what if 'lil hal' lowkey hoped his human self wouldnt come back after dying so that he could take his place as dirk again? what then, huh? would anyone notice, if he built himself back up, inserted himself into dirk's mind, rewrote his code, built himself a body remotely? they might. would his friends mind, if it meant continuing to be able to talk with their friend after his death, even if it meant he wasnt 'the real one'? even if it meant they had entirely different experiences that neither of them can truly comprehend, memories that neither dirk can reclaim?
