Ok here I go

Antonia is Ixlan’s second wife, their first wife was Amalay

Growing up Antonia favorite book was The Tale of the Lighting Warrior

Antonia is terrible at flirting with Ixlan, plus Ixlan didn’t get it

The other guards tried and get those together

It worked

For their wedding they had a small traditional Maruvian ceremony

A few years into their marriage a set of twins were found abandoned on the side of a mountain. The Bellos took temporary placement of the twins

After no bio parents were found Ixlan and Antonia adopted the twins

The older one a girl was named Amalay Eva Bello, Amalay after Ixlan’s first wife and Eva in honor of Antonia best friend Eva (who’s also Rico’s wife). The boy was named Rodrigo ‘Rigo’ Cadmael Bello. Rodrigo after Antonia’s father and Cadmael after Ixlan’s mentor and grandfather.

Amalay takes after Ixlan, she’s no nonsense and can beat you up, Rigo is the artistry one. Much more chill than his twin

Ixlan and Antonia raise their kids without gender roles. They try and not use terms like brother, sister, daughter, son etc. they use terms like sibling, twin, older one, younger one

The Bello twins are a lot to handle. Especially Amalay.

When the twins are with a babysitter (either Antonia’s mother or Reyes Del Rio) Antonia and Ixlan enjoy going on hikes, horse back riding and other outdoor activities

The Bellos are almost never inside

Agreed. I feel like I see a lot of Mateo and Carla in each other. They share many similar mannerisms and behaviors with each other. And of course, they’re both powerful Wizards. And the whole Rita incident happened before Victor and Carla became Malvagos. Now that both Mateo and Carla are Wizards, this is something they can bond over! The only ships that were canonically confirmed were Carteo, Gabeomi, Valonso and Antonia x Ixlan. Elena rejected Gabe and Mateo. I ship Gabe x Elena. Oh well.

Yep I agree!😉 yes Elena did reject both who knows why but she did🤷🏼‍♀️. I really like the Gabe x Elena ship to🙂 I have to many ships that I really like it’s so hard to choose just one lol 😂. Yeah sorry I’m such an Eoa nerd that likes to many ships lol 😅.

Do you have any Elena of Avalor/Frozen LGBTQ+ headcanons?

No, not really. I personally feel very uncomfortable headcanoning a character’s sexuality. Especially if it’s based on platonic interactions between two close friends, stereotypes surrounding people in the LGBTQ community, or because the female heroine didn’t end up with a love interest. I’ve been thinking of doing a post on this topic.

So far, the only confirmed LGBTQ characters are Ixlan and Antonia from Elena of Avalor (I’m not counting any background characters from books or episides in either franchise). I don’t have any specific headcanons for them, their relationship, or specific sexuality since neither character got a lot of screentime. I do not feel comfortable or qualified enough to say anything aside from the fact that they are indeed attracted to their own gender.

HOWEVER, I did start thinking about how Ixlan and Antonia might have met. Sometime after “The Lightning Warrior”, perhaps Elena gave Ixlan a tour of the kingdom and palace, to help her get to know her knew home, and when Elena showed her the Royal Guard, Ixlan was disappointed that none of Avalor’s “warriors“ were women. That is, until she spotted Antonia, which piqued her curiosity. So she walked over to her and started a conversation. Their relationship developed from there;)

I was inspired by @learningisfun2021 when she talked a little bit about Antonia and Ixlan interacting during lightning warrior and being ‘warriors’ and how gender effects it for them.

I could see little Tonia being told stories about the Lighting Warrior by her father. How the lighting warrior had no gender but presented more femininely with masculine tendencies (I hope that makes sense, I also hc Ixlan as non-binary). Stories of the Lighting Warrior and her father might have inspired Antonia to be a guard. And yes Antonia did her stories about her future SO

I also have a trans oc, Reyes Del Rio who is a bit younger than Isabel. Reyes looked up to Antonia and Ixlan. He wanted to be warriors like them. (He doesn’t admit this to Antonia even though she became a big sister figure to him)
