girl help im about to embark on a quest to try to capture and tame a random feral cat i saw in the woods next to the highway
#personal#so i saw a cat today#driving down the highway. saw a kitty on the side of the road walking out of the woods.#instantly slammed on the brakes and pulled over to go try to chase it down.#unsurprisingly: didnt catch it lol#i didnt expect to but i wouldve felt awful if i didnt at least try : (#so now ive formulated an entire multistep long form plan to try to capture it#im gonna call a rescue tomorrow for advice#but its almost certainly 100% feral so the rescue probably wont be willing to do too much#and even if they DID catch it itd probably be unadoptable so TNR would be their only decision#except that road is in the middle of goddamn nowhere so TNR is a terrible option jfkdlsajkl#which means i think i have to adopt this cat myself if i catch it 😬#im gonna ask if i can borrow traps from the rescue and like.. put a down payment or smth as collateral : |#then try for months to catch a wild cat i guess!#and then spend years taming it :^|#bc i 100% believe feral cats deserve a chance and a home too! it just takes time and effort#if i catch it im naming it greed#:^)#i just cant leave the poor thing alone : (#its obviously surviving fine but just 'fine' doesnt mean the cat deserves to be abandoned and treated like a wild animal#next time i go into the woods ill wear my boots and jeans instead of just flip flops and pants from forever 21#lemme tell you: not a gr8 outfit for mud stomping and forcing your way through branches#also i found a deer skull out there and stole it.
