Nebbie Tumblin' In!
[ Captains Log ]
Day: 916 Location: 40.978, -74.065
Entry: It's been 248 days since Nebbie rolled into the North East, specifically NJ, and both J and I are certainly feeling it. That is, the itch to get back on the road. All the places we still have yet to see, my memories teasing me with images from distant landscapes, my camera roll certainly more extinguished, the new push pin map begging for more red dots. But being back has been INCREDIBLE. Seeing family and friends, sharing the holidays, having planned outings, staying in NYC, and working through vehicle upgrades, maintenance and other scheduled fixings for Nebbie.
After having been traveling for two years, six months and five days we encountered some much needed tweaks and fixes. - Roof Re-Sealing / Rubberizing - Generator Removal - Fabrication / Welding of underbody steel battery container - Solar upgrade from 500w, to 1500w - New Shock Absorbers - Couch Rebuild / Re-Cushioning - AC Parts replacement - New Desk Build / Install - Transmission / Oil - Fluid / Filter Changes
Most of this was completed prior to Dec, and upon moving to our last site while going through repairs, and checking all her bolts I encountered one more critical repair required. Unfortunately the manufactures for Nebbie (Now liquidated and out of business), improperly welded the steel brackets that adhere from the bottom of the house to the vehicle frame chassis. Resulting in 6 of 8 brackets having buckled and cracked/failed throughout our, and probably the owner before us' travels.
So, with the final completion of those steel chassis brackets welded and installed we will be entirely prepped for our endeavor south. Which should be completed in approximately six days.
Aside from that, things are feeling appropriately setup in the rig, the move from our last site to here had felt astonishing in comparison to how Nebbie was feeling/handling on our way in.
We will see how the next few days progress, and with any luck we'll be full sail by Feb 1st. - Transmission End -

2020-06-07: Roofing, and starting demolition
We decided on asphalt shingles and picked them up the day before, along with all the fascia and flashings we would need on the roof and for the siding. I started off installing the fascia boards, and then J spent basically the entire day (about 7 hours) hammering in shingles on the roof. I was down below installing the door, and starting on demolition. More of the bathroom walls were torn down, and the toilet tank was removed.
We started with removing the remaining boards nailed to the roof on the front of the cabin. To my surprise, as I was prying the board off, two tiny frogs hopped out! They had been living in the pile of dead leaves that had settled above the board. Next, the wood stove was removed, and I took down the stove pipe. There was no graceful way to do it except let it topple, so unfortunately the top cap got banged up badly, but the other sections are essentially all fine.
I also removed the siding from one of the gable walls, and bagged up something like 4 or 5 trash bags full of insulation and poop. It was a relief to see that the anchor bolts holding the sill plates down were in decent shape and that the nuts could be removed. This simplifies anchoring any new structure since I certainly don’t want to go through drilling new anchors again.
At the end of the day, the shelves were set up inside the shed, and we now had a functional storage space.

Making of the Round-House
Why round, you might ask? Well, why not round, I might ask back! A round house has distinct advantages in terms of thermal insulation, and structural stability. Given that the winters here are cold, and I want to keep the house comfortably warm using only the power my microhydro plant can deliver, I need excellent insulation. That alone is reason enough to make the house round.
Here the building site has been staked out, with the height of the stakes marking the horizontal plane.
This machine dug the platform in about 10 hours. The earth was deposited 40 meters away, behind that tree that's behind the machine, where it does not cause trouble.
The trenches for the foundations are 110cm deep. This rather large depth was thought necessary, because the ground is very soft. The wall foundations will be 50cm wide, and the pillars will rest on square pads varying in size according to the load on each pillar.
After installing the moulds (with round shape and all) around the steel, it was back to concrete pouring.
The concrete was mixed on site, because the place is too far away from a city to bring in ready-mixed concrete. The mixer got a brand new gasoline engine, because its existing electric motor did not run with our 2kW generators, and my water turbine is still not online!
The seventeen thousand bricks have arrived!
The bricks walls are standing, now the concrete pillars have to be filled.
This form was made from plywood supported on thick pine beams, which were mounted on wooden pillars, much cheaper then renting steel structures. The same wood parts will be re-used for the concrete ceiling.
It took two days to do this job, but after working into the night and then starting early the next day, the concrete should still set as one piece. The low temperature helps in this, as it slows down the setting. In this photo, the job is almost done!
The finishing touches. Later on, a finishing layer of fine concrete will be added over this coarse and rough structural layer.
So, slowly, three brick layers at a time, all around, the house is growing, and it resisted the next two storms...
And a view out of the other living room window, onto a roble tree in autumn colors.
Finally poured concrete after a tiring day.
The eight main beams will be joined at the midpoint. For this purpose, a steel star was needed.
The area under the roof will not be used, at least for now.
All main beams are in place, and the flag is flying, fulfilling an old tradition for newly built houses! In this way, the vertical tube of my steel star got its first use.
The roof structure is being filled out with the secondary beams. Note the wet walls. While most photos were made in good weather, most of the work progressed during rain, storm, icing, and at temperatures around the freezing point. It's mid winter.
When the roof was fully covered, metal straps were installed along the joints. These might help with waterproofing when there is high wind, but the main reason for them is some degree of lightning protection.
Omega-shaped profiles were installed in vertical orientation, at 60cm distance between them. They were bolted to J-bolts embedded in the mortar of the brick walls, and their tops were bolted to a support angle attached to the roof.
The window and door cutouts got fibercement planks screwed onto metal angle stock as a finish. The roof overhang was also finished with this material.

Solar panel installing guide
Let us talk about how to install solar panels. You can use the services of an EPC installer or can do-it-yourself. Given below is the solar installation guide for an off grid solar system which is simple and easy.
A prospective solar buyer can read this blog and understand how to install solar panels on his own at his home. We have already discussed about 1 kW rooftop solar system installation. How Do I Know If My Roof Is Suitable For Solar Panels https://www.solarafter.com/how-do-i-know-if-my-roof-is-suitable-for-solar-panels
Here is the simple steps to install solar panels
Step – 1: Solar Panel Installation Made Easy Step – 2: Assembly of Solar Panels Step – 3: Electrical Wiring Step – 4: Connection between Solar Panel and Solar Inverter Step – 5: Connection between Solar Inverter and Solar Battery Step – 6: Connection between Solar Inverter and Grid Step – 7: Start Solar Inverter through Solar Panel & Grid Step – 8: See Solar Panel Installation Video Step – 1: Solar Panel Installation Made Easy
Which direction should be the solar panel face?
The mounting structure provides the base for the entire solar system so make sure it is sturdy and properly fastened to the rooftops of your house or commercial establishment. A typical mounting structure is made up of aluminium. The performance of the solar panels depends upon the direction in which these panels are placed. The best direction to face solar panels is south, since here they receive the maximum sunlight. East and West directions also work well. North is the only direction that we should not want to put our panels on. Since India lies in Northern Hemisphere, south direction works best here. Rooftop Solar Mounting Structure is used to fix solar panel with it. You can fix both monocrystalline and polycrystalline panel with it. This is ready to use structure of 1 kw, offered by loomsolar.com. You can connect 4 panel of 270 watt. Do Solar Work In Places That Gets Snow https://www.solarafter.com/do-solar-work-in-winter-or-in-places-that-gets-snow
In Which angle should you install solar panels?
The Solar panel tilt angle (the angle between the horizontal ground and the solar module) should be decided according to the latitude of your location anywhere in the world. It is generally believed that the modules placed at a tilt angle equivalent to the latitude of the place, would generate the maximum energy output. You can also use a solar tracker to increase the conversion efficiency.
Here are the latitudes of leading cities in India -
States –
Zone -1: J&K, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand – 30-360 Zone – 2: Rajasthan, UP, Delhi, Haryana, Bihar, North EASTERN STATES – 24-300 Zone – 3: Gujarat, MP, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Orissa – 18-240 Zone – 4: Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, AP, Telengana, Kerala – 12-180 Step – 2: Assemble Solar Panels Once the solar structure is fixed accurately, we will connect it with solar modules. We should ensure that all nuts and bolts of solar modules are fixed with solar structure so that it is properly secured and lasts long. can i buy solar panels and install myself https://www.solarafter.com/can-i-buy-solar-panels-and-install-myself Step-3: Electrical Wiring MC4 connectors are used to connect solar panels. These are universal connectors and can be connected with any type of solar panels. The solar array wiring becomes simpler and faster using MC4 connectors. Few modern solar modules come with wire leads that have MC4 connectors on the ends, else they have a built-in junction box at the back with wires jotting out. In a series connection you will have to connect the positive wire from one module to the negative wire of another module. In a parallel connection, you connect the positive to positive and negative to negative leads. A parallel connection maintains the voltage of each panel while a series connection increases the voltage in order to match it with the battery bank. Step-4: Connection between Solar Panel and Solar Inverter
In the picture given below, the backside of an inverter is shown where solar panel wire is connected. Connect the positive wire from the solar panel with the positive inverter terminal and the negative wire with negative terminal of the inverter. There are other connections too like battery wire connection and output wire connection with the inverter. In all, Solar panel, Solar Battery and Grid input are connected with the solar inverter to produce electricity. The output of a series string of solar modules is connected to the input of the inverter. Make sure the inverter is turned off while the connections are being done. Step-5: Connection between Solar Inverter and Solar Battery In an off grid solar system, Battery is mandatory where it is used to store power backup. This battery is connected with solar inverter to recharge it with solar panel and grid. The positive terminal of the battery is connected with the positive of the inverter and vice versa. Step-6: Connection between Solar Inverter and Grid In order to connect the inverter to the grid simply plug it in in the main power switch board, so that it gets power from the grid. The output wire is also connected with board that is supplying electricity in home. In order to calculate the excess energy generated from the solar system we need to install a metering device. We need to connect the positive wire from the metering device with the line terminal and the negative wire to the neutral terminal of the inverter. How to Calculate My Solar Power Needs https://www.solarafter.com/how-to-calculate-my-solar-power-needs
Step-7: Start Solar Inverter through Solar Panel & Grid After all the connections are done, we switch on the mains. There is a digital display which shows the total solar unit generated during the day, what is supply volt and current (amp) from solar panel etc. In the picture below is shown the front side of Microtek solar inverter.

Collin: No, it doesn't feel like I'm empty or whatever. It just won't...go, I guess? I don't know, I've just felt off today in general and this isn't helping much. alienrabitt: Off? Do you need to go see XL? Collin: I don't think so. I don't feel sick, it's just like...
His voice trails off as his breathing becomes slightly heavier. He turns to the side in his chair, propping up one arm over the back of it and putting the other hand up near his chest.
Immediately sitting upright on the bed, Jay quickly shoves himself off as he stumbles in his rush to Collin's side. "C-Collin?! What's wrong?" Collin: I-I.... don't know... J-Jay?
He pushes himself out of the chair and then just as quickly collapses. As he tumbles to the ground in a heap, Jay can see a faint blinking of orange and red lights in the center of Collin's chest underneath his clothes. Unsure of what else to do after hastily moving Collin onto the bed, Jay quickly bolts out of the room to look for Fawkes and XL. Jay almost immediately runs into Fawkes as he walks down the hallway toward his room. He seems to look Jay up and down for a split second before speaking up. "Jay? Is something wrong?" alienrabitt: C-Collin; something happened with the thing in his chest again, he--, he collapsed in the room; I don't know what's wrong... Fawkes: ... I'll go take a look and see if I can figure anything out. Have you told XL yet? Are we bringing her to him or the other way around? alienrabitt: I was just about to go get her, I can do whatever's easiest, I'll, uhh...I'll probably bring her to you, it's faster, we'll move him less.... Fawkes: Okay, I'll see you there. Don't worry, he'll be alright. Nodding nervously, Jay says nothing else as he quickly scrambles for XL's room, bringing her along to meet back up with Fawkes in his and Collin's room moments later.
XL: ...How's it looking? Fawkes: I'm... not sure. I'm not familiar with this pattern that it's showing, and he seems... Approaching the bedside, XL uses her glasses to scan Collin for anything that could be physically wrong with him. As XL begins her scan, his vital signs rapidly diminish until Collin is essentially lifeless. XL: ...I...how did this happen? How could he just...? ...I can't even do anything? Wh-what are you saying? He...he can't just....
Turning to face Jay, XL shakes her head. "I'm...I'm sorry, I just...we didn't get here fast enough; I'm not even sure what caused the problem..."
She carries on talking, trying to console Jay, but ultimately not being able to give him a proper excuse or answer for how this failed to be prevented. Jay, however, does not seem to process anything she says as he backs out into the hallway, backs into the wall, and slides down to the floor, his gaze locked on Collin's body as he chokes on a variety of words that all fall too short of coming out properly in any way. Rapidly overwhelmed by the situation, Jay's heart physically beats out of his chest in his panic, and the entire IT begins to shake as the lights shift to a deep blue. XL makes a nervous, half-hearted attempt to say more, but is drowned out by Jay's abrupt screaming as the entirety of the IT is enveloped within the light of his oracle. Moments later, his screams stop abruptly, and the rest of the crew of the IT finds themselves seated upon the ground or abruptly standing in the middle of what appears to be a dark, empty city, streets lined with any kind of lights that could possibly be found; neon signs, Christmas lights, lampposts, anything and everything lines the buildings, the windows, the doorways, as the cloudy sky above lets no light, sun; moon; or otherwise through.
Standing across from the scattered group stands Tori, who stuffs their hands into the pockets of their jacket and lets out a long, slow sigh.
Tori: It's a long way home from here, Dorothy.
Daedalus: Wh-What the hell...? Where the hell are we?
its Proto Nova!
Tori: Doesn't really have a name. The Cobalts don't like me enough to discuss stuff like that; they're too busy being...weird. Daedalus: The what? Don't just say things like we're supposed to already know this!
Precantaro: I don't understand, what happened? Why are we suddenly in... this place? Tori: Well, alright; see, normally Jay can make gates to other places, but he needs Demo in order to pick a destination. And as a hermes, Jay was capable of creating illusions and distractions and stuff, right? So, what happens when Jay makes a gate with no set destination to a place that has no physical form? Well, it...temporarily becomes physical, at the cost of...
She points way up to the top of the sky, where a bright, blue light can be seen shining distantly. "...That. His oracle flies way the hell away from him so it's harder to dispel the...area, or whatever. But also, he doesn't have a source of magic to draw from when he does this, and it takes a lot of magic; so where's he getting all that? Well, with his oracle so far away, it can't pull from him, or anything around him..."
She looks back down at the group.
"...So it's just recycling its own magic; and every time it does that, it gets a little less back until, well...you get the point. Basically he's gonna keep this place up until somebody pulls him back to his body, or until all his magic burns out and his oracle goes dark, at which point you guys get to go home, and hell if I know what happens to the two of us. As for the Cobalts, they're...basically you guys, but not really you. They're Jay's perceptions of you."
so implication-wise, an oracle going dark sounds like it burns out of magic entirely
now, I said that, normally, if a kleivenn died, they’d vanish without a trace; but if a kleivenn goes dark, their oracle stays behind; an empty shell; a wish with no backing or tether; and the amount of magic it needs to reignite? well, I don’t know quite yet but if it ever comes up, uhh...we’ll find out
Daedalus: ... Incredible. Not a single bit of that sounded like a good thing.
Fawkes: So we're... inside Jay's mind, essentially? Tori: More like Jay brought his mental landscape to the physical world, but yeah, I guess you could say that. It's not like you could do anything weird or anything just by being here. Even if you killed a Cobalt, another would just show up. Well, except for Collin's; but you'll get to see that thing in person. Anyway, we should probably get going, there's a lot of stairs between you and that oracle...
this line vaguely implies that Collin’s Cobalt might be the only destructible one. I wanna clarify it’s actually the opposite; Collin’s Cobalt is legitimately indestructible
Precantaro: You still haven't explained why Jay did this. Tori: Has anyone seen Collin anywhere? I mean, he's...kind of the only one who can fix this without stuff getting weird...you guys did wake him up, right? Fawkes: He's... not here anymore. Tori: If he's so dead, why are your god friends not dead? Precantaro: W-Well, since the connection that used to sustain us was severed, it's... possible that we could still-
There is a sudden loud coughing fit from the ground as Collin suddenly begins breathing again. He sucks in a few ragged, air-starved breaths, and his eyes snap open once more. The blinking lights in his chest turn to a solid green for a few seconds before fading away entirely. He squints against the strange lighting as he looks around himself in a weary daze.
Collin: W... Where...? XL: Y-you're...you're okay! That's such a relief; I saw you like that and I just...you, uhh, are okay now, right?
Tori: I hope so; otherwise you're all in some serious trouble. Collin: I.... I'm a little dizzy, but... What happened? XL: It...it looked like you were dead...
Tori: ...So Jay sort of freaked out, and uhh...did all this! So now you're in a projection of our...uhh...whatever... Collin: ... Remind me to not die again.
He pushes himself up into a seated position on the ground. Daedalus: You got it. I'll put it down next to "Don't lose the other leg" and "Steal more of Merlin's wardrobe".
Collin: Thanks, your words mean so much to me.
Daedalus: It's either this or think about what Jay's perception clone of me will look like, and frankly this is far more enjoyable. Tori: L-look, can we please talk about all this on the way? There's...lots of stairs. I seriously cannot emphasize how many stairs are in your future. I hope you're not out of shape. This could take a few hours... Daedalus: All this imagination power and you couldn't install an escalator... Alright, fine, let's get moving.
Fawkes helps Collin up onto his feet and then puts him up on his back for a little while as the group begins climbing the staircase. The group enters the most central building among the city, a large building that seems to have stairs on each side, presumably zig-zagging all the way up to the roof. The first four Cobalts come into view; Firefly, Maya, Fawkes, and Karumet. Cobalt Fawkes is lying upon the ground a few feet away from the trio, his visor entirely dark as his body lies unresponsively. Cobalt Firefly pins Cobalt Maya to the floor, who continues laughing hysterically, repeatedly mentioning "He wasn't real, so it didn't matter!" while Cobalt Karumet shakes her head and continues to write down notes in a notepad in her hands.
The actual Maya seems uncomfortable with this, glancing away from the scene as the group continues onward. Fawkes: This place is... unsettling. Tori: The Cobalts are all based on Jay's perception of you; I'm not sure what to tell you...
this is actually reflective of Maya firing the blanks at Jay and how Maya didn’t think it was a big deal when Jay did. as a result, Cobalt Maya disregards the rights of all things she considers “fake” and doesn’t care about the consequences of pulling pranks using fake weaponry and stuff like that. it also kinda reflects how he doesn’t really understand what Fawkes’ purpose is, and how he doesn’t really feel like he knows who Fawkes is now
Daedalus: "Be prepared for some unpleasant discoveries", maybe? Tori: ...Well, you might not always like what you see, that's for sure, but I can't say much else. I didn't have any say in the Cobalts being what they are; they do, say, and act as they do, because that's how you seem to Jay. That's all there is to it. Daedalus: Sheesh, and I thought I was the ray of sunshine in this group. The group carries on up several more floors before they come across Cobalt Nydins; Rio; and Hod. Cobalt Rio and Hod, though physically separate, seem to be shackled together by the ankle, Cobalt Hod being dragged around like a ball on a chain as she sits on the floor with her arms crossed stubbornly while Cobalt Rio continues trying to help Nydins with her work. Cobalt Nydins looks through seemingly endless stacks of papers, each one unfolding with more and more pages than the last. None of them seem to make any notice of the group as they carry on.
this one’s pretty straightforward. Jay thinks that, as long as Hod’s a part of Rio, she’s preventing Rio from doing a lot of the things she normally did
Jay also sees Nydins as little more than a busybody that takes care of all the technical behind the scenes stuff at this point
Collin: Well, it... could be worse, I guess? Hod: ...Yeah, I guess...let's just keep going.
The group continues up even more stairs and floors, where they eventually find Cobalt Silky and Cobalt XL. Cobalt XL, unlike all the other Cobalts, is entirely blue, while the others simply only had blue eyes.
CXL: ...I'm serious! This is getting to be too much; I mean, fighting wars is one thing, but all this magic, and now gods? Ritual sacrifices? Look, we should just...ditch these people. All of them. They're helpless; hopeless; there's nothing I can do for any of them; this is only gonna get worse until it just becomes a day to day thing where people keep coming in dead or worse, and I didn't sign up for that!
CSilky: But...you didn't sign up at all. You just came along with me. And we're helping people! They need us!
CXL: They don't need us! They don't need anybody; look at them! They don't even think they need each other; why the hell else would they be so reckless?! Bonding their souls; tearing each other apart; housing rogue AIs; these people are just time bombs of mistakes and murder, and I can't help them forever.
CSilky: Then help you while you can; even if you can't save any of them from what they're deciding to do, their time here is still precious, even if it's laughably short. These people are our family; wouldn't you do the same thing for your dads?
CXL: My dads wouldn't be stupid enough to get wrapped up in something over their heads!
CSilky: Red did. Mine did. What makes you think these people are different? Would you turn them away for making the same choices?
CXL: I don't want to turn them away; damn it; I want to stop them; to save them; to help them; but they're all going to die!!
CSilky: Then that's not your fault; it's theirs. It was their decision; now do what you can to support them until it's over, and then we can go home again and tell them what we've always told everybody else. We did everything we could...
CXL: ...But it still wasn't good enough.
I think this one gets explained IC, but this one’s based off a passing conversation Jay overheard out of context
Daedalus: ... Yikes. XL: ...Why the hell would he...?
Silky: ...Please tell me the roof is close...
Tori: ...Not close enough for your comfort. Daedalus: I get the feeling Jay is gonna wish he was the one that almost died after this is all over. The group carries on up yet another set of floors, where they eventually run into the Cobalt Pantheon. Sanglied is seated by themself, eating and drinking away excitedly as they pause between bites and sips to boast out loud. "...And they did it all! Helped us out; gave us everything we ever could've wanted, and we got it all! Another human got hurt; who cares? There's millions; billions; he's so expendable it's hilarious! I mean, yeah, sometimes we have to help out I guess, but that's a pretty small price to pay for being able to live again, don't you think? Hahaha...!"
But they shift to Tellus, the entire atmosphere of the room shifting as she cries into her hands, covering her face in shame. "...I just don't understand! We...we didn't want to hurt anybody; what did we do wrong? We never asked for any of this; we just...we were just...why? Why doesn't he trust us? Why does he hate us so much? Why does he want us to die again? It doesn't make any sense; even if we try to fix everything, he still just...what else are we supposed to do?"
this one’s literally just “I don’t know shit about these people or their motives and this is a huge misunderstanding” but somehow it got taken personally even though it was blatantly hammed up to be Not Like Them?
Precantaro lets out a small choked sob that does not sound at all like his normal voice. He firmly grasps the collar of his robe in one hand and clenches it in a tight fist.
Precantaro: Easy you two, easy... It's raw subconsciousness, you can't let it get to- and they're gone...
He sighs sadly. "We knew this was going to be harsh, but..."
Collin: It's alright. I know you guys aren't like that. Now that we're not connected like that anymore, maybe things will get better? Tori: ...I don't think there's much left... Daedalus: Boy oh boy, I can't wait to get roasted alive by Jay's subconscious... The group continues up even more floors, reaching Cobalt Daedalus; Clair; and Demo. Cobalt Daedalus and Clair seem more occupied with each other, both discussing things casually, yet happily, carrying on standard conversations between each other, while Cobalt Demo, who is seated at a desk, continues to write note, after note, after note of words she can't seem to say in person, every single one littering the radius around her until the floor has nearly been covered in her anxious, unspoken feelings. There is a singular, small vial of a glowing blue liquid on top of the desk in front of her, floating patiently, yet untouched, just within her view. Every time the pair of Cobalts behind her laugh with each other, she glances up at the vial reflectively, only to continue flooding the room with notes. The notes themselves never seem to reach Cobalt Daedalus, crumpling up; blowing away; or bursting into flames before any of them can even remotely come close enough to get his attention.
Demo, refusing to make eye contact with anybody around her, tugs nervously at her scarf, wordlessly wishing it would choke her to death on its own as she carries on alone without comment.
this is like, really parallel to that weird scene in Harry Potter where Ron’s got the horcrux necklace and he sees that twisted vision of Harry and Hermione making out or whatever but it’s not actually based off that
Daedalus looks arguably more shocked than if he'd seen some sort of dark, twisted version of himself. He tries to start several sentences but keeps trailing off into confused noises as he looks between Clair, Demo, and the Cobalt duplicates of themselves.
Collin: I don't know if I'm more surprised at this room or at Daedalus being speechless for once. Clair's face turns very fuchsia as she glances out one of the nearby windows. "...I...th-this is just what he thinks, right? We didn't...we're not...this..." Daedalus: Can we just... not be here now? I don't know why we keep stopping to look at this point... Tori: I...think the roof isn't too far, at least? Collin: I guess that just leaves one more, huh?
He taps Fawkes on the shoulder, prompting him to lower him back down. Standing on his own again, he takes one deep breath to steady himself. "So... what do we do once we're up there?" Tori: You just need to bring Jay's oracle, that shiny blue thing waaaay up in the sky, back down to his body. Collin: But... how? It's not like I can just jump up and grab it. Can I even use magic in here? Tori: Can't someone carry you? Fawkes: Assuming my jetpack still works, I could probably get us up there. Tori: Why wouldn't it? This place is as real as you are. It's just a projection. Fawkes: Then we should be able to get up there just fine. Nodding, Tori leads the group up to the roof, where Cobalt Collin stays seated patiently alongside Jay's body. There do not seem to be Cobalt versions of Azreldeh nor Tori, as he seems to be on the roof alone otherwise, save for Demo, who seems to be ignoring him about as much as he's ignoring her.
Jay hasn’t known Azreldeh long enough to have an opinion on her at this point, so she doesn’t have a Cobalt yet
Collin: Uh... Well this isn't so bad, I guess? CCollin: I mean, Jay doesn't have his oracle again, but I guess everything else is alright. Yourself included. Good to know; he's even more dependent on you now, after all. Collin: I... I know. It wasn't really my choice, but it can't be helped. CCollin: What kind of excuse is that? Everything that's happened to him could've been helped. Collin: W-Well, I couldn't exactly stop him from making that wish that bound us like this. It was just them at that point, that's all I mean. CCollin: Look, what are you even doing here? You're alive; that's great; go home already. Collin: I will, I just need to get his oracle back down here first. Just give me a few minutes... CCollin: Don't you think you've done enough? I mean, seriously, he even did all this just because of us; why the hell would you think you should go anywhere near him again? Hell, the only reason I'm parked here beside him is to tell the next guy congratulations and good luck, because gods know we sure as hell weren't fit for this. Collin takes a deep breath before answering. "I... I can't think about that right now. He trusted me with his life, and now I have to save him. That's what he did for us, and it's what we'll do for him. Whether we deserve him or not, that's not for us to decide. I just need to keep trying to prove that I do." CCollin: He did trust us, and we let him down, over, and over, and over. And then he tried to compromise; he bound his life to ours to prove that he was dedicated, that he meant it, but you still weren't happy with that. Now he's just...recycling himself until somebody pulls him out of the sky, and all you can think about is how you have to be the hero again? You're joking, right? Listen to me, we don't deserve him; let him go already. We've hurt him enough. All he ever wanted was to be his own person; we should've given him that a long time ago. Collin: Letting him go right now won't do that for him! You think I don't want him to be free or something? I'd just be hurting him again if I didn't do something about all of this! CCollin: Who the hell said you had to do it? You're not the only one who can go up there and bring him down; the only damn thing you need to do is say sorry, and move on. It's what we deserve. Collin: ... Fuck that. I'm saving my boyfriend.
He hops onto Fawkes' back, who then quickly takes his cue and deploys his jetpack and takes off into the air toward the oracle.
while his Cobalt had some valid points, that’s just the most raw-ass line I’ve seen in ages
Jay's oracle remains in the sky, alone and unguarded, flashing every once in a while as it recycles its own magic. Fawkes flies in close enough for Collin to reach out and take hold of the oracle, cradling it against his chest. He taps Fawkes' shoulder, signaling him to fly back down to Jay. There is a bitter acceptance in Cobalt Collin's expression as he steps away from Jay's body, watching his counterpart approach. "...You can help him if you want; but you're only gonna make this worse." Collin stares at his counterpart for a few seconds, a frustrated look creeping over his face. Shaking it off, he kneels down next to Jay and returns his oracle to him. With his oracle returned, the IT returns to its proper state; however everyone is now crowded inside Collin and Jay's room. Collin: ... Uh, welcome? alienrabitt: Ugh...wh...what happened? Collin? You're okay...? Collin: Yeah, I'm alright, promise. What about you? alienrabitt: ...Just a little lightheaded. Everything still feels like the room's shaking...it's not actually shaking, right? Collin: No, it's fine. I'm sorry I scared you like that. I think my body finally caught up to the shock of that whole "being disconnected from gods" thing. alienrabitt: I'm...not really sure what just happened, but I'm glad you're okay after all... Daedalus: You kinda projected your entire mind over the IT, but it's no big deal. alienrabitt: I...what?? Collin: He's not kidding, for once. We had to make our way through this tall building to get to you and put your oracle back. alienrabitt: W-well that's not so bad...that sounded a lot worse... Daedalus: I mean, aside from the part where we met clones of ourselves that act like the way you think about us, it was alright. The lights were pretty, at least. Jay's expression shifts from scared, to ashamed, and even to guilty as he decides he can no longer meet the eyes of anyone else in the room, immediately staring down at the floor. "I-it's not just...I...." His face screws up like his mouth fills with ash as he fails to come up with any sort of defense. Precantaro: In all fairness, it's not exactly... well, fair to be put in a position where your unprocessed feelings can be freely exposed. That being said... it wasn't pretty. alienrabitt: ...I'm...I'm sorry...that wasn't right; those...those weren't...they... Daedalus: I sense a lot of impending heavy conversations in the near future... Demo: ...Don't bother. Clearly Jay knows us well enough he doesn't even need to say anything.
alienrabitt: That's...that's not...
Shaking her head, Demo leaves the room, Nydins and Rio slipping out behind her as Nydins attempts to console her.
XL: ...You've been eavesdropping on people, haven't you? ...Maybe next time you'll get the whole story before you just...
Frustrated, XL leaves the room, Silky hurrying after her.
Maya: ...You're rapidly losing the trust of your friends; if you can even call them that after this stunt. Precantaro: You also owe Tellus and Sanglied an apology, but... not right now. If you'll excuse us...
He tugs on his cloak and adjusts it slightly and then quickly hurries out of the room.
Precantaro: hey you can’t be blamed for all this, these are weird circumstances and that clearly wasn’t you just trying to be mean
Precantaro: *blames Jay, tells him to say sorry*
Collin: ... It was pretty bad in there, I'm not gonna lie to you. alienrabitt: ...I don't even know what happened...I didn't have any say or sway over any of this; it just...it just happened behind my back...everyone's upset, but I don't even know what I did... Collin: Well... I can't really sugarcoat this, but I think you just dumped your worst feelings about everyone on the IT through those clones. The only people that didn't really get the worst of it were Azreldeh, Clair, and Daedalus.
Daedalus: And I'm not sure what that says about you, all things considered. alienrabitt: ...I just...I don't...I'm sorry...I'm really sorry...
Azreldeh: That's not even what you think about half those people; that's how you think they feel; I could tell. Demo's face said plenty; and I know you don't think Collin doesn't deserve you. You think Demo feels rejected; you think Collin hates himself. That's what those things were. People are only looking at this from the worst angle because that's how they see it; but there's more than one side to every coin. Not to say those are good things; it's pretty obvious that those Cobalts are personal for both parties involved...
alienrabitt: ...You...saw the Cobalts? All of them? Collin: Everyone except for Azreldeh, I think. Azreldeh: Not totally true. We didn't see Tori's, and we didn't see yours.
alienrabitt: ...You didn't see Tori's because they are their own Cobalt...and you didn't see mine because...
Azreldeh: ...You thought Collin was dead?
alienrabitt: ...You...could say that...if you wanted to be nice. Collin: What is that supposed to mean? alienrabitt: ...You didn't see my Cobalt because I wasn't there myself. He's...literally...nothing without Collin. Collin: ... Oh. Jay, that's... Azreldeh: ...Uhh...I guess I didn't have one 'cause nobody would've been able to tell the difference, haha... Daedalus: I can't help but notice that you seem awfully familiar with this kind of thing... Azreldeh: Of course I am. Demon reflections are basically the same way. They reflect our true intentions; they're the fastest way to tell how we really feel about something...but it only works in the mirror, of course, so it wouldn't work around a normal mirror. Daedalus: Well, guess I shouldn't be surprised by that.
Collin: Do you think if he explained what was really going on with those Cobalts, the others might...? Azreldeh: I don't think they'd be too happy regardless. I mean, they weren't just Jay's raw perception; they were a mix of how he saw people and how he figures you saw yourselves. They're also loaded with misinformation; I eavesdrop enough around this place to know XL didn't mean anything like that when she said she felt like things were getting dicey around here. Overall, this is a /huge/ misunderstanding...but it also still really sucks. Collin: No kidding... God, what a mess. Azreldeh: Look, that's tomorrow's conversation; for now, I think it's up to you two to hug things out and stuff. Besides, after all that, I don't think Jay's the only one who has things they need to say...
Daedalus: Well, sounds like my cue to get the hell out. You have fun with... all of that.
He gives a small wave over his shoulder as he steps out of their room. The room empties out properly, leaving Jay and Collin to themselves. Jay, still confused, ashamed, and overwhelmed by everything happening so quickly, cannot seem to come up with anything to say. Collin: ... So uh... Cobalt me is really annoying, huh? alienrabitt: You're not annoying, I just...I have no idea what I'm doing anymore, or what I even am, let alone what I'm doing or why; so that threw your Cobalt off too. He doesn't know what to do with me; he doesn't feel like he's even supposed to have me anymore; he's...he's so overwhelmed by how he feels about stuff that he doesn't even care what I think. Collin: I... guess I sort of understand, but that still seems really damn selfish if you ask me. It's not like an identity that changes every month or so is any easier for you to handle, y'know? alienrabitt: ...Yeah, he can be a little selfish. I don't think he understands that I don't want to be anybody else's; even if he wants me to be free, he doesn't really get that what I want from a relationship is separate from what I want for, well...my life. He feels like it's kind of synonymous; taking the fact that my oracle's my heart a little too literally. Winning me over, having me like you, that's got nothing to do with how I wound up like this. I wound up this way because of my own bad choices; he just doesn't want to admit I can be in the wrong when you've been the one jumping through hoops to fix things. He feels like what we have is something really fragile, like one big mistake could leave him alone in an alley again or something, but I wouldn't do that to anybody...he just doesn't understand anything... Collin: And... that's really what you think I'm like? alienrabitt: It's...the Cobalts are complicated; the way that I see people and the way things come off spur of the moment leads to a weird mix; they aren't perfectly how I see anybody. I'd say the Cobalts are more of...the things I notice the most; the things I get stuck on; what I worry about; what could happen...
that’s just a long winded yes, frankly
Collin: Well that's a little more comforting, I guess. For what it's worth, I don't really feel like our relationship is that brittle. The only thing that scares me is this whole "our lives are intertwined" thing, honestly. alienrabitt: I mean, it scares me too a little...you guys wouldn't have seen all the Cobalts if what happened today hadn't shaken me. But I don't know what else to do; I...I don't want to do anything without you.... Collin: I understand, Jay. It just scares me, given all the crazy stuff that happens to us all the time. If I make a wrong move or some freak accident like... this happens, then I'm responsible for what happens to you too. I don't want to be the reason for hurting you... alienrabitt: I don't care if I get hurt. I'm just a wish, after all. Eventually, after you'd died anyway, I would die without you too. It'd probably take a while; I mean, there's always gonna be people who need help getting out of bad situations somewhere; but when the IT burns out, when everyone else dies, and when I'd be left alone, there wouldn't be a damn thing worth fighting for left, and that's reason enough for me to not want to see that. Collin: ... God, this got dark fast. I can't really argue with you there, though. That... doesn't sound like the best of times, does it? alienrabitt: ...Look, I'm sorry the Cobalts were the way that they were; I don't really have as much sway over them being what they are as it sounded, and you guys weren't meant to see them, especially not like that, but aside from that, I don't really have anything I could say or do about all this... Collin: I mean, you're gonna have to try and explain all of that to the others at some point. Right now I'm pretty sure everyone thinks you hate them. You can't just... not confront that.
if that’s seriously all you got out of looking at a raw concept that’s blatantly something up for interpretation then you literally didn’t try to look past the surface at all and that’s on you. I just hope somebody got something out of this besides “Jay’s bitter” or I’m gonna be seriously upset because this would be Mondo Pointless
alienrabitt: ...I...don't even really know what everybody saw; but I guess I could talk to them...if they even want to talk to me after whatever happened... Collin: I can try to vouch for you, or at least get your foot in the door. It's not like they can just be mad and avoid you forever either... alienrabitt: Azreldeh's probably right, at the least, I should let the dust settle a little before I make rounds saying sorry. I'll talk to everyone else tomorrow; right now, I'm saying sorry to you. Collin: Apology accepted. I haven't always been the best person, so it's not like it's your fault for having doubts about me anyway. I just... hope I'm better than that now, and better to you. alienrabitt: Well, I can't speak for the Cobalts, but I really do think you're good for me. I wouldn't still be here if I thought you were bad. Collin: Heh, thank God for that, at least. I don't really know what I'd do without you. alienrabitt: Something a lot easier than all this, I guess... Collin: Eh, I think it's worth it.
He moves closer to Jay and pulls him into a tight hug. Hugging Collin back, Jay buries his face into his shoulder. "...Thanks for sticking around..." Collin puts one hand on the back of Jay's head, tussling his hair slightly. "Always will, love." {The next day...}
Jay has already begun going around the IT and saying sorry. Though Firefly and Karumet didn't see much of a problem with things; Maya and Hod had quite a bit to say in return. Nydins and Rio seemed more confused about things, but ultimately had no problems. Collin: Well, everything is going better than I thought it would, frankly. Silver linings, I guess? alienrabitt: Y-yeah, somehow. I...guess I should go talk to the pantheon next. They seemed pretty upset; I probably shouldn't keep them waiting any longer... Collin: Yeah... Them and Demo are probably gonna be the hardest talks if I had to guess. I'm still with you, though. With a long sigh and a nod, Jay heads off for the pantheon's room, gingerly knocking on the door. A small shuffling can be heard from the other side as someone approaches from inside. After a short moment of them checking through the peephole, the door unlocks with a soft click and then swings open. Sanglied stands to face the pair, although their eyes lack their usual bright expression and their body language is significantly more lethargic than normal. Their mouth twitches for a moment as they start to say something, but then seem to decide against it and simply stare back at Jay. alienrabitt: I'm...here to talk. And say sorry...if you'll let me. Another silent moment passes. Sanglied starts to shut the door but suddenly stops. They glance down at their arm, then up toward the ceiling, and finally rolling them in resignation. Sanglied pushes the door back open and floats further back toward the central fountain, coming to a rest on its edge. They gesture vaguely around the room, letting them pick where to be. Jay enters the room a bit cautiously, staring at the floor most of the time he speaks. "...I guess I should start by saying that the Cobalt wasn't picking anyone specifically; any of you could've shown up, it just...picked you two. That being said, whatever it said or did, that's..."
He pauses, looking up from the floor, but still not making proper eye contact.
"...It's not what I think about you guys. I didn't hear what happened firsthand, but whatever happened back there...I won't lie, it was messed up. On some level, it's true; I don't know what to think about you guys; I think you do think that I find it hard to trust you after everything Collin went through indirectly because of you, but I can't blame you for what happened back then..."
Only now does Jay properly look Sanglied in the eyes.
"...I know you didn't choose for any of that to happen. You weren't the ones who picked him; you had no part in what that lunatic pulled; and ever since you got here, you've done everything you could to make things right, and I appreciate that. You kept Collin safe; he was probably better off with you than...I'm...getting off track. I don't think you guys are bad. I don't hate you. I was worried beyond belief what you guys being a part of Collin meant for him, but now that that's changed, I haven't really had the time to think about you guys in a different light, so the Cobalt wound up running off outdated opinions to begin with...but I wouldn't really call that an excuse..."
it also didn’t help that Collin “dropped dead” literally 24-48 hours after going through a process that the pantheon invited, so I mean...in a flash moment of “oh fuck, Collin’s dead” he wouldn’t have time to go through every stage of grief at once, and all he could probably register in the moment is...”who’s responsible? oh yeah, that’s why this is happening” even if it wasn’t actually A Big Deal but y’know
Sanglied takes a deep breath once Jay finishes speaking. They scratch at their forehead for a second and then look back up at Jay, finally breaking their silence.
Sanglied: Alright, well... I guess Fereldir wins this one. He was pretty much right about what was going through your head through all of that insanity, and what wasn't going through it. Truth be told, I'm glad you waited a while to do this; up until this morning, I was pretty much ready to punch you on sight, but Ezzy finally told me off enough to snap out of that urge, at least.
Frankly I had a lot more to say to you, but you sorta beat me to the punch on a lot of it, so... good job on that one. I just... I really need to get this off my chest, because I need to make sure that you absolutely understand this one thing about me, and about all of us as a whole.
I'm a god of life, Jay. To think of mortals as dispensable, worthless, resources... it runs counter to the entire foundation of my essence. The mortal realm was our greatest source of joy, the reason we did the things we did, and gifted our powers to the world. I revel in the living world, cherish every physical sensation it has to offer. I don't dress like this to show off my tattoos or my muscles; I do this because feeling the wind on my skin and the ground beneath my feet feels better than any fabric our powers could manifest.
Seeing those...things act like that, speaking those words with my mouth...
Their eyes begin to water, and they grip tightly against the edge of the fountain's base. "It was like a slap in the face. It reminded me of the way Israphel used to talk, back when he still could... I couldn't stand feeling like I was being compared to that monster. I'm not just some pig with a disdain for everything around me!"
They try to start another statement, but the word catches in their throat as tears slowly roll down their cheeks, forcing them to take a moment to recover. alienrabitt: I'm...I'm so sorry; I had no idea...I...if I'd had any say in what those things were like, I never would've made them do something like that, especially if I'd understood...I...I really can't apologize enough. My Cobalts crossed a line...I wish you hadn't had to see any of that...you didn't deserve that...
if/when Jay manifests the Cobalts again to actually defend himself, everyone’s gonna be so much more badass and cooler than just pumped full of negative feelings due to Jay’s immediate grief
another thing that plays into the Cobalts is, unsurprisingly, their trigger. they manifested because Jay was full of grief at Collin’s “death;” so all of them were reflecting exclusively negative perceptions. in a different environment, under different circumstances? these guys are multi-faceted
think of it as what Blue Diamond does to gems around her, but with all emotions, not just sadness
Sanglied sucks in a deep breath and wipes at their face for a moment, forcibly trying to pull themself together. "I just... I need to make sure that you understand that we're not so disconnected that we see your lives as playthings. It's true, we were unimaginably thankful to get the hell out of that damned emptiness. However, being inside a mortal's body brought some... unexpected challenges. Sharing a body and mind with someone forces you to either get along or fall apart very quickly, as it turns out. Seeing the world through his eyes, his past, his feelings... It taught us so much about how you all experience life, and each other.
Collin loves you so much, Jay. He loves you and everyone so much it almost hurts, and I- no, we would never do anything to ruin something like that. You, him, and all the rest of you gave us a second chance at life, and we will always be grateful for that." alienrabitt: ...I think I understand now. It doesn't really help that most of the other gods I've known about have been...questionable at best. I guess I was always just a little skeptical about your intentions; but I never meant to hurt you with that...it was pretty obvious you were doing Collin all kinds of good that we just flat out weren't capable of...
Jay’s actually jealous of the pantheon’s relationship with Collin on some degree, but we weren’t in any situation to see that get dragged into the light
Sanglied: Maybe so, but I think you've done far more for him than you realize, things that even we could never have done for him. alienrabitt: ...Maybe. I guess it's kinda hard to tell if I've made any progress or not. It's not easy for me to look back anymore... Sanglied: You're doing fine. If you're ever in doubt, just ask that guy next to you. He's pretty good at being honest.
Collin: It feels like you're trying to embarass me now... alienrabitt: ...So are you guys gonna be alright now? Despite how it looked, I really do consider you guys one of us; I'd hate to ruin that over something sour like that... Sanglied: ... We'll live. I was worried you just thought we were manipulative bastards who didn't care about anything but ourselves, so at least that's off my che-
Their stomach suddenly gives a loud, upset grumble, forcing Sanglied to put their arms over their stomach and lean forward abruptly. "-Ooooh that one hurt." alienrabitt: Have you guys...not eaten yet? Sanglied glances to the side uncomfortably and grumbles something under their breath, but Jay barely catches the words "lost appetite". alienrabitt: W-well, uhh...you guys should go eat finally. I've got a lot more sorries to catch up on anyway... Sanglied: We'll go in a little bit. Jay, I... Thanks for stopping by. I'm glad I didn't punch you, otherwise this might not have happened. alienrabitt: I'm glad you didn't punch me too...but uhh, jokes aside, of course I was gonna say something! I'm...not exactly the best, but I don't like hurting the people I care about. Sanglied: Just don't pull people inside your head or whatever that was and you'll probably be fine.
it’s a physical projection of Jay’s headspace. it’s not like the nexus; it’s something internal gaining a physical manifestation, whereas the nexus is you physically manifesting in an internal “dimension.” you were literally in the opposite of the nexus, quit calling it “being in Jay’s head”
alienrabitt: I...didn't exactly do that on purpose, but I'll try not to next time. Sanglied: I'll hold you to it. You guys keep doing what you're doing. I need a little bit after getting all sappy like that... With that, Jay leaves the room to head off for Demo's room instead. Demo remains alone among the mess of Jay's lost things; though a good portion of them seem to have been broken and are currently still repairing themselves. Collin steps up slightly behind him and peeks over Jay's shoulder. "Uh... knock knock?" Demo: What the hell do you two want?
alienrabitt: Look, about yesterday...
Demo: ...If you're gonna talk about that shit, shut the damn door. Collin: ... Should I be in or out for this? Demo: You can be wherever the hell you want. My problem's with Jay, not you. Collin: Well, if you don't mind...
He closes the door, leaving the three of them alone in Demo's room together. Demo: ...Look, it's one thing to air out somebody's secrets and feelings; but the way that I feel about Daedalus is...really complicated; and you pulling that bombshell out of your ass in front of everybody only made everything way worse than it already was. I wanna burn that damn door shut behind you, you know. I don't wanna come out of this room for the rest of my stupid fucking life; how the hell am I supposed to face anybody when everybody out there thinks I'm actually like that?! ...And secondly, do you...do you seriously think I'd be as stupid as you are? Do you seriously fucking think I'd kill myself just because some guy that I care about didn't think about me like that? Get fucking real...
alienrabitt: That's...I didn't really get to choose who was gonna be where or doing what...and I didn't mean to upset you, I just...I mean, it's...I know he's...special to you...however you see him, he's still somebody you really care about, and--
Demo: And, and, and, and?! There is no and; how I feel about him is between me, and maybe him, and that's. Fucking. It. So keep your mouth shut; keep your head the other way; and just...don't fucking do that again. You're lucky I'm not kicking your ass over this... Collin: Demo, he wasn't trying to do all of that. Taking it out on Jay isn't going to fix anything at this point. It sounds like whatever this is about is between you and Daedalus now. Demo's face turns awfully red. "...Even if that's the case, there's no way in hell I'd get Cinderella off his arm long enough to say anything..." Collin: I'm pretty sure they're not always around each other like that. Hell, I'm pretty sure he's just working on whatever in his room most of the time. He's been poking his head out a bit more recently, but it's not that hard to flag him down... Demo: ...I'll...think about it. Anyway, you...probably still have to talk to Nemo and the sun, right? Get lost...
alienrabitt: Ugh, why are you like this?
Demo: I don't know, Jay; why don't you ask yourself that a little more sometime? You were there, after all; you know who the hell I am.
Bitterly quiet, Jay leaves Demo's room to speak with XL and Silky.
all this time and you’re still so salty about Demonstrator
Collin follows Jay out, scratching the back of his head. "Well, that... happened." alienrabitt: ...I don't know why I expected anything else from her, honestly... Collin: I'm sorry. Maybe this will go better? alienrabitt: ...Here's hoping.
Entering XL's room, the pair finds Hod right back with XL as usual, still trying to repair Hod's body. Glancing up towards the door, XL shakes her head as she gets back to work.
XL: ...I wasn't saying I wanted to leave you guys. That conversation was taken out of context and twisted to hell. I was talking to Silky about how I was getting worried that maybe I wasn't gonna be enough to help you guys with all the weird, magical stuff you keep getting wrapped up in lately. Curses, gods, all that crap; I can't help you with that. I'm not even technically a certified doctor, but I could still wind up with a death on my hands at this rate just because something I don't know how to handle pops up. That's what I'm worried about. I'm worried that my fuse of usefulness is burning out fast. I wouldn't run away just because I feel inadequate... Collin: I'm pretty sure having someone with any kind of serious medical knowledge is the only thing that's kept us alive so far, honestly. I mean yeah, all this magical stuff is a little off the rails, but any physical effects afterwards are still gonna be fair game for you. Besides, those communicator things you've been working on, plus all the stuff you've done for Rio and Hod proves that you're not limited to just slapping bandages on people or whatever. Hell, even just having you around for stuff like that DND thing makes this place feel a lot more like a home. XL: ...Those communicators are almost done, by the way. You should take em the next time you head out...but, uhh...that's kind of a huge relief to hear. I just didn't want you guys to think that I was gonna leave you or something; I know how much you need me... Collin: I'm glad to hear it. Although, I'm still a little confused about something. How did you hear all of that when it actually happened, Jay? alienrabitt: I was up really late, and I heard her talking to Silky while I was heading to the game room. It sounded pretty serious, so I stuck around...
XL: I just wish you would've talked to me first... Collin: I don't really think he wanted to just dump that out in front of everyone. That whole thing was sort of a mess for all involved...
XL: ...It looked like it. I'm sure Maya's gonna be the worst of all...
alienrabitt: I...don't even wanna think about talking to her, honestly...
XL: You can't just ignore her...
alienrabitt: ...I know, just...I'm still a little scared...
XL: All the more reason to get it over with. Pretty obvious you think she's gonna pull a gun on you again; so I don't think she'd try it twice... Collin: And I'll still go with you, so you won't be alone either. alienrabitt: ...Alright...I...guess I'll go do that...
XL: Good luck... Collin: Lead the way, then. I'm right behind you. Collin and Jay head off to find Maya, who is currently holed up in the practice room, seated beside several of her weapons, most of which she has already dismantled.
alienrabitt: Wh...what are you doing?
Maya: ...You don't trust me because I pulled a gun on you; so I'm making sure I don't have any guns left to pull. You don't want me to seem dangerous, or like a threat, so I'm taking it all away. I'll break all my weapons; then I'll dismantle my suits; and tomorrow, I'll be whoever you need me to be...that's how it is...that's what you need, so I'll do it...
*Retsuko voice* on the count of 10, I’ll be a decent human being
Collin: Maya, you really don't need to do that. It's not like that at all. Maya: ...You thought I was gonna kill somebody. That wouldn't have happened otherwise, right? You think I'm dangerous; you can't trust me; not with your lives, not with my things, not with anything at all...so I'll fix everything I can to set things right...
alienrabitt: That's...that's not...the Cobalts are...
Maya: Spare me the excuses. I can tell that you're still nervous. Sorry for making you lose sleep. Collin: I'm telling you, it's not what you think. You don't need to tear yourself apart like this; that's the exact opposite of what being on the IT is for. Maya: ...Back when I was first promoted to the position that ultimately landed me in the box you found me in; I made my first friend in Lobotomy...
She seems to ignore Collin as she moves on to dismantling her black and white pistols.
"...Margret wasn't much younger than I was when she signed up; she was scared, new, and she needed help, just like the rest of us. So I got close; I let her know it'd be alright; the team had her back; that she could trust me. And so she put all her trust in me. But her fear never went away; her doubt never left her...eventually, an abnormality took advantage of her lack of confidence. She killed three more employees before I had to personally gun her down in the hallway, unless I wanted her to chop me up too."
Maya pauses for a moment, removing the ammunition from the white gun.
"...After that, I promised myself that I wouldn't make the same mistake. I wasn't gonna let anyone else get hurt because I over or underestimated something I thought was small, or simple, or trivial; I was gonna be anything everybody needed me to be, and that's it."
this was actually something that happened when I was getting the equips from the red shoes 9-9
Collin: Maya, that's... I... Maya: ...Don't tell me this isn't on me. I hurt somebody; now I have to make up for it; so I am.
alienrabitt: ...There's a difference between fixing your mistakes and throwing away everything that you are.
Maya: Is there? You did it; looks like it's going pretty well for you. Collin: Stop that. The only thing you can do that's going to hurt us is this. You're arguably the most experienced person out of all of us when it comes to fighting and surviving. If you do this, it's only setting yourself back, pushing us away, and putting people in danger. Maya: ...I just...always tried to convince myself that Lobotomy couldn't take away everything from me. They took me from my family; they hid me from the sun; they made me cold, taught me how to fight, taught me that the lives of the people around me were expendable, and that I was no exception...but I never wanted to listen.
She sets the white pistol down.
"...In the end, I didn't want to admit that Lobotomy had changed me at all. Because if I ever did, I would be admitting that Lobotomy had taken away the last thing I thought that I still had..."
the white pistol is symbolic tbh. she uses Funeral of the Dead Butterflies’ guns; Solemn Vow. they’re really symbolic tbh
Maya’s a character I’ve been setting up veeeery carefully
Collin: You're still you, Maya. You're not the same as you were before all of that, it's true, but you're still Maya. Going through Aperture changed me too, so did losing a leg, and being on the IT for so long. I'm not the same person I was years ago, and I'm okay with that. You have to decide what you're going to do about those changes, and whether they're taking you down the right path or not. Maya: ...I think I just...need time to think about all this. I needed to do maintenance on all this anyway; might as well do it now...but...thank you... Collin: Don't worry about it. And... don't be afraid to flag someone down if you need to talk about... well, anything. You've probably drawn the shortest straw out of all of us on the IT, and that's saying something. You've been through a lot, and you deserve that much at the very least... Maya: ...Yeah. Thanks...I'll see you guys later... Collin nods and steps back out into the hallway.
After quite some time of sitting in her room mulling over her options, Demo moves from her room to the hallway, standing in front of Daedalus' room as she continues to internally debate speaking with him. Anxious, yet stubbornly refusing to allow it to fully show, she knocks upon his door and waits. A muffled "Hold on" responds from the other side of the door. A few moments later, Daedalus pulls the door open, rubbing the corner of his eye with one hand and then letting his sunglasses sit back down over his eyes. He looks at Demo for a second before he speaks again. "Oh, hey. Wasn't expecting you." Demo: ...Yeah, I get that a lot. Uhh...look, about those...Cobalt things... Daedalus: Hang on, you might as well come inside first.
He lets her walk inside and closes the door behind her, then walks over to his couch and hops over the back to land on the cushion. "Don't get me wrong, I'm not unhappy to see you or something. I honestly just thought you were gonna need more time before you tried to talk about all of... that." Demo: ...No way. If I keep putting this off, I'll never talk about it at all. Whatever the hell was back there...wasn't the truth. Not...all of it, anyway. I'm definitely not suicidal or anything over you and Clair...I'm not even sure what's going on between the two of you; I just know she's been coming to your room a whole lot...which is whatever; I mean, you can have friends or...whatever...but...I guess there was a little truth to all that. Regardless of what you two are actually doing together, I can't help but feel a little...jealous. ...But I didn't want to say anything. It's a little hard for me to figure out how to talk to you; not because I don't know how to approach you or anything, but because I just...I'm not scared; I just...I don't want to make things weird, I guess...I kinda figure you don't want a whole lot to do with me since I was...sort of why you were...well...y'know...
A: she doesn’t wanna come off as abusive
B: she doesn’t want him to feel like he owes her anything
C: she doesn’t want a relationship that revolves around ^
Daedalus: I uh... Man, where do I start...?
He takes a deep breath for a moment as he stares at the coffee table, trying to figure something out. "... Alright. For starters, I've never really blamed you for the way that I was. I mean, I guess you are the reason I even exist, but it's not like you tailor-made me to be a sociopathic nut case. I've been trying to think of it as like... being born with a disease or something, and I only just really got over it, which was also thanks to you. So honestly even if you did do that on purpose, you also fixed it in a way." Demo: I definitely didn't do it on purpose. Something about Jay and Collin really threw off the functionality I was tied to, and so that caused you and me to be...well, not right. Not like being proper Tricksters would've been much better; but being completely different is better than just being a different state of mind...th-that being said, uhh...I don't know why we were what we were, or what went wrong, or even how I can do half of what I can. I don't think I'll even be able to get any of those answers now; but...I don't really care anymore. Regardless of all that, I'm something else now; arguably something better; and that's all that really matters. ...But...I'm glad you don't blame me. Part of the reason I never wound up talking to you was because I was always scared you'd hate me... Daedalus: Demo, there's only one person that I genuinely hate, and she was deep fried by my twin ages ago. You don't have anything to worry about in that sense. I'm my own person now, and you're the one that did that for me. Frankly I'm probably way in your debt at this point. Demo: ...I...I don't know; I felt like this would be some weird coin toss between you not liking me or you feeling obligated to care about me or something, and I didn't want either of those things. If you wound up caring about me, I'd want it to be because that's what you wanted; not because you felt like you owed it to me or something... Daedalus: W-Woah, hang on, I think you're misunderstanding me. Look, it's... still hard for me to process this emotional stuff sometimes, especially right after I came back. I wasn't really sure what to think about anything, including you. Now that I'm starting to understand myself again, I'm realizing that there's a lot going on around me emotionally. I mean it was obvious that you cared about me since you literally brought me back to life, but now I think I'm starting to realize that it wasn't just because I was another trickster, huh? Demo: ...It's...weird. Being around everybody's something; I know they trust me to some degree, but despite being surrounded by literal aliens and people from different dimensions, I still feel like I'm the most foreign thing here. You're the only person who's ever been like me. Watching you die made me sick; regardless of how I was back then, even now, that feeling hasn't changed. Maybe it has something to do with how Jay and Collin are tied to each other, I don't know, but I just...I've never been able to shake the feeling that you're important. Not having you around felt miserable; I can't stand everyone else; it's...it's hard to explain it. I get that they're friendly; I get that I can get closer to them; but it feels wrong; not like they're a threat, but like I'm not supposed to fit in with them. And once I came back; once I got out of the goggles; once Xentrilis was gone; I just...I couldn't take it anymore. I couldn't stand being alone with all these people; I couldn't stand feeling rejected by Jay; and I couldn't stand the thought of you just...just being thrown away like garbage; I got the chance to turn everything around, but you were still down there; you were still alone, still dead; you didn't deserve that; all these people say they're fighting for what's right, but not a damn one of them was thinking about how you were suffering just as much as I was; and when I thought about it like that, I just...flew off the handle; I couldn't take it; if I was the only one who saw it as right, I had to be the one to make it the right thing to do; so I did it. I didn't wait for it; I didn't give them any chances, didn't talk about it; I just...did what I felt had to happen.
this like, low to midkey feels a little like act 2 Yuri to some degree but also like...idk, it’s making me upset to read all this. it’s really emotional and sincere and I just really don’t wanna code Demo as some Big Creepo that’s Broken and has Literally Hardcoded Issues
bringing Daedalus back from the dead was like...she felt like a shaken up soda can; and every incident, every positive relationship around her; that only shook the soda even more. once Daedalus was back, the soda settled down. she quit feeling the pressure of not fitting in or being different because she didn’t have this constant, looming guilt of the death of the only other person that existed like she did
Daedalus is quiet for a few seconds before he answers again. "... Well, in their defense, I didn't exactly engender a whole lot of good will in my favor before I died. Plus I was... pretty far gone at that point. I don't really want to think about what trying to live like that would've been like. Still, I'm... I'm glad that someone cared about me like that, even when I was at my worst. I'm sorry you had to struggle with all of that for so long.
But... if I can be a little bold here, some of what you said... concerns me. At least, it does if that's still the case. Not liking other people, feeling like an outsider, all of those feelings are part of what lead me to my downfall in the first place. I really do not want to see you suffer through the same thing I did." Demo: ...No, it's different now. It's still hard for me to get close to anyone here after everything I've done, but I've learned to accept that they're always gonna feel a little weird. I mean, I am different from them, we're all different; that's...kind of our thing. Daedalus relaxes, letting the tension out of his shoulders with a sigh. "Okay, good. You had me worried for a second there. So... getting to the heart of all this, then. What exactly do you think about me? I know what that Cobalt was thinking, but I don't care about them." Demo glances away towards the floor as her face begins to turn red. "...Well, like I said, it...wasn't totally wrong. I think you're pretty special...I mean...mm, I don't really know how to talk about this kind of thing..." Daedalus: I'm... probably not much better than you. I mean, I've only been able to feel actual emotions for a few months now. Still, I... think I get where you're going with this. But what about Nydins? I thought you two were a thing or something? Demo: ...No, we broke it off. Whatever I felt for her was leftover from whatever I was; by the time it wore off I felt like I was just with her out of obligation, and she didn't deserve that, so I had to stop. She needs someone who actually cares about her, not somebody who just feels the way they do because it's how they were made to feel... Daedalus: Shit, sorry to hear that. At least it was for the best, by the sound of it. So you... uh...
He turns slightly red himself and scratches the back of his head. "I really don't know how to handle this."
Demo: Y-you don't have to say anything; I just...figured I should clear all that stuff up... Daedalus: I get that, I just... I don't know what I'm trying to say. How about you ask me something about all this? It's pretty obvious this has been on your mind for a while. Demo: ...I guess the real question is what even are you and Clair doing? Daedalus: ... Talking? It's not like we're up to anything, I... I just like being around her. At first I just wanted to talk with her because I thought that maybe if I could help her move past how she was back in that OZ place, it would... it would maybe help me be a better person too. It didn't really take long for it to turn into a more casual thing; I didn't even realize that it had happened, honestly. She's just... nice to be around. She makes me feel more like an actual person. Demo: ...I'm glad you're comfortable finally. It's nice to hear you're making friends and stuff. Daedalus: Well, she's pretty much the only one right now, except for maybe you. We hadn't really talked or anything since I came back, although now that I know why... I don't know, I just have some weird feelings about both of you that I don't know how to explain. Demo: Well, maybe you'll be able to figure it out eventually? You're still getting used to everything, after all... Daedalus: Yeah, hopefully so. I really would like to talk to you more, y'know. Like you said, we're two of a kind, and I've... kinda missed that. Demo: ...Alright, then I'll just start showing up here too. I-if you don't mind... Daedalus: Of course. Sheesh, you guys act like I put barbed wire outside of my door or something... Demo: W-well, I think people are still trying to figure you out is all...! Daedalus: I know, I know, I need to get out more and all that stuff. I think the same sort of thing came up with Clair recently too. Demo: I guess we both do, really...she's probably right. Daedalus: Yeah, it's just sort of weird for me. It's hard to feel welcome given the past... Demo: ...Yeah, I understand that. Won't change much if we don't try to do somethin' though. Daedalus: True. Just hard to find a starting point is all. Demo: That really is the hard part...but I'm sure we'll figure something out. Daedalus: Hopefully. So... are we okay? Is there anything you wanted to say? Demo: Uhh...no; yeah, I...think we're good. Sorry if I made you worried or anything... Daedalus: I mean, it wasn't your fault. Those Cobalt things paint a /pretty shitty/ picture of everyone. I'm just glad you don't hate me or... want to do something drastic. Demo: Oh, I definitely don't hate you. It's uhh...very much the opposite of that...b-but, uhh, no, I wouldn't do anything drastic or weird; I've caused enough trouble... Daedalus: You're fine, trust me. I'm just sorry that I can't... well, uh... reciprocate right now. I feel like I need more time to figure myself out before I start trying to... branch out? Demo: It's fine, really! I totally understand...sorry if I made this weird... Daedalus: I think the only thing weird right now is me. I probably need a nap or something, I haven't slept well recently and the IT turning into some mindscape didn't really help me much either. Demo: Well, hopefully you'll be able to sleep alright soon...I'll leave you to your nap, then.
With that, Demo leaves Daedalus alone. Daedalus takes off his sunglasses and rubs his eyes again. "Yeah, hopefully everything else will too..."
next up is...the other big thing I was looking forward to having edited and Out There!

Denied a Test Drive, He Bought This 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A Anyway—40 Years Ago!
This FE5 Bright Red 1970 Challenger T/A was originally sold through Grand Spaulding Dodge in Chicago, home of Mr. Norm Kraus. Oddly, the Challenger T/A was equipped (or cursed, depending on how you look at it) with a white vinyl top.
The Challenger’s original but anonymous owner was from Glenview, Illinois. In 1974, he sold it to a local, young, drag racer/poseur/wannabe. That owner ripped off the hood and installed some type of dual-quad tunnel-ram intake, headers, and stupid wheels. A young Scott Swaydrak, also a Glenview resident at the time, remembers seeing the car coughing its way down the local side streets.
Not long after, for some reason lost in the mists of time, the second owner no longer wanted the T/A. The original owner bought the car back from the youngster, probably in 1975. The original owner became the third owner, likely more than a bit perturbed at what had happened to his Challenger.
The original/third owner heroically returned the car to Ma Mopar factory condition. The stock exhaust manifolds, stock Six Pack induction, and stock T/A hood were all reinstalled. Scott believes the second owner might have butchered the original hood, so it’s possible that the hood on the car now was a replacement item.
In 1977, Scott, now 18 and the owner of a 1969 Charger R/T, spotted the Bright Red T/A for sale at the Glenview gas station. He went to look at it, and naturally asked the first/third owner if he could drive the Challenger. The seller refused. Can you blame him? Second owner Speed Racer had butchered his beloved car.
Bitterness was apparent, but Scott exercised diplomacy and climbed in the passenger seat. In a somewhat grandfatherly fashion, Scott was chauffeured around the Glenview neighborhoods in the soon-to-be-his Challenger. He never drove it that day. Awkward. Some guys buy their cars sight unseen; Scott bought his test-drive unpermitted. Regardless, days later cash changed hands, Scott became the fourth owner of the T/A, and finally took it for a test drive.
Muscle car happiness was found mixing up fun excursions with the Charger and the T/A. Scott attended local cruise nights at Flukie’s in Niles, as well as bigger car shows in Illinois. But by 1982, the Challenger was beginning to show signs of wear. Rust had arrived at the bottoms of the quarters. The bubbling under that repulsive white vinyl roof needed attention. In response, Scott enlisted a family friend to do a repaint, not a restoration, which included fixing the rust, removing the vinyl top, and properly painting the roof. Rust repair was accomplished early-1980s style, with hand-fabricated patch panels as needed.
The end product turned out nice enough to get the attention of Monogram Models’ Roger Harney, who persuaded Scott to allow the use of his car to collect pictures and measurements as reference material for the creation of a Monogram 1:24-scale kit of a 1970 Challenger T/A (see sidebar).
Scott drove the car until 1986, and then parked it in heated storage. Career and family responsibilities dominated his life until 2002. Finally, after a 16-year hibernation, the T/A was awakened to receive a complete rotisserie restoration.
Mopar restoration expert Klaus Zimmer of Zim’s Kustoms in Lakemoor, Illinois, was called on to restore the T/A to showroom condition. Restoration work included the installation of N.O.S. quarter-panels, floor repair, and trunk work. A single-stage acrylic enamel was used to faithfully restore the 1970 assembly-line-fresh appearance. Zim’s also installed the glass, panels, and suspension.
Scott elected to keep the white vinyl roof off the car. “To me, that white vinyl roof with the sinister black hood and graphics and the black interior always looked like a mistake, so I left it off.” Good call.
The engine was machined by a local NAPA machine shop. Scott assembled the 340 Six Pack to factory original specs. The transmission was rebuilt by Scott’s Mopar buddy, Dennis Bernardy. About two years were spent assembling the car. The restoration was completed in 2009. Since then, the T/A has attended occasional cruise nights and car shows. “I hate to say it, but anything over 10 miles means I take the car in my trailer so it doesn’t get damaged,” Scott admits.
At one show, the wife of the original/third owner came up to Scott and said, “You have to sell this car back to my husband. It’s all he talks about.”
Scott politely said, “It’s not for sale, it’s a keeper.”
Some of us might have added, “And no test drive, either.”
At a Glance
1970 Challenger T/A Owned by: Scott and Patricia Swaydrak, Hawthorn Woods, IL Restored by: Klaus Zimmerman, Zim’s Kustoms, Lakemoor, IL Engine: 340ci/290hp Six Pack V-8 Transmission: A833 4-speed manual Rearend: 8 3/4 with 3.55 gears and Sure Grip Interior: Black Highline bucket seat Wheels: 15×7 Rallye Tires: E60-15 front, G60-15 rear Goodyear Polyglas GT
Dodge created the Challenger T/A by equipping a JH23 Challenger Highline with the A53 Trans-Am package. In other words, the car was not a separate trim level like the R/T or SE, but rather an option package on the Highline model. Exterior adornments in the A53 package included the exclusive side stripe with T/A callout that ran along the beltline, ending abruptly at the leading edge of the C-pillar.
Not long after purchasing the Challenger T/A in 1977, Scott Swaydrak was photographed standing by his pride and joy. As is plain in the photo, the car was originally equipped with a white vinyl top. From day one, Scott was not a fan. He had it removed when the car was repainted in 1982.
The A53 package included the 290hp 340 Six Pack engine, which was built with a distinct block and cylinder heads. The “J” T/A 340 block has two-bolt main caps, but it says “TA” on the block, and it has extra material at the webbing that supports the crankshaft. The T/A cylinder heads featured adjustable rocker arms and relocated pushrod holes to accommodate porting the runners.
The Six Pack induction system was made up of these three Holley 2300 two-barrel carburetors mounted atop an Edelbrock manifold. Exceptional attention to detail is evident on the trio of carburetors and accompanying vacuum pod diaphragms, fuel lines, vacuum lines, and choke thermostat and pull-off.
The left fender tag lists the options found on the Challenger, while the second fender tag reads “TRANS AM,” which indicated the Trans-Am package.
Because the Challenger T/A was based off the basic Challenger Highline model, the Rallye Dash was optional and not found on Scott’s car. Interior options include the center console and solid state AM radio.
The front spoilers were optional. The T/A front scoop, hoodpins, and blacked-out hood give the car a racy, all-business attitude. In order to accommodate the 15-inch front tires, the Hemi and T/A cars came equipped with fenders with “rolled” inner wheelwell lips.
Model Challenger for a Challenger Model One day in 1982, when Scott Swaydrak was driving his 1970 Challenger T/A down the streets of his Glenview, Illinois, hometown, he noticed that he was being followed. He pulled into a gas station, and the suspicious vehicle pulled in right behind him. When Scott stopped, the other driver popped out of his vehicle and said, “We’ve been looking for this car.”
Scott replied, “Who is ‘we’?” He recalls thinking, Is the car stolen? Is this the FBI?
Neither. It turned out to be Roger Harney from Monogram Models, which was based in nearby Morton Grove. Roger was both friendly and persuasive as he talked to Scott about having his E-Body serve as a reference Challenger for the creation of a 1:24-scale 1970 Challenger T/A plastic model kit.
Flattered, Scott agreed to bring his car to Monogram Models to supply the staff with needed pictures, measurements, and details of the car. The two-day process resulted in an accurate kit for enthusiasts. As a display of gratitude for the use of his Challenger, Monogram supplied Scott with a case of 12 model kits and a preproduction version built in just red plastic. Not many muscle cars can lay claim to having a modeling career.
Photographs and measurements were taken by the staff of Monogram Models in order to create a scale model of Scott Swaydrak’s Challenger T/A. It took the better part of two days to collect all necessary information.
Bob Johnson, an executive at Monogram Models, is seen shooting pictures of the Challenger T/A while a designer makes notes for production purposes.
The Monogram model turned out great. Scott’s actual license plate, SAS 392, was included on the cover.

The Pedestal Fan Manufacturers in India comprises electric engines, sharp edges, metal arms, flywheels, rotor, stand, contains the ball and the attachment framework, j-snare, a few fans can be mounted utilizing roof connectors, switches, steady wire, A beautiful encasement for the engine (known as the "engine lodging") and so on.
Unless the development of mechanical fans hand-held fan was utilized all through the world in antiquated circumstances for cooling, the fan has a handle or stay with an inflexible leaf or mount with collapsing leaf made out of hearty components held together by bolts or stick was waved in forward and backward movement to make the frosty breeze. A Wall Fan Manufacturers in India utilizes the edges at the correct point and moves air through a room they don't specifically change the air temperature like the ventilation systems, the moving rate of the breeze from the cooling fan dissipates and sweats on the human skin which gives our body the normal cooling impacts.

Garden And Patio Paving Features And Slabs Manufacturers
A reduced construction schedule will move you into your more energy efficient building even quicker. Hi Gina-Our form was pretty much destroyed when we disassembled it, but if we knew we wanted to re-use it, we're able to take it aside carefully and re-assemble it. While that one, exhibiting pinocchean features, was found in the living room....and the 3rd appeared strangely familiar if you ask me! I can see there being truly a major recruitment issue in the medium term. In case the working time directive comes into full force, there will be major issues in the veterinary provision in this country. More vets will be had a need to do the same amount of work (where are we heading to find them?) or all vets will have to become partners. We moved the form set up and began verifying to make certain it was rectangular. The easiest way to do this is to measure the distance on the diagonal (from one corner to the contrary). It takes some back-and-forth to make certain they gauge the same but this is vital. Next, we hammered a couple of wooden stakes externally edge of each side of the proper execution. Using the level as helpful information, we hammered down or pulled through to the stakes to achieve level. This also can take some backwards and forwards so go slow. Once everything is square and level, add a slight slope to permit water to perform downhill. I absolutely love diy projects, however, I quite prefer when I can make something new out of something old (such as this Reusing Old Furniture ). But making own open fire bowl appears to be insert of fun too! Use an orbital sander to steady the piece. You might expose a few more bug holes but that is fine. Run the sander on the factors and edges as well. The most notable corners will be really rough. You'll complete the abrasive area with portland concrete following this process. The medial side beams curved a great deal under the repeated welding that they had to be delicately bent back to a straight shape, compressing them with an hydraulic jack under a beam of the house, and heating these to red hot. Omega-shaped profiles were installed in vertical orientation, at 60cm distance between them. These were bolted to J-bolts inserted in the mortar of the brick wall space, and their tops were bolted to a support angle attached to the roof. Small concrete circles, such as might be used for paving rocks, can be poured into small cheap commercial forms or into cake pans. Make sure to oil the form well before pouring! You should be able to reuse these varieties several times. A handheld rotary tool with a gemstone bit can etch or credit score very small circles and designs.szamba betonowe łódzkie

What Are Wedge Anchors?
Anchors are available in a wide variety of sizes, types, and materials as per the requirement of the industrial applications. Wedge anchors are one of the most famous assortments for the most complex concrete industrial applications used in the array. The design of the fasteners allows the long thread settle down in the concrete structures firmly. A hole is drilled through the dry and old concrete structure as to insert the anchor. After placing it securely, the fastener expands for wedging itself into the fixture. The fastener is available in different coating variants like Zinc Plated, Hot Galvanized Dipped, Stainless Steel, etc. which are used in the industries as per the application requirements.
The wedge anchors are used for different applications such as Fence Post, Sign, Light Post, Shelving, Racking, Electric Pipe, Water Pipe, Fire Sprinklers, Exit Sign, Railing, Roof Flashing, TV Antenna, Windows, Hose Real, Television, Elevator, Steps, and many more. Before you go deep inside, it is important to consider the dimensional accuracy including length and thickness of the anchor. This is how you can determine its thickness. Add the thickness of the material being fastened using the fastener to the minimum embedment. Don't forget to leave a space for the nut and the washer to be used as to keep it into the fixtures.
Each anchor requires a hole drilled into the concrete structures to install properly. While installing the nut, remember not to fasten the nut extremely tight. They are available in different types of steel as well as the different plating. The coating material is selected for the different types of applications.
Wedge Anchor Installation Process:-
The fastener consists of two separate pieces that are permanently pre-assembled into the single units before installation. In order to install the fastener in a right way, you should follow these tips:-
Before you move over the installation process of the fastener, you should determine the correct length of the same as to ensure minimum embedment is met and it fits into the drilled hole seamlessly. Remember that the washer to be used with the installation must be larger.
Clear the dust and debris using the wire brush, compressed air, or vacuum to get the flawless application.
Next, place the washer and nut on the anchor; make the certain turns to tighten the same.
Insert the wedge anchor through the fixture hole and tighten it completely ensuring that the thread go below the surface.
