#manga covers#magazine covers#rounding out this string of sketchy bunkasha magazines#i appreciate that these magazines all clearly cater to a similar crowd#yet are in fact distinct from one another#as this one leans into more of a conventional Horror look#as opposed to meltyKill's crime thriller angle#or comic RiSky's just straight up domestic violence#incidentally i dont know how evident it was from the art styles#or the general vibe of the individual titles across these magazines#but as far as i know bunkasha publishes almost exclusively women's magazines#in spite of (or maybe exactly in line with...) the pretty cringy fixation on battered and victimized women#to be fair some of these fit the bill for the similar tone you'd see in a lot of fanfic#which also checks out with these all being much smaller magazines and web publications#but a few do still strike me as odd#specifically the ones in comic risky#its what reads as a very male gaze specific brand of fetishizing violence#but then again what do i know? ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯
