Ivy's finger traced around the line of the pencil, carefully smudging it out for shading as she tilted her head down at the sketchpad. "There has to be something we can do though, right?" she found herself looking up and asking her brother, "To help him." It had been on her mind a lot since Maddox told her, showed her. And she couldn't stop feeling like there had to be a way to help Eddie with his power. There had to be. "What about, you know," she shook her head, avoiding saying the word the name despite them being in private, "Your new friend?" He had seemed nice and she bumped into Cal from time to time at Rune's now. Ivy sat up now and help up the sketchpad to show the drawing she had been working on of the raven with a little smile, "I could always ask Rune if he knows anything."

colin never really thought he’d do something like this ━ pay someone for company. he knows that the real direct term’s a sugar daddy but still, he never thought about it. hell, he made fun of guys for doing it. but here he was, signing on to do just that with a girl who he had never thought he’d get to know. ivy was positively radiant ━ an absolute spitfire who kept him on his toes. and while he was aware that she was just using him for the cash (this is supposed to be business, not pleasure ━ her words, not his), he couldn’t help but grow the slightest bit attached. he’s not saying he’s in love, god forbid he ever go down that dark road again. he’s just saying that he wouldn’t mind having her around a lot longer than planned. at the end of the day, he knows that she’s simply arm candy (someone whom he also sleeps with from time to time) and he’s simply her ticket to some more cash. he’s fine with that, though.

he’s dressed to the fuckin’ nines, waiting for ivy to finish up so they could head out to a special event. being a businessman ━ a successful one at that ━ meant a whole bunch of boring dinner parties he’d rather skip out on. but with ivy by his side, it made things a hell of a lot easier. and she was far from boring company, a fun distraction whenever things would get more than a little dull. colin’s nearly finished with his second glass of whiskey when he hears high heels clicking against marble floor and he glances up, seeing the brunette adorning a beautiful dress. if it weren’t for the fact that he was obligated to go to this party, he’d find every excuse in the book to stay in just so he could tear the dress off of her. “about time,” colin remarks in a cool yet calm manner, “i was about to think you disappeared or something.”

          Was she a little nervous to have her long, lost brother over? Absolutely. But she was trying to treat this like she was just getting to know a new friend, at least until they were both ready to really talk about everything. Which, she wasn’t so sure she was. “Come on in,” she opened the door and waved him in, “It’s still kind of mess but I did already get the kitchen shit put away so ... want anything to drink?”

          She went to that party pretty much being a no one, just living her life and working on her magic with Rune. After hearing about how the supernatural in the city operated, she was pretty content with her low profile existence. Between getting bitten at the museum and then Lyra Nygaard showing up and finding out about Anna, it was safe to say that Ivy did not feel that comfort anymore. “I’m sorry but I have to ask,” she broke the silence between her and Maddox, “Should I be worried about Remi? Or any of the vampires? Do you think we can actually trust Lyra?” She stopped before she kept vomiting up questions, taking in a breath.

"Yeah... I know, I wasn't talking about him being a raven," she dropped the sketchpad and took in a deep breath. Okay, clearly she was the only one thinking this way but... "Why should he be scared of himself?" she questioned her brother, sitting up more and tilting her head, "Maybe he'll want to stay a raven, it's what he's known for a long time. But maybe it would also be nice if he, I don't know, actually had an option?" Now there was a shrug of her shoulders, "A real one, where he could be a person and not have to worry about hurting people. If he wanted it." She held up her hands, standing down and leaning back against the couch. "Fine, no others, I've gotten pretty good myself now," she agreed with him. She loved Rune, didn't like the idea of not being able to tell him everything but she would never do that to either Maddox or Eddie. "Maddox, you realize that if he doesn't think its possible then he won't ask for it, right?" she questioned him, "So why not let me just... look into it a little? Just me, no one else."

When it came to Eddie, Maddox Chase was excessively protective, protecting their story from everyone. Ivy's concern was evident and not without basis, he knew that, having noticed the sketches before his sister had presented them to him; it was just all a touchy subject. A small shake of his head accompanied a slow sigh while taking up occupancy across from Ivy, large hands clasped together as elbows rested upon his knees. "His curse was living as a raven, not his magic." Maddox explained softly as heavy gaze met worried eyes looking for answers in any shape or form. "No." a pause now, the sounds of the city screaming in from the window as the pair sat quietly till Maddox was ready to explain himself. "If he wants me to do anything, then I will, but we're not involving others. There's already too many people involved in all of this, Ivy."
