I will say: you know a run was good when the new writer's announcement reads like an obituary.
The understanding that this is a tragedy. The respectful and reserved tone. The promise to preserve the legacy.
We all know that this is not a cause for celebration.
#the new writer was very aware that people wouldn't be happy about this. very aware. that announcement was placating and solemn#doesn't win any points in my book though#he asked for the series. the absolute ego this guy has to see a series doing so well and say 'yeah i can do better'#if he doesn't follow through then i will be pissed#he's either confident or a narcissist and only the quality of his Flash run will determine which one he is#at least if he fails spectacularly then dc will give it back to Adams#its sucks that im left only hoping for fringe case scenarios. an absolute flop or an absolute hit seller#we all win if it's amazing. if it sucks we get Adams back. if its 'meh'... well. we'd probably be stuck with it#dc#dc comics#the flash#kid flash#wally west
