Anodite Devlin Levin!
I always headcanoned Devlin as Kevin's and Gwen's kid, so I wanted to redesign him a bit and add some of my headcanons
-1) he has a lucky cat/lucky girl cat patch that Gwen made him and embroidered into his favorite hoodie and sometimes he Lowkey takes over her identity as lucky boy and takes her cat mask with him on his little solo missions
-2) I headcanon anodites as a female only species (although they don't care much about gender) so Devlin is a trans man, in his anodite form, his top surgery scars are made of stardust and mana and have little stars shining in them.
-3) I also headcanon anodites as goat or deer like, so they have hooves and horns, the older the anodite, the longer their horns grow as a symbol of their power (Devlin is still a teen so his horns are relatively small, they start to sprout as itty bitty little nubs when an anodite is around 10-11, yes that's a Ben 10/Kevin 11 reference lol) I wanted the slight goat features to be a metaphor for how goats have been seen as a sign of secret knowledge, magic, witchcraft and the occult thought history so this is my way of saying I see anodites as the cosmos/universe version of a witch
-4) I also think Devlin would be very into spells and magic and Both him and Gwen would bond over that, Gwen would definitely mentor him in how to use spells and mix it with mana and his anodites powers.
That's all I got for now, hope you guys enjoyed my take on Devlin and Anodite lore

Heyyy everyone, I've been scrolling through fairly oddparents posts and got so inspired I thought up ideas enough for 4 aus lol
Hopefully I'll draw smth for them soon
Those are all WIPs!
1) Whimsy au. Redesign of fairies and other magical creatures to make them look more, well... Whimsical! They would have different clothes, wings and maybe tails. Along with Cosmo having feathery bird-like tail, Wanda's being more fluffy and Peri's a mix of both.
They also have wands made of different wood all having specific properties.
Inspired by, well, what I know about fairies from other media and @cubbihue 's itty bitties au
2) College Peri au
He transforms into human at a very young for a fairy age and is kinda shitty about it. He has many give-aways, such as - longer ears, sparkly hair, sometimes he forgets himself and starts floating.
Why does he do it? Well, from a very young age, Peri has been involved in human culture, growing up along his older brother Timmy and he absorbed a lot.
He deserves some friends hus own age so I want him mingling with colledge young adults, like Anthony and his girl friend.
Peri is mischievous in this one, tot using his magic sneakily to win in uno for exampl. He will maybe get caught by Anthony? Anyway Anthony will know about magic but wouldn't know that Hazel knows too.
Anthony and Hazel pretending around each other that they don't know about fairies etc
Peri partying with humans he and getting drunk way too easily and accidentally doing magic stuff lolol
3) Uncontrollable magic/ kinda "evil" Peri au?
Been seeing some evil peri posts and I love them. Also remember posts about his magic being suppressed, love that two. So here's my take at combining those concepts kind of.
Born to the Cosma line, an ancient and powerful one, Peri surpassed dven his parents. It happens sometimes with magical beings when a kid is even stronger then their parents.
Being that powerful means his magic was suppressed pretty much as soon as they knew just how devastating it could be. So, since early ears he doesn't remember.
No one really taught him how to use it and maybe he's even oblivious himself.
But it wouldn't be for long ohoho.
Kinda blue exorcist inspired.
When his magic gets out it's uncontrollable, raw, threatening and he can hardly control it or who he becomes when it does happen
4) Dad Peri au. Peri accidentally becoms human when Dev wishes for him to be his father.
Dev with purple hair? Maybe
Peri losing his memories of magic? Gang trying to bring them back?
Maybe
So that's what I thought up today
Sorry if it's too similar to someone else's idea, oh well, I sure hope it's not. Ohoho aus are so coool I like reading them and thinking about them

I THINK HAZBIN HOTEL REDESIGNS WOULD LOOK REALLY GOOD IN YOUR STYLE
(Even haters are doing them
OKAY I WANNA GET THIS OUT BEFORE ANYTHING!
I got this ask in January and actually did most of these drawings then. I was a little worried to post bc of all the discourse happening around this show and the fact no one seems to have a neutral opinion on it.
I am not a Hazbin Hotel fan, I also don't hate it. I don't really care about it tbh. I used to be a fan but kinda fell off in the time between the pilot and the show.
These designs are the Hazbin characters but in a hell universe that I created with a friend of mine, these are not critiques of the canon designs and they are not connected to the actual Hazbin lore.
Thank you.
I only did four, I ran out of steam and stopped caring when I got to Husk, I might finish them some day but for now you get these four.
Charlie
I'm not too happy with how this one looks tbh and I may redo it at some point. Charlie, like her father Lucifer is a Pride demon, which have a birdlike appearance in this hell universe. They also appear the most angelic, which is why she has the face wings.
Again, I'm not fond of this one.
Vaggie
Vaggie is a wrath demon. She is tough and quick to get into conflict with others, often fights she may not be able to win (she is itty bitty). When she gets angry her "hair" gets brighter and more wild, it is fire after all. She puts up an emotional shield, one she only lets down around Charlie. She's not a fallen angel here, at least not a first generation one.
I like the colors on this one, I think they look nice :3
Angel Dust
He's supposed to have horns but ummmmmm shhhh.
Angel is an incubus. Like a lot of incubi he is a performer. I wanted his clothes to look a bit more like he was from the 1930s even though "sinners" aren't really a thing in this universe it would be a nod to the original character. I think a lot of his story would be similar from what I know, I didn't come up with much for him.
Alastor
The dudee
He is a goat demon which are the demons of gluttony bc I heard smth about Alastor representing gluttony in the show??
I didn't think about him much either, he's just a devious goat man who is a lot more powerful than he seems. I think he probably has some sort of connection to the angels in this universe or smth idk.
Also bonus
Angel as a drag queen bc she came to me in a dream. That's her performance btw she does drag. I forgot that the original Angel is supposed to be a drag queen like??? She has her horns as I originally intended too. I love her actually

(Old reference! Not a final design!)
Going to sit down to ramble about another oc of mine that I found a place for under the demon brothers story =//3
This guy-- Feels like the personification of the inner workings of my own personal anxiety skxjskxjs
Merlot is Zelle's assistant, brillent and intelligent and so sharp witted and-- that completely gets thrown out the window if other people are in his proximity. Completely turns into a big stuttering anxious mess, can't think right, drops things, can't focus / concentraite. Rambles and sputters, and overexplains.
Extremely socially awkward!
And when he's alone/in a crisis it's like day and night or a switch is flipped, he turns into this cold calculating being, focused, even confident. But as soon as it's social situations and he is out of his element, it like sociallizing compeletly disarms him. And makes it hard for him to think critically.
I think it, deep down it's something like this-->
Logical things are easy to mentally digest for him, remove emotions from, and focus on studying and learning, you learn patterns and facts in a clean enviornment. Sure, there are setbacks, you might have to start something over from scratch. Waste valuable resources but with people, there's only really one go, two if you're lucky. You leave a good impression on them, or you don't.
People have patterns too, but unlike lab things, this is emotionally messy, to learn about people, you have to interact with them, sometimes you hurt them, sometimes you say the wrong thing-- and to someone who is such a typical know it all perfectionist, suddenly being plunged into unknown, uncharted territory where you can't guage how things will go-- Yikes!
To mess up and hurt somebody by accident, (this is the fear talking) to hurt someone so much that it changes their view of you, something irriversible that ruins the relationship-- That's terrifying.
There is no reset, what's said is said, what's done is done.
So of course with this highstrung bean, if you are friends or more with Zelle, Zelle will totally make Merlot take you places, and tell him that's his job for today.
Get the shy bean out of the house to get some fresh air and "You kids go have funnnnnnnn~"
=//3c
Merlot unknowingly is like. . . one of Zelle's side projects he has been cracking away at and working with getting him more at ease around people x////D
(Please don't turn your assistant into a social experiement I get you wanna help him but akskdksokdkdkd)
Zelle / any other person he gets close to- Will also realize Merlot has a teeny tiny, itty bitty sassy streak, that pops up every now and again, it's kind of like an angry kitten, and I love him for that ;-;; )
Still have to work on a redesign for him-- and a possible name change? =//) Thanks for reading my rambling, please give this man a hug. He needs reassurance and validation zkskxkskz

Friday FAQs: Carrot cake inspiration, high-protein pasta, grain-free flours, and more
https://coschedule.s3.amazonaws.com/165127/25e78ef5-4c89-4c09-a859-a1bdff49c1cc/1.png
We’re baaaaaack! Thanks for all of the Friday FAQs love last week. It was so exciting to see your enthusiasm for the return of this series. Please keep those questions (and answers) coming! And we’ve got even MORE fun news to share with you…next week will mark the return of another series—Things I’m Loving Lately! I’ve received a lot of requests for this series to be brought back and I’m absolutely thrilled to be rebooting it in 2018.
Q1. I love your Fail-Proof Vegan Chocolate Cupcakes with Salted Buttercream! I would love a recipe for a classic carrot cake with cream cheese frosting! Do you have one? I love all your recipes :)
A. Hi Jenny, Thank you! Oh man…I can’t even tell you how many vegan carrot cakes I’ve attempted over the years! I’m so picky and don’t like to share anything I’m not 100% sold on, but I’ll keep working on it. I do have some great carrot cake-inspired recipes you can check out in the meantime though: Whole Grain Carrot Cake Loaf with Lemon Glaze, Vegan Carrot Spice Muffins for Grandpa, Heavenly Carrot Cake Baked Oatmeal, and Itty Bitty Carrot Cake Cookies.
Q2. Thanks for helping me discover that vegan cooking can be so easy and delicious. I’m giving this Cumin Lime Black Bean Quinoa Salad a try for lunch this week and can’t help noticing that the lemon-tahini dressing has no lemon in it but instead lime.
A. Hey Kim, Thank you so much for the kind words! The Lemon-Tahini Dressing listed in the ingredient list is actually supposed to link to the dressing recipe in my Lightened Up Protein Power Goddess Bowl! It’s wonderful drizzled on top of this quinoa salad. I’ve now added the link to the Cumin Lime Black Bean Quinoa Salad ingredient list so you can access it more easily. Thanks for mentioning it!
Q3. Are you still using the Cuisinart Food Processor? I need to buy a new processor and I am sure that you use a good one.
A. Hi June, Yes, I’m still using the Cuisinart 14-Cup Food Processor, but sadly I don’t recommend it as mine has broken in two different places after only about a year of use. I don’t know if the brand’s quality has diminished or if I just got a dud! I’d LOVE to hear from fellow blog readers who might have a food processor recommendation for us!
Q4. Angela, This Friday FAQs redesign is so fresh and clean—love it! Do you have any tips for substituting oat flour in your gluten-free recipes? Sadly, I can’t even do GF oats due to cross-contamination, and grains are out, too. Thank goodness I love veggies! I bought your first cookbook for all my sis-in-laws and BFF and they bought the app and OSG 2.0. We are all happy OSG households.
A. Hey Kathy, Thank you so much for the cookbook and app love!! And for gifting them too. :) I’m so honoured! A few grain-free flours that I stock in my pantry are: almond flour, coconut flour and cassava flour, as well as a variety of starches like arrowroot and tapioca. You might be able to experiment with a combo of those flours/starches in recipes calling for oat flour, but generally it takes some patience to get the right ratios (and it would vary depending on the recipe). I’ve tried using straight-up cassava flour as a 1:1 sub for regular flour in several recipes and I haven’t been pleased with the texture/flavour so far (I’m thinking a combo of grain-free flours may work better, but I’m also super picky with my baked goods!). Is there an oat flour-based recipe you’d like to try first? I’m always up for a little experimentation, so if you have one in mind feel free to chime in and I’ll see what I can do!
Q5. Does this Golden Beet Salad with Shallots, Parsley, and Orange Miso Dressing hold up the next day? I was thinking of prepping this the night before for lunch at work. Perhaps just leave the dressing off?
A. Hey Alexis, I love your idea of leaving the dressing off. Quinoa tends to be super thirsty and can diminish the orange dressing’s flavour with time, so it’s a good idea to make the dressing separately and add it right before serving! I’d love to hear how it goes.
Q6. Yeah…Friday FAQS are back! I usually make homemade marinara sauce and hummus, but do you have a favourite jarred marinara and ready-made hummus brand? It would be helpful to have for a quick one-pot weeknight meal!
A. Hey Kristen, So glad to hear you’re pumped for the return of Friday FAQs! As for store-bought marinara and hummus, you bet I have a couple go-tos: my fave marinara is the Victoria White Linen Collection Marinara Sauce found at many Costco locations. We’re all obsessed (including my extended family!). I think I have about six in my pantry right now. As for store-bought hummus, I love both Fontaine Sante Organic Classic Hummus and Sunflower Kitchen Classic Hummus+ (both Canadian brands). I mix them together in Adriana’s Fave 10-Minute Pasta recipe and also love the marinara in my Hunky Heartbeet Cabbage Soup—the added flavour is out of this world.
Q7. Why is it called 8-Minute Pantry Dal: “Two Ways”? What’s the second way?
A. Hey Supriya, Oh good question! The two ways are the two curry powder options that I provide in my recipe tip. If you don’t have a favourite curry powder blend on hand to use (way #1), I suggest a little DIY method for way #2: 1 1/2 teaspoons ground turmeric, 1 1/2 teaspoons ground coriander, 1 teaspoon ground cumin, 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger (or more to taste), and 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional). Don’t forget to use the 1 1/2 teaspoons of both garlic powder and minced onion, as well. If you run out of curry powder, this back-up spice mix comes in handy and tastes great. I can’t decide which way is my favourite!
Q8. Can I throw in some lentils when I’m cooking Adriana’s Fave 10-Minute Pasta?
A. Hey Lindsay, Oh that’s a fun idea! Your suggestion made me so curious that I just had to give it a whirl myself. I mixed my go-to dry Monograno Khorasan-Kamut Fusilli Pasta with uncooked red lentils. I used red lentils because they cook so quickly. Here’s the method I’d recommend: Bring a pot of water to a gentle boil, then stir in the uncooked pasta and red lentils along with a pinch of salt. For my first attempt I used 3 cups uncooked pasta and 3/4 cups uncooked red lentils. Reduce the heat to medium/high and simmer uncovered until the pasta is tender (simply following the package directions). In my test, the red lentils broke down completely—but that ended up being a happy result as one of my kiddos tends to pick out whole lentils in any dish. They weren’t easily discernible once the sauce was mixed, but do produce a thicker overall texture (which I loved!). I did find that I needed to use more sauce since the lentils dried out the pasta a bit. I’d like to experiment with other kinds of lentils in the future, too! Between this and my high-protein red lentil rice option, I’d say it’s pretty easy to boost the protein and fibre in kid-friendly dishes without impacting the overall recipe too much. #winning!
“Hey Angela! I just wanted to let you know what a great resource your recipes have been to us. Our little guy just turned 1 (man does it go fast!) and he is a huge fan of Adriana’s Fave 10-minute Pasta. I usually make it with lentil pasta for him so it’s packed with protein and fiber. Thanks for the lentil and rice tip as well! I will absolutely be trying it. Red lentils are also great mixed in your Hunky Heartbeet Cabbage Soup to bump the protein and fiber, they don’t impact the taste at all. It’s my son’s favorite soup, although hugely messy! Oh and a note to Jenny: I have made the Whole-Grain Carrot Cake Loaf into cupcakes or even a cake tin and topped with cream cheese icing (the one you use on your Vegan Cinnamon Rolls is great). It is perhaps the tiniest bit denser than a ‘classic’ carrot cake because of the spelt, but absolutely delicious nonetheless.”
Hey Kendra, Aww happy birthday to your little boy! Such a sweet age. I’m so glad he loves the 10-Minute Pasta recipe. I also love to use red lentil or chickpea pasta in that recipe from time to time. And I love your protein-boosting Hunky Heartbeet Cabbage Soup trick! I wouldn’t have thought to try adding lentils in that one, but it’s a great idea. Okay, with all this talk of my Whole-Grain Carrot Cake Loaf, I’m going to have to make it this weekend!!
Update: I made the loaf and it was fantastic! I love rediscovering old blog recipes…so glad you mentioned it. Actually, if you pop over to my Insta Stories today you can see a couple behind-the-scenes action shots! PS…I’m revamping this loaf for the recipe app and blog in the coming days, too!
