this is just me being petty over fandom-nonsense, but as a poc whos been reading dunmeshi for 6+ years, seeing white anime-onlys make posts about the characters of color that are inaccurate at best (and racist at worst) while woobifying white characters is so annoying
feeling like thistle, get these white interlopers out my dungeon
#yes these are just fictional characters. but Real Life People of Color can see how white ppl talk about fictional racialized characters#we can see how you assign positive intent to white characters being needlessly mean and rude#meanwhile assigning poc malicious intent when there is none or when they have justified concerns#speaking in general here bc ive seen white ppl being weird+racist abt all the major supporting characters of color#who have showed up in the anime so far#its not just me noticing this shit either lol. just as 1 example:#ive seen several east asian fans express how they empathized with toshiro's grievances towards Iaios re: feeling unable to express#their discomfort towards white ppl who were being pushy + crossing their boundaries + being racist (intentionally or not)#ive seen some who said they were shocked toshiro is hated by many western fans bc of that 1 fight#since the characters ended up forgiving each other afterwards + learning and growing from it#mynn.txt
