it surprised the hell out of me when i was younger learning that hardcore christians generally hated shit like harry potter and video games, since the one person im directly related to who was like, HardCore into that christian borderline christofascist shit was my grandma on my dad's side, and she loved harry potter shit and had the biggest physical game collection out of anybody ive personally known (which, to be fair, was mostly nintendo shit, which is probably the easiest kinda videogame for a puritan to get into).

side note but one of my favorite stories about my dad is how he kissed one of his guy friends in front of her to piss her off. to the best of my knowledge, he's straight, so he's just that cool i guess (joking)
