Richard Oakdell is the Lord of the Rocks and the Duke of Nador.

The son of the leader of the rebels Egmont Oakdell and Mirabella Oakdell (Carlyon). He was raised by his mother and uncle Avon Larak in the spirit of People of Honor: Richard is an esperatist, admires his ancestor Alan Oakdell and his father, whom he considers a hero and a martyr who suffered for the Great Taligoya and People of Honor.

He despises the usurpers, the Ollarian church and the "dung men" — people who received nobility from the Ollars.
