Manic Street Preachers really don’t get the credit they deserve for keeping glam alive and fresh as a genre, as their 2010 album Postcards From A Young Man demonstrates well. It still amazes me how the Welsh band manages to strike the delicate balance between retro and contemporary sounds, making the music almost timeless, yet remaining topical and relevant for the period of release. Just the way of the world of politically charged songwriting. Good vibes. Highlight tracks include (It’s Not War) Just The End Of Love, the title track, Some Kind Of Nothingness, Golden Platitudes, and Don’t Be Evil. Available on iTunes and Spotify. Today was a bit of up and down, good cardio session let down by a migraine aura which really needs to go away.
