if you're lucky enough to actually find someone you can almost halfway tolerate, you need sink your nails in and don't ever let go, no matter what

You need to settle

because otherwise you're just gonna get older, and harder, and more and more alone.

and then you're gonna do everything you can to try and fill that hole, maybe with friends, and your career, and meaningless sex, but the hole will never get filled.

Then one day, you're gonna look around and then you're going to realise that everybody *loves* you, but nobody actually likes you.

and that is probably the loneliest feeling in the world
