Revision 2:
God’s/Allah’s Punishments on Those Committed the Two Genocides in the Israel-Hamas War
God’s/Allah’s Punishments on Those Committed the Two Genocides
 in the Israel-Hamas War
By Mai-Trang Thi Nguyen or Trang
(The female Buddha carrying the reincarnation theory of Buddha via Hinduism or the hardcore heterosexuality of God/the father of Jesus/Allah/Krishna/Ong Troi/ etc. living as a Vietnamese hardcore-heterosexual female with hardcore-heterosexual eggs.) 2/15/2024 (3:16 p.m.)
Dear Israelis:
Yes, God or Allah (same thing in my view) is using Netanyahu, his IDF, and American freedom-equality bombs to punish the Hamas terrorist animals, the Palestinian terrorist animals, the Gazan terrorist animals, and the Gazan children terrorist animals (even the 5 Gazan premature-incubator-baby terrorist animals who died around the first month of battle because electricity was cut off by Israel) in the last 4.2 months for their actions, celebration, and denials of a tiny-tiny genocide of shooting a poor colonizing-settler Israeli infant in his/her crib, possibly burning still-alive-after-getting-shot-at poor colonizing-settler Israeli baby(ies) in the fire along with Israeli colonizing-settler adult carcasses, kidnapping colonizing-settler Israeli babies and toddlers (use precious war bargaining chips while living in the land of bombs, starvation, and dehydration with hepatitis A erupting), and killing the highest number of deaths in a terrorist attack/war in one day during the last 2 decades (1,139) with 8,730 people injured.
I, as revengeful animal and an American banana, can think it is genocide against their occupiers, because those poor Israeli infants and children never had a chance to vote for Netanyahu and his IDF to be their government who impose such an inhumane apartheid system on their indigenous people (the Gazans, the Palestinians, and the Gazan violent militant group called the Hamas) whose land got stolen (75% and still losing more) while Netanyahu, his IDF, and most Israelis call themselves a civilized democracy white people.  Those poor Israeli children never chose to come to steal Palestine and renamed it as Israel (the land where the Hamas said their Muhammad died and went to heaven, the land where the Christians said their Lord Jesus Christ or God’s was born, the land where the ancient Jews (ancestors of the Israelis) who happened to nail God’s son Jesus lived 2,500 years ago).  To an animal like me, babies (even premature babies in incubators) and people under 18 represent life of earth, humanity, a race, a religion, a type of people, a piece of that land, etc.  Because we live in today’s humanity with tons of bibles, religious books, many versions of God here and there being thrown in our faces, a billion self-help books/websites/radios/podcasts, etc. to help us humans control our animal instincts, I (a hardcore-heterosexual female with eggs) learned that harming people under 18 years old constitute a genocide even if they and their adults are the first to hurt me (so I must wait until they are 18).
Now let’s discuss how God or Allah would punish Israel as the result of “civilized’ democracy Israel, “able to be reasoned with” Netanyahu and his “humans and not animals” IDF in their animalistic revenge with generous-free-obese American bombs and probably guns from “nice guy” Biden and the great democracy of America.  I, Trang, think the solution is for Gaza to be the Vatican City of Muhammad’s religion with its own control of drinking water from the river via the “from sea to river” chant to pay for the sacrifice of those 5 dead Gazan incubator babies.  Replace the name West Bank to Palestine as its own country of its own government and military, with no trace of any paw prints of the Israeli government and its army, police, and settlers.  Kick out all Israeli and American (militia men and cowboys) settlers and hand them handsome fat checks for their hard work building the freeways and infrastructure of the land they are stealing and already in the West Bank in which the U.N. condemned.
If this aforementioned is not possible, then our children and grandchildren will fix their parents’ and grand-parents’ mistakes and turn Israel into a finally legit country (recognized by the U.N.) under the name of Israel-Palestine with the “true democracy” of allowing the returning of millions of Palestinians from Egypt, Lebanon, London, New York, America, etc. which will make Israelis the minority citizens (as what God truly intended when the British only gave the Nazi-camp Jews a tiny piece of Palestine to live and rebuild their tortured lives after the genocide of 6 million jews in Europe).  However, your future Israeli generation will finally get peace and happiness living under true democracy laws that will protect them from being bullied and hurt by the Palestinian young generation.   It will be true democracy in the Middle-East (right next to Africa).  Those rich ex-settlers of the West Bank (American militia men from the North East of America and church cowboys) can use their fat checks to buy off properties around the place where their Lord Jesus was born and get permits to build their white people’s churches (not Palestine people’s churches).  I believe their Lord would approve of this path because it involves no stealing and killing of indigenous people under their Lord’s name.
Below is a list of acts which constituted a genocide in Gaza and even in the West Bank released by the hurt and hate of the Israelis, Netanyahu, his IDF, and the settlers in the West Bank (Israelis and Americans) in  their animalistic revenge against the Hamas and its people:
The deaths of 5 poor premature Gazan babies during the first 4 weeks of this war because Israeli democracy deliberately cut off electricity, prevented fuel from entering Gaza via aid trucks, and refused to allow dozens and dozens of premature Gazan babies in the incubators to leave Gaza before showering down American generous-obese bombs in Gaza.
The deaths of 12,000 of Gazan children, 100 deaths of the West Bank children (one Palestinian child was attacked with blood spilling out by an IDF dog in a house raid according to Al Jazeera News), the missing of 2,000 Gazan children, the physical disability of 8,500 Gazan children, 19,000 Gazan orphans with no parents to take care of them during this war, and lastly, the total of deaths of Palestinians is 28,000, total missing is 7,000, and total injured is 67,000.
Netanyahu said that the numbers are quoted by the lying Hamas terrorist animals government, and Biden even said he didn’t trust the numbers in the earlier days of this war.  On 2/24/2024, Biden’s and America’s spoke person John Kirby said that Netanyahu’s IDF are protecting civilians more than American soldiers would--Perhaps subconsciously the colonizing-settler hearts of John Kirby, Biden, and America consider the Gazans (Palestinians in Gaza) and the Palestinians in the West Bank as animals (rats) so they don’t fit in their definition of “civilians” to be qualified in their democracy protection of civilians in this war).  I am sure their Lord Jesus Christ would consider the Gazans, the Palestinians in the West Bank, and the Palestinians abroad as humans or civilians because Jesus himself was born in their homeland (historic Palestine in the last 400 years).  Jesus was born in the same location 2,000 years ago next to the mouth of black Africa (top right area of Africa where the skin shade is lighter than black, and more Muslim looking being next to Egypt).   I am sure your Lord Jesus as God’s son wouldn’t think he was an animal or a rat by being born in this Palestinian area 2,000 years ago to have such compassionate heart as a man to come up with such Godly words via God’s Christian door.  I am sure the science of all races and religions will confirm the Palestinians do fit the definition of human beings so they must be considered as be civilians in a war, too.  The internet via many news prominent websites and even Israeli news websites said behind the door Biden called Netanyahu “an a…hole” and “a bad f… guy.”  As an ethnic American, I, Trang, would consider these names are names for person who failed miserably in protecting civilians in this war through the action of his army called the IDF.  What do you think Kirby?
While us humanity mourns with Israel, Netanyahu, and his IDF for the highest Israeli deaths and injured in one day in terrorist attack or war of the last 20 years, we should also mourn Israeli’ enemies great loss too for this war kills both sides (Hamas initiated the war, and Israel pushed the buttons to throw out indiscriminate bombs), or else the Hamas and their young generation of international sympathizers won’t care.  This Israel-Hamas war killed the highest number of journalists in the last 30 years as stated by NPR in December, 2023 (around 120), and they are mostly Palestinian journalists.   U.N. lost the highest number of U.N. workers in a conflict (around 130) even though 12-13 U.N. workers are accused of being Hamas by Netanyahu out of 13,000 U.N. workers around the world.  Those Hamas-infected U.N. workers are probably regular Palestinians being hired by U.N. to work in Gaza and they got caught up in the Hamas movement and joined in, for U.N. condemned Israel for defying its internation laws for stealing more of Palestinian land in the West Bank (Israeli and American settlers) to be closer to Jesus’ birth town to rebuild this God’s Kingdom of theirs as stated in their Bible for I believe Bethlehem (Jesus’ birth town) is part of the West Bank which U.N.’s international law recognized as left-over land of the Palestinians after fighting dated back to the 70’s or 80’s.
Some Palestinian journalists in the heart of Gaza was told by their Palestinian refugee neighbors to shelter elsewhere because the IDF were sending rockets to explode the house(s) of the journalists with their entire families in it (their parents and their children).  Even your Margaret of Face the Nation in February 2024 interviewed a white-sounding American journalist who recently went into Gaza with IDF as his guides and he said he saw no Palestinians around (probably a newly created buffer zone between Gaza and Israel).  He told Margaret that he thanked all the courageous Palestinian journalists inside Gaza who risk their lives to send out reports and pictures of the true devastation of this war (Al Jazeera Muslim News is where you can get most of the pictures not shown in American news).  He said Netanyahu doesn’t allow any foreign journalists inside Gaza without his IDF’s strick supervision to document the destructions of his revenge.
In December 22nd, 2023, US Defense Secretary Austin said that 50% Israeli bombs are dirty bombs- dumb bombs, bombs missing targets, unnecessary bombs, wasteful bombs, bombs that could be used to help Ukraine for Ukraine didn’t steal land from Russian (Ukraine is not colonizing Russian land).  After 2.5 months of bombing in the dark with one eye closed, on KPFA radio with a self-hating American Jew as the host and his guest was a woman monitoring the war, the woman informed the audience that Netanyahu and IDF are asking Biden and America to send them slimer bombs--These free, free, and free obese American bombs that Biden and America donated were too too fat for anorexic Gaza to precisely strike the Hamas terrorist rats in tunnels are running and hiding underneath, next to, between civilian buildings, houses, hospitals, schools, churches, Mosques, etc.  Most importantly, Netanyahu and Biden might not know this, but an animal like me can see nearly 35-40% of Gaza has been flattened via satellite pictures to CONCLUDE the possibility of some high number of deaths of these Palestinian children who NEVER voted for the Hamas terrorist animals as their government in which who started this war with its colonizers (Israelis) for the severe Israel’s apartheid system as a democracy (with the wholeheartedly support of the great American democracy) that prevent some of the Gazan and West Bank children to see and get hugs from their grandparents, and get candies from their grandparents who live outside their assigned territories.  This Israel-Hamas war marked the first war in humanity (Yes, Israelis: the Palestinians, Gazans, and the Hamas terrorist animals fit the science definition as humans) to have children as 40% of the population in the war zone.  Furthermore, this war marked humanity’s first war where the war zone is surrounded by military fencing which prevented the children to flee; along with the smallest piece of war-zone land in the size of 42 km or 26 miles (twice the size of Washington D.C. where 700,000 Americans live) where 840,000 children inhabit; and perhaps even the first war where water was deliberated cut off for the children to drink, clean (washing hands after bathroom #2 regime which probably lead to the recent eruption the hepatitis A outbreak), and wash babies who just popped out in births.
The possibility of massive amount of dead Gazan children in South of Gaza (the last area where Israel hasn’t completely bombed out (the safe zone), but the bombing has begun already 2-3 days ago).
I, Trang, made an amateur theory that God punished the ancient Jews for nailing his son (Jesus) by killing 6 million poor Jews who never nailed Jesus as collective punishment in Hitler’s German Nazi closed-gas-warehouse-starvation camps for their ancestors’ sin.  Now, around 2,500 years later,  the descendants of the ancient Jews who nailed God’s son are demanding the back their ancient Jew ancestors’ land where God’s son Jesus was born by flaunting their Bible to rebuild this new God’s kingdom even at the cost of blood, deaths, and all land of historic Palestine (if possible, even though 75% has been already stolen, and currently stealing more in the West Bank with Israeli and American settlers conducting harassments, violence, and even kill Palestinians while stealing land, olive crops, and recently destroyed 40 baby olive trees from Palestinian farmers during the war.  Netanyahu called all these actions as “peace keeping actions” to prevent uprising of the Palestinians in their own West Bank territory).  Even though the Palestinians and their ancestors have been living historic Palestine (now Israel) for ONLY the last 400 years, the Hamas terrorist animals said they are fighting to defend the land where their Muhammad died and went to heaven.  One of the top Hamas terrorist animals who currently being hunted down in Gaza by Israel was one of the children whose parents were killed and kicked out of historic Palestine since 1947.  The Israelis claim the land was given to them by God, but God via the British only gave the Jews from the Nazi camps around 10-15% of historic Palestine land in 1945 when the British was first white colonizer that land/country.  Now after 75 years, Israelis own 75% and more of historic Palestine land thanks to the yearly welfare checks and bombs of 3.5 billion dollars of hard-earned tax money of the bananas of America (the finance commissioner of Israel proudly stated that Israel is not a “banana republic of America” on 2/5/2024 for Biden’s sanctions on 4 Israeli settlers as his effort to win votes.  Biden calmed the American bananas down by stating that he didn’t impose sanction on any “American” settlers in the West Bank).
What do you think God’s punishment would be for those Western “colonizer’s heart” countries, the Asian “colonizer’s heart” country called Japan, and the Hindu Asian country that forgot its painful British colonizing past called India who support Israel to steal more of Jesus birthland knowing that the ancestors of the Israelis nailed God’s son Jesus while they all sing, dance, and come out of their gay closets to celebrate their great civilized democracy of freedom, freedom, freedom, and equality for all by chanting the Jewish religious words of “all men are created equal” in America, Israel, Europe, and around the world?
Permanent ceasefire now and return all poor hostages of the Hamas and poor prisoners of Israel’s administrative detention with our God’s or Allah’s forgiving hearts for our lost enemies.  The Hamas terrorist government only leaves if the Israel democracy colonizing terrorist government of Netanyahu and his IDF leaves.  Thank heavens there are self-hating Jews in the West Bank, America, Europe, around the world, and perhaps even Israel to help the Gazans and the Palestinians to get their freedom, and most importantly to prevent a collective punishment which might involve them and their self-hating Jews children and grandchildren in a WWWIII as we old farts die off.  Palestine belongs to the young generation (all pro-Hamas protestors around the world are mostly young farts of all races while pro-Israel protestors are mostly old white-looking farts).  If the children of the Palestinians who were killed and got driven off their land since 1947 can create this pain on Israeli on October 7th, imagine what the surviving children in South of Gaza would do after we die if Netanyahu, his IDF, and Biden are allowed to flatten the last section in Gaza which started 2-3 days ago with American free, free, and free bombs.
Peace now to the Gazans, Israelis, Palestinians, and the world before God sprinkles us with nuclear bombs.  Take care suckers.  Off to prepare for a WWWIII if the human animals can’t wait for A.I. to do the job for God to kill off poor planet earth’s human cancer.
Tell your enemies that you care for the future of your innocent children, grandchildren, and race in this Holy land where Jesus was born, Muhammad died and went to heaven, and your ancient Jew ancestors lived 2,500 years ago so you are willing to take the first step of a permanent ceasefire and let’s release all hostages and administrative detention prisoners, and be BFF’s.

I live in Israel, I was in the south when it all started. I woke up at 6:30 in the morning from sirens. my bf and I went to the shelter, along with his family, two younger siblings ages 6 and 4.
from 6:30 to 12:00 we were constantly bombed.
we have never seen anything like this before. we were used to the rockets but not to this extreme. obviously we turned on the news.
we saw the footage of hamas terrorists entering Israel. at first we laughed it off thinking they were bold. we did not know the massacre that had happened in one of the bases near the border at this time- no one did.
then we saw them infiltrating cities, riding around towns and shooting at houses, cars, infiltrating homes. one of our friends who lives in Sderot, one of the cities that were attacked, was holed up in her shelter with her dog for hours.
then came footage of the party. 260 bodies. massacred, raped. gunned down. a girl from my old squad from the army was killed there.
footage of children, mothers, fathers, soldiers, elderly, and even non israeli/jewish people were taken hostage and killed.
meanwhile, we hear another article, of two young Israelis who were shot by an Egyptian police officer in Egypt. one of them was the brother of one of my friends and former soldier of mine.
the videos keep releasing, the evidence of their crimes that they keep filming and sharing with pride and glee. disgusting.
My bf has now been called back to the army, along with dear friends of mine. I have lost sleep over the horrors we have endured and witnessed over the past 4 days. Hamas's existence could have been wiped if it weren't for bad political choices of Israel.
I have lived here all my life, I have served in the army and I have seen the Palestinian people's struggles. but it is not at the hands of an army that defends its citizens, but the oppressive terrorist regimes that use the money they get from US to build tunnels, buy rockets, and most importantly, build the mansions in Qatar for all the big shots in Gaza/Palestine.
WE supply them with fuel when they needed it
WE let them entry into our borders so they can get work where in their territories there are none
WE give them money for construction and utility
WE give them medical help when none can be given there
we do what we can to protect ourselves, and even then show mercy.
the idf informs innocent Palestinian civilians before bombing a building that rockets have been fired from. we capture terrorists who crave our blood and give them fucking water and medical attention- and eventually a cushy prison life.
it's called the Israeli Defense Force for a fucking reason.
what has happened in the last 4 days has traumatized a nation.
all of you who are in support of this barbarism... you lost your minds.
you all live such cushy lives somewhere in fuck off nowhere near here. claim to not be swayed by "pro Israeli propaganda" yet have been force fed pro Palestinian and pro terrorist propaganda for years.
the hamas fucking hide near schools, mosques, and hospitals, just so that they can scream bloody murder when we are forced to bomb their hideouts- WHEN THEY ARE THE ONES PUTTING THOSE CIVILLIANS IN DANGER BY ACTIVELY CHOOSING TO HIDE THERE!
Israel is under attack, and it has always been under attack- and like always we will defend ourselves from these rapists and murderers.
I haven't slept since it all started- I have nightmares, I worry constantly. I am so tired. and I'm tired of hearing people around the world find pride in our suffering. we don't deserve this.
a rocket fell 5 meters from my bf's house. I cry every time I think about what could have happened if it was just a bit closer.
I am rambling, but these are my thoughts.
עם ישראל חיי
Do not forget, any body of power supported by an oppressive regime is going to get positive news coverage from that regime no matter what.
The "News Reporters" from imperialist governments, describing how the Hamas "Terrorist Organization" attacked Israel, are propaganda signals doing everything in their power to create noise, to obfuscate the transparent slaughter and apartheid taking place in Gaza. Civilians are being murdered, and historical sites and residential buildings are being destroyed by the government of Israel. The brave Hamas fighters are combating unbelievable odds to secure their freedom from an occupying force backed by the largest empire in the world.
Allah ma'akum to those fighting and giving their lives to see Palestine freed.

I’ve been thinking whether to write it or not. On one hand this is super important, on the other hand people don’t really care and I’ll probably get hate for it. But this has to be said and I’m gonna do it. This is really long but if you really want to understand what is happening in Israel right now- this is it
I live in Israel, and for the last 48 hours we have been under rapid missile attack. Hamas, which is a terror organization, have been shooting constantly at civilian cities and houses, while at the same time there have been various riots in mixed cities- by which i mean cities that have both Jewish and Islamic population- that in normal days live in co-existence. You have to understand a couple things right now before you come at me:
I don’t talk about high tension cities such as Jerusalem. This is Lod, Ramle, Jaffa and Haifa among others. Those are cities that truly are peaceful 90% of the time and I will talk about Jerusalem and Gaza so just stick with me.
THIS IS NOT A POST ABOUT WHOSE LIFE IS MORE IMPORTANT OR VALUABLE!! Living in Gaza sucks under normal circumstances but living in Sderot is not much better. There is no competition on misery and trust me as a person that actually live in Israel and knows what it’s like here on the day to day that we are well aware on how it’s like in Gaza.
this site REALLY likes to talk about experiences and how when you live through a unique event no one can talk for you about that because they don’t really know what its like. so right here right now it is my experience. You are welcome to ask follow up questions, you may send me a message to learn more or to disagree with a certain point. But if you don’t live here, even if you are from a neighbor country, then you don’t know what’s it like and i wish to god you will never know.
I don’t have all the articles right here with me, because most of the are in Hebrew and I’m writing this really quickly. So if there is interest I’ll give references and I’m really sorry for any typos here.
Here is a brief timeline of Monday, April 10. I’ll try to stick to as many events without being partial, and for contest there have been two major events on that day:
It is still Ramadan- which means that religious Muslims were on temple mount.
It was also Jerusalem day- which I have no idea how to translate but  celebrates the liberation of the Jewish people and the old city from the Jordan army, and is an Israeli holiday in which it is custom to go to Jerusalem so there were a lot of Jewish people at the Kotel.
There’s a neighborhood in eastern Jerusalem called Sheikh Jarrah, in which there is an ongoing legal fight over ownership and governance. On April 10 there wad supposed to be a sitting in court about evicting Arab familiars. It was decided to postpone because of the tension but there has been many rallys over the topic.
During the Ramadan there has been a lot of tension, so the Israeli police have declared that no Jewish person will get on temple mount at that day. it made people mad, since it is a sacred location for us as well, and some groups have threatened to climb anyway. As far as I know no Jew have managed to get there, since things escalated quickly. Like i said, this month was very tensed, and when the cops hears that the Muslims in Al-Aqsa Mosque were hoarding stones they have decided to go inside. this was at about 08:30-09:00 AM. Since the mosque is right above the kotel this was very worrying but during the chaos there have been injuries- 21 cops and dozens of Palestinians. Stun grenades and stones.   Hamas have given an ultimatum- either the cops get off the mountain by 18:00 or they shoot rockets at Jerusalem, which at the time is filled with as much Muslims as Jews. During the day there have been terror attacks against Jews that came to the city for celebrations and for the flag parade that was planned to start at 16:00 and to end at the kotel. there was a lynch against 3 Jews at sha’ar ha’ariot (lion gate. a lynch that was depicted by the media as the drivers’ fault and as a running over. the truth is that the driver tried to escape the stoning, hit a cement half wall and continued to be hit until a cop came to his rescue) and a 7 month old girl was hit at the head by stones.
by 18:00 Hamas fired 3 barrages toward Jerusalem. And this is the part when i can tell you first-hand. because I was there, because I could not believe that they will shoot at their own people. There were SO MANY PEOPLE at the time from BOTH SIDES. this is a precedent- until then every single shooting was aimed at Jewish city and never at Muslims.
HAMAS SHOOT AT CIVILIANS IN JERUSALEM, A CITY THAT IS CONSIDERS HOLY FOR EVERYONE, DURING THEIR OWN HOLIDAY. THEY SHOT MISSILES AT A CITY IN WHICH MUSLIM ARABS LIVE. THEY SHOT BECAUSE THE POLICE WERE TRYING TO STOP MUSLIMS FROM THROWING ROCKS AT JEWISH PEOPLE WHO DIDN’T EVEN TRY TO GET ON TEMPLE MOUNT. AND YOU KNOW WHAT THE WORST THING IS? THE FACT THAT INTERNATIONAL NEWS IMMEDIATELY STARTED BLAMING THE ISRAELI GOVERNMENT AND POLICE AND COMPLETELY REMOVED ANY RESPONSIBILITY FROM HAMAS AND THE GOVERNMENT IN GAZA. It’s so so easy to blame Israel because Israel is more organized, because our government, while being mostly useless in the last year since we had 5 elections, is built by the peoples’ choice and not by fear, because Gaza is an underdog and we feel for the underdog- and for good reasons. Do not think for a moment that we don’t feel sorry for the people in Gaza. They live under a terrible government that cares more for the Palestinian agenda than their civilians, most Shekels that the Israeli government is transferring won’t reach the people and instead will be taken by Hamas to build bombs, guns, and tunnels. Hamas needs the people to stay underdogs. They will use them as human shields for as long as it gets them sympathy, they will take every opportunity they have to blame Israel and the media is giving them exactly what they want every single time- even Israeli media will twist facts and stories to sound more progressive and ‘woke’ and politically correct. so here are facts for all of you
while it makes me sound like a five year old it’s still true that this time Hamas shot first and unsolicited.
every country that has missiles shot at will, and has the right, to defend itself.
is it okay for civilian casualty? NO. Absolutely no. But don’t any of you dare to use that as a reason for Israeli cruelty. Hamas have sot over 1,000 rockets in the last 48 hours. IDF has attacked about a 150 locations. Hamas is shooting wildly at cities and homes without care who they hit. IDF is targeting senior Hamas figures only. Hamas is shooting from homes and streets. every IDF base that has weapons in will be located outside of civilian location.
IDF is using the “Roof knocking“ technique, and has been using for years. for those who don’t know it- IAF is dropping a non-explosive bomb- a smoke bomb that makes some noise- on top of any location they will hit to inform every single person inside that they need to get out. Only after a few minutes’ waiting will they hit for real. When Hamas is telling us when they will shoot it’s nothing like that. They don’t warn-they threat.
6 Israeli people have died so far. 2 of them were Muslim Arab-Israeli. They do not care who they hit.
the people in mixed cities have been rioting nearly nonstop for 48 hours now while attacking their neighbors, while burning synagogues, cars, homes and restaurants. One of my best friends lives in Lod. they have curfew from 20:00 today until 04:00 tomorrow. Her situations terrifies me more than any bomb because those are people who lived there for years.
not every Muslim and Arab is to blame, and blaming everyone is wrong. BUT ignoring what is happening right now is naive. Do not be blind and do not believe every single thing the media tells you. There are countless videos were Arabs fake death. where they dress as soldiers to fake scenes, where they openly teach their children hate and where their leaders openly lie on live television and get caught.
most of the time people lie because they really believe it, but that only serves the disinformation. Sometimes good intentions only cause more pain and hate.
Israel is not without blame. no one is without blame because life is not a book- there are no 100% good people and a 100% bad people. Life is complicated and so are people and political situations. You have to criticize your sources, and if they paint one side as good and one as bad then you should stop reading them. there are Israeli extremists as well, and far-right movements scare me as much as any Arab riots but no one is working in a vacuum.
the numbers are very different for many reasons. The death and casualties in Gaza is larger for many reasons, but I’ll focus on the most important ones. first, the IDF is more organized and so their bombs are stronger and more advanced. Second, Hamas is intentionally stationed in neighborhoods, schools and hospitals for human shields. third, Israel is using everything they can to protect its’ citizens and pays fortune on Iron Domes. Hamas does nothing to protect the people, and they have the money for that if they wanted since the receive money from Israel, the UN, and various different NGOs. If you don’t bother to protect your own how can you blame others? when people in Israel get hurt because they don’t have shelter they blame our own government.
right now everything here is a mess, and people from outside do not help when they only spread rumors and hate. You don’t live here? you have no clue what is happening. pray for all of us, but first educate your self and read more than one source of news for god sake. If you want the full picture you must read right-side news AND left-side news. Try to understand what is true, try to understand what is an exaggeration, try to understand what both sides are experiencing and don’t just assume that you are the smartest, most educated person just because you support the ‘right’ side. There is no right side. Only A side. So try to stand with us. Stand with Israel and have as much compassion for us as you have for Gaza. We are heading toward a civil war that will not hurt only one side, we have been living like that for years so trust me when i tell you that everyone is tired of how things are. We want peace but we don’t really see it happening anytime soon.
and for the love of god, don’t just send hate. I care about opinions, i want to think about stuff that i haven’t mentioned and to learn from others. Hate comments will not help either of us and will only keep us where we are now, and you trying to hurt me will honestly achieve nothing and will be kinda boring. Sorry for being so blunt but it’s the truth.

With everything happening to Israel, I hope you’re ok
thank you :D i’m fortunately mostly safe from what’s happening. i only had a siren once and heard the booms only several times and i don’t live near the areas where the riots and lynches are happening.
here is my rant about the situation
sadly, though, i do have to read a lot of posts from ignorant people who clearly haven’t done any research into the situation (i.e. don’t live in it, didn’t watch the israeli news, or plain just believes whatever pallywood posts). i don’t have much influence sadly but i have to make things clear to people who might be confused - the situation began because of people unbelieving that they live in a society and do, in fact, have to act like it. it started in six houses where the residents were evicted because they weren’t paying rent for decades despite the agreements and somehow they turned it into a international thing. then rioters were throwing rocks from the mosque and running into it when the soldiers came and were like ‘how dare they go into a holy place’ while they cowardly threw rocks from a mosque* on ramadaan like, wow, talk about desecrating a holy place.
and ofc the whole hamas shooting thousands of rockets into israel, with a third of its rockets landing in gaza killing many gazans. idf attacking high profile hamas operators and warning citizens of the buildings they were going to bomb because what a surprise, hamas hides behind its citizens and then blames it on israel. we literally have a history of giving medical treatment to gazans, i don’t know how else to tell people that we give a crap. because we could have literally erased gaza from the earth. also the reason they dont have electricity? one of the rockets hit the power line. karma is a bitch but sadly it harms the citizens more than the actual bastards in hamas. btw, those rockets? those tunnels that they built to get into israel? all those villas to the leaders? where do you think the money came from? they came from all the money that was given for the citizens. the citizens saw none of it.
also, anyone calling gaza an open air prison is an idiot who never opened an atlas because they think all gaza’s borders are in israel.
well, boo boo, wrong! its southern border is with *drums roll* egypt. which, btw, actually blocks the border from anything. so, like, once again, israel gets the heat for being pushovers, great.
we had sadly jews attacking and lynching on arabs and that something that should never have happened and i’ll never be happy that those things happened. but it didn’t happen in a bubble. it wasn’t also the only kind of attacks that happened. arabs attacking and lynching on cars, on people. they burned down synagogues! they burned down holy places with torah scrolls that were destroyed and the pictures literally look like the  Kristallnacht in 1938. one time, an arab saw it happening and managed to save the torah scrolls and omg, what an amazing guy. but still, so many holy scriptures were burnt and destroyed. the images are horrifying and i’m crying by just remembering. because israel is supposed to be the place jews would feel safe finally. we were supposed to be safe from progroms, from lynching, from our holy places being treated like firewood.
you have the right extremities attacking arabs, and you have jews unable to decide if they should stay at their homes during a siren and risk being hit by a rocket or brave the mamad (bunker) with their arab neighbors that are suddenly hostile to the point of attacking.
israel was never perfect. we have so much to improve and racism is still an issue. but also remember that we are less than 75 years old. it took the usa over 200 years to even begin to deal with its racism. we had to deal with so many wars just to exist and we don’t have the benefit of the sea as a barrier. you can literally drive down south and suddenly find yourself in jordan.
but the fact that the world immediately decided that we’re the bad guys no matter how much we strive to do good and for peace despite everyone wanting us gone (not in a different state, gone. dead. in the goddamn sea.).
the world is treating the palestinians like little babies who can do no harm. i hate to break it to them, but they can and did do a whole lot of harm. a lot of israeli arabs have helped israeli jews in so many cases in the past and present. a lot of medical professionals are arabs. they came to help after the tragedy in meron mountain. a lot of amazing stories of them being kind and true brethren. a lot of stories of co-existing. but they were literally crumbled down to nothing when suddenly the mixed cities began exploding with lynches and attacks and just pure terror. bedouins blocking one of the main roads to be’er sheba. electricity boxes being destroyed, leaving many people (mainly israeli jews) without it and no batteries or internet
i’m ranting now because if i have to read another post crying over palestinians children being harmed and then sneering at israeli people for existing and wishing for their deaths, i will literally go to them to shoot their legs myself (don’t know how, but i will) because children are already showing signs of extreme ptsd, of anxiety. the south (especially the area around the border with gaza) had been dealing with constant rockets for 20 years. children grow up so traumatized they can’t be soldiers because the sound of a gun going off sends them into a panic attack.
like, the usa is asking israel and hamas to have a cease fire, but it keeps basically looking at israel to back down and i’m so in the mood to say ‘no. i say, get the citizens out and just raze the place down’ even if it’s impossible to actively do. i’m done with sjw thinking they’re so woke and amazing for supporting the palestinians while they’re actually supporting the destruction of israel over all and the jews in particular.
because guess what? antisemitism have never been more in fashion.
(i’m sorry for going off on an adorable anon wanting to see me safe, but thank you for letting me go off like that. i needed to rant. also, anyone spreading hate should be ashamed)
p.s. anyone wanting to rant about apartheid or occupied territory, go open a dictionary or a history book on what actual apartheid is and then go check the archeological evidence of jews having occupied the land of israel before islam was a thing and even before christianity was a thing. especially how the dome of the rock was built on the temple mount. on top of what used to be the holy temples for the jews. you also always had jews living in israel in small numbers. we were never truly gone from the land of israel.
p.s.s. a good video i found that summarizes mostly well is ‘geography now-israel’. it’s not perfect but it gets the point across.

Review - Wonder Woman (2017)
TL;DR: Wonder Woman is good. It has problems. See it, and discuss the problems. Also, airplanes.
Tumblr media
Wonder Woman (2017) is a good film. If you haven’t seen it yet, you should. (Trailer)
Wonder Woman is an important film. Women led and directed it. The character is a feminist icon and welcome change from ongoing male dominance of the superhero genre, at least on the big screen (can’t comment on comics).
Wonder Woman is a long film. At just over 140 minutes runtime it never drags, but evening theatergoers may be shocked at the lateness of the hour when they exit, as I was last night.
Now for some rambling thoughts (mild spoilers ahead).
Tumblr media
Wonder Woman is set in the waning days of World War I, a change from her Second World War origins that initially gave me pause. The mainstream moral authority of the Allies in WWII has its complexities, yet they pale in comparison to the more prominent clash of competitive imperialism a couple decades earlier. But Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), aka Diana Prince, is a superhero. Her joining the Allies is a foregone conclusion, and my apprehensions were almost immediately justified (and remained so almost to the very end) when downed pilot Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) calls himself “a good guy” and points at the Germans on the beach as “the bad guys.” Then he explains how the Ottoman Empire is keeping the Kaiser supplied with munitions, so now the faceless, menacing Turks join the evil German monolith. WWII at least had Nazis to punch, but you can’t read All Quiet on the Western Front and come away feeling the German Army in WWI was total evil.
Then again, maybe you can. Rows of women sitting behind me fucking applauded and cheered as Diana cut swaths through German infantrymen. Never mind that some of them were undoubtedly conscripts, never mind that a German soldier was as patriotic as a Brit or Frenchman, never mind that war is hell and both sides learned that quickly. I can’t believe I’m praising this aspect of Captain America: The First Avenger, but at least Red Skull’s Hydra soldiers were basically Star Wars Stormtroopers circa Original Trilogy: totally made up and combat ineffective. It didn’t matter how many Hydras Steve Rogers and his Brooklyn Boy Band killed, because they were Bad Guys™ and also usually faceless behind masks. But they chose to set Wonder Woman in the actual fighting of WWI, not Marvel’s faux war within (and beyond) a war, and wanton slaughter is rarely a point of satisfaction in the far-from-perfect Hollywood war genre. I certainly never cheered as Tom Hanks’s unit outflanked and suppressed German bunkers in Saving Private Ryan, or when Japanese defenders repeatedly ambushed Marines in Letters from Iwo Jima. Yet we’re supposed to feel inspired by Wonder Woman singlehandedly disposing of fifty poor German boys because she looks good doing it?
Of relevance: The PG-13 rating (and associated lack of gore and violence you might expect from a dedicated WWI period piece) may contribute to some viewers’ lack of empathy for the wounded or dead. I’m not saying Wonder Woman should have been an R-rated war flick, because 1) that’s not what it was ever going to be, and 2) the audience most urgently needing this movie is young girls, so the more accessible the better. But the end result is still a fairly tame view of Western Front conditions. And the lack of blood from Diana cutting her way through German squads with a sword is desensitizing and immersion-breaking.
Also of relevance: Diana at one point accuses a Scottish sniper (Ewen Bremner)—and more general practitioners of fighting from a distance, e.g., artillery—of fighting without honor because they do not necessarily see those they kill (or, in the case of generals and other REMFs, those they send off to die). There’s a lot to unpack here. The Amazons are a warrior society that worships leading from the front. An obvious drawback to that is when General Antiope dies on the beach: The Amazons lose their top commander (among others) in a skirmish to a small bunch of German sailors. Considering the qualitative and quantitative differences, that is not a favorable exchange ratio. Beyond that, snipers (like drone pilots) arguably see their targets in a much more intimate fashion than any other soldier does, thanks to their scopes (or camera turrets) and the long periods of observation that can precede pulling the trigger. We’ll cut Diana some slack because the Amazons have no concept of ranged warfare beyond the bow, but the notion of “honor” is also complicated. Michael Moore and others have voiced their hatred for snipers as cowards, as if war is a gentleman’s duel. Ethics in war usually applies to noncombatants and enemies who surrender: Those, in other words, who aren’t fighting you, are vulnerable, and have been found throughout history to merit protection. Killing them is cowardly, a point Diana also makes, but killing enemy combatants isn’t. If it were, what “honor” exists in racking up body counts against foes that cannot physically harm you? A sniper hides, a demigod is, well, a demigod, both are practically immune from preventative counters or immediate retaliation. Whither honor, Diana?
Diana’s concern for civilians hit by indiscriminate weapons like artillery and gas is curious in light of Gadot’s compulsory service in the IDF and support for Israel’s bloody 2014 Gaza campaign. This deserves more attention than I or anyone will give it, and I apologize for a level of compassion fatigue those in Gaza, Jordan, and the West Bank surely recognize all too well. Fans are forced to choose between a white feminist cinematic triumph and a marginalized and oppressed community (that this is a conundrum itself speaks volumes), no one wants to tackle Israel-Palestine on top of misogyny, and those sympathetic to Palestinians are losing the PR fight. It shouldn’t be a binary solution set: I gladly join the chorus hailing the film as an important cultural touchstone, and I embrace criticizing Gadot for her support of apartheid, occupation, and, ironically, civilian casualties, especially as she somehow manages not to choke on lines like “I’m willing to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves” or “only love can truly save the world.” Again, when Israeli fighters bomb hospitals, whither honor?
The above point also touches on larger intersectionality concerns that I’ll let other takes explain.
Captain America aside: Like The First Avenger, Wonder Woman is an origin story about a gorgeous, invincible hero fighting the Germans for the Americans in Europe that ends on a multi-engined doomsday-device-carrying German bomber—hijacked on a suicide mission to save the day by a guy named Steve!
Tumblr media
Back to WWI: I was fully prepared to write this movie off as “The Western Allies are good, the Central Powers and Turks are evil, and justice wins in the end.”  But Trevor neatly resolved my qualms in a short monologue while trying to convince a disillusioned Diana to keep helping him. Can’t find it online yet, but it goes something like “Maybe we’re all at fault! Maybe none of us deserve saving!” Diana gradually realizes that humans don’t need the malign influence of Ares, the Greek God of War and primary antagonist, to keep fighting and killing each other, that WWI was never divisible into “good” and “bad guys,” and this is after Chief (Eugene Brave Rock) the Blackfoot character’s almost throwaway line that Trevor’s people drove his off their land “in the last war.” Before those moments, Wonder Woman’s WWI setting was terrible; after them, it was at worst imperfect, a hit-and-miss attempt to address violence as a human phenomenon waged by problematic protagonists. I wish they’d addressed that earlier and more inclusively (the Germans and Turks still resonate as one-dimensional “bad guys”), but I’m impressed at how centrally and effectively that message played out in the end.
The WWI setting brings us to the level of realism, continuity, and historical accuracy, oft-losing propositions for Hollywood in general at the best of times that tend to fare even worse in the superhero genre. To this day I will not forgive Marvel for its patently ridiculous modern-day helicarriers. But Wonder Woman misses the mark by less than I feared. Here’s what I was able to catch in one viewing:
The Fokker Eindecker that Trevor flies to escape from Ottoman Turkey was the first operational fighter with a gun synchronized to shoot through the spinning propeller, allowing fixed guns on the centerline for improved accuracy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eindeckers were deployed in the Middle East between 1916 and 1917, though they were mostly replaced by Fokker D.7’s when Wonder Woman rolls around a year a later. Still, props (get it?) to the movie for spotlighting a lesser film star and not the cinematically overused Camels and triplanes.
Note that Trevor escaped from Turkey in a light aircraft with a top speed of 76 knots and endurance under two hours. Even assuming a generous range of 200 miles from the Turkish coast, he can only splash down in the Black Sea or eastern Mediterranean, a rough clue to the location of the edge of Themyscira’s shield barrier. Then he and Diana take a small single-masted sailing vessel from there to London, a voyage of nearly 3,000 miles depending on where he crashed.
Tumblr media
The internet speculates that Themyscira may not exist on our temporal or spatial plane and therefore lacks a permanent location. This 1) could mean the island was closer to the UK when the two set out by boat, and 2) accounts for the island’s obscurity in a heavily trafficked area until Trevor’s fighter and the pursuing German warship blundered into it. Still, you’d think Zeus could have done better than a shield blocking only visible light.
Speaking of that warship, the ensuing beach battle has holes. The novelization disposes of the Kriegsmarine surface combatant on a coral reef, and I do recall wondering why the ship seems to roll and rise at an angle in the background at one point, but this was only a few frames and barely registered on my fellow viewers. Then its rowboats hit the beach in a horrifying demonstration of what happens when technological superiority is overwhelmed by the numerical variety. Passages came to mind from The Gun by CJ Chivers about the use of rapid-fire Maxim and Gatling guns against native tribes in European colonies, specifically the change in outcome when those guns jammed and a handful of soldiers confronted tribal human waves with muskets, bayonets, and bare hands. Similarly, the German riflemen open fire to deadly effect, but the Amazons overwhelm their rate of fire with a frontal cavalry charge. It doesn’t hurt that the Amazons are Made in Olympus, pursue a ridiculous fitness and training regimen, and fight like badasses.
Tumblr media
But they don’t confront Trevor until after the Germans are slain, though he wears a German disguise and grabs a rifle from a sailor in the melee. He is an armed male intruder, and only Diana recognizes his actions as friendly, yet he isn’t killed in the confusion or even threatened at sword- or bow-point afterward.
Speaking of swords, bows, and horses, the Amazon way of war could be much more effective if they emerged a century or even half a century earlier, in the heyday of post-Napoleonic fighting. Queen Hippolyta’s claim that they have nothing to fear while hiding in paradise already failed as an argument to shelter Diana from training; unexamined is what that level of sheltering applied to Amazon society as a whole portends if and when Themyscira finds itself exposed to an ever-advancing outside world. If Diana had come out a quarter century later, she would have confronted heavier and more destructive weapons probably beyond the protective envelope of her shield (unless it’s vibranium, though Wikipedia says an indestructible goat hide, which I like even more) and wrist/ankle bracelets. Her run through No Man’s Land was remarkably devoid of shrapnel, explosives, and weapons fire despite the whole trench line of German regulars shooting at an upright target, and she was stopped cold by machine-gun nests: Imagine 88mm shells from a line of King Tigers or 500lb bombs from diving Stukas.
Tumblr media
She may be a rapid-healing demigod immune to poison gas, but we also see her bleed and block bullets rather than take them. Modern weaponry can hurt and even kill her. And I haven’t even mentioned nukes.
Back to rivet counting: I can’t find any good images yet of the large German bomber from the climactic scene, but it appears to be a fictional version of the so-called Riesenflugzeug or “giant aircraft” bombers produced by Zeppelin-Staaken.
Tumblr media
Like the historical Zeppelin-Staaken R.VI, the movie version appears to have four engines (one Giant was even fitted with a fifth in the nose), but the movie plane has them arranged in four separate forward-facing engine nacelles. The R.VI by contrast had twin-engine pairs with one “pusher” and one “puller” propeller each. I’ll probably also come back to this once that scene is posted online.
The tank whose tracks are used to restrain Wonder Woman at the climax seemed to have the rhomboid shape of a British heavy tank, though the setting is a German-held airfield.
Tumblr media
The Germans captured a number of British heavy tanks of various marks and genders, so perhaps this is a pre-owned model. Again, I’ll be better able to confirm that once the scene is uploaded.
Poison gas is the movie’s most salient and best-realized WWI characteristic.
That about does it for first-runthrough nitpicking (IMDB has more on wristwatches and trouser zippers).
Tumblr media
Oh, Rupert Gregson-Williams’s soundtrack is typical superhero fare that didn’t leave much of an impression, but the end credits piece before Sia’s single sounded awful familiar. I later thought I heard elements of Jeremy Soule’s Supreme Commander and Forged Alliance, Ramin Djawadi’s Pacific Rim, and Tom Holkenborg’s Mad Max: Fury Road OSTs, but maybe that’s just me.

World Diabetes Day 2011 + Awareness Month = Almost Here!
New Post has been published on http://type2diabetestreatment.net/diabetes-mellitus/world-diabetes-day-2011-awareness-month-almost-here/
World Diabetes Day 2011 + Awareness Month = Almost Here!
November is nearly upon us, which means the biggest month in diabetes advocacy is about to begin! As most of you know, November is National Diabetes Awareness Month, and don't forget to circle Nov. 14 in blue — that's World Diabetes Day.
World Diabetes Day was launched unofficially in the mid-1980s by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), and then was crystalized in 2007 when a UN Resolution was passed, acknowledging diabetes as a global epidemic and crisis. It is the only noncommunicable disease to be recognized with a UN Resolution, so Nov. 14 is a big deal!
The IDF is encouraging everyone to get involved at a local level, with lighting up monuments in blue and some really fun stuff, like organizing a flash mob in your city or town.
Bottom line: there are loads of opportunities for getting involved in this year's awareness campaigns around the country and around the world, so no matter where you are, there's something for you to do. Here are a few noteworthy campaigns:
WDD Monument Challenge
Every year, hundreds of monuments around the world are lit up in blue to spark diabetes awareness. Kudos to the IDF for getting this global glow campaign rolling! It is amazing to watch, and this year, there are over 900 monuments currently scheduled to go blue on Nov. 14.
Is there one near you? If so, make sure to take a picture and send it to the IDF so they can include it in their awe-inspiring Flickr gallery.
Get Behind the Blue Circle Campaign!
Our feeling here at the 'Mine — congealed by talks with other DOC leaders at the Roche Diabetes Social Media Summit this summer — is that a huge priority for diabetes awareness ought to be uniting the various advocacy organizations in this country behind a SINGLE, RECOGNIZABLE ICON.
That is, if we ever want to achieve anything close to the national attention breast cancer has managed, the diabetes patient population needs to stand up and make their voices heard that the various advocacy organizations in this country need to work together better — starting with the adoption of one recognizable icon.
So we're kicking off a campaign to help everyone who cares about diabetes advocacy easily speak out to the American Diabetes Association (ADA), the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), and the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) and ask them to please get behind the Blue Circle as THE international symbol of diabetes.
The campaign will be based at the DiabeticConnect.com community site, and will provide ready-made postcards that you can easily print out and send to these three major U.S. organizations representing diabetes patients. There will also be an online petition to sign, and we're shooting for thousands of signatures.
We'll have more details next week, and also lovely badges to post so you can show your support (see above). Only with your help can we be united under the Blue Circle!
WDD Blue Fridays
Most awareness campaigns ask people to wear a particular color on a single day of the year (like red on Feb. 1 for Heart Awareness Day). But in November, you're encouraged to wear blue on all four Fridays of the month. WDD Blue Fridays was launched by founder of Diabetes Social Media Advocacy Cherise Shockley. She writes:
"Blue Fridays is an initiative to bring attention to World Diabetes Day, and to advocate and bring awareness for diabetes and the people living with it. Diabetes is more than a national issue; it's a world epidemic. This year, I want to rally the diabetes community... by asking people to wear blue every Friday during the month of November and on World Diabetes Day (November 14). Please help spread the word."
Check out this very creative promo video for the Wear Blue campaign, with a lot of familiar DOC faces!

Big Blue Test
Returning for its 3rd year, the Big Blue Test was founded by Manny Hernandez and the team at the Diabetes Hands Foundation. It's a great big "global test-in" in which PWDs from all over the world are asked to share their BG numbers online.
But the team is switching things up this year: instead of having everyone participate at 2pm local time (14:00 hours) on Nov. 14, they're asking people to participate sometime between Nov. 1 and Nov. 14 by testing your blood sugar, exercising for 14 minutes, testing again, and then recording your BG result on the website, above.
For each person who participates in the Big Blue Test, Roche Diabetes Care will again donate to an international diabetes charity to help a person with diabetes who's in need. The official campaign video for this year's Big Blue Test goes live on Nov. 1, but check out this sneak peek trailer:

WDD Postcard Exchange
Another grassroots campaign comes from diabetes blogger and art therapist extraordinaire Lee Ann Thill, who is back with another art project to bring the diabetes community together. The WDD Postcard Exchange invites everyone — type 1s, type 2s, spouses, family and friends — to participate in a global postcard exchange. Seriously, who doesn't love to get something arriving at their doorstep via "snail mail"?!
The way it works is that folks send in their mailing address to Lee Ann, who is taking on the colossal task of pairing everyone up. Participants are asked to create a 3.5" x 5" postcard, use the blue circle somewhere in the picture you create, provide answers to a few questions, and then mail it off! As of last week, the WDD Postcard Exchange had 300+ participants from all the inhabited continents: North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, and finally, South America.
Wow! Allison and I have both signed up to participate and we can't wait to see who we're matched with!
T1 Day
From the Big Guns: JDRF is doing something new this year. They're kicking off National Diabetes Awareness Month on Nov. 1 with the first-ever "type 1 diabetes awareness day" program, appropriately called T1 Day.
The day seems to be focused around media outreach — to educate the press about type 1 diabetes — and fundraising for JDRF itself. The list of activities includes:
Visible presence on a number of national media outlets announcing T1Day
A "major announcement from JDRF, which better emphasizes our focus on type 1 diabetes"
Encouraging people to set up their own T1Day fundraising campaign pages, to solicit donations in honor of T1Day
Urging more advocates to sign the petition to the FDA asking them to issue guidance for artificial pancreas technology advances to better treat and potentially cure type 1 diabetes (JDRF's been circulating this for a while, with great success!)
JDRF will be tweeting and updating Facebook at one minute past the hour throughout the day on Nov. 1 , "to raise awareness of type 1 diabetes"
And "much more, throughout the month of November..."
The big news being announced by JDRF will be its new branding, which CEO Jeffrey Brewer also hinted at this summer at the Diabetes Social Media Summit, that will reflect JDRF's newfound commitment not just to the cure, but also to technology that can help people live well with diabetes now (like the Artificial Pancreas). So we're excited to see how they'll present this new messaging.
Plus, the JDRF New York City Chapter is asking folks to come to the Today Show studio on Nov. 1 at 5 am wearing blue to raise awareness for diabetes. We actually thought this choice of date was a little peculiar. Wouldn't it be better to do this on Nov. 14 — World Diabetes Day — than on Nov. 1 for T1 Day, which no one has ever heard of? Seems a little strange to announce a major branding change while also appearing on national TV for an awareness day that your organization just invented... while a major, established international awareness day for the same cause is happening just a few weeks later. Won't they be stealing the thunder of WDD on Nov. 14?
Reps at JDRF say, "The whole month of November is dedicated to diabetes awareness, so why not kick off the 1st of the month with a day dedicated to type 1 diabetes?" We're certainly all for diabetes advocacy and awareness, we just thought this was an unusual choice for such a big media spotlight, given the struggle for recognition of WDD. Anyway, if you're interested in being part of the Today Show crowd on Nov. 1 crowd, email JDRF to let them know you'll be there.
Surprisingly, not much else seems to be planned for World Diabetes Day in NYC - if you know of something let us know
San Francisco Flash Mob
Speaking of local events, though, San Francisco has finally gotten its act together for a World Diabetes Day spectacular, thanks to Close Concerns, the Diabetes Hands Foundation, and the JDRF Bay Area Chapter! The city's famous Union Square will be lit up in blue! The festivities will include include inspirational talks, celebrity guests, ice skating, refreshments, music, dancing, kids arts and crafts, a diabetes resource fair and...
the attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the THE LARGEST HULA HOOPING ACTIVITY EVER!
We need 114 people to set a new record for simultaneous hula hooping in the name of global awareness for diabetes (blue hoops!). If you are interested in joining us in Northern CA, please RSVP so we can get a head count. This event is free!
If you're looking for something in your own area, IDF is publishing this list of activities all around the world. Check out what's up, or submit your own event! Via la DAAs! (Diabetes Awareness Activities!)
