  SUMMARY:

Hiking in the woods just outside the school seemed to Jack like a surefire way to work out his calves and thigh muscles. There was also the added benefit of being in nature and feeling a sense of calm away from the chaos of NRC.

At least, that was how he felt until a chance encounter with someone he'd much rather not deal with then leads to more interesting developments.

Jade, for his part, had absolutely no ulterior motives when it came to his free time in the woods—unless, of course, one would call finding as many mushrooms as possible to take back to the cooks at NRC a motive—but that soon changes when a string of events has the Octavinelle Housewarden looking at Jack a lot differently these days.
