it would make sense for him to push her away after he’s aware of her predicament. rationally speaking, she is in no headspace to fall for someone new after a recent breakup. but life rarely unfolds in a sequence that’s perfectly timed and she would be damned if she lets him slip away. every fibre of her being yearns to be close to him and if this is bound to end in flames and ashes, so be it. her smile widens when he accepts her offer with enthusiasm, before taking her breath away easily in the following moment. paying no attention to the fallen decorations caused by their stumbling, she focuses solely on the taste of his lips and the warmth of his embrace. as soon as her back hits her mattress, she flips him over and straddles him. “you’ve been on my mind all day.” emboldened by his returned affection, she admits in a shameless breath as her hands wander down his chest to the waistband of his jeans. “it’s so unfair.” she whines but she means none of it. who is she to complain about fairness when his situation is anything but?
IT WOULD HAVE BEEN WISE for him not to let a one time thing go far especially if it's with someone who just got out of a relationship fresh from a breakup. Na-eun doesn't do complications, preferring to keep things simple. With his burgeoning career, the last thing he needs is a controversy, yet every inch of him gravitates towards Ivy. She'd ignited his desire and passion. No woman has ever drawn it out of him. Not even his ex-girlfriend. How he was with Jia compared to Ivy was the total contrast. His connection with his ex was calm and peaceful, whereas with Ivy it's intense and and burning. It's addictive, and he's hooked. Cupping the back of her neck, their lips connect ardently as he pours his pent-up yearning into the kiss. Her wandering hands encourages him to go further. He doesn't want to break away just yet. He only does when he realizes that they need some air. Pulling away briefly to catch his breath, he looks into her eyes, pleased to hear the invitation. That's exactly what he needs. "Oh, I will. Gladly." He presses his lips to hers once again, wrapping her arms around her waist, and lifting her up to head to the bedroom.

if she had been more responsible, she would have waited until all her feelings were properly sorted out before becoming entangled with someone else. if life had been kinder, she would have encountered each person who became significant in her life at precisely the right moment and pace. however, reality rarely unfolds so smoothly, and she has chosen to embrace the chaos of it all. a smile graces her features as he echoes her sentiments, evidently falling headfirst into her trap. a slight shiver runs down her neck when he plants a kiss on her neck, stealing her breath away in the process. their kiss deepens, and she responds with equal enthusiasm, her body flushed against his as she stumbles backward, allowing herself to lean against the wall. her hands wander down his chest, and her fingers discreetly slip under his shirt, revelling in the warmth beneath. "you should stay the night." she whispers between shallow breaths, her tone shamelessly greedy. she can't help it; the desire to keep him as close as possible overwhelms her. no one keeps her company as well as he does.
THE TIMING OF IT ALL, on her part, is quite messy. Her break up is still fresh. But then, he thinks that he might be exactly what she needs. A distraction. With the pride he had, being a placeholder is the last thing he wants to be, yet he doesn't mind it with Ivy. If she wants to use him, he'd let her. She has him wrapped around her little finger. He wouldn't outright admit that, though. "It doesn't matter," he repeats, understanding they're both on the same wavelength. They both want the same thing. Hearing her admittance evokes a smile out of her. "Then I won't." Despite all the complications, his course of action and decision is quite simple. He will just be here with her. Tugging her closer, he encircles his arms around her waist and buries his head into the crook of her delicate neck. He kisses her skin, pulling away briefly as he looks into her eyes. Being tugged closer to her, he leans to meet her lips for a kiss, mouth parting and ghosting hotly over hers. He cups the back of her neck and caresses her hair as he deepens the kiss.

“it doesn’t matter.” ivy has always been a hedonist who dives in first before thinking about the consequences, this time is no exception. while it might be terrible timing for them to grow attached after a recent breakup, she doesn’t see a point in keeping her distance when the connection feels just right. maybe he would be the one to walk away first — it would be the more sensible thing to do, to protect himself from getting hurt from the mess. but he doesn’t. his arms wrap around her and his whisper brings goosebumps over her skin. she cannot help but melt, gravitating towards him the way he does her. “i don’t want you to.” she admits. she has grown too addicted to the feeling of his lips on her skin, the effortless way he takes her breath away. she leans back slightly, only to rest her hand over his cheek. “so don’t.” she asks before she tugs him close, her lips meeting his in an awaited kiss.
NA-EUN DOESN'T GET ATTACHED EASILY. He has built firm walls that are almost impossible to break. The instance of that ever breaking is rare. The last time he'd done so, it had been with his ex-girlfriend. But compared to that, this––whatever this is––is more intense and more heated. "We'll both be damned." Despite their agreement about this being a terrible idea, neither of them is really making any attempts to pull away. Maybe it'll be easier to resist if she pulls back but she doesn't. She clearly wants it as much as he does. It's not like they're doing anything wrong. He burns under her scrutiny, swallowing thickly. It's not too late to run away yet he doesn't want to. He wants to be here with her. Meeting her gaze, he sees through that mischievous gleam in her eyes that tells him otherwise. Tugging her to him, the distance closes between them. He leans closer and whispers into her ear. "Well, I don't want to run away. And I know you don't want me to." His head lowers and arms wrap around her waist, burying his head into the crook of her neck. He presses his lips over her shoulder, kissing her skin teasingly.

she never intended to become as attached as she is. they were meant to be mere strangers who sought solace in each other's company after a dreadful week. he was supposed to be the one she allowed into her bed to keep it warm for just one night. "a terrible idea." ivy echoes, realising it is even worse than he knows, after accidentally discovering naeun's past involvement with the woman who indirectly caused her own breakup. but he pulls her close, and she doesn't resist. why should she, when neither of them is doing anything wrong? it may be terrible timing for her to develop feelings for someone new, but why stop when both of them are enjoying this unexpected connection? her attention drifts from his eyes to the curve of his lips, before returning to his gaze once more. "it's not too late to run away if you want." she whispers, although the mischievous gleam in her eyes suggests the opposite.
IN JUST A MATTER OF WEEK, they've gotten into this intense entanglement. Na-eun knows how messy it is to get involved with a woman who just got out of a relationship. He had only thought of it as something thrilling and fun during their first night together. The two of the just letting off the steam after a long and stressful week. It was a fluke. A one-time thing for them to act on that attraction and scratch that itch. He didn't expect that it would evolve into . . . this. Whatever this is. He finds himself hooked on her, which is unusual. He's always been the poster boy for self-control. Perhaps, the forbidden element adds to the appeal. "This is a bad idea." Despite his words, he cups the back of her neck and pulls her closer. They're reaching the point of no return. // @fadinglights
