Stockholms Stadsbibliotek (Stockholm Public Library) by architect Gunnar Asplund, designed in 1922 and completed 1928. I tend to get drawn back to transition styles time after time and this library, a landmark building in Stockholm is a fine example of architecture's gradual shift from classicism to functionalism. Although I love functionalism, it did often lack the poetic approach as seen here at the main entrance hall with it's Greek style wall decorations carved on black marble inspired by "Iliad" by Homeros ca. 700 BC.
