Meet the OCs: Horizonshine (she/they) - @clanborn

A courier of Brookclan, responsible for trekking over rough terrain to exchange news and deliveries between the clans. A friendly and persistent cat, yet impulsive and immature, with a history of “attention-seeking” behavior. Few members of her clan like them, which has left her resentful and out of place within her own home. She finds herself trapped in an apocalyptic time loop perpetuated by the Lynx, one of the clans’ gods.

Cowpaw (she/her) - @thylacid

Cowpaw is a little freak apprentice who used to be normal but one day she snuck out of camp and boom. Alien parasite. This parasite slowly formed a strong attachment to Cowpaw and now the two of them are basically like sisters (the parasite is slowly killing Cowpaw and cannot stop that so its prolonging her suffering out of a desire to keep her alive)

concept sketch for a guardians of ga’hoole Oc I’ve had floating around in my head

they were hatched on a solar eclipse, rather than a lunar eclipse. some weird effects stemmed from it - with the disc of their face becoming silvery-white, rather than the face itself like traditional nyrolian owls. Their parents had decided to follow the naming tradition anyways, figuring - they were born on an eclipse, even if it wasn’t a lunar eclipse, so they should follow the same naming convention.

Haven’t fully fleshed out this guy yet but I’ll post more later maybe

Nicobar pigeon - Caolenas nicobarica 

Near threatened

The nicobar pigeon lives on the Andaman and Nicobar islands in India, east through the Malay archipelago to the Solomons and Palau. They consume primarily seeds, fruit, buds, and occasionally insects. These birds are the closest living relative to the dodo. They are grayish-blue in color, with an iridescent body in many different colors.

They are primarily threatened by hunting and deforestation.

 Indian gray mongoose - Herpestes edwardsi

The Indian gray mongoose is a species of mongoose living in Turkey, the Arabian Peninsula, India, Bhutan, and Bangladesh. They are omnivores, opportunistic hunters who consume rats, mice, lizards, snakes, and beetles, as well as fruit, berries, and roots. Their bodies contain glycoprotein, which bonds to venom when they are bitten in order to reduce the effects. 

They have a grayish coat, with lighter hairs dispersed over a darker base color. They have a brown underbelly and darker paws.

Sketched a pair of hagsfiends. No characters in particular, but I think they’re really neat. I love giving them long necks for some reason like that I love these silly birds. I like to headcanon that they have facial discs of feathers like owls but the discs tend to be broken up and somewhat irregular

Bigeye houndshark - Lago omanensis

The bigeye houndshark lives in deep waters from the western Indian Ocean, southwestern India, and the Red Sea. It feeds on other bony fishes and bottom creatures. They are named for their eyes, which are much larger in comparison to other hound sharks. They are brownish-gray in color, with long bodies.

Hi! For the character suggestion thing - humbly suggesting Namara mcNamara, from The Coming of Hoole. There's not enough fanart of her (also, welcome to the hellsite, I recognised you from the GoG discord server)

did NOT remember what Narma mcNarma looked like, had to look up her appearance on the wiki haha. Definitely a neat character! The coming of hoole was fun, need to reread it still. Apologies for dying for a few days before posting again, I’m on the last two days of school 💥
