On September 24, 2013, the MCU officially crossed over into TV with the pilot for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. To help with the transition, the episode starred Clark Gregg's character Phil Coulson, who was already an MCU recurring character (though officially dead) and also featured Colbie Smulders returning in her role as Agent Maria Hill. The episode brought Deathlok and Daisy Johnson/Quake into the MCU, though neither were revealed as such at the time. The first team that was formed in this episode was made up of Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen), Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), Skye/Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet), Leo Fitz (Iian De Caestecker), and Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge).
