Knitting a sock.... trying something wild and knitting 5.25 inches before starting the gusset (I've been very slowly learning how long my sock feet should be...started at 3.25 inches lol). I did originally do 4.25 and got most of the way thru the gusset before trying it on and there was slack in the foot where the gusset was. My last pair (4.25 inch foot length) fit well I thought aside from the fact that I forgot to reinforce the heel so it slips. Maybe it's my gauge ? I'm knitting these on US 5s; it's a very thick sock yarn. Anyway, we'll see !

Also, first day back to work since starting the new pain meds. I definitely feel slower.

My one pet peeve on people with Alastor, and its honestly such a fucking silly thing to just be disappointed in people for, but I can't help it. My family is from Louisiana. I grew up on gumbo and jambalaya. My daddy had to take language classes on Louisiana French when he was in high school because it was a requirement as the language is dying.

So the pet peeve?

Alastor knowing French.

Louisiana French Creole / Louisiana French / Louisiana Creole is not exactly French. It is a French Creole, so it has similarities, but a Creole language is not same thing as the languages that make it up. So Alastor wouldn't know French but he might understand French if someone spoke it, although it'd be weird to hear. He'd know Louisiana French Creole...and you can find dictionaries for Louisiana French Creole and lessons on how to speak it so you know how to conjugate it on the internet easily.

For example in French cat is chat.

In Louisiana French Creole cat is shá.

...I like languages, ok? Like I said, its a silly thing to be disappointed over, and I know ya'll love the character and that's why ya'll drag in the French cuz Louisiana and New Orleans and the French Quarter and I get it. I do.
