesn't came out of your mouth directed towards him.
Stiles curse when he sees no response from you his stomach twisting with uncomfortable feeling as pressing down the accelerating with alarming speed he drives to the hale house when the Argents dragged him from the dance asking for scott he knew everything is going south. He was paranoid when you said Lydia might get attacked by peter but fortunately it didn't happen, he brought her back home safely but the paranoia didn't go away it just seemed intensify.
Jackson sit beside him stiles still doesn't know why he offered stiles his car, its very unlike to stiles that jackson simply offered to help out of his good heart maybe it's his guilt of ratting out scott and the whole ordeal of their connection to the alpha and derek.
Just as scott kick peter sending him crash the sound of tire screeching and bright headlight blind the alpha stiles gets out the jeep throwing jar of chemical liquid, a Molotov, at the alpha, it caught it his claws a snarl escaping it lips.
"Oh, damn!"
"Allison!" scott throws her bows at her she caught it and released the bow shattering the jar and ignites the alphas arms stiles and jackson watches as the alpha snarl before jackson throw the Molotov jar in his arms at the alpha making the fire spread all over him.
Peter tries to moves towards Allison with growl but scott kicks him away with yell making stumbling back he crawls away as the fire die down peter back to his human form his body bloodied and burned.
Stiles and jackson stands shell shocked at the sight as peter wither in pain. Allison stands and walks towards scott kissing him slowly making him confused at sudden change in her demeaner.
"Why did you do that?"
"Because I love you."
stiles eyes search for you but he doesn't find you before stiles can call your name, he sees derek walking towards peter before slitting his throat, he cringes at the sight.
"I'm the Alpha now." Derek distorted voice his blue eyes turned red, shining among the darkness rung out stiles silently scoff at him walking towards his friend while jackson eyes stuck at derek who now has the powerful aura around him.
stiles call out your name, but he gets no response he looks around finding you laying on ground he hurries towards you assuming your just knocked out like Chris who now standing up.
Allison tense up beside scott, scott stands torn between staying near her wanting to goes towards you.
His eyes widen at when he sees the broken arrow pierced on your chest his legs feel shaky running towards you. yelling your name stiles stakes props you up on his laps shaking you.
Tears started to stream down on his face seeing the blood that still hot on his hands jackson broke out his trance as well hurrying towards you.
"Scott, what happened to her?" stiles look up his friend with devastating look on his face though his sadness quickly turned to anger when he is scott standing beside Allison who doesn't dare to look up to stiles. "Scott....?"
Jackson checks the pulse feeling a faint one but one nonetheless "stiles start the car." Jackson stands up carrying you.
"I can- "
"Come near her, I'll fucking kill you myself." Stiles cut off derek with such venom that made everyone look at him warily.
Stiles moves towards the Jackson's car jackson in his toe carrying you the backseat the take of his jacket and press the down the clothe around the half-broken arrow starting the car stiles speed of to the hospital.
Stiles eyes occasionally find your slumped figure on backseat in jackson arms, eyes closed and unmoving. the car drive off to the hospital.

hello i’m sorry but i was doing my little weekly tumblr check and the current fic you’re working on? o.m.g. 🙌
don't even apologize, I am so glad that you checked my pinned post to see what I'm working on because that's why I update it (so that people know what I'm working on and they can get excited about it <3)
I am assuming that you're talking about the Jackson fic, so for anybody who has not checked my pinned, here it is:
Currently Working On: The Curse of Curves aka the Hate Sex with Jackson Fic - Jackson Whittemore x Fem!Thick!Reader. Enemies Who Fuck/Hate Sex. Smut. (Set vaguely during Season 1). You and Jackson have always hated each other. Until - for him - that hatred becomes mixed with a weird lust, and makes him treat you even worse. So you shut him up the only way you know how - by shoving him against something and fucking the life out of him.
Me and @star-mum toss around SO MANY ideas in DMs, so I started a list of all our random Teen Wolf fic ideas and put numbers with them, so now whenever I am bored/feeling a fic itch, I go to that list and use a Random Number Generator to pick one. I have written two of them so far, and this will be the third (there's like 20 on the list and I don't expect to get through them all, but it's fun to have a lot of ideas to choose from).
Idk if I should post the list?? Or just have people surprised when I post the fics lmao. I am trying my hardest to have this fic done as a short and sweet oneshot before the poll gets finished so it will be
Get the first draft of the Jackson fic done and leave it unedited in my drafts -> edit and post the winner of the poll -> and then edit and post the Jackson fic
So I think the fics that will be posted within the upcoming weeks will be AMAZING if I do say so myself and if I can pat myself on the back a little lmao

Lost Love
Character: Derek Hale x male reader, Death/Dea (original) x male reader, mentioned Lydia Martin, Jackson Whittemore, and Eli Hale. (Scott never gets a mention)
Universe: Teen Wolf
Warnings: None
Authors note: Hello. I've finally dealt with another request, (Only three months after receiving it, I'm really late with my requests) and well, I may have to apologize. I had a lot of creative issues with it, from the timeline to all of the characters that were supposed to be involved. I might also forget a character, but since it's been three months, I don't feel like rewriting everything again. So I’m sorry @arekmaximoffkq but I hope you can enjoy it anyway.
"We can't win this alone!" That was a statement no one would have ever expected from their fearless True Alpha. No one ever thought that Scott McCall could feel hopeless by a threat. That was until the Legions of Darkness and the Hunters under Monroe, who could never be stopped, made a pact. It was a fragile one considering the Legions are supernaturals.
Either way, they found a common enemy. Scott McCall. Although the Legions have made massive strides to dominate the world, beginning in North America, he causes them too many problems with his alliance network.
"Before anyone says anything, I've already asked the Asian Dragons Alliance and United European Tribes, but apart from a few smaller groups within them, they can't help us much. They also fight the Legion on their continents.”
"We've never lost to anyone, Scott. Why should it be any different this time.”
"Because he's not here anymore, Liam." Derek was the one who reminded everyone of what had happened nearly fifteen years ago.
The room went silent from one moment to the next. A deadly atmosphere hung over their heads. Liam couldn't understand what was happening. He never understood when his pack went silent like this after something remembered them about someone he never got to know.
Lydia was the only one who never looked as sad as the others, she always did her best to look that way, but if people watched her closely, they could tell the subtle difference. She was also the only one who offered to help Liam and the other people who weren't around at the time.
Everyone accepted, even if it was just about getting out of the room. In Scott's kitchen, she was surrounded by a larger group, all staring at her, desperate for answers. And she told the tragic story. About her husband being possessed by a Nogitsune, causing him to more or less kill several people.
Scott had saved his girlfriend Allison but instead damned Derek's fiancé. The sword intended for the archer pierced the older man who was there only to protect the youths. Before Derek could reach him, his body dissolved, hatred in his eyes as he died. But worse, it didn't save Allison for long because just moments later, as she nocked another arrow on her bow, she was stabbed from behind and died in Scott's arms.
Since then, Derek hasn't been able to look Scott directly in the eye without wanting to kill him. Instead of just one death that day, there were two. And one of those deaths was so much more important than the other. Allison was just a formidable archer but useless in the long run. Even Lydia had to admit that as her best friend.
Derek’s fiancé - a powerful mage - did everything for them, protecting and even making sure that the threats they faced never got out of control.
To say the next generation wasn't impressed would be an understatement. They always looked up to Scott, his supposedly strong moral compass. But now they knew his true intentions; selfishness.
Lydia knew from day one you saw Scott for the vile person he actually is. She only saw it after a few years of being separated from him. Being under the same roof with him now made her sick. She could only see her best friend's dead face and Derek's broken face.
Now more and more people have been able to see it, although it doesn't change anything because Scott is still their Alpha. But at least now they know that most of his decisions are selfish and not for the greater good.
"So what can we do?" Mason asked Lydia, slowly getting restless himself.
The look she gave him, and the whole group spoke all the necessary words. "I don't think we can do anything. We can only hope it doesn't get any worse."
Lydia should never have said those words. Mere days later, the sudden appearance of the Oni, quickly followed by the Nogitsune they thought had been killed, and then someone who broke their fragile pack even more apart.
She had no choice but to get help herself.
With the rest of the pack still at home, Scott tried to keep everything together while getting his Allison back. Lydia was in Jackson's car with him and his husband. "Who are you looking for anyway? I thought the supernatural council already told Scott we couldn't help."
But she said nothing. Not ready to say anything.
Ethan had the idea right away, but his husband didn't. Jackson kept nudging Lydia. To the point where his husband put his hand over his babbling mouth before Lydia would overturn the car.
They spent the rest of their journey in absolute silence until they came to a private road. "Please wait here. Don't follow me, and please don't ruin this, okay?" Without even waiting for an answer, she exited the car.
As she walked up the street in high heels, her arrival could be heard far out. She never intended to be secretive, which worked well enough for her.
She could feel the heavy air everywhere, filled with so much raw magical power that she kept marveling that the animals that lived there didn't suffocate. For example, she never had trouble breathing, but once she got there, she could never take a single proper breath.
“If this is not Lydia Martin. We haven’t seen each other in a couple of years!“ Your voice suddenly called out to the banshee. Already used to your antics, she turned around but could not see you immediately. “Turn around again.“
And she did, slowly, but she did. With a big smile, you stood before her, a crown of flowers with red and white roses, without thorns in your hands. Without hesitation, you crowned her again as you normally do whenever she comes by.
"You never change, do you?"
"Nope." With another big smile, you pulled Lydia into your arms. "It's so nice to see you again!" After their brief hug, he put her arm around his. "Now tell me why you are here. Our next meeting was only a few months away.”
Lydia would have been a fool to think you didn't smell the need for her to come to you so early. She was many things, but stupid wasn't one of them.
"A lot of things happen, and I know you don't like it when I talk around, so I'll just ask you. Could you come and-"
"Dad!" The panicked voice of one of your sons jerked you away from Lydia. Before you could react, however, your two sons stood before you and Lydia, with someone you knew and someone you didn't. "We found these intruders and- Aunt Lydia, what are you doing here?"
"You two have grown." She was utterly surprised to see them standing so tall, which made her slightly uneasy, knowing she would have many questions that the man she was meeting would most likely won't like.
Luckily Jackson - who was brought by one of my sons - was doubled-over from feeling sick because of the teleportation.
Shaking your head in amusement, you couldn't hold back your snarky thought: "Jackson, are you still not used to this?" Your voice froze him in his tracks.
Slowly, very slowly, almost scarily he raised his head, his eyes though still fixated on the floor. Standing almost straight again he still did not dare look at you. Lydia told him that he could and with her reassurance he finally did. His eyes quickly filled with tears as he locked them with yours. His baby-blue eyes shimmered with shock but in a happy way.
Without warning, he lunged forward at a pace neither your sons nor you could do anything about. He pulled you into his arms, much more muscular than you remembered. Now he feels and looks a lot like a young Derek. Thinking about him always made you sad, which not only your sons felt this time.
Only Jackson was apparently unaware of this. "This is Ethan, my husband!" he told you excitedly, smiling cheek to cheek, ignoring the fact that you were not dead and standing still alive in front of him.
You gently cupped his face, which now looked much older than yours. Just another curse of your existence. "I will meet your handsome husband in a moment. But before, how are you and your parents?" His face darkened. "You forgot what you promised me, didn't you?" Shame crossed his face for a short moment. He became the little boy you met when you moved to Beacon Hills, who just found out he was adopted again.
You saved him from getting hit by a car, talked to him, and brought him back to his parents in the evening. For years you tried to get him to see them for who they are; but you were unsuccessful. You finally got through his thick skull, but you died before Jackson, his parents, and you could meet again.
"Then we must do it soon. They are not getting any younger and deserve to be loved by you. After all, they raised you. But I also have to blame them for spoiling you little shit!” You jokingly shook his head with your hands, ruffling his perfect hair. It eventually brought a small smile to his face.
Booping his nose brought back many sweet memories with little Jackson and even moody teenager Jackson. Slowly you pulled your hands away from him. In the same movement, he turned and looked at the other man, who finally rose from his slouching position.
"Ethan is your name, right?" you asked in a dangerously low voice that sent a cold sweat down his son's back. He nodded and swallowed hard. "I think this little rascal over here told you about me?" You glanced back and forth at the couple with a raised eyebrow.
"My big brother," Jackson whispered to his husband to refresh his memory. Suddenly, Ethan's eyes widened with shock and realization.
His body suddenly went stiff. He even held out his hand to most likely properly greet you.
“Hey, little brat?“
“Yes?“
"How come you've got not only a handsome man but also a well-mannered one while still being the same obnoxious brat?"
He could see your cheeky, teasing grin that had torn holes in his heart so many times before, believing the hurtful things you said until you made it clear it wasn't meant like that.
However, Ethan knew nothing about it.
"Because Jackson is an amazing man, passionate, gentle, romantic-"
"He didn't mean it like that. He complimented us both."
"What? He attacked you!"
Both Jackson and you looked at each other, giggling at his words. "Brat is my nickname for him because that's what I called him the first we met. He is and remains obnoxious to me because although he has a hard, unfriendly demeanor on the outside, he has a heart of gold. I'm just glad he hasn't changed."
Horror filled Ethan's eyes as you explained the rather adorable things you had to say about his husband. You could see that he wanted to fall into a hole right then and there.
Without a word, you suddenly stood before him and put one of your hands on his cheek. "If you hurt my little boy, I will kill you and destroy your body on a molecular level, dissolve you, and destroy every memory anyone ever had of you, understood?"
At first, he seemed amused by the innocuous-sounding threat, but when he looked into your eyes, he knew it wasn't a joke. Eyes wide, you pulled him into a hug. "Welcome to the family!" In your arms, you whispered something else in his ear, a threat he couldn't ignore, but you made sure no one else could hear.
As you pulled away smiling, Jackson smiled too without looking at his husband, who looked pale, horrified at you.
"Now, can someone explain why you're all here?"
“Scott needs your help.“
"No." You turn and motion for your boys to come with you. Even though they were intrigued by the name Lydia mentioned, they followed you anyway.
"We need your help," Jackson pointed out. Looking into your eyes melted your heart a little, but you still couldn't.
With gentle eyes, you looked at the boy who was like a little brother to you. You still had to say it, even though you didn't want to: "No. I'm sorry, but I can't."
Jackson's face twisted, hurt at my refusal to help him. "If you had asked me, I would have done it immediately, but not with this boy and possibly the man who let me die." Suddenly the ground shook under your words, and time flew by, just for you to reverse it again.
"No one would be safe without your help!" Lydia tried again, but you waved your hand and teleported her back to their vehicle. Your boys wanted to know what it was about, but you couldn't tell them. They only know the bare minimum, and you want it to stay that way.
Days went by without Lydia trying to contact you again. You have feared for the safety of those who have been good to you, but you cannot save them every time they get into trouble. You were working on the ranch when you felt something strange.
One moment you were standing in one of the barns, and the next at the edge of your property. "What do you two are doing there?"
Your sons were jumping around in utter fear. One of the few rules they have to follow is that they can't leave the property without you.
"We have to help them!" the elder twin said bluntly while his younger brother had his eyes on the floor.
"You want to see your father, don't you?" That question silenced him immediately. "Don't worry. He won't die. He's like a cockroach. He comes out of everything with a few little bruises and maybe a few wounds.”
But they were determined to help Scott's pack. You could see it in his eyes and later even in his brother's eyes when he finally looked up at you. When they saw your eyes glow purple, magical energy flowed around you, and a moment later, the bubble that kept the ranch hidden from supernatural beings. It as well saved it from natural disasters.
They stared at you in surprise as your eyes went back to normal. "Then go. But not with all your abilities. You can teleport to them but not back or anywhere. Your powers will be minimal."
After that, you just disappeared, hurt, disappointed, and proud simultaneously. Being able to feel your boys teleport away, a strange pain immediately filled your chest. At first, slowly, and then suddenly, you winded in pain. Somehow able to suppress it, you walked back into your house, taking a book out, trying to just forget about it.
Just a sentence in, you were unable to concentrate anymore. For minutes you just stared at the filled pages before you threw it away, awaiting to hear it land on the floor.
All the alarm bells went off in your head at once because that sound never came. Ready to rip some heads off, you were suddenly frozen in place. "Finally, we meet again!"
"That's impossible!" you called out loudly through clenched teeth. "I killed you!"
Suddenly there was a child in front of you and next to him a middle-aged man. "You killed one of us and we want his powers back, you filthy mortal!"
The child was about to touch you. His small hand was outstretched to do whatever he wanted to you when suddenly a spear pierced his head. Blood splattered everywhere. Gasping in shock, he fell to the ground and disappeared. Only to reappear shortly thereafter. "I am the past! You cannot kill me!" Anger emanates from the small body, much more than a child should be able to feel.
You had an intense desire to contest this but believed it might be a while before you would find something that could actually kill this spoiled brat.
In complete contrast stood the middle-aged man. "We just want grandfather time back. After that, we'll leave you alone... forever."
Anger surged back through your body, reminding you of how they tried to erase your existence multiple times, the first being right at your birth. "No!" you told him after lashing out with your powers and destroying his body in no time.
"You'll see," the same middle-aged guy suddenly told you from the other side. “Maybe you can kill my son, the past because the past is quickly forgotten. And maybe even my father because the future hasn't been written yet." Out of nowhere, without you even feeling him move, he leaned in with his mouth next to your ear. "I am the present, omnipresent, unkillable except when the universe implodes in on itself."
The anger you were feeling did not subside. It even became worse, as his words felt like a looming threat to you. „What if I kill your son as well? Wouldn’t I be the controller of the present, through manipulation of past and future?“
The man smiled for the first time. "You're a lot smarter than I thought." After that, his voice softened a lot. "I allow you to keep the future, but use it wisely. You are a part of me now, and I am one of you, don't risk the balance of nature. At least no more than you have already done. You perversion of nature!"
You fell over as time worked again and lay on the floor while the middle-aged man crouched in front of his arms on his thighs. "You and your sons are abominations, an error of a magical nature. Therefore, in order to have the foresight of future events will be useful, but you must protect the universe with your power and that of your children! If not, we will find a way to kill you like we did the one who freed people's minds giving them absolute freedom."
Now that a real threat was being uttered, chills ran through your blood went cold – almost as cold as ice – you could already tell that his words were not empty.
You agreed with him. Though you knew you were powerful, you doubted there was any chance for you to win against something or someone so fundamental to the workings of the universe itself.
He smiled at you. A smile so malicious that fear was no longer the right word; you were horrified by this man. Somehow he must have sensed this because he turned to his son: who glared at you but took his father's hand.
They disappeared suddenly and without a trace; no magic, not even a smell.
Startled by this event, you fell back in your seat, exhausted and angered by your passive behavior. Maybe it was finally time to show everyone just how powerful you really are and not just give them some showings of lesser magical abilities you harbor. But where?
The pain that was gone came back a thousand times stronger than before. A scream so high you thought your vocal cords would eventually tear apart came out of you. It felt like your heart was exploding into a million pieces.
In a panic, you suddenly found yourself in a school that you had to attend many times considering you were - under normal circumstances - still would be, the mother figure of a pack of supernaturals.
Only now, you see older versions of all the teens you helped grow, broaden their horizons, and more. They fight the same enemy you died against. Right in the middle were your children - they were more of a hindrance than a real part of the struggle. Without much of their powers, they are almost useless.
You were watching the fight, but soon a girl - the cause of your death - snuck up behind the group and your sons.
You watched wide-eyed as she put an arrow in her bow, drew it, and let it fly. Your eyes followed the line of it exactly. As you realized where it would end up, a burning hatred began to flare in your veins. Not only was she the cause of your death, but now she was after your children?
A burst of raw magical energy shattered the illusion of the time - in which you were being held. With the smell of revenge in your nostrils and the tingling in your fingers, your scene changed again, only this time it was your own doing.
***
How can that be? Where did these two guys come from? And why do they look so like... him? My mind was racing as two boys about eighteen suddenly shoved Eli and me out of the way of danger, and then their hands glowed in that familiar color.
With only a few movements of their hands, they threw away the Onis with absolute ease. It reminded me even more of him. Honestly, everything reminds me of him, especially these days. Watching Eli grow up didn't make it any better. Maybe he would have stayed, even after what I did. But no, I had to be selfish and believe that she would stay with me.
Before I could ask them if they knew of him, they had summoned magic to forge weapons and engaged the Onis in sword fights.
Soon most of the Onis came to their comrade's aid and pushed both boys to their limits. First, their magic began to flicker before it just…disappeared.
As I watched them fight against those who had killed my one true love, I had this strange feeling, as if it was my duty to protect these young men as if they were my own flesh and blood.
"Get out of the way!" The boys only looked at me in shock, not moving at all. It forced Eli to suddenly transform, to push the other boys to the ground. Even though no blood was spilled or flesh pierced, my heart stopped even thinking that any of the three might have been injured.
Just as I wanted to scold my son, I froze in place, seeing the light-breaking shine of the sword rushing down.
A growl escaped my dry lips, my sore throat already dying, but not even that could stop the Oni from its hatred-filled attack against the three.
Since my body was too weak to move, even as a werewolf, I became too tired after hours of fighting. I could only watch as my son, the only good thing in my life that I ended up doing, would die right before my eyes.
Tears were already welling up in my eyes as the sword went deeper and deeper, now piercing his skin.
A sudden burst of violet light blinded me from seeing the death of my only loved one left. Screaming his name on a tongue that scolded and disciplined him more times than was necessary. I couldn't hold back my tears over the death of my son! He had to die without being able to see me: his father. Even though I was the worst father imaginable, I was still his father. Not being able to comfort my son in his last seconds of life will be the second worst experience of my life. It was hard enough living without the light of my life. But without my son? I could make my own life there!
"Don't go near my sons, you hellspawn!"
I... I know that voice! That voice... so soft and yet stern at the same time, it put all my hair up almost immediately.
I could only hear its magic crackling and things colliding. I could only imagine what had happened. But slowly, very slowly, the blindness - from the bright light - wore off. From blurred eyes, I saw a silhouette fighting like a monster against the real monster attacking us.
"Are you both all right?" His voice again, his beautiful voice. "I warned you, outside of the bubble, you will not be able to use your full power. As my sons, your powers are immeasurable. Therefore, it will take time and discipline to unlock your abilities again!”
Hearing his voice scolding these young men and calling them his "sons" almost broke me. They seem so old! How is that possible? Did he have these kids before we met?
Before I could ask, however, I felt a burning pair of eyes on me and saw one of the twins pointing at me. When his eyes met mine, it was as if I hadn't been dazzled by his striking entry: my eyes could take in all of him. I could see its raw beauty right in front of me. He never had to do anything to look good, but now? He was gorgeous, just as young as I had met him.
But his eyes didn't show me the same love as they used to. There was disgust and anger in them instead. Of course, I deserve both, but it still hurt me.
"Dad, are you okay?" Even though I've never treated Eli the way he deserves, he still cares about me, which made my heart skip a beat.
"Dad? How old are you?" My veins turned cold, freezing even, hearing the angry voice of my true love. I just realized that if he knew Eli's age, he would know the whole truth.
At first, Eli didn't realize he was being addressed like the clueless boy he always was. It warmed my heart a bit. But soon, he must have felt the twinkling eyes on him because he turned and asked his question again. Eli, almost forced to speak now, looked at me confused, almost scared, but I nodded, not wanting to know what he would say or do.
"I-I'm fifteen, s-sir."
Sir? Eli was never that well-behaved or reclusive person who respects strangers.
His eyes widened instantly, and the anger turned to pain as his hand flew over his heart, pinched his skin, and even a tear found its way to the corner of his eye.
"Who was it, Derek?" He was speaking to me, speaking directly to me, and I could hear him! But does that mean... he's alive?
Just now, realizing that I wasn't actually hallucinating, I nearly shit my pants lying on the floor, bruised and sore.
"Who did you cheat on me with? Fifteen years..."
There was no way I could lie to him again as I had so many years ago. "It was Breadon."
"Are you serious?" There was only disappointment in his eyes, and I could only feel the same. I feel ashamed of myself every day. Even though Eli came out of it, I still feel terrible.
"She died ten years ago. But she left right after the birth, leaving Eli and me alone. I thought if you weren't there, my heart would be hers. But we soon realized that neither of us loved the other, and I didn't date anyone else after..." A lump in my throat kept me from spilling out everything I could think of.
"You betrayed me? Let me die like I didn't mean anything?" He could hardly contain his anger but did his best, most likely for his sons and not for me. "You know what the funniest thing is? I was so in love with you that I would have forgiven you for cheating on me and getting a woman pregnant."
It was like a dagger piercing my heart when I heard that. Hearing those words of love once more, I realized in the next moment that my life could have been so much sweeter with that man. A man so deeply in love with me to forgive the worst betrayal of all.
***
When you saw Derek again, you felt a sudden outburst of hatred, but hearing that his life was so bad made it... subside, just like that. He's a lot worse off than you are now. It gave you a kind of satisfaction you never knew you needed.
"Get up, you pathetic man, and fight. I won't do it all by myself." Derek looked up in surprise when you spoke to him in a disgusting tone like that. "As I did with the hunters and the Legion of Darkness!" you mumbled softly afterward.
Derek stared at you in absolute shock. He knew you were strong fifteen years ago, but this?
A hiss came out of nowhere. A tone Derek and all other werewolves know all too well. You heard it often before as well. Far away was someone you knew should be dead. The arrow she released was in line with you. Without even trying to get out of the way, use your magic to surround the projectile to deflect it in a different direction or stop it mid-air.
Knowing this was the only way it could go: you turned back to Derek. Only for the arrow to pierce your shoulder. It only got stopped by your bone.
For a second, you were shocked, only to feel the dark magic of another being. The Nogitsune - a powerful spirit - could not simply be killed, as you now know.
“Hmm… I should have been prepared for that. After all, his disgusting smell is all over this damn place!”
"Dad, what are you talking about?"
"That stupid Nogitsune. As always, Scott can't do anything right.”
Just as Derek opened his mouth, you stared at him, effectively silencing him before he could even utter a single sound.
"Huhu... Death, where are you?" Your voice sweet as sugar. Your sons already know this sound, and Derek did it too. Only Eli was confused, but even he broke out in a terrible sweat. "Do I have to go up there and beat your ass again?"
Just as your threat sounded, an extremely low chuckle could be heard from somewhere. A smile graced your beautiful face when you heard it.
"I think you got it the wrong way around." His heavy footsteps echoed through the school corridors.
"Uncle Dea!" your two sons shouted and jumped into the man's arms.
He laughed heartily at this warming gesture; A six-foot and seven-inch-tall man was tall enough for your two boys to hold on to, and his muscular torso, wrapped in a himation - white lose clothes - showed off his big, muscular pecs and his eight-pack. In your eyes, he was and always will be the most handsome man in any world or realm.
Soon he was pulling your sons away, his eyes fixed on you. "What did I do to annoy you this time, sweetheart?" His deep bass voice is so dark it sends shivers down your spine. He slowly moved towards you while your knees were already weakening. "It's so nice to see you again after all these years."
"I'd say the same thing... if there wasn't someone you promised me the last time we saw each other is dead and in heaven." Irritated, especially by your disrespectful tone, he slightly angled his head, almost as if he wanted to warn you. But as he followed your outstretched index finger, his eyebrows suddenly jumped up in confusion.
"What the hell is she doing here? Her soul should be at peace!” he muttered angrily to himself as a book appeared in his hand. As he flipped through it, more and more arrows flew in your guy's direction. Strangely enough, your magic still couldn't protect you from them. All you guys could do was evade them.
Until the atmosphere suddenly changed, darkness blossomed from a place where you only knew warmth. Death glowed in that atmospheric-changing darkness, ready to devour all life.
"Someone stole her soul and gave her a new body!" he roared loudly, his voice deafening, exploding all the windows and even doors around us. It even threw Allison off balance, forcing her to the ground and snapping her bowstring.
"Can you do something about it?"
"Do I look like a wizard?" After a moment's pause, his dark eyes met yours, "Don't answer that, or I'll have to spank you later."
An angry blush appeared on your face. "Not like a wizard, but a really hot farmer, at least with the scythe."
His dark eyes swallowed you whole; it was pure lust, but deep down, also love. "Even if your god were still alive, not even he would be able to save you from me when I get you later alone." He licked his plump lips, causing an immense lump to form in your throat, making it impossible for you to breathe effectively. "But I can't do anything at the moment. Someone has to kill the body the hunter girl is in before I can take her soul this time, so she can never be reborn.”
Cracking your fingers and neck, your eyes were solely on the huntress. Knowing that only you would kill that bitch, because everyone else is riding Scott’s dick, trying to make this joke of an Alpha happy.
Before you could cast a single spell at her, the same useless Alpha had his claws rammed into your chest. Determination in his eyes as you two looked at each other, on eye level.
"No!" suddenly, a familiar voice sounded behind you. In a flash, dark hair pushed Scott away from you. His claws ripped from your chest before the Alpha had a chance to crush your heart.
Breathing heavily in pain, you bend over to hide the true extent of the pain. "Dad!"
"Don't worry. I'm okay. Angry, but okay." You smiled at your two sons, who immediately came to your side, each holding an arm. Just then, you glanced over at them. "Lydia? Jackson? If any of you ever come to me to ask for another favor and still be associated with Scott... you'll wish you had jumped into lava because the death you would suffer at my hands will even make the devil blush! "
Lydia has known for a long time that you hated Scott, and over time she realized that your hatred was not unfounded. Especially after Stiles' death, which was also his fault, leaving her with two young children, the last born a month after her husband's tragic death.
Jackson wasn't even a part of the McCall Pack, but as an old ally and somewhat friend to the 'True Alpha‘ he still does his bidding if asked nicely.
They both looked at each other, their friendship still there, even after all these years. They talked silently before nodding at each other. They quickly switched from Scotts' side to yours.
In all honesty, you knew these two would come to your side before you even issued that ultimatum. Especially Jackson. If he didn't already know, he would soon learn that you've always taken care of him.
"Please, look after my boys. I'll take care of this devil spawn!” Allison was Lydia's best friend. You knew it was hard for her, but she had cried after her long enough. She's a smart cookie and aware that Allison is dead, and it isn't okay that she is back, especially not for nature, to which Lydia is close herself.
Using your magic, you lifted yourself into the air and flew to where Allison was last seen.
But when you got there, only her ruined bow was left. Before you could react, a knife was in your thigh. Groaning in pain, you pulled out the dagger and threw it at her, only hitting the wall behind her. Because she was already gone again, cursing under your breath, you began to search for her again.
A massive salvo of knives hit you quickly, your entire left side being scratched, punctured, or sliced open by them.
At that point, you had it with these games. You jumped from room to room with your powers and found them soon enough. With your magic around her neck, you imprisoned her; Before you could finish her little game by killing her stolen body, someone or something pulled her back and cut off the magic holding Allison in place. You were confronted with a being that had once been human, mummified, but it was still obvious.
You were the only person who could fight the Nogitsune. In your opinion, Stiles was always useless, but you have to give him one thing: he was an intelligent guy and the only one who could outwit a dark being like this. Without him, only you and your brute strength could be an enemy to him.
Meanwhile, the others tried to capture Allison despite her being faster, smarter than ever, and most horrifically deadlier.
"I swear by all the dead gods, if Scott had ever been responsible enough to kill his damn enemies, none of this bullshit would ever have happened!"
With renewed anger, even hatred, seething so deep in your soul that something strange happened, something painful.
Your magical core, which many people call 'soul' exploded, not in a destructive but an opening way as if nature had accepted your requests and could finally see the value in your existence.
Even the dark being, fueled by hatred, fear, and anger, suddenly became afraid. Your son's, just as you experienced something similar. Their eyes glow a purple hue, just like yours. But unlike you, their other side - they inherited from your ex-fiancé - has broken away from the many walls you built inside them.
For the first time in fifteen years of their lives, they transformed. The boys knew they could have done that from birth because of their vast magical abilities. But as they did so, the walls around them crumbled with their enormous size.
At that moment, you pulled yourself out of your pain and helped your sons control their magic that could shatter the very fabric of existence. Although slightly smaller, they are still at least five times larger than a regular wolf. In unison, they howled loudly, startling the nogitsune even more and making it tremble with terrible fear. You gathered magic in a ball of violet energy and threatened the dark being that tried to flee but failed this time. As it slowly began to warp into the shadows, you blocked the shadow, isolating it from everything else. Shocked, the Nogitsune tried to escape, but the magic-like handcuffs pulled on all four of his limbs.
"What must I do to keep you away from the mortal realm?" you asked him, sighing heavily. You looked away from that for a second, mostly for dramatic effect, over to Dea. Strangely, he pointed to where the Nogitsune was. But when you looked back, he was gone again. "Are you fucking SERIOUS?" Your voice echoed loudly through the school hallways, alerting everyone that something was beyond wrong.
Pissed off, you were going to blow up the whole building. But out of nowhere, the younger of your twins pulled something out of a shadow. A leg. But only one leg, not the whole dark being, but at least part of it.
Frantically, the leg tried to get out of his sharp teeth, but your son held it tight and carried it over to you with a toothy doggy grin.
Instead of pulling it out, you put it in a purple magic prison. Separate it from his body. Immediately after that, it stopped moving but stayed there. Although it was no longer bound to his body, it still existed.
It wasn't long before your younger son was carrying Allison, also in his mouth, mauled by him. A gasp could be heard from the sidelines, a hurt, irritated one. "If you dare touch one of my sons, Scott, I will maim you in ways you can't even imagine!" You didn't even look at him, but your voice told him the threat was real and near. So he quickly withdrew.
Your son threw Allison to your feet; her body was bleeding badly. "Finally, I can do what was supposed to happen!" Without guilt, you formed a sharp weapon in your hand and raised your arm to strike. As the blade swung through the air, but you had to stop as Scott jumped in front of his ex-girlfriend. You weren't shocked at all. He built everything around her, and she is with him now. Jumping from girl to girl, even dating his former best friend's ex-girlfriend, like a cliché player in romantic high school movies.
Instead of killing her, you sliced him with the blade. He cried out in agony as his skin began to burn slightly. “It won't heal, Scott. Any cut I give you with this blade that might heal will leave permanent scars.”
But he didn't seem to care because he stood there, teeth clenched. So you slashed him again and again... and again. You soon found yourself enjoying causing pain to this narcissistic little boy who never grew up.
"My love!" His deep voice finally snapped you out of your crimson thoughts of revenge. Dea's hand on your shoulder, his eyes looking at you with concern.
A slightly embarrassed blush rose to your cheeks. You averted your eyes far from him. But he pulled you into his arms. As you began to sob softly, your two sons came to your side and wrapped Dea and you in their united arms. Warmth, a happy and hopeful warmth, welled up in your broken heart.
When all eyes were on your little family, even the pain and jealousy of your first love, no one heard the bloody gasp at your side. Not even you until you felt something drip down your arm. Looking slightly down, there was a red substance. As your eyes looked around some more, you found the origin.
Scott sat up, his mouth bloody and a blade sticking out of his body, piercing his heart. "The mage is right. You really should have killed me when you had the chance!" An ominous chuckle followed those words.
Your eyes widened in shock as they flew toward the magical prison. Only one leg remained from the bandaged leg: a female leg. As your eyes darted back to Allison, you could see her skin slowly peeling off, revealing the Nogitsune.
When you tried to hit it with your magic sword, it disappeared. Leaving its blade pierced in Scott's chest. But you didn't give a damn; his alpha status should never have happened anyway. Maybe now someone more worthy could be elevated to this status.
At that moment, there was something more urgent. Telepathically, you told your sons to look for the real Allison. It didn't take long for them to find her: hiding behind some desks. But they just howled, which meant they couldn't carry her, so you walked past the dying Scott into the classroom and closed the door.
Soon you came out again, not a hair out of place. “Our work is done here. Lydia, Jackson, and even Ethan, you know where to find us. I'd be happy to host you whenever you want. Maybe next Christmas?” Ignoring Scott, who made his death so melodramatic.
Before you could leave, however, Derek pulled you aside. "Why didn't you ever tell me I had children?"
"Why didn't you ever tell me you cheated?" I stared at him for an answer. "Of course, no answer. Due to my short death, I had to put more magical energy into them. Their bodies became too weak to sustain the immense magical pressure. I had to kill one of the three gods of time to force their bodies to age to keep them alive. I suffered great pains to give birth and keep them alive. Now they look like eighteen-year-old men but are actually only fifteen. I'll keep them sealed for another three years, then if they want to have contact with you, they can. But I won't."
"Neither will we." your two boys said in unison as they look at their father in disgust.
It brought a smile to your face. As you teleported back up with your sons, you looked at Derek one last time. "I wanted to tell you the day I died. At least the blade cutting me down showed me the real you. I hope you never find love again and die despised by most.”
Before that day, you never told your sons what happened, only that something happened that forced you to get away from their father. You always wanted them to form their own picture of their father.
He tried to grab you, but luckily you got away just in time. Derek stayed there, his hand grasping air.
"Three more years... I have to train more people to be able to retire by then and finally marry this man!" Death himself murmured softly. It immediately caught Derek's attention. "Oh, I am sorry. The man you cheated on and I've been with for several years. I fell in love with him when he won against me: the first time anyone's won, for that matter. At least I'd never betray him.” The smug grin on Death's ice-cold face had been enough to make Derek wince in fear.
Unfortunately, you didn't witness his fear of your one true love: a man, an otherworldly being just like you. But no matter how much you despise Derek, you will forever be grateful for your relationship with him for giving you your two beautiful boys.
However, for now, you will most likely have to cuddle them to make the day's horrible events go away.

Wolf’s Bane 1x09
Episode 10
A pair of headlights flash into Fallon’s eyes as she roughly turns the wheel to Derek’s sleek black Camaro. Stiles is in the seat next to her, Scott in the back. She’s pushing around sixty miles per hour in a twenty-five mile zone, but with the person in the large SUV behind them, she’s getting dangerously close to just flooring it.
“Fallon, if you could stop driving like a freaking grandmother, that would be great!” Stiles chides sarcastically.
“If I go any faster, I’m gonna flip, Stiles!” She snaps, turning a sharp corner causing the car to lift up on one side slightly. “Besides, I am not crashing Derek’s car. He would have my head on a stick!”
The brunette and Scott had managed to make up not long after the full moon. While the words he said still stung, his apology was pretty awesome. He showed up to her house with a bouquet of moonflowers, her favorite, and a whole box of pizza for them to share. He also spent ninety percent of the night groveling and telling her to slap him for what he said, which she never did, but she appreciated the sentiment.
Hence why she’s now part of some elaborate plan to confuse the police and hunters of Derek’s whereabouts. The three teens are driving his car while Derek chases after the Alpha as the police are chasing him. But they are also chasing the trio. They don’t know how the plan came into action, but it’s way too late to stop now.
“Fallon, I really don’t think you’re grasping the concept of a car chase, here!” Stiles yells at her again.
“I’m not going any faster! It’ll kill us,” she tries to reason with him.
“Well, if you don’t go any faster, they’re gonna kill us!” He turns to point to the hunters chasing them, but the SUV seems to have disappeared. “They’re gone.”
“Damn it,” Fallon grumbles, taking that as her sign to floor it. “Derek, if I crash your car… please don’t kill me,” she whispers.
Stiles turns his police radio on and the voice of his father echoes through the car, “All units, suspect is on foot, heading into the iron works.”
“Copy that,” the girl replies, speeding up before turning down a dark alleyway she knows leads to the iron works. They see a small explosion and a few hunters loading their weapons as Derek lays on the ground. The brunette rolls down the passenger side window, forcing Stiles into the back as she skids to an unsafe stop. “Get in!” She yells.
Shots are fired as the werewolf runs as fast as he can, jumping expertly through the small window and sliding in next to Fallon. She pushes her foot to the floor as bullets bounce off the side of the Camaro. The tires screech loudly as she zooms out of the iron works. “Oh so now you go over a hundred,” Stiles snarks. “Just because Derek’s in the car?”
“No, you idiot. Because we’re being shot at!” She yells, while glaring at him through the rearview mirror. “Now shut up and let me drive,”
“God, Derek, what part of laying low don’t you understand?” Scott asks frustratedly.
“Damn it, I had him!” Derek exclaims, completely ignoring Scott.
“Who?” Stiles leans forward from his spot beside Scott. “The Alpha?”
“Yes!” Derek scoffs impatiently. “He was right in front of me, and the freakin’ police showed up,” he growls under his breath out of pure annoyance.
“Whoa! Hey, they’re just doing their jobs–” Stiles tries to defend his fathers and his deputies choice of profession, but is cut off by Derek throwing a glare his way.
“Yeah, thanks to someone who decided to make me the most wanted fugitive in the entire state!” Derek snaps sarcastically. Stiles opens and closes his mouth, not knowing how to defend himself. Scott has his guilty face on while Fallon puts her finger up, offended.
“Okay, first of all, I never agreed with anything they said to the police. I just said I wanted to go home. Your name never came out of my mouth,” she argues.
“Both hands on the wheel!” Derek yells at her, gripping her right hand and placing it firmly around the steering wheel.
“Stop yelling at me!” Fallon screams back at him, making the man raise his eyebrows at her.
“Did you really just yell at me to get me to stop yelling at you?”
“Okay!” Stiles cuts them both off. “Can we get back on track please? You said you had the Alpha. How did you find him?”
Derek stays silent, not revealing his information to any of them. Scott scoffs at his immature behavior, “Can you trust us for at least half a second.”
“No,” he responds bluntly.
“Fallon? Can you trust Fallon?” Stiles asks quickly.
“Yes.”
Stiles’ eyes widen. His brain short circuits before he grips onto the head of Derek’s chair. “Are you serious? You trust her? He asks offendedly. “How about all three of us?”
“Or just me,” Fallon smiles smugly at Stiles through the rearview mirror. “We all know he’s not gonna trust you guys any time soon. So why don’t we just let him explain?”
Derek nods, turning to physically only address Fallon. “Look, the last time I talked to my sister, she was close to figuring something out. She found two things. The first was a guy named Harris.”
Harris. As in Adrian Harris? Their chemistry teacher? While she would love to believe that he’s a murderous Alpha werewolf so there could be a reason to explain his rude behavior, he just doesn’t seem like the supernatural type. The man himself is a jerk, but not enough to be running around at night killing people. In fact, he seems like the person to be more afraid of a werewolf rather than being one. Or is that what the Alpha wants them all to think?
“Our chemistry teacher?” Stiles asks in just as much disbelief as Fallon.
The girl turns the car down another quiet side road as Scott furrows his eyebrows, “Why him?”
“I don’t know yet,” Derek answers.
“What’s the second thing?” Fallon asks, briefly looking towards Derek.
Derek reaches into his pocket and pulls out a folded up piece of paper. He unfolds it so they can all see it clearly and holds it up for them to see. It’s a wolf inside of what could possibly be a pendant. “Some kind of symbol,” Derek says. When Scott gets a good look at it, he groans quietly, rolling his eyes. “What? You know what this is?” The man questions aggressively, needing answers sooner rather than later.
“I’ve seen it on a necklace,” Scott sighs. “Allison’s necklace.”
“Oh, what a relief,” Fallon snarks. “That shouldn’t pose an issue.”
· · ────── ·𖥸· ────── · ·
Scott pushes the door to the high school open, Fallon and Stiles following behind him. The werewolf huffs, “This is gonna be impossible, you know.” He tells them pessimistically.
“Why can’t one of you two just ask her to borrow it?” Stiles suggests. “I mean, she doesn’t hate Fallon.”
“It would still raise a couple of questions if I just randomly asked for her necklace, Stiles,” Fallon points out. “Her family barely trusts me as it is.”
“Weren’t you over there just the other day?” The boy questions.
“Yes,” Fallon nods. “But that doesn’t mean they’re gonna be totally fine with me just taking Allison’s necklace. They’ll want an explanation.”
“So just lie,” Stiles shrugs. “You’re good at that.”
“Thank you?” She furrows her eyebrows. “But I’m still not gonna do it. Her mom scares me.”
Stiles groans overdramatically, throwing his head back, “Scott?” He asks hopefully.
“How would I even get it from her?”
“It's easy! You just say, ‘Hey, Allison, can I borrow your necklace to see if there's anything on it or in it that can lead me to an Alpha Werewolf that I need to kill in order to get back together with you?’” Stiles answers unseriously.
“You’re not helping,” Scott glares at him.
“Why don’t you just talk to her?”
“She won’t talk to me,” Scott huffs. “What if she, like, only takes it off in the shower or something?”
“That's why you ease… that's why you ease back into it, okay?” He pats Scott’s shoulders. “Get back on her good side. Remind her of the good times. And then you ask for the necklace.“
Fallon can see the distant look on Scott’s eyes, “You’re thinking about her in the shower aren’t you?” She asks monotonously.
“…Yeah,” he admits sheepishly.
“All right. Stay focused, okay?” Stiles shakes him straight. “Get the necklace. Get the Alpha. Get cured. Get Allison. In that order. Got it?”
Scott nods, “Get the necklace.”

The school day had been pretty uneventful for Fallon. She had gone to her classes as normal, finished some homework, read a couple chapters of her book, and doodled in some of her notebooks. She thought she’d be able to get through the whole day with something terrible happening, until Scott came up to her and Stiles and informed them that Jackson “knows what he is.”
“How the hell did he even find out?” The girl asks questioningly. “What could’ve given it away?”
“I have no idea,” Scott replies nervously.
“Did he say it out loud?” Stiles waves his hands around worriedly. “The word?”
“What word?”
“Werewolf,” Stiles whispers loud enough for only them to hear. “Did he say ‘I know you’re a werewolf?’”
“No,” Scott sighs impatiently. “But he implied it pretty freaking clearly!”
“Okay, maybe it’s not as bad as we’re making it out to be,” Fallon says calmly. “I mean, he doesn’t technically have any proof of it, right?”
“Exactly,” Stiles nods. “And if he wanted to tell someone, who would believe him, anyway?”
“How about Allison’s father?” Scott says pointedly. He’s right. If Jackson were to tell Chris or Kate for that matter, Scott would have to go into hiding for the rest of his life.
“…Okay, it’s bad,” Fallon rubs the back of her neck.
“I need a cure– right now,” Scott insists desperately.
“Does he know about Allison’s father?” Stiles looks at Scott curiously.
“I don’t know.”
Stiles puts his hand out, stopping Fallon and Scott from moving any further. “Okay, where’s Derek?” He questions, wondering if the older man could be of some assistance.
“Hiding like we told him to,” Fallon answers with a shrug. “Why?”
“I have another idea…” he says mischievously. “It’s gonna take a little time and finesse, though.”
Fallon bites the inside of her cheek. Time and finesse with Stiles usually means something that is bordering illegal. The last time he used those specific words was when he wanted to take Fallon to the candy store downtown at one in the morning and lower her down through the air ducts because they were closed. His reasoning was “I really want salt water taffy.”
“Stiles, we have the quarterfinals tonight,” Fallon reminds him seriously. “And keep in mind, it’s also your first game. We can’t do anything to risk that, especially since your dad is coming.”
“I know, I know…” he waves her off, but she knows that with whatever he’s planning, something could definitely go wrong. He looks back at Scott, “Look do you have a plan for Allison yet?”
“She’s in my next class.”
Stiles pats his shoulder, “Get the necklace.” He grabs Fallon’s hand, pulling her along behind him, “And you are coming with me.”
Fallon’s heart sinks as she realizes now that she must be an instrumental part in his scheme. She turns back to Scott and mouths, ‘help me.’
· · ────── ·𖥸· ────── · ·
“You sent her romantic photos of the two of you?” Fallon asks in disbelief as she sits down in her seat at the lunch table across from Scott, Stiles sitting next to her. Allison had just ran to Fallon in complete tears, pulling her out of her class. Scott had sent her photos of them being close and lovey with each other which only made the poor girl feel guilty for her decision. While Fallon believes she was a bit over dramatic and rash in deciding to break up with Scott, he took the absolute wrong route to try and get the necklace. “What the hell were you thinking? I mean, there’s no way you actually thought that would get her to give you the necklace.”
“I didn’t even think it was that bad,” Scott frowns. “I thought it was sweet.”
Scott, she already feels like crap for dumping you,” Fallon points out. “Sending her those photos was like a punch to the gut. No wonder she told you not to talk to her anymore. There were so many better ways to have handled that.”
“I didn’t mean to hurt her,” he says quietly. “I really thought it was a nice gesture.”
“…So, she’s not giving you the necklace?” Stiles brings up awkwardly.
“She’s not giving me the necklace,” Scott answers quickly and irritably, angry that’s the only part Stiles seems to care about.
“Did you find anything else out?” Stiles asks, taking a decent bite out of his cheeseburger.
Scott looks to the roof frustratedly, “Just that I know nothing about girls, and that they’re totally psychotic.”
Fallon takes a bite of her peanut butter and jelly with a sarcastic nod, “Right, we’re psychotic when you're the one who thought it would be a great idea to send romantic photos to your ex-girlfriend to get her necklace. When instead you could’ve just said ‘hey, I don’t mean to be weird, I know we’re broken up, but I just wanted to say that’s a really cool pendant.’ But y’know, why would you want to do that? That would just be too easy.”
Stiles nods along with her words, Scott glaring at him slightly. “Okay, I came up with a Plan B just in case something like this happened,” he reveals.
“What’s Plan B?”
“Just steal the stupid thing!” He says bluntly, moving to open his drink.
“Why wasn’t that Plan A?” Fallon furrows her eyebrows. “I could’ve done that, easy.” It’s true. She and Allison have gym together, so when they were changing she could’ve easily gotten it off of her. Not that she likes to make a habit out of stealing people’s things, but this is for the greater good of Scott’s life.
“Do we really think that’s the best way?” Scott asks unsurely. “Couldn’t we at least try getting to Harris?”
Stiles shakes his head, “My dad put him under a twenty-four hour protective detail, okay? The necklace is all we got. Steal it,” he commands. “Thank you. Better it be you than Fallon who’s apparently itching to steal something,” he sends her a weird look.
“Okay, I’m not itching,” she defends herself. “I just like to steal sometimes. It makes my heart go fast.”
“I don’t know if I want to call you adorable or scary,” Stiles stares at her.
The three of them continue eating their lunch. Fallon steals one of Stiles’ fries while he takes one of her cookies. The two of them don’t notice Scott’s uncomfortability until he shifts in his seat to look at them, “Guys, he’s watching us.” He nods his head towards a table in the distance.
Fallon and Stiles look up, noticing Jackson staring at them with a smug smirk. It sends chills down her skin the way his predatory gaze is stuck on them. Ever since Scott’s made it onto Coach’s radar, Jackson has been absolutely insufferable. He really wasn’t that bad before, but now she questions why she even became friends with him in the first place.
“I wanna punch him,” she mumbles. “… again. But this time harder. Like I want to break his nose.” She glares at Jackson, but the blonde isn’t focused enough on her to see her anger.
“Okay…” Stiles places a hesitant hand on her back, rubbing it up and down. “Easy there killer.”
The two of them notice Scott zoning out and going slightly pale. Stiles leans forward, “What’s wrong?”
“Jackson's talking to me,” Scott tells them worriedly. He scoots forward in his seat, panicking as he tries to get closer to his best friends. “He knows I can hear him. Look at me. Just talk to me. Act normal. Pretend that nothing's happening.”
“Just let me go over there and punch him,” Fallon begs. “Seriously, I’ll get him to stop talking. Maybe I can take Stiles with me and he can kill him with his sarcasm and supernatural ability to annoy people.”
“Hey!” The boy smacks her, offended.
“Would one of you guys just say something!” Scott whispers. “Just talk to me!”
“I can’t think of anything– my mind’s completely blank,” Stiles sets his water bottle down.
Scott looks at him baffled, “Your mind is blank? You can’t think of something to say?”
Stiles defends himself, “Not under this kind of pressure.”
“Technically we are talking to you,” Fallon says pointedly. “Your stiff posture is what’s giving it away.” She glances back up and furrows her brows, “And he’s not even sitting there anymore.”
Scott spins around quickly, noting the blonde’s absence. His concern grows, “Where the hell is he?”
“Looking for me, McCall? I'm right here. So, what else can you do? Huh? Can you see better? Are you stronger, more powerful? No, I knew there was no way you suddenly got that good at lacrosse... Which means you're actually a cheater, aren't you? I mean, can you even play lacrosse?”
“Yes,” Scott mutters defensively out of nowhere. He squeezes the water bottle in his hand so tightly that his whole arm begins to shake.
Fallon reaches forward, encasing her hands around his, “Scott…” she warns. “Don’t feed into it. Ignore him.”
“I'll bet my new co-captain's gonna score a bunch of shots tonight, aren't you? And while you're pretending you're not a lying cheat, I'm gonna ruin your life if you don't give me what I want. And you know what I'm gonna start with? Her.”
Scott’s entire body goes rigid. Fallon wishes she could hear what antagonizing words Jackson’s saying to him. “Scott, what’s going on?” Stiles asks, concerned. “What’s happening?”
“Talk to us,” Fallon begs, trying to pull him out of whatever angry trance he’s in. “What is he saying to you?”
He stays completely silent, only listening to Jackson’s mumbling. Stiles snaps his fingers in front of Scott’s face, but it doesn’t even earn a blink from the zoned out boy. The two friends try to search the lunch room, but Jackson is nowhere to be found.
“I'm gonna destroy any chance you'll ever have with her. And, when I'm done with that, I'm gonna get her all alone, and I'm gonna get my hands all over that tight little body.”
Scott’s hand quakes violently as he brings his water bottle up to his mouth, taking a sip to try and calm himself down. Fallon’s leg bounces up and down as she watches Scott with troubled eyes. Is he going to turn in the middle of the lunch room? Or just go and murder Jackson?
Stiles leans closer to his best friend, “Scott, come on, you can’t let him do this. You can’t let him have this kind of power over you, okay?”
“I'm gonna do everything you never got the chance to do, and Scott? She's gonna beg for more.”
Scott is now gripping his plastic tray with a deadly amount of force. His face is starting to flush red with anger as the plastic in his hands begins to crack under the pressure.
“I bet she likes to get loud. Maybe she's even a screamer. How are you gonna feel, Scott... When she's screaming my name?”
Fallon and Stiles grip onto each other as the tray finally snaps in half, causing his plate to fall with a loud crash onto the table. Pretty much every head in the lunch room turned to look at them. Fallon’s lips form in a tight line as she raises her hand to dismiss their new audience.
“Proceed with your business,” she says. “We’re fine… everything is just fine,” she mumbles the last part quietly, but Stiles and Scott know that they are so far from fine.
· · ────── ·𖥸· ────── · ·
“I don’t understand why my presence is required for you to look up what Allison’s pendant means,” Fallon tells Stiles as she enters his room behind him, flopping down on his bed like she usually does.
“Because you’re better at taking notes than I am,” he shrugs as if it’s obvious. “And I didn’t wanna do it by myself… so there’s that.” He waves his hand in the air, “And I’m feeding your sorry ass, so don’t act like it’s that big of a burden.”
“True,” Fallon sighs contently. “I suppose I can’t complain.”
“Exactly,” Stiles nods. “Y’know what’s really funny? Normally dogs are either food or toy motivated, but it seems I’ve found a human that’s also motivated by food.”
“Are you calling me a dog?” She sits up, glaring daggers at him.
“No,” he shakes his head. “I’m just saying you have dog-like tendencies.”
“You may be right,” she admits gruffly. “I’m starting to get the urge to attack.” The two of them make prolonged eye contact before she surges forward making the boy flinch with a small yelp. She throws her head back, cackling loudly at his fear of her.
She’s still laughing when Noah calls out for his son, “Hey, Stiles!”
Fallon sits up from her spot, but her eyes turn as wide as saucers when she sees Derek Hale staring directly at her, “Holy shi–” she tries to scream.
She’s swiftly cut off by Derek picking her up from the bed and pulling her out of sight behind the slightly ajar door. He slaps a hand over her mouth, pushing her body into the wall. He cages her in, one arm on the side of her head while his one hand remains on her mouth. She squirms under his hold making him tighten his grip.
“Relax,” he whispers through clenched teeth. “Don't say a word.”
Stiles barely turns, not even hearing the sudden commotion behind him. “Yo, D–” He jumps slightly when he sees his best friend pinned to the door, “Derek?”
The brooding man moves his free hand in front of his lips, using his finger to signal Stiles to shut up. He could have easily done that to Fallon, but apparently that would’ve been too easy. He uses the same finger to point to the halfway open door as the sheriff comes up to talk to his son.
Stiles sends Fallon a panicked look before stumbling over to the door, shutting it a bit more behind him so his father can’t see the poor girl being shoved against his bedroom wall. The door rattles on its hinges making Derek roll his eyes.
“What’d you say?” They hear the sheriff say.
Stiles tries to play it cool, “What? I said, ‘Yo, D–Dad,” he scoffs out a laugh as if it was obvious.
“Is Fallon here?” He wonders. “I thought I heard the two of you come in together.”
“Uh. Y-Yeah, she’s here. In my room…” Stiles stutters awkwardly. “Just studying and stuff. Y’know, ‘cause she’s smart.”
Fallon cringes at his rambling. Sheriff Stilinski sends his son a small grin, “You ever gonna tell that poor girl how you feel about her?”
Fallon and Stiles’ eyes shoot wide open at the sentence. Stiles splutters profusely while Fallon simply glares at Derek who has an amused eyebrow raised. Still not a hint of a smile though.
“I’m sorry, what?!” His son shakes his head. “No. No, no, no, no. Fallon and me– just friends. No feelings. In fact, I don’t even think she’s a girl. She doesn’t count.”
“Yeah,” Noah nods skeptically. “That's what they all say.“ He shakes off the playfully tone before sighing, “Anyway, listen, I’ve got something that I’ve got to take care of, but I’m gonna be there tonight,” he promises. “I mean, your first game!”
Fallon huffs under Derek’s hand which still hasn’t moved. It’s Stiles’ first game, and the semifinal, and he ends up getting stuck trying to figure out all this werewolf drama for Scott. He deserves a chance to play in the spotlight for once. Scott better get that necklace, if not for himself, then at least for Stiles’ sake. At this rate, especially with Derek here, she doesn’t even think she’ll be able to play tonight.
Stiles nods his head up and down, “My first game!” Stiles repeats with a small fist bump into the air. She couldn’t tell if that was sarcasm or actual excitement, but knowing Stiles and their current situation, it’s probably the former. “Guh– it’s great! Awesome. Uh, good!”
“I’m very happy for you,” Noah smiles genuinely. “And I’m really proud of you.”
Fallon expected Stiles to just thank his dad or say ‘I love you,’ but she should’ve known better. “Thanks… Me too. I’m happy and proud… of myself.”
“So, they’re really gonna let you play, right?” Noah asks unsurely, still having a hard time grasping the concept of his son being first line.
Stiles beams, “Yeah, Dad– I’m first line. Believe that?”
Noah nods, “I’m very proud.”
“Oh, me too,” Stiles says with a rushed smile. “Again, I’m–”
Sheriff Stilinski leans forward, pulling Stiles in for the most awkward hug Fallon has ever witnessed. They pay each other on the back, “Huggie, huggie…” Stiles mutters weirdly. “Huggie.”
“Idiot,” Fallon says, still muffled by Derek’s hand.
Noah looks at his son oddly but nonetheless nods, “See you there,” he waves at his son before taking off down the stairs. Fallon lets out a breath of relief as Derek lets her go. She lightly pushes him out of her way, glaring at him as she goes to move. She gasps though as Stiles closes the door, Derek taking the opportunity to then pin him to it.
She gapes at him, “What is with you and pinning people to things?”
Derek ignores her, snarling at Stiles as he goes to open his mouth. “If you say one word–”
“Oh, what? You mean like, ‘Hey dad, Derek Hale’s in my room. Bring your gun?!’” Stiles cuts him off sassily. Derek falters for a moment, realizing that Stiles does technically have the power in this situation. They told him to hide, but he chose to come to the Sheriff’s house. The only thing protecting him right now is Stiles’ silence. “Yeah, that’s right. If I’m harboring your fugitive ass, it’s my house,” he slaps Derek’s chest cockily making Fallon smirk, “my rules, buddy.”
Derek clenches his jaw. He remains silent, but eventually he slowly nods, releasing his tight grip on Stiles. He pulls down the boy's jacket to rearrange it from where he pulled it out of proportion during his attempt at threatening him. Stiles huffs out a laugh, and being his usual self, does the same for Derek's leather jacket
That earns a menacing jerk of the head from Derek causing Stiles to flinch similarly to when Fallon pretended to surge at him earlier. “Oh my God!” He says fearfully before returning to his desk.
Fallon stays on Stiles’ bed, glancing at Derek every few seconds to make sure he doesn’t try to pin her to the wall again. Her mind is still a little fuzzy from the first time. Whether it be from the lack of oxygen or because she secretly enjoyed it, they’ll never know.
“Scott didn’t get the necklace?” Derek asks, following Stiles over to his laptop.
“No. He's still working on it. But, there's something else we can try.” He spins in his chair to face Derek. “The night we were trapped at the school, Scott sent a text to Allison asking her to meet him there.”
“So? Derek shrugs, not seeing how that pertains to their current issue.
“So…” Fallon leans forward in a patronizing tone, almost as if she were explaining it to a child, “It wasn’t Scott.”
Derek glances at her like he wants to throw her through a wall rather than pin her to it. “Well, can you guys find out who sent it?” He questions aggressively.
“No,” Stiles shakes his head. “At least not one of us,” he points between himself and Fallon. “But I think I know someone who can…”
Stiles pulls out his phone and as soon as she sees the smirk on Stiles’ face and the words “lab work” come out of his mouth, she already knew who he was calling.
Danny.
He probably has no clue that Stiles knows about his previous run-ins with the law. The only reason Fallon knows is because he and her are really close. She’s pretty sure the only people he’s told are her and Jackson. She groans, “Stiles, you can’t just ambush him like this.”
“Do you have a better idea?” He scoffs.
“Uh, yeah,” she nods. “Just tell him you need a favor and that you’ll owe him one. He’s a pretty easy going guy if you haven’t noticed.”
“This is more fun,” Stiles shrugs. His phone pings with a message from Danny, “I’ll be right back. He’s here.” Stiles runs out of the room, leaving Derek and Fallon alone until he returns.
She gazes at the man, “So… that was a pretty aggressive greeting,” she says sarcastically, recalling the way he didn’t even say hello to her when he came in.
Derek’s eyes flicked to her, his expression as unreadable as ever. For a moment, he didn’t say anything, just stared at her with that intense gaze that always seemed to see right through her. Fallon forces herself not to look away, refusing to be intimidated by his silence.
“I heard your heartbeat rising,” Derek finally said, his voice low, almost a growl. “Don’t act like you didn’t like it.”
Fallon feels her cheeks flush slightly at his words, and she quickly covers it with a scoff. “Oh, please. You had me pinned against a wall with your hand over my mouth. My heart was racing because I thought you were going to suffocate me, not because I enjoyed it.”
Derek’s lips twitch, just barely, but it’s enough for Fallon to notice. “Sure,” he said, clearly not buying her excuse. He pushes off the wall and took a step closer to her, his presence once again filling the small space between them. “You’re not as good at hiding things as you think, Fallon.”
Her eyes narrow at his words, her stubbornness flaring up. “And you’re not as unreadable as you think, Derek.”
This time, it was Derek’s turn to scoff, though it was a much quieter sound. He takes another step closer, and Fallon finds herself involuntarily pressing herself further into the bed. “If that were true,” he says, his voice barely above a whisper, “you wouldn’t have reacted the way you did when I grabbed you.”
Fallon swallows hard, her heart beating a little faster as he looms over her. The girl knows he’s only saying that to get under her skin, to rattle her so she stops talking. She wasn’t going to let him win though. Fallon’s never been one to step down from a challenge. “You’re assuming I was flustered because of you,” she counters, trying to keep her voice steady. “Maybe I just don’t like being manhandled.”
Derek’s eyes flicker down for the briefest of moments before meeting her gaze again. “Keep telling yourself that,” he murmurs.
Fallon’s breath hitches slightly at the intensity in his voice, but she quickly masks it with a smirk. “I will.”
Before Derek could respond, the sound of footsteps on the stairs broke the tension between them. He quickly steps away, putting some distance between them as Stiles returns with Danny in tow.
“Fallon?” Danny tilts his head. “What are you doing here?”
“Um,” she purses her lips, “nothing worth noting. Just kind of here… taking up space.”
“Are you gonna help us with lab work?” He asks curiously as Stiles plops back down in his chair.
“Actually,” Stiles gets his attention with a shake of his head. “We’re not doing lab work. I need you to do something else for us.”
“What?” Danny furrows his eyebrows. “What do you mean we’re not doing lab work?” He scoffs. “That's why you invited me here.”
“That was a lie,” Siles shrugs nonchalantly. “Fallon and I need you to do something mucho importante. We need your crazy hacker skills to trace a text for us,” he blurts out, typing fervently on his computer.
“I’m sorry, you want me to do what?” Danny shakes his head in disbelief.
“Trace a text,” Stiles enunciates condescendingly, as if Danny doesn’t understand the request.
Fallon feels bad for Danny. He genuinely came here to do lab work and Stiles just exploited his crime record. In the grand scheme of things, Danny doing this is going to be a big help, but they way he was manipulated into coming here might bite them back karmic wise in the future.
The brunette girl rolls her eyes, pulling Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. She should’ve been on the sixth book by now, but with all the supernatural issues going on, it’s been hard to find downtime. Her eyes gloss over the pages, immersing herself in the fictional world. The only issue is that as she tries to delve deeper, she can feel Derek’s stare on the back of her neck. It’s almost as if he expects her to conversate with him. She thought he’d love the fact he can just stand there in his broody silence, not being bothered by anyone.
“I came here to do lab work– that’s what lab partners do,” Danny tells him, growing increasingly more annoyed.
Stiles groans, running a hand through his buzzcut. “And we will! …Once you trace the text,” he says, making an ultimatum out of it.
Danny glares at him, “And what makes you think I know how?”
Stiles turns sheepish, stuttering slightly. Fallon doesn’t bother looking up from her book, “He looked up your arrest report,” she reveals monotonously, flipping the page.”
Danny’s face falls defeatedly, “I-I was thirteen,” he says defensively. “They dropped the charges.”
Stiles puts his hands up, indicating with his gesture that he’s not accusing Danny of anything. “Whatever,” he shrugs.
Danny looks like he considers it for a moment, but ultimately huffs and determinedly sets his backpack down. He takes a seat next to Stiles, “No. We’re doing lab work,” he insists.
Fallon sighs, finally looking up from her book. “Please, Danny…?” She begs nicely. “If you do this, I’ll seriously owe you one. I’ll even do your guys’ lab work,” she proposes.
“Wait, seriously?” Stiles spins around causing Fallon to narrow her eyes at him. “Nevermind…” he mumbles.
Danny looks like he wants to say yes, but his need to be a good student seems to be winning. He shakes his head, turning his attention back to Stiles’ computer. It doesn’t last for long though as his attention is pulled over to where Derek is sitting, reading Fallon’s copy of the Prisoner of Azkaban. She lends him a copy of whatever book he is on. He’s a pretty fast reader, she's noticed. He should be further along too, but with having to pretend to be dead for a bit, he fell behind. Fallon glances in Danny’s direction, noticing him slightly ogling Derek, not that the werewolf noticed.
“Who’s he again?” She hears Danny whisper to Stiles.
Derek slipped his jacket off a few moments prior, laying it next to Fallon’s spot on the bed. He’s in a tight-fitted light gray t-shirt. His muscles bulge out of the fabric, the lightness of the color really making his eyes pop. The top of his chest peeks out due to the buttons being undone, but no one in the room seems to mind.
Stiles tries to find a believable answer. He glances back at Derek before slowly turning back to Danny, “Um, my cousin…” he pauses, “Miguel.”
Fallon snorts rather loudly at the lie. She covers it up with a cough as all three boys turn to look at her. Derek’s glare stays on her the longest, not appreciating how humorous she’s finding the situation.
“Is that blood on his shirt?”
Fallon’s eyes widen. Sure enough, as she looks over at Derek, there’s a nice and noticeable blood stain right on his t-shirt. She shoots him a pointed look, “Where did that come from?” She seethes through clenched teeth. “What have you even been doing?”
Danny and Stiles can’t hear her though. “Yeah. Yes, well, he gets these horrible nosebleeds,” Stiles effortlessly excuses. He glances back at Derek with false politeness, “Hey, Miguel… I thought I told you you could borrow one of my shirts?”
Derek closes the book in one swift motion, never taking his glare off Stiles. With an unnecessary amount of aggression, he tosses it onto the bed as he stands up jerkily and walks over to the dresser. Fallon watches as he pulls his shirt over his head angrily, tossing it onto the ground.
The girl bites her lip as she watches him rummage through Stiles’ drawers. His back muscles flex with every moment, showing off the large tattoo that takes up most of his back. She tries to keep her focus on the book, but she’d have to be a nun to ignore the attractive man in front of her. If her father saw the way she was looking at Derek right now, he’d probably be sent into an early grave. Or go after him with a shotgun. No previous hunter training required.
“So, anyway, I mean, we both know you have the skills to trace that text, so we should probably–”
“Uh, Stiles,” Derek interrupts the boy who is still trying to convince Danny to contribute to their cause.
“Yes?” Stiles bats his eyelashes innocently.
He holds up a tiny black and white striped t-shirt. He pulls it in two different directions with his hands to emphasize his point, “This… no fit,” he says irritably.
Stiles rolls his eyes, “Then try something else on.”
Fallon looks up at Derek, “Sorry,” she mouths at him. If she could help, she would. But there’s no way with Derek’s physique that he's going to find something that fits him in Stiles’ room.
She looks back down at her book, managing to finish the page she was on before Stiles’ voice pulls her back into the conversation. “Hey, that one looks pretty good, huh? What do you think, Danny?” He says nudging him to look at Derek.
Fallon’s jaw drops when she sees the bright orange and blue shirt covering Derek’s body. While the fit of it does bring out his… well, everything. It doesn't look very comfortable, nor is it his style. Derek clearly hates it as well as his usual scowl deepens. If Lydia were to see this monstrosity, she would throw Stiles in jail for even possessing a shirt that looks like that. She’s pretty sure Stiles has never even worn that in his life.
“Huh?” Danny shifts uncomfortably.
“The shirt?” Stiles continues to push on his opinion.
Danny looks at Derek, either finding him extremely attractive or extremely scary, Fallon couldn’t tell which. “It’s… It’s not really his color,” he says, swallowing thickly.
Danny’s gaze lingers for a moment as Derek takes off yet another shirt. Stiles leans over to the goalie with a smug smile, “You swing for a different team, but you still play ball, don’t you Danny boy?” He whispers menacingly, calling his lab partner out.
“You’re a horrible person.”
Stiles looks up at his curling as if actually pondering his terrible behavior, “I know. It keeps me awake at night.” He sleeps like a baby pretty much every night. It takes Fallon, Scott, and the aroma of chocolate chip pancakes to get him to wake up at sleepovers. “Anyway, about that text…”
“Stiles!” Derek shouts, his temper now officially snapped. He holds another shirt in his hands, but it’s obvious that one won’t work for him either. “None of these fit!”
Danny immediately turns back to the computer, not able to look at Derek change anymore. He begins typing, “I’ll need the ISP, the phone number, and the exact time of text.”
Fallon and Stiles make eye contact, quietly celebrating their little victory. Fallon jumps up, hugging Danny from behind, “You’re the best. Seriously, I meant what I said. I definitely owe you.”
“Yeah, yeah,” the boy waves off. “Just lend me copy off your history notes and we’re even.”
“Done,” she nods happily.
They allow Danny to work for about thirty minutes in complete silence, which has to be a new record for Fallon and Stiles. The two of them collectively struggle to stay quiet for more than ten. But it was already enough of a struggle to convince Danny, they didn’t need to piss him off anymore than he already was. She watches impressed as information flies across the screen, all by Danny’s doing. Suddenly, he stops.
“There,” he points to the screen, causing Derek to walk closer so he can get a better look. He stands directly behind Fallon, his breath faintly hitting her neck causing chills to run down her spine. She shuffles over a bit to have more room, earning a curious look from Derek himself. “The text was sent from a computer.” He points towards the name, “This one.”
Fallon, Stiles, and Derek stare at the screen in shock and confusion. How could this be the computer the text was sent from?
“Registered to that account name?” Derek asks skeptically.
“No,” Fallon shakes her head. “No, that doesn’t make any sense.”
“That can’t be right,” Stiles breathes out.
On the bright screen in front of them reads the words Account registered to: Beacon Hills Hospital– Melissa McCall.

Fallon sits in the backseat of Stiles’ jeep, Derek taking up the passenger seat. She knew better than to argue with him, either way she would’ve ended up in the same spot. Just one scenario he’s mad at her, and the other he’s not. Hence why she chose the latter. Her leg bounces up and down nervously as she checks the time on her phone. The game starts in less than thirty minutes. She has never missed a game out of her own free will, and Coach is gonna kill her when he realizes she’s not there already.
“Did you get the picture?” Scott asks Stiles through the phone. Fallon can hear the faint cheering from the crowd through the speaker and a pout crosses over her face. She should’ve gone with Scott to steal the necklace.
On the bright side, at least he found the pendant. He sent the group of three a picture of it, the real thing matching up with the sketch Derek showed them pretty well. All the important details seemed to be there. She might’ve made it a little neater if she drew it, but that’s just her inner artist's need for perfection.
The unlikely trio sits in the parking lot of the Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital Long Term Care facility. Derek forced Stiles to drive them there, but didn’t explain why. Said he would tell them when they got there.
“Yeah, I did, and it looks just like the drawing,” Stiles answers.
Derek grabs Stiles’ wrist with no remorse, pulling it at an awkward angle so he can talk into the phone. “Hey, is there something on the back of it? There's gotta be something-- an inscription, an opening, something…”
“No, no, the thing's flat,” Scott says, much to Derek’s disappointment. “And, no, it doesn't open. There's nothing in it, on it, around it, nothing. And where are you guys? You're supposed to be here. Coach is gonna go ballistic when he realizes neither of you are ready.”
“Where the hell is Bilinski?!” The hear Coach shout through the phone. Suddenly his voice becomes impossibly louder, “McCall! Where’s Donovan?” He asks, his tone of voice angry, and from what she can tell, a bit nervous. “Why isn’t she out here running drills? Is that her on the phone right now?” They hear a small scuffle go on, “Donovan! You better get your ass out on this field toot sweet or you’ll be running sucides until you actually commit suicide, do you understand me?!”
Fallon’s eyes shoot open. That definitely was not a bluff. The rest of her lacrosse career is going to be a living nightmare. Scott sighs, finally getting his phone back. “Stiles, you’re not gonna play if you’re not here to start,” he says sadly. “And Fallon, Coach might actually combust if you don’t show up.”
The girl groans, putting her head in her hands. “I know,” she mumbles.
Stiles feels an immense amount of frustration, throwing his hand up. “We know,” he sighs, realizing that they're sacrificing what could lead them to the semi-finals. “Look, if you see my dad, can you tell him… tell him I’ll be there. We’ll just be a little bit late, okay? All right, thanks.” He pulls the phone away from his ear and hands it to Fallon. “He said he needs to tell you something.”
She furrows her eyebrows but takes the phone anyway, “Hey Scotty, what’s up?” She greets, placing the phone next to her ear.
“Fall, I’m really sorry, but I may or may not have made a huge mistake,” he starts off, immediately making her nervous.
“What kind of mistake?” She asks, sending a worried look to Stiles.
“Chris caught me sneaking out of his house this afternoon when I went to steal the necklace. He started asking me questions about Derek and why I talk to him, and I may have mentioned that the two of you tend to talk a lot too. I promise I didn’t mean to. But you need to be careful, he–”
“Scott, why the hell would you tell him that I talk to Derek?” Fallon asks angrily. “I was the only one out of the three of us who had a decent relationship with that family!”
“I was under a lot of pressure, okay?” Scott tries to defend himself. “He just kept pushing for information and I just accidentally let it slip. I’m sorry…”
The girl groans loudly once more, a migraine slowly seeping its way into her head. “Okay, whatever. I-It’s fine. It’s fine. I’ll figure it out if he asks. Just try to keep Coach from losing his mind. We’ll be there soon. Okay, bye.”
Fallon didn’t have time to think about the future lecture from Chris Argent. He’s a really nice guy, despite the fact he’s been hunting one of her best friends since third grade and her other friend who happens to like taking her books. He’ll no doubt tell Michael about her secret relationship with Derek which means her father will actually send her to Azkaban. And by that she means, lock her in her room with cameras, only allowing her out for school with the occasional visit from Scott and Stiles. She’ll also probably lose her motorcycle privileges.
“You guys aren’t gonna make it,” Derek says bluntly.
Stiles nods with a sigh, “Yeah, we know.” Both of them were more than bummed, but Fallon felt worse for Stiles than she did herself. She’s gotten to play first line since she was a freshman. Scott also got a free ticket to first line due to the bite, but Stiles had to work his butt off to get to this point. She might love to read him for his lack of hand-eye coordination, but Stiles practiced pretty much every day up until all of this werewolf business started happening. It's sad watching him give up so much.
“And neither of you told him about his mom either.”
“And we’re not going to,” Fallon shakes her head. “Not until we find out the truth. Because I know Melissa would never do that. She couldn’t have. She’s not in the know about any of this. Hell, for a while, she didn’t even know about Allison, let alone her phone number.”
“Plus, last week, I saw her struggle to change the channel on the TV in the living room. Which she’s had for almost three years. Not exactly tech savvy enough to send a message from Scott’s phone through a computer,” Stiles adds.
Derek nods his head along with their words. “By the way, one more thing…” Stiles turns to look at the man but immediately regrets it as Derek takes the back of his head, harshly slamming his face into the steering wheel.
Fallon jumps as Stiles groans in pain, clutching his face. “Derek!” The girl screams, reaching up to slap his shoulder. “What is wrong with you?!”
“Oh God!” Stiles rubs his forehead which is now throbbing. “What the hell was–”
Derek cuts him off with a stiff point from his finger, “You know what that was for! Now go!” He gestures towards the doors of the care facility. “Both of you.”
Fallon rolls her eyes at his bossiness, pulling out her ”volunteer” ID. She’s starting to feel like maybe this was the only reason she was needed for Derek’s plan. Easy access into the hospital.
· · ────── ·𖥸· ────── · ·
Stiles stays closely behind Fallon who leads them through the hallways of the hospital. The brunette girl has her phone pressed to her ear, talking to Derek who is telling them what to do as they go. Her confusion is growing more and more as she notices the odd abandonment of this branch. There should be more nurses walking around. She’s been in this unit before, even helped some paralyzed patients with physical therapy. Despite their terrible circumstances, the patients here are usually pretty Iively. This is one of her favorite parts of the hospital to do rounds in, so it’s concerning to see it so empty.
“Derek there’s no one here,” Fallon tells him. “We can’t find one nurse, let alone whoever you’re talking about.”
“Look, just ask for Jennifer,” Derek instructs strictly. “She’s been looking after my uncle.”
“Who even is your uncle?” Fallon questions. “Maybe I’ve checked in on him at some point.”
“No,” Derek denies. “They’ve only ever allowed Jennifer to work with him. That’s why you need to find her.”
Fallon trudges exasperatedly over to the room number Derek tells her. Stiles tries to listen in on the conversation so she decides to put the call on speaker. Once they arrive at the room they’re met with nothing. His bed is empty and freshly made, no one is occupying the wheelchair, nothing. It’s almost as if he disappeared into thin air, which isn’t exactly common for a comatose burn victim.
“Derek, he’s not here,” Fallon voices. “Like nowhere to be found. This room looks like it’s prepped to bring in a new patient, not like it’s been lived in.”
“What?” Derek asks, completely befuddled.
“He’s not here,” she enunciates. “It doesn’t look like he ever was. There’s no trace of anyone.”
There was a moment of silence, making both Stoles and Fallon grow increasingly more anxious. The tension becomes almost too much to handle until Derek bursts out into a yell, “Fallon, get out of there right now!” He screams. “It’s him! He’s the Alpha! You both need to get out!”
Fallon’s blood runs cold. She stumbles backwards, trying to push her and Stiles out of the abandoned room. The exit. That’s all that runs through her mind. Stiles catches her before she trips over her own feet. They both breath heavily as she grabs his hand, getting ready to bolt for the doors. But before they could even make a full turn, they are met with a looming figure. Derek’s uncle, Peter. The Alpha. He stands tall above them, a long trench coat covering his form. She wants to run away, scream even, the same feeling from the video store coming back. Especially when that smirk comes across his face. The same one she saw when he touched her with his claws. Her heart stops.
She’s absolutely terrified. This man could kill her without even thinking twice about it. But she knows she would throw herself into a pit of fire if it meant protecting Stiles. She takes a small step forward, pushing the boy behind her protectively. Peter looks almost amused by her action.
He smiles sinisterly, “You must be Fallon and Stiles.” The brunette girl couldn’t help but sympathize at the burns on the side of his face. They’re red, swollen, and discolored. No doubt one of the most painful injuries anyone could receive. She knows it’s wrong to feel even slightly and for the man as he’s killed so many people as well as having turned Scott, but after being wronged this way. Perhaps it’s not completely unjustified.
Fallon grips Stiles’ hand tighter. She tries to even her breathing as she spins them around to run in the other direction, but they are met with the angry scowl of who they could only assume was Peter’s nurse, Jennifer. Of course, now they find her.
“What are you doing here?” She interrogates aggressively. “Visiting hours are over.”
Fallon drops her phone to the ground, not even cringing when the screen falls face down. She clenches her fists tightly, getting ready to beat the living daylights out of the woman in front of them. Until Stiles decides that now is the perfect time to have an existential crisis. Or epiphany, whichever one he’d like to classify it as.
He points to Jennifer with a slack jaw, “You…” He gasps loudly before looking back at Peter. “And him… You're-you're the one who-- Oh, my-- and he's-- Oh, my God, we’re gonna die.” He looks like he’s going to cry, just without the tears. “We’re gonna die,” he mumbles again.
Fallon feels a sudden surge of bravery. She turns her head towards Peter, nose flaring with anger. He has been non stop terrorizing her. Her thoughts plagued with the memory of him invading her space the way that he did. “That night at the video store… you sniffed me. You touched me. Why? Why didn’t you just kill me when you had the chance?”
Peter’s smirk deepened as he looked at Fallon. "There’s something different about you... something worth keeping around.” A dark gleam appears in his eyes, “Why waste such potential, such… power, when it’s staring me right in the face?” Her confusion and fear makes him glow, “You’ll understand soon enough.”
Fallon felt as if every part of her had been violated simply by his words. He thinks she has potential. Why would he want to keep her around? He does have a plan for her, something she doesn’t and would never want to be a part of. Before she could say or process anything else, a loud crack is heard as Derek smoothly slides into the hallway. He elbows Jennifer in the face, causing the red head to fall to the linoleum floor, hitting her head and knocking her out cold.
Peter cocks his head to the side with a faux frown, “That’s not nice,” he feigns offense. “She’s my nurse.”
“She’s a psychotic bitch helping you kill people,” Derek corrects, getting ready for a fight. “Get out of the way,” he orders the two teens.
Stiles looks like he’s about to pass out as he glances between the two werewolves. Fallon’s eyes meet Derek’s and she feels the urge to fight with him, to tell him that they can help, but the pointed look he gives her makes her surrender that foolish notion. She grabs Stiles’ arm and pulls them down to the floor, crawling out of the way of the upcoming brawl.
“You think I killed Laura on purpose?” Peter stalks closer to Derek, ignoring the teens who are pushing themselves against the wall below. “One of my own family?”
Derek roars loudly, his eyes shifting to their bright shade of blue. This probably isn’t the family reunion either of them were expecting. The brunette pushes Stiles further down the hall as she watches Derek bounce off the wall to tackle Peter. The Alpha grabs his nephew by the collar of his jacket, throwing him directly into the wall next to Stiles and Fallon.
“Shit!” The girl screams, rolling over in the other direction.
Paint and drywall crumble off the spot of impact. She and Stiles run the other way, trying not to get caught in the crossfire. Fallon watches Derek with worried eyes, but he doesn’t falter in the slightest from the rough impact. Despite the wall now having a Derek sized dent in it, the man himself appears fine.
Fallon flinches as Stiles yanks her away from the unconscious nurse. Peter reaches down, grabbing Derek by the neck as he drags him down the hallway. She wants to help in some way, but Derek specifically told them to get out of the way.
“My mind, my personality, we’re literally burned out of me,” Peter monologues dramatically. “I was being driven by pure instinct.” He drops Derek’s body on the floor with a loud thud before reaching over to his nurse and taking her keys.
Derek grunts, forcing himself to stand after being manhandled. “You want forgiveness?” He asks breathily before cocking his fist back and slamming it into Peter’s jaw. Fallon flinches from the contact, Peter’s head jerking in the other direction.
Peter takes the opportunity to grab Derek by the collar again, head butting him with an excessive amount of force. “I want understanding,” he answers.
He lifts his leg up, connecting it with Derek’s chest as he sends the man flying across the hallway. Fallon jumps out of the way, pulling Stiles behind her. “We need to get out of here,” she whispers urgently. Stiles nods in agreement, the two of them rounding the corner to head towards the doors. They can hear Peter in the distance.
Peter menacingly tilts his head towards his nephew, “Do you have any idea what it was like for me during those years?” Derek spits out blood onto the floor, using his arms to push himself off of the floor. “Slowly healing, cell by cell. Even more slowly coming back to consciousness.”
Fallon bites the inside of her cheek, trying not to imagine how hurt Derek is. Flashes of his brutally beat up body from the night at the school enter her mind, but Stiles manages to keep her grounded as they try to find the best escape route.
“Yes, becoming an Alpha, taking that from Laura pushed me over a plateau in the healing process. I can't help that.” Derek stands up, swinging at Peter who dodges his punches with scary precision. “I tried to tell you what was happening. I tried to warn you.”
The moment Stiles and Fallon rush out of the exit door, they hear the loud sound of glass shattering. The brunette hesitates, but is pulled forward by Stiles. She looks back with only enough time to see Derek crawling away from Peter, the older man getting ready to abuse his nephew’s body again. She ignores the grunts and sounds of colliding fists, not knowing who is winning at this point.
And truthfully, she doesn’t want to know.

She will face the adventure of being associated with the Derek and McCall pack, as well as being faced with the discovery of certain aspects of her life she never imagined.
A/N: so, I was planning on updating three stories this week but my body decide otherwise and put me out of commission for the past three days. I had a fever of 102.4 that lasted all of tuesday, accompanied with a wide array of other symptoms. Then wednesday and today, I had a mind breaking migraine. I was able to finish this chapter and I hope I can finish the others too 🤍
<- Previous | Next ->
They were late.
No. They were later than late.
By the time Isaac and (Y/N) rolled up to the school, the game had already started and was going in full swing. Cheers and screams were heard from the parking lot, and they hoped nothing had gone down just yet.
“Get to the locker room and get the rest of your stuff,” (Y/N) said as they hopped off her motorcycle. “I’ll go down to the field and see what’s going on.”
“Be careful, (Y/N),” Isaac worried. “We don’t know what we’re facing yet.”
“I’ll be fine. Just go,” she affirmed. “I’ll see you out there.”
She waited until he had disappeared into the school before tucking a gun in the back of her waistband and her knives inside the holsters on her ankles. One thing was certain: if anyone, whether it be the Kanima or her family, tried something that night, she was going to fight back and defend the people she cared about.
In the field, there was a shared nervousness between all those who knew the truth of the world that was hidden in plain sight. But no one felt the pressure more than Scott. Not only was he forced to sit out of the game, putting everyone on the field in danger, but he also had to protect his mother and his friends from Gerard and Jackson.
“Let’s put a real clock on this game, Scott,” the boy’s ears twitched towards the man’s voice. “I’ll give you until the last thirty seconds. When the scoreboard clock begins counting down from 30, if you haven’t given me Derek, then Jackson is gonna kill someone.”
Dread settled in the pit of the boy’s stomach. The man listed off potential victims, putting in the pool his mother and Stiles’ father. Even Lydia’s and the coach’s names were mentioned. What he had not expected was the last person he said. He knew the man was cruel, but he never thought Gerard would stoop so low. “Or maybe I’ll send him off on (Y/N),” he said. “Maybe Derek will hand himself over if I do that. You know how much he likes the Argent girls.”
Scott’s head snapped behind him, his gaze colliding with a frantic (Y/N). She was speaking into her phone, at a tone so low even he couldn’t hear, but he could tell she was worried. He just hoped it had nothing to do with what was going to go down that night.
“It’s up to you, Scott,” the man instructed. “But you are going to help me take Derek down. Because if you don’t… I’ll have Jackson rip someone’s head off right in the middle of the field and drench everyone you love and care about in blood. And I’d really hate for that person to be my own granddaughter.”
Even without the Kanima, there was a slaughter on the field. With Stiles' little to no experience actually playing the game, the team had no chance of winning, much less of benching enough players to get Scott in there. It was wrong move after wrong move, and there was nothing he could do—at least, not just yet.
As the coach forced him to sit back down when he tried to join the team, he felt a presence next to him. Someone he wasn’t quite expecting.
“You came to help.”
Surprise was splattered across his face as the other boy smirked at him. “I came to win,” Isaac said before his eyes fell on Gerard’s threatening gaze. “Do you have a plan yet?”
“No,” he sighed, “right now it’s pretty much just keep Jackson from killing anyone.”
“Well, that might be easier if you’re actually in the game,” the blond stated. “We have to make it so coach had no choice but to play you.”
“How do we do that? He’s got a bench full of guys he can use before he ever puts me on the field.” All it took was one look before both boys knew what had to be done and how. “Can you do it without putting anyone in the hospital?”
Isaac took a deep breath, knowing he could not lie. He said, “I can try,” before sliding on his helmet and joining the team on the field, and setting off to work.
Whoever saw him on the field would think Isaac was playing for the opposite team. With jabs, swipes, and kicks, the boy got his teammates out one by one. He knew they’d be hurt, their bodies and their egos, but there was a greater good to be fought for. A couple of bumps and bruises would heal a lot better than a dead body.
The plan was working and working well. One by one, his teammates were driven on and off the field. It was going too perfectly. Until Jackson rammed himself into Isaac, sending him to the ground and dislocating his arm while inconspicuously nicking him with venom. Either way, Isaac was out of the game, and Scott was in. He was out his only supernatural advantage, but he would protect everyone like he had an entire army behind him.
(Y/N) couldn’t stay in her seat as she saw Isaac being taken away. She sped down the bleachers to follow the medics but stopped dead in her tracks. She wasn’t the only one that was heading back to the school. Gerard and two hunters followed the men back to the boys’ locker room, their sights set on the werewolf.
The girl knew where her grandfather’s head was at. He was going to torture information out of the boy and kill him afterward. He had no need to let Isaac live once he got what he wanted. He saw no need to let anyone live.
The medics had left Isaac by himself in the recovery room after putting his shoulder into place. But it wasn’t enough to completely trigger his healing and not fast enough for him to protect himself from three men and a sword.
“It was a good effort, Isaac,” Gerard called as he motioned to his hunter to hand him his sword. “This would be so much more poetic if it were halftime.”
Gerard and the hunters made their way toward Isaac, the older man dragging the tip of the blade on the ground. It was intimidating, sure. But not when the boy knew he had backup. As the older Argent raised his weapon toward him, Isaac smirked, making him stop dead in his tracks.
In the reflection of the mirror behind the blond boy, (Y/N) stood, knife in hand and a smirk on her face. Before the younger hunters could do anything, she hit one on the back of the neck with the handle of her knife, knocking him out cold before turning to the other.
The second man put up more of a fight since he knew what was coming. He was strong and agile; she would give him that, just like she gave him the first punch he threw to her jaw. But he had no idea who he was fighting. (Y/N) had been trained her entire life for that type of situation, even if she didn’t know it.
(Y/N) went low, using his height to her advantage. She drove a punch into his abdomen, making him hunch over in pain. As he bent down, she grabbed the back of his neck before slamming her knee one time on his nose, making a bloody mess of his face, and another on his temple, right between the bridge of his nose and his eyes. The man tumbled to the ground as though he weighed nothing more than a doll, succumbing to the blow she had managed to land.
“You know this looks very predatory,” she said between pants. “Three grown men cornering a teenage boy in a dark room, not a great look. Especially the principal of the school! What will the parents say?”
“(Y/N),” Gerard announced. “Can’t say it’s a surprise to see you here. I should have known you’d betray the family. At the end of the day, you do have your father’s blood running through you.”
“But this is not about that, is it?” she questioned, slowly making her way toward him. “This is about you using innocent kids to get to Derek Hale because you can’t do it on your own.”
“None of this concerns you anymore, (Y/N),” he said. “Maybe you should take a page out of your cousin’s book and accept your fate. You’re a hunter. You always will be. These people… these things, they are not your blood. They will turn on you the second they need to protect themselves.”
“Weird,” she chuckled dryly. “The only people who have done that is my own family.”
“That’s because you have no sense of loyalty, granddaughter. But I can’t blame you. Not when your father turned out the way he did,” he sighed. “Although, he seems to have learned his place now.”
“Enough chitchat already, old man,” the girl exhaled. “Why don’t you show me a real fight? Something those two clearly didn’t have in them.”
“Come on, (Y/N). You wouldn’t hurt your dear old grandpa, now, would you?” Gerard smirked deviously. “I don’t think that’s a line even you would cross. Not when I have the information you have been dying to know.”
“What could you possibly know that I don’t already?”
“I know all about the mystery woman your parents always talk about,” he smirked. “I also know why you’ve always felt so… different. Especially this past year. Everything is just so… heightened.”
(Y/N) wanted to accept his offer. Something in her told her that his information was reliable, that he knew everything her parents were hiding and more. But as much as she wanted the truth, there were bigger things in play.
“Tell you what, I’ll give you a piece for free,” he said. “Ever wondered why you don’t look quite like us? Like your mother? Ask your father about Raina, and maybe you’ll find out. Or let me go, and I will tell you all you want to know. And something tells me you’d prefer the latter.”
“Wanna test your theory out?” she threatened as she pulled her gun from her waistband and pointed it at her grandfather. “Because you may have the years of experience, but I have my health.”
The words made the man stumble in his stance, the phrase sending shivers down his spine. There was no way she could know what he thought she was implying. Her choice of vocabulary had to come from a catalog of random remarks she could use to hurt him. Because she couldn’t know, no one could.
“I think it’s best if you just go while you still can, Gerard,” Scott called out as he came into the locker room. “I’ve seen her fight, and it’s better if you just go.”
The man didn’t think twice as he took steps back, his gaze set on his granddaughter. “This isn’t over yet,” he said. “But the game almost is.”
As Gerard ran from the locker room, (Y/N) took a stumbling Isaac into her arms. “Okay, I have to trigger your healing, okay?” she told him. “Just, please, don’t fight back.”
She sank her knife into his arm, flinching as he let out a painful scream. Blood ran down the knife and onto her hand, but she knew it was the fastest way he could recover. “Hold on for just a bit more,” she said. “Gotta make your body work hard.”
“It’s fine,” he winced. “Let’s just get this over with.”
“What did Gerard mean about the game, Scott?” (Y/N) asked as she turned her head to face the boy. “He said the game is almost over. Why?”
“Jackson’s gonna kill someone if I don’t give up Derek,” he said. “Gerard gave me until the last thirty seconds of the match.”
“Then take these two out back and get to the field,” she instructed. “I’ll clean up here, and Isaac will be with you as soon as possible.”
Scott set off quickly to work, pulling one of the men onto his shoulders while dragging the other out. But he stopped as (Y/N) called out, “Be careful, Scott. Night’s not over yet.” And he was gone.
“Alright, Isaac, I’m gonna pull this knife out now,” she said as she turned back to the blond boy. “It will sting, but it’ll hopefully be enough for your body to metabolize the rest of the venom in your body.”
Just as she had said, the girl slid the blade from her friend’s arm, holding her hand over the wound as it healed. She could feel his blood pool under her hand, warm and sticky, and all kinds of uncomfortable. His body was slowly healing, but it was still healing.
Slowly, she removed her hand from Isaac’s arm, letting out a breath of relief as the cut disappeared before her very eyes. Only then, when she was sure he was recovering, did she set off to get towels and a mop to clean off the trail of blood the hunter had left behind. It wasn’t much, but it was enough to warrant concern if anyone else saw it.
“Somehow, I keep forgetting you were raised to be a fighter,” Isaac muttered as he helped (Y/N) wipe away the last of the water on the floor. “Really saved my ass back there.”
“I told you I could protect myself,” she smirked. “Maybe now you’ll stop worrying about me.”
“I’ll always worry,” he said. “I can’t help it.”
“Well, at least you’ll know I can hold my weight in a fight,” she chuckled, bumping her shoulder against his. “I’m okay, Isaac. I’m gonna have a pretty bruise on my jaw, but nothing I can’t handle.”
Suddenly, the sound of a whistle echoed through the room, signaling the end of the game. Terror washed over the pair as screams followed soon after. Fear infiltrated the locker room, sending waves of dread through the teens. Something had happened out on the field, and Scott hadn’t been able to stop it.
“Go,” (Y/N) instructed. “I’ll finish up here.”
“What if Gerard comes back?”
“He brought a sword to a gunfight,” she smirked. “I think I know which of the two is most lethal.”
(Y/N) finished cleaning up the floor, making sure there was no evidence that a fight had ensued there. Her jaw ached and her limbs throbbed but there was an exciting rush that flowed through her. She knew she was good. She had bested her parents in sparring matches since she was only fifteen, but being able to prove herself in front of her grandfather made her feel proud of the progress she had made. She was strong, and that was something no one could take from her.
But Gerard’s words hung at the back of her mind, taunting her. Mocking her. Raina, he had said. It was a name she had never heard before, much less from her father’s mouth. But he’d known exactly what question it would answer, and what information she craved for. If it hadn’t been for the situation at hand, (Y/N) knew she would have gone as far as torturing even the smallest detail from the old man.
Still, as much as her brain yelled at her for answers, she knew she had to focus on that night. Whatever Gerard had planned would change everything between the hunters and the wolves, and they had to do everything they could to stop him.
Once she was satisfied with her work, (Y/N) ran out of the locker room and into the commotion of the lacrosse field. The lights of an ambulance van and police cars flickered in the field, painting the groups of concerned people in red and blue. She quickly spotted Isaac and Scott close to the ambulance, and she ran to them for an update on the situation.
“What do you mean Jackson’s dead?” she questioned. “And Stiles is just gone? None of this makes sense.”
“I know,” Scott sighed. “When the lights turned back on, Jackson was on the ground, and he’d stabbed himself in the stomach. My mom checked him, and he had no pulse.”
“But Gerard needs him,” she muttered. “There has to be something we’re missing here.”
“If there is,” he said, “I have no idea what it is.”
“What about Stiles?”
“He disappeared,” Isaac answered. “He won us the game and was gone by the time the lights turned on. We’re gonna look for him after we change out of our uniforms.”
“What can I do? How can I help you find him?”
“Hang around the locker rooms until everyone else is gone,” Scott said. “We’ll get his scent, and you and Isaac can look for him.”
“Sounds like a plan,” she agreed. “This is gonna be a long night, isn’t it?”
“You can bet on that.”
(Y/N) waited in the dark hall as boys left the locker room, doing her best to keep out of sights. From where she hid, she could hear the Sherrif’s heartbreaking plead to Scott and Isaac to let him know if anything came up about his son. She had not felt as useless as she did at that moment. She could fight, she could defend, but she could do nothing to find someone who had seemingly vanished.
When the man walked out of the room, she fought the urge to tell him she’d make sure his son came home. On the one hand, she didn’t have a lead on him yet. And on the other, she wasn’t even supposed to be there.
“Coast is clear, (Y/N),” Isaac called out. “Get in here.”
Inside the room, Scott and Isaac both held something of Stiles—a shoe and a shirt. “You know I could have just picked the lock,” she said as she noted the twisted locker door on the ground. “Save the school a couple of bucks.”
“I’m gonna need your resumé for future occasions,” Scott chuckled. “There are too many things you can do.”
“You have no idea,” Isaac smirked before his gaze turned back to the shoe in his hand. “But how come you get his shirt, and I get a shoe?”
Before he could answer, a sudden presence made the hairs at the back of (Y/N)’s neck stand up. And the wolves had noticed. Their attention was no longer held by the items that could help them find Stiles. Instead, their sights were set on the man standing before them. The very man who had been avoiding (Y/N) like the plague.
“Derek,” she breathed. “What are you doing here?”

─ִ━━ ꯭ ───ׂ─ִ─ ͜͡✿͜͡ ─ִ──ׂ── ꯭ ━━ִ─
Stiles eyes find your slumped figure on backseat in Jackson arms, eyes closed the car drive off to the hospital. Just as they reached the hospital stiles gets out the driver seat wrenching open the backseat door taking you off Jackson hands hastily. He heaves you in his arms screaming for help, that's how melissa finds the both of you.
Your limp unconscious body looking drained of life in the hands of equally paled stiles the sight scared melissa more than she likes to admit. She was frozen in place dropping the files the pleas for saving your life from stiles chapped lips shook her too core, the people around them were equally disturbed at the sobbing teenager that just rushed in carrying bloody girl in his arms.
The nurse and Doctors run towards them one of the pulled a stretcher along while another one was taking the girl from stiles arms, stiles unintentionally held on to your body everyone around him was saying something but the only thing he can hear is his loud breathing and heart beat and feel wetness of blood that sticking on his skin, the metallic smell invading his sense.
Stiles sits down the side of operation room with his head hanged staring down the small drop of blood his back hunched, everything around him felt surreal his hands still wet from the blood his thumb cares the necklace, one he brought when you said you give bonnie the necklace that scott give you for your peace of mind, the still hot crimson blood coat the pendent.
A tear joins the blood drop he thing he can hear the sound of tear drop falls to the ground he can hear everything, the beeping of heart monitor, the footsteps of nurses running in and out. He hears your grams and Bonnie's silent tears across from him.
He heard bonnie asking him for what happened but he doesn't able answer her questions he feels as if his body rooted to the chair, it's like he's psychically present but unable to fully there at the same time.
The doctor come out grams and bonnie stands up "How is my granddaughter doing?"
"Is she going to be okey?"
The doctor sighs "She lost quite blood; she is in hypovolemic shock. Though the blood loss didn't cause organ failure. She is still critical condition we are doing our best." The doctor sees the panicked look on their face and muffled sob coming from beside him making him glance at the teen boy sitting defeated. "But...that doesn't mean she is in danger.... she is holding up very well.
Melissa come out the room she glances at stiles with worried eye, frowning when she doesn't see scott. She moves towards Sheila and bonnie. Seeing the doctor awkwardly trying to explain your condition.
Sheila sits down melissa sitting down next her "I want the truth, tell me what's going on."
Mellissa takes her hands in her "it is a little serious, but her vitals are going steady now she just need to hold on longer, then she will be okey."
Mellissa looks at Bonnie "go home both of you, you have school don't you. she is going to be fine. I will be with her."
Before bonnie can protest her name is called, elena and Caroline along with Stefan comes.
"hey" Caroline and elena wrap bonnie in embrace. Mellissa tells them to take bonnie home they do while muttering words of comfort to her. melissa gets called she reluctantly leaves leaving Sheila and stiles alone.
"She gives me gray hair, even though its impossible for me." Sheila says though the words lack humor sighs standing up she walks towards him "Listen stiles, she's going to be fine and I don't need any doctors' words for to know."
Stiles lifts his head, his red teary eyes looking up at her "what if she doesn't" his voice chocked.
"She will." There is certainty in her voice but stiles don't seem to believe it making her look pitifully at the boy perhaps he heard the words way too may time once, that he seems to find it hard to believe her words.
She pact him on his shoulders before leaving knowing that there is nothing will bring him back to the surface from the void of despair and resentful state of mind until you tell him yourself.
Scott and Allison walks towards stiles with hesitant steps hearing Scott's voice call out his name he lifts his head, scott place his hand on stiles shoulders with an overwhelmed look on his face while Allison hand her arms crossed over self, shoulders hunched her eyes guilt stricken.
Stiles stands up point an accusing finger at her "What is she doing?" scott stands in between them his hands taking hold of stiles shoulders holding his friend back.
"Stiles it wasn't her fault, it was an accident."
Stiles scoff at him pushing his hands off him "Well look where it all ended, they don't even know if she's gonna make it." his voice raise "and it's going to your fault you should have saved her." stiles pointed at scott.
Scott looks hunted at his friend's accusation though his mind screams inside his head that it isn't his fault deep down he feels that it might his fault that someone so dear to him in harm, one of his best friends is fighting for life while other who was supposed to stand beside him blaming him.
"Stiles, it's not my fault." Scott voice wavers at the end stiles scoff at him making him frown and anger raise inside of him "It's nobody's fault, it was an accident."
Stiles walks closer to scott standing chest to chest "Well, then where were you when that happened. Oh, I know you were running after your little girlfriend ex to precise, while she was bleeding out from the wound that your girlfriend did!"
Allsion eyes tear up at stiles words scott chest starts to heave his voice rising "I didn't have a choice."
"You did have choice scott, you should have taken her to hospital but you didn't." stiles also start to screams at him.
"I tried okey, believe me I did." Scott snap back their loud voice starts to echoes around the hall making the on lookers to glance at them with curiosity "Why are you acting like she's only your friend, she's mine too. I care about her too and I'm terrified as much as you"
"Well, it doesn't feel like it." stiles muttered looking at scott with resentment making him hurt more, it was quickly replaced by anger as he garbs stiles collar shaking him.
"Stiles, you're taking it too far."
Stiles let out humorless laugh "am I, it wasn't the first time one of us was in danger because of you."
Before anyone can saying anything Noah and melissa walks towards stiles dad's demanding voice fills the hallway calling their name making them turn towards them melissa worriedly looks at the two of them at who is in each other's throat.
Stilienski walks towards stiles pulling him away as melissa does the same with scott. Noah eyes scan his son's face with concerned eyes he glances back at scott who crying as Allison and melissa tries to comfort him he shrugs them off before storming out. Looking back at his son he let out a sigh before hugging him, stile let's his father console him, he finally breaks down in his father's arms.
HALE HOUSE
Derek is quick to come out the shadow when Jackson walked into the Hale's house. A single question on his mind while Jackson wanted bite from him.
"How is she?" he asks crossing his arms his stance was rigid as if he's psychically preparing for the worst outcome.
Jackson slightly relaxed at derek less threatening demeaner "She's going to be fine..." Derek picks up the raised heartbeat narrowing his eyes at him. Jackson panics "look I don't really know okey stiles just take her off my hands before I could do it myself." Jackson exclaimed.
"Now will give the bite.?"
Derek takes a step towards him "After everything you saw, you still want the bite?"
"Of course, it's the only way I can be strong like you. And I don't wanna end like her." the next thing he realized that he shouldn't have said that because now derek claws are chocking as he gets slammed to the wall nearest to him, Derek's eyes red eyes flashing at him as he snarls at Jackson. "I didn't mean like that.... I just to be strong.... You said it yourself you can save her, if it wasn't for stiles she could been just fine." Jackson mumbled out struggling against derek. "Your bite can heal her; I can help you if you help me."
BENNET HOUSE
Sheila checks Bonnie's room frowning when she doesn't find her there, she walks towards the one place where she knows she will be. She takes a blanket with her walking out she makes her way towards the backyard; the half-moon was on its peak shining though the sky was empty of stars there is one start that shinnied brighter than any star on the usual nights. Bonnie's tired eyes strained on that one star.
"Don't you have class tomorrow? You trying to get yourself sick." Bonnie wipes her eyes as grams lay the blanket around her shoulders. She watches as her grams sits down next to her grumbling about how her how cold night it is.
"Are you not scared?" bonnie crestfallen look doesn't seem to affect her as her grams only look at her confused.
"For what?"
Bonnie gets agitated at the question finding it ridiculous "About my sister, what...if."
"She is not going die if that's what you worried about." Grams simply say looking at the star with clam look on her face.
"How can you be so sure?"
Grams takes her hand in hers squeezing her fingers warmly looking at seriously "It's not just my power knowing that she will be, but it my heart as well. She will make it."
Bonnie shakes her head at her "Grams we can't be sure about it."
"I don't think I ever told anyone about how I adopted her have I?" Grams question herself all while looking at the star.
"What does this have anything to do with that?" annoyance sweep through her words though Grams doesn't mind it as she continues all while looking at the star.
"There was Coven of witches that followed certain belief and practiced rituals that defy the rules of nature itself. They would sacrifice children that has power that they could dream of, they would drain them of their magic stealing their power lots of children died during that time people thought it was sick person's doing but it wasn't. Me along with some hunters tried to track down them it was tough as they move around often. And in the end, we did find them but we were too late when we reached the coven."
She turns to Bonnie "The witches were already killed."
Bonnie doleful look turn into confusion her prefect brow raised with a silent question Grams continue "Who did it? We don't know the answer obviously the children couldn't perform such magic that can wipe out a whole Coven. I couldn't sense such power from them but what odd was there was this little girl barely two years old among them with and she had no essence of magic in her eyes or veins but in my heart, I knew she is magical."
Bonnie whispers your name and grams nod "we returned the children to their parents but we couldn't find hers. We agreed on leaving her to a foster home but she clings on to me. It didn't feel right to leave her it was almost like she was choosing me. what I gathered from that day to now, that and now sure of is she has magic within herself that protected her and the children then and it was protecting her all along. I don't think...I know she will not die."
Bonnie nods looking at sky letting out a shaky sigh "when she comes, I'm gonna beat her ass."
Grams lets out a laugh "Give her my share too."
At Hospital
Stiles had just gone to the toilet to change his bloody clothes when he saw Melissa and some of the nurse running towards your room stiles feet also pick up pace with a worried look on his face.
"What's going on?"
"Is she alright? What happened?"
"Can somebody say..." they don't wait to answers stiles question making him more on the edge more, stiles barged in the nurse and Doctors are focused on as they yell over to starts the defibrator. Stile's air gets knocked of his lungs there is all sort of wires and plugs hooked on your body, you face barely held any signs of life, the same feeling of seeing his mom on her last time comes to his mind, the dread he felt, how much he wanted to save her but he was unable to just like this time too he feels like he can't protect the people he loves.
Your name leaves his lips quietly before he starts to yell for you before he can run towards you the nurse pulls him away telling him to wait outside, they close the door.
Stiles hands shake as tears starts flow freely, he turns when he feels a hand on his shoulder scott stands beside with an equally red eye. He didn't leave when Mellissa asked him too, he couldn't bring himself to leave not after making sure that you are alright.
Stiles sniffles looking at scott before he wraps his arms around scott, scott quick to hold him their anger no loner seems to exist. Their fists clinging to clothes as hold on to each other.
"I don't wanna lose her too." Stiles whispers scott nod against him.
"I know, we will do whatever it takes to save her." scott answers his eyes fixed on the door his ears straining for the heartbeat he desperately wants to hear.
After what it felt like eternity melissa comes out she wasn't surprised to stiles and scott sitting along side they both stands up running towards her bombarding her with questions.
"What happened?"
"Is she okey mom?"
"What was that?"
She places her hands on their shoulders squeezing them to ground them and also to prevent them from running inside the room "Boys, clam down she's fine." She gently pushes them down to sit down.
"What happened?" scott asks his eyes pleading for his mother to tell them the truth.
She crouches down on their eyes level "its..."
"Don't lie to us." Stiles says scott nod along with him.
"Mom, please."
"Her heart suddenly stopped we don't know how or why. but she's stable now." Melissa is telling the truth you fine but suddenly how your heart stopped beating doesn't made any sense, the docter made sure that your vitals were normal that you were not in life threatening situation few hours ago.
"Is she gonna be okey?"
She glances at stiles "yes stiles, she is fine. She not in any danger now. We are going to monitor her for a while and I promise you, both of you she's going to fine. You two go home get some sleep."
"What if I leave, something like this happens again?" stiles voiced "can't we just stay?"
"Stiles."
"Mom, please let us stay. I don't think I can leave until she opens her eyes. Please mom let us stay." Melissa tried eyes look at them hesitantly before nodding at her stiles and scott.
