Documenting my guy before I inevitably do him dirty with the rest of this because boy am I up struggle street with his brother
I love this beetle though, the true star of the piece in my eyes
#ratts complaints department#ive washed back the second fellow three times already i think i just dont know how to paint him and the board is particularly non-absorbent#in that one spot that is his face which is very unfortunate#yes i know opaque paints even ink would fight me less and i should really only paint on paper but look at that texture and transparency guys#you can see through the paint and into the pours of the ground and im learning to get the pooling colours to look like gemstone#ill just keep kicking down the thorny path
