And I Saw the Face of God || Justin & Brian
Justin had gotten the double take from the doorman at Babylon when he looked at his ID. He knew why. He looked like he was seventeen and his driver’s license said twenty-five. It assumed him to think that his real age would shock the man considering he was one hundred and ten years old. Yes, Justin was a vampire.
But he wasn’t the monster that you’ve watched in horror movies nor was he dead or undead. He was descended from Atlantis. One of his ancestors had gotten cancer or had a horrible accident and the cure in that culture was an injection of nanos; a medical engineered cure all that would enter the blood stream and repair the damage done to the body. What scientists didn’t realize that everything the body went through, sun exposure, contaminated water, food or air, and simple aging caused body breakdown. So instead of the nanos dying off once the cancer was gone or injures were repaired, they continued to repair the body.
Back in the day all vamps survived off of blood straight off the hoof because the nanos required extra blood and would cause severe cramps if the didn’t get it. However fifty years ago the president of the North American Vampire Society, his great-grandfather, ruled that everyone except a few vamps who had an enzyme deficiency that meant they had to live off fresh blood, would live off bagged blood unless it was an emergency. Also back then they limited how often they went out during daytime and rarely ate food because the more damage done the more they had to hunt and the more dangerous it became that they would be discovered. Justin was one of those odd few who still had to hunt because he needed more enzymes than bagged blood provided along with several of his cousins including Blake who was with him that night.
Once inside he looked around the gay men’s club and immediately was drawn to a tall brunette standing at the bar. He walked over intending to lead him to the backroom, feed from him and replace his and everyone else’s memory with a memory of him going down on him. However when he tried to control him he couldn’t. He tried again and still got a blank. His eyes then widened. The only time a vampire couldn’t read a human was if they were their mate, their soulmate, the one person they would never be able to control or read.
Next thing he knew he was right in front of him. “Hi! I am Justin Taylor. Um...... would you like to dance with me?”, he asked nervously. He hoped deep down that he would like him and want to be with him.

@itsmrkinney:
Brian stills for a moment, somewhat surprised by Debbie’s sudden embrace. He tentatively wraps an arm around her, returning it. “I’m fine, Deb,” he reassures her, his voice incredibly quiet. “I told you, I’m fine.”
the quiet voice that greeted her hug wasn’t something she enjoyed hearing. she knew that there was something wrong, that something was off. but she also knew that if she pushed any harder, she probably wouldn’t get any more answers (not that she had gotten any prior to the hug). but that hug was the only thing she could think of that would show the man that she had long considered her son the affection she felt for him. “you’ll get back on your feet soon enough, sweetheart.”

College highjinx || Kinneycutt
Emmett was humming to himself decorating his dorm waiting for his roommate to show up and busied himself setting up a plate of cookies. He heard the door burst open no knocking or anything. He looked up and pursed his lips when he recognized the man.
"Excuse you, Brian what are you doing here?" He demanded his hands on his hips as he waited for an explanation. "Did you get lost, I know it's hard for you to take direction." He teased his friend lightly. He grabbed the paper out of the others hand and held his own to it but there it was his dorm number. He rolled his eyes and laughed. "Welp, no mistaking it guess were roommates. " He confirmed.

Justin laughed softly. “I was thinking about after the kids are asleep, Bri. Of course we will send the time with our children until then. I am thinking of watching a movie with everyone and eating some pizza as a family.”, he told him. He slowly dressed himself in the scrubs he had been given to wear. He was still a little sore from where he fell but he was so ready to head home. He wondered what Brian was doing in the bag but he wasn’t really worried about it. He handed him the discharge papers to add to put in the bag so it could later be placed with their medical records in their home office’s filing cabinet.
He smiled as Brian held out his wedding ring to him. He remembered the day they married like it was yesterday. He sighed happily as he heard his man call him “Mr.Kinney”. It had been his reaction since the Episcopal priest had announced them husband and husband and Mr. & Mr. Kinney. He held out his hand and allowed Brian to slide the ring onto his ring ring finger. He kissed his husband’s lips sweetly. “Thank you. Wouldn’t want that hot male nurse in the ER thinking I was available or that you aren’t my husband. He’s not hot enough to go back to wearing condoms again..”, he said with a smile.
He took Brian’s free hand in his and tucked himself under his arm. He walked out with his man making his way to the hospital entrance. They hailed a cab at the entrance and soon we’re on their way home to their Manhattan apartments. As soon as they came to the front door of the building, the doorman asked how he was doing, as he had been on duty when Daphne had arrived to stay with their children. He told him he had a concussion but would be right as rain in a few days. They rode up the elevator and soon were walking into the apartment. He giggled when he heard Daphne call out to remind their daughter to be gentle. She hugged him sweetly and he steered them to the couch. They cuddled on it as she talked about how scared she had been. He told her he had been scared too until her Dad had arrived at the hospital. It made him happy he was there to take care of him. “You know your Daddy always makes scary things not so scary anymore.”, he reassured her.

Justin giggled softly. “I wouldn’t expect anything less than that, stud.”, he told him. He always thought Brian’s protective tendencies were cute. The doctor walked out and a minute later the nurse came in. She disconnected the IV attached to the back of his hand and removed it. She then had him sign several papers before handing him a bag of his clothes and a set of scrubs. “Your clothes are dirty from where you fell so I grabbed you a clean set of scrubs in the same size. As soon as you are dressed you are free to go. I will escort you downstairs. Just come out when you are ready.”, she said before slipping out of the room.
Justin got dressed in the scrubs and smiled softly. “You want to play doctor and naughty nurse later?”, he teased his husband as he placed the hospital gown in the clothing hamper. He came over and took Brian’s hand while carrying the bag of dirty clothes in the other. “Ready to go home?”
Brian rolls his eyes at Justin’s remark. Leave it to Sunshine to try to find humor in this whole fucking situation, he thinks, his eyes trained on the younger man as the nurse walks in and begins to remove the IV. As Justin signs his papers, Brian holds out his hand for the bag of his belongings.
“Here, I’ll take that,” he says simply, briefly returning the small smile the nurse gives him before she steps out of the room. As Justin begins to undress, Brian grabs his phone and wallet off the bedside table, stowing both in his pocket before he leans against the wall opposite the bed.
As he begins rifling through the bag of Justin’s belongings, looking for one item in particular, he rolls his eyes at his partner’s comment. “Yeah, as tempting as that is, Sunshine, I’m gonna have to pass on that one.” Finally, he finds what he was looking for at the bottom of the bag, holding the item tightly in his hand as he zips it closed. He looks up at Justin, arching a brow. “You forget we’ve got a full house tonight? After everything, I’m sure the last thing Daphne needs is to babysit any longer than she already has.” He straightens and moves over to Justin, running the fingers of his free hand lightly through the younger man’s hair. “And after everything that’s happened tonight, I’m sure Taylor’s not gonna let you out of her sight. At least, until she’s exhausted enough to go to bed.”
As they cross to the door, Brian catches Justin’s hand. “Hey, I think you’re forgetting something, Mr. Kinney,” he tells him, his voice slightly teasing as he holds up Justin’s wedding ring between his thumb and forefinger. “You might wanna put this back on, slugger, or that hot RN on the ground floor might think you’re a free man.”

Tripping Over Brian Kinney || Justin & Brian
Justin noticed the tall brunette as soon as they had gotten to the meeting point for the seventh grade annual field trip to New York City. He was pleased to see another man was going on the trip. Usually he was the only man to chaperone the private school’s three night long field trip which left responsibility of all forty boys to him alone. He just hoped that he wasn’t homophobic since he would be spending most of the next eighty-four hours with him. He smiled at the older man and held out his hand to shake his hand. “Hi, I’m Justin Taylor, the art teacher for seventh and eighth grade. It’s nice to have another man going on this trip for once. Which of the kids is yours?”, he asked him since he knew he wasn’t a teacher.

@itsmrkinney gets a random thing.
Pittsburgh was one of those places that seemed to never change and change at the same time. Somehow he’d ended up in the Liberty Avenue area trying to decide where he wanted to go. He didn’t really care what people thought of him and sometimes it was nice to just explore and that’s what he was doing. Deciding to head into a club he figured if it wasn’t his something he liked he could leave and go somewhere else but for now he was set on Woody’s. Walking to the door he moved inside and went to the bar to order a drink, glad that they seemed to have everything before lurking around the edge of where people were dancing, taking in all the people that were there.
“So many interesting people,” he muttered to himself. Taking a long sip from his drink, his blue eyes looked around as he spotted someone that was even more interesting though he wasn’t going to just go up and talk to the person, so he just stood there and watched all the people though his eyes were on the man that had caught his eye more often then naught.

@itsmrkinney Michael was flipping through a comic on the arm of his friend's couch. He glanced up when he entered the room. "Alright, what's wrong? You know it's not shirt optional right? Em won't stop texting me asking if we are coming yet. You know how he gets." He warned him with a roll of his eyes. "Besides it's the first day of spring how many times have we had to all get together like this?" He asked him with a soft smile before moving to his closet to help him. "What about this one? I've always liked you in it." He told him.

“Does it really not matter if the money you spent on my education if I fail? How can that not matter? After everything?” He asked as his voice grew soft and unsure. “I don’t want to fail, I don’t want all of the shit I’ve been through and you’ve endured because of me to be for nothing. I want to make you proud and I want to prove my dad and everyone who doubted me wrong but what if I do fail?”

Parties and parties|| Kinneycutt
Emmett sat at a table at the diner looking a bit stressed a mess of Christmas cards and wrapping paper and notebook full of scribbles and doodles of floor plans and wedding to do lists. He loved it normally. The planner felt a little overwhelmed. He didn't notice the jingle of the bell to signal someone coming in or the looming figure of his friend. He didn't look up from his task but finally voiced a greeting. "Hello Brian, you do know it's a bit rude to hover." He finally looked to him with a smile to him. "Sorry, just my weekend is crammed to the brim with holiday party after holiday party. It's enough to turn anyone into a bit of scrooge. My fault I shouldn't have said yes to everyone " He wrinkled his nose. "What are you up to?" He asked moving his papers in a bit of a sloppy stack so the other could sit down.
