If someone asks you to googly-eye JtMS, you should just take a dollar and put googly eyes on Mr. Washington
This request did not age well. Anyway here's Jace!

do you think fox jace the mind sculptor is just a little bit curious about his sheath and knot? do you think he wonders how his paws will feel on them when hes got a bored quiet moment?

I really like Enlightened Ancestor and Promising Torrent as rares, because they offer big exciting payoffs, but have costs/conditions that make them pretty impractical to actually use. The YuGiOh approach to rare cards lol
With Horvor Superiors, something I worry about is using it to put worthless spells on top of your opponent's library to effectively make them skip their draw step. That does NOT feel good, and that kind of thing is the reason why modern effects of that style say "that card's owner puts it on the top or bottom of their library", to give them the choice so that they don't have to waste their next draw. Though I'm guessing the point of this card being able to target opponents' cards is meant to get rid of cards in the opponent's graveyard, so letting them put it on top would be bad. Maybe it could say something like "if you own it, put it on top of your library. Otherwise, put it on the bottom of its owner's library"? Pretty wordy, so idk. You could also just limit it to your own graveyard for simplicity.
Blue Rares
#look who's getting uppity about the little details of card design again lol#but yeah being able to control the top of your opponent's library is really dangerous#that's part of what made Jace the Mind Sculptor so strong#that along with. you know. everything else#that card was bullshit lol#of course all of this is kinda silly to worry about since these cards aren't actually going to be played#unless you're planning to print them out#but otherwise you can probably just make the effect work in whatever way fits the flavor best

When LSV recently did a top 50 vintage cube list, the #11 slot was Minsc and Boo, the first card on the list not from Alpha. Vintage cube red has gone from being one drop based to 3 and 4 drop based - because the power level of modern 3 and 4 cost cards is so high. Jace the Mind Sculptor is now an upper medium power planeswalker, not the ceiling. Is this not power creep?
Power creep isn't about us making individually strong cards. It's us making whole sets where the overall power level is higher than all the sets that came before it.

Headcanon that there is a vacation plane some oldwalker made that has just kinda been shmoovin along these past centuries, but with the omenpaths it's now the creme de la creme resort. Blue White is represented by classical music and opera shows, and surprise butches Dovin Baan has been hiding out here with new mechanical eyes and robot hands that can be taken out to form a pair of surveillance thopters he mind controls while working as conductor, trying to keep his identity a secret as more prominent Ravnicans and Kaladeshians arrive on the plane. To be clear, he realizes he kinda fucked up with the dragon thing, but it's less a redemption arc he gets and more "I'm on the side of order and law even more now", able to be ally or enemy depending on who is acting against order
I mean, that would be yet another jump the shark moment for magic... But I'd love a non-canon version of that. Make it a masters set full of reprints, but they're all vacation themed. Jace, the Mind Sculptor but it's Jace chilling on the beach

what's the most expensive card you've put googly eyes on? what's the most expensive one you hope to do?
I think in a weird twist of fate it's Hazezon Tamar, a random legend I've been holding onto for decades.
For hope to, probably one of the old arts for Berserk, those are so goofy. For now I'll have to settle with using the Googly Eyes Generator

A doll in April.
The rest of the world keeps running behind but that's okay. That just means it gets to prank a little later.
A few other dolls are hoping to meet with it soon, and it enjoys spending time with them.
But for April it has planned something amazing.
The doll joins the other dolls for a game of cards, but as the doll pulls out it's deck, they are from all sorts of games.
As they play the doll summons Charizard in attack mode, pulls out Jace the Mind sculptor, and yells "go fish!"
The other dolls stare in awe.
A few people nearby gape in horror.
The dolls witch picks the doll up, pats its head, and sighs.
"Good doll, you win. Happy April fools."

Cornwall's Random Card of the Day #714: Jace, the Mind Sculptor
YOUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!
Jace, the Wallet Mind Sculptor is a mythic rare from Worldwake, seen here in its Double Masters printing. This guy. Un-FUCKING-believable. This was the first planeswalker to go full broke, and coincidentally the first one with four abilities. Surprise, surprise. I mean, just look at 0 ability, it fucking Brainstorms. You can fuck with opponents(or I guess your own) draws with the + ability, and for a mere -1, you bounce a creature. This thing was made to be a chase mythic.
It got particularly infamous as part of the Caw Blade deck, which exploited broken equipment with a white creature which summoned others from your deck with the same name to your hand when it showed up. It was already w/u, and this just helped the engine flow smoothly. You can get a better rundown on how exactly it was broken in constructed by someone more into that sort of thing, but to me it will forever be that card which cemented Jace as being loathed by the Magic community at large, and which I said upon seeing it "That's fucking broken.". Now, I have been wrong about such things before, but this time, I was 100% fucking RIGHT.
