if tumblr permits, i would like to introduce the newest member of the family, birch!

juniper needed a friend and i was going to wait until this summer to get him one but i wasnt happy with how he was acting (bored, lazy, frantic at times) and figured if my parents were fine with it i should go ahead and do it now. birch has been with us for a little over a month now and they get along great. they're rarely more than a foot away from each other and love exploring and stealing my things to make nests together. theyve already reportedly stolen two worm on a strings to add to their nest. love wins

#birch was a similar situation to juniper where he was separated from the bird he was paired with at the pet store unfortunately #i hate to buy animals from petsmart but i cannot find anywhere else that sells society finches and i didnt want a zebra finch #after these two pass though im done with finches #ive loved the ones ive had but theyre rarely bred and kept in ethical conditions and mosty sold at chain pet stores #which makes it harder to get one responsibly #birch is my final bad decision when it comes to birds. but god is he a beautiful bad decision #he makes a pew pew noise like a lazer when he sings #he makes juniper cluck like a hen when juniper looks after their nest or preens him. the birds are gay #simon says #birds
