When Microsoft named its new Windows feature Recall, the company intended the word to refer to a kind of perfect, AI-enabled memory for your device. Today, the other, unintended definition of “recall”—a company's admission that a product is too dangerous or defective to be left on the market in its current form—seems more appropriate.

On Friday, Microsoft announced that it would be making multiple dramatic changes to its rollout of its Recall feature, making it an opt-in feature in the Copilot+ compatible versions of Windows where it had previously been turned on by default, and introducing new security measures designed to better keep data encrypted and require authentication to access Recall's stored data.

“We are updating the set-up experience of Copilot+ PCs to give people a clearer choice to opt-in to saving snapshots using Recall,” reads a blog post from Pavan Davuluri, Microsoft's corporate vice president for Windows and devices. “If you don’t proactively choose to turn it on, it will be off by default.”

The changes come amid a mounting barrage of criticism from the security and privacy community, which has described Recall—which silently stores a screenshot of the user's activity every five seconds as fodder for AI analysis—as a gift to hackers: essentially unrequested, preinstalled spyware built into new Windows computers.

In the preview versions of Recall, that screenshot data, complete with the user's every bank login, password, and porn site visit would have been indefinitely collected on the user's machine by default. And though that highly sensitive data is stored locally on the user's machine and not uploaded to the cloud, cybersecurity experts have warned that it all remains accessible to any hacker who so much as gains a temporary foothold on a user's Recall-enabled device, giving them a long-term panopticon view of the victim's digital life.

"It makes your security very fragile,” as Dave Aitel, a former NSA hacker and founder of security firm Immunity, described it—more charitably than some others—to WIRED earlier this week. “Anyone who penetrates your computer for even a second can get your whole history. Which is not something people want.”

In addition to making Recall an opt-in feature, Microsoft’s Davuluri also writes that the company will make changes to better safeguard the data Recall collects and more closely police who can turn it on, requiring that users prove their identity via its Microsoft Hello authentication function any time they either enable Recall or access its data, which can require a PIN or biometric check of the user’s face or thumbprint. Davuluri says Recall’s data will remain encrypted in storage until the user authenticates.

All of that is a “great improvement,” says Jake Williams, another former NSA hacker who now serves as VP of R&D at the cybersecurity consultancy Hunter Strategy, where he says he's been asked by some of the firm's clients to test Recall's security before they add Microsoft devices that use it to their networks. But Williams still sees serious risks in Recall, even in its latest form.

Many users will turn on Recall, he points out, partly due to Microsoft’s high-profile marketing of the feature. And when they do, they’ll still face plenty of unresolved privacy problems, from domestic abusers that often demand partners give up their PINs to subpoenas or lawsuits that compel them to turn over their historical data. “Satya Nadella has been out there talking about how this is a game changer and the solution to all problems,” Williams says, referring to Microsoft's CEO. “If customers turn it on, there’s still a huge threat of legal discovery. I can’t imagine a corporate legal team that’s ready to accept the risk of all of a user’s actions being turned over in discovery.”

For Microsoft, the Recall rollback comes in the midst of an embarrassing string of cybersecurity incidents and breaches—including a leak of terabytes of its customers' data and a shocking penetration of government email accounts enabled by a cascading series of Microsoft security slipups—that have grown so problematic as to become a sticking point given its uniquely close relationship with the US government.

Those scandals have escalated to the degree that Microsoft's Nadella issued a memo just last month declaring that Microsoft would make security its first priority in any business decision. “If you’re faced with the trade-off between security and another priority, your answer is clear: Do security,” Nadella's memo read (emphasis his). “In some cases, this will mean prioritizing security above other things we do, such as releasing new features or providing ongoing support for legacy systems.”

By all appearances, Microsoft's rollout of Recall—even after today's announcement—displays the opposite approach, and one that seems more in line with business as usual in Redmond: Announce a feature, get pummeled for its glaring security failures, then belatedly scramble to control the damage.

The scream is guttural, inhuman, and exactly what he wanted to hear as his darling pet thrashes against the bindings he’d secured them in. 

“There’s no use struggling, you know.” 

They don’t answer. He’s not sure they could answer. Once upon a time they’d spoken in full, if labored, sentences. Mostly cursing him, threatening to rip out his throat and rend him limb from limb. Not so much anymore. The last few weeks had only been growls and groans.

Until now.

They lunge forward again, bindings creaking as they try in vain to free themselves, to reach the meat he had placed just out of their reach. Another blood curdling screech rips from their throat, and he laughs.

“Becoming a zombie hasn’t much helped your intelligence, huh?”

Their eyes find his, wild and unfocused. Or, their gaze bores into the place where they think his eyes must be, hidden behind dark glasses. 

“Poor dear,” he coos, mocking clear as day even to the undead. Reaching out, he cups their face with a gloved hand, thumb caressing their cheekbone. Carefully, he slips a digit under the strap of leather securing their muzzle in place, flexing his finger to give it a quick test of strength. It’s the only thing they’re really wearing. What use did a zombie have for clothes? “Poor silly fool,” he coos again, smiling as they growl.  If they were more docile, he might have slipped the muzzle from their face, tucked his gloved thumb into the gash ripping open their jaw. Of course, they weren’t. 

The crack of the slap echos in the room, his cool smile still present as their head naps to the side. If they still lived, their cheek would already be turning red. As it was, they stopped growling, turning back to look at him. Their eyes seem to grow clearer and his grin widens. “Oh, are you here? Can you see me again?” 

They jerk towards him, teeth snapping as they try to bite him even muzzled. He moves back, laughter bouncing around the small room he designed just for these little play sessions with his pet. 

Running a gloved hand through perfectly styled blond hair, the smile drops. If a living person has witnessed it, they'd find the shift disturbing. But, there isn't. Just his dear zombie.  “Are you conscious in there, pet?”

They surge forward, bindings creaking but holding true. 

“Think you remember how to do your tricks, pup?” 

The zombie stills at the pet name, breathing becoming heavy as some recognition comes into their eyes.

“Oh, you do, don’t you?” He reaches behind him for the chair pushed into the corner, pulling it out and into the zombie's range of movement. It was a dangerous thing he was about to do, but one he was addicted to. This creature that, when he took care of it properly, would scream obscenities. Who would have taken pleasure in hunting him down and consuming his flesh, now reduced to its bassist instincts. Willing to do exactly what he wanted, debase themselves however he wished. Malleable, in a way. Just what he wanted.

Besides, no risk, no reward.

Sitting, he leans back, legs spread in a silent command. They hesitate, but only for a moment, shuffling forward. 

“Good pup,” he hums in approval, deftly unbuckling the clasp of his belt. If this was a perfect world, he’d have them doing this. Would have them kneeling at his feet, face pressed against his thigh. Heel, paw, tongue, present. A simple routine. Heel at his feet. Give him their hand. Stick out their tongue, letting him press down on it with a gloved thumb. Present…present. Would they ever get to that stage. He’d thought so at one point, but things had backslid with the whole…zombification. 

They gaze at him with hard eyes, breath ragged. Hate and hunger mixed together, reluctant obedience as they waited for their next command. 

Well, they’d get back to that point of Present eventually.

royale high blackwood manor (shooter minigame) tips

hi everyone, idk how much the Greater Royale High Community (tm) knows this stuff or how much people have figured it out, but i know a few friends haven't so im making a guide full of tips some of my friends have found useful.

blackwood manor is, with a little aim, EASILY the fastest way to farm candy (and for me the most fun). i've written this guide assuming that the player doesn't have much experience with the shooter genre at all just so i can cover all my bases.

THIS IS NOT A CANDIES GUIDE. it's a gameplay guide + analysis that may result in you getting more candies. all screenshots in this guide were taken on graphics setting 9.

LASTLY, A DISCLAIMER: this is helpful for ME!!!!! if you have another system that works for you, feel free to share! this is not an attack on how anyone else plays the game or a presumption that i am the best royale high blackwood manor gamer, it's just a bunch of things i've found that my friends think is helpful.

how to play as an FPS the easiest way + visibility tips

DON'T PLAY ON MOBILE. i mean someone out there is gonna prove me wrong by being awesome at this game on mobile but i've heard nothing but complaints from mobile users playing this game. i have no clue how it handles on xbox. i play on PC with mouse and keyboard because it's how i play most shooters.

royale high has the shift button mapped to sprint, so playing as a TPS, you'll be right clicking and dragging a lot *or* toggling shiftlock all the time. FPS is the way to go.

when you zoom in, you may be met with your gun blocking your screen like this:

the surest way i've found to get rid of this is to use the "ninja" or "crawl" walkpack. it's under animations -> walk packs. if you're unfamiliar with RH, note that you have to jump or walk to reset the walk pack. here's the FPS view for ninja, then crawl, both idle and when fighting at a standstill:

the main benefit to using crawl is that the gun is basically never visible, even when running and shooting, because it's below the HUD. this means you're never gonna have it blocking your vision. but when you look down, you're gonna see your RH nickname, since it's in front of your first person view sometimes. you can get rid of that by resetting your RH nickname to display your normal roblox display name, but the RH nickname is such a big social part of RH that idk if that's a benefit unless you really, REALLY can't handle seeing the gun shake.

that said, with ninja equipped, your gun WILL be in view when running and not shooting... so it depends on your preferences.

(i also suspect that you may have slightly less range with crawl. but i also suspect that is not actually an advantage in this minigame. more on that later.)

the elder animation is also pretty solid, but the takes up a lot of the screen when shooting. here's that for comparison.

lighting tips

now you have to worry about seeing. it could be my monitor settings, but i see better WITHOUT the night vision goggles. (you can turn them off if you have them equipped in case you want them just for the looks.)

when i first wrote this i swore by the headlamp - but i turned my graphics settings down and noticed the effectiveness of the headlamp entirely depends on your graphics settings. to summarize:

on settings 1 and 2, it's so muted i can only tell it does something looking at my avatar. it hardly projects onto the environment at all.

on 3, its brightness is slightly more noticeable, but still pretty terrible.

on 4 and above, the spotlight is much clearer and it has a noticeable effect on the environment around it.

luckily, there's another way to make the environment glow that's fairly effective at all graphics settings: items designed to emit a nondirectional glow. this includes things like candles, lanterns, etc. a lot of wings i thought would do this don't; dewdrop mist does for some reason but it only helps a little. the items i listed will be the most effective, and they're best with the light source set to white. this will largely just help you with your immediate surroundings (i.e. running into a wall) but it does help. on graphics settings 1 thru 3, this is your most powerful option.

if you don't have any, there's a new item this royaloween that emits a good glow: the pumpkin wand. equip this and change the colors however you want, but make the light itself white. if you don't have the item, google a guide for royaloween 2023 chests and it'll be in there.

two warnings: 1) it'll look in third person mode on your avatar that stacking tons of glowing items adds more glow, but in first person mode i don't know if they help much. 2) not every item that has a bloom glow effect will emit an actual light source anywhere near your avatar.

the game is always gonna be super dark appearance-wise, which is actually one of my least favorite things in a shooter. most of my navigation is done by just knowing the map, which is kinda unfortunate.

some combat thoughts i've had

the game is definitely designed to encourage you to seek out the ghosts. they can lose you by moving through walls, but they move at roughly your own walking pace. and while you can't go through walls, your bullets can. this means when they go through a wall, you can sprint to find them in a reasonable time frame, all while shooting at them.

your gun shoots a projectile which travels a short distance in front of you in an arc. i THINK the projectile is actually dealing damage to the ghosts, because shooting something out of range will miss if the projectile goes below it but your cursor is on the ghost. it also feels like the damage isn't dealt until the projectile lands on the ghost, so there's no invisible instantaneous damage arc.

this means you can arc your shots by firing them higher. if you haven't played a game where this is important, this means taking advantage of how the arc from the gun is shaped. if you aim slightly higher than the target, you can hit a target further away. if you've played a game with a bow and arrow, like botw/totk, you've probably done this. the same thing applies to this game.

that would be really useful, BUT!!! the ghost-sucking mechanic also encourages you to follow them. it can be REALLY tempting to stand around getting arc-snipes on the ghosts, but that means when it's time to capture them, you're across the map from them fighting your way thru dark walls trying to close the distance and someone else will get the ghost! you'll still collect candies for shooting the ghost, but you can collect even more if you suck them. plus, the timer means for some ghosts, you REALLY won't capture them alone unless you start immediately.

so when is arcing shots useful? simple: the biggest ghosts. the ghosts all hover about the same distance from the ground, and the ghosts with the highest XP are the tallest. these ghosts are going to attract a lot of players. if you want to get the most candy out of them, you NEED to be pumping damage into them. so if you can't pursue it and maneuver thru the map at the same time, it can be beneficial to hang back and aim at it from far away, THEN close the distance once it's almost time to capture it.

i think this is clever not only because "big ghost = more HP" makes a lot of sense if you've literally ever played a game before, but because their height encourages players to arc their shots anyways. the highest HP ghosts are the easiest to aim at from a distance. the tall skinny ones take a little more aim, but they're still easier to hit at a distance not just from the bigger hitbox, but because it encourages you to aim in a way that maximizes your range. pretty cool, huh?

just remember, if you've never played a shooter before: at range you need to aim ahead of the target with slower projectiles like the ones in this game.

also: the distance your gun travels is DEFINITELY dependent on how high it is from the ground. your range feels like it's HALVED when using crawl compared to ninja. this means the ideal way to play the game seems to be to equip super high heels and then use an animation that keeps the gun away from your vision.

cosmetic tips

save an outfit with the goggles and/or headlamp and you'll be able to use them year-round. i've been using the goggles all year this way. here i am wearing an outfit in royale high with them. second pic is to show you that the headlamp still works!

you can change the colors of the headlamp and night vision goggles. the night vision goggles even support patterns on the metal part. adding a pattern to the glowing eyes will make them stop glowing.

the headlamp will equip an average color if you try to use a pattern with the band. using a pattern or a dark color will cause the glow effect on the item to stop working, but the light emitted to the environment doesn't appear to depend on the color you select for the headlamp at all. ugly combination of the two for demonstration:

if the headlamp doesn't go with your outfit, the skull crown layers really fantastically over it. it'll look like the skull is glowing.

and, of course, combining that with the ability to change the colors of the lamp/goggles, you basically get custom glowing skull this way:

my favorite combination for the night vis goggles is the breathe me mask. this is a super unpopular outfit item, but it works really well with the halloween gear. when it glows, it blocks the bulkiness of both items and only the lights show through. equipping a dark color or pattern will let all the details show through. both effects are super cool for a sci fi vibe.

but honestly, i will put these goggles over ANYTHING.

in conclusion:

FPS is the best way to play the minigame. it gives you the most aim control while moving. if RH could map sprint to anything else TPS might be viable. but right now it's not. to play FPS, make sure you've got an animation equipped where the gun isn't in your face.

SAVE AN OUTFIT WITH THE EVENT ITEMS SO YOU CAN USE THEM ALL YEAR. THEY ARE FREE and if you play sunset they are SUPER HELPFUL IN SPACE/SCI FI THEMES.

This ended up being very long, so I'll put it up in a post. It is under construction, I want to add some links with clearer guides. But I'm very bad at using the app, I have to see it later on the PC XD.

D&D has many classes and in general none are bad, just more difficult to use if one is not as experienced. In BG3 you are also not alone for a long time and your classmates have classes that complement well the one you choose. It is also possible to combine two classes on the same character.

I think the best classes are Bard, Cleric, Paladin, or Sorcerer. These classes offer great healing abilities, solid armor, and a wide variety of magic and spells for combat and exploration.

No class is good for everything, each has its advantage, but the best classes in BG3 often overlap. Having the best build for each class, including Companions, will also go a long way to improving their effectiveness.

The Bard is Support, I guess the best class is College of Valor.

In terms of support classes, you can't go wrong with a Bard. It has many abilities and allows you to succeed on dialogue checks often. Additionally, the class has a unique action called Bardic Inspiration, which grants a bonus to an ally's attack rolls, skill checks, and saving throws. At level 4, all loadouts are refreshed by short rests, ensuring you have a nifty upgrade at the right time.

The Bard thrives on allies, so I then attach equipment combinations. They are strong in combat and good at social interactions. And I think he would go well alongside Astarion.

The Cleric is support and healer. The best subclass is Light. You've got everything you need, from restoration and radiant damage to improvements to your ability checks.

Likewise, clerics can use medium armor and shields, allowing them to withstand a few hits. But with Shadowheart on the team it would be enough.

The Paladin is Melee DPS, tank and healer. The best subclass is Oath of the Ancients.

Compared to Clerics, Paladins can wear heavy armor, making them even more tanky. The best are the Oath spells, such as the Oath of the Ancients and the Healing Radiance spell. Heals your entire team upon being cast, and once again at the start of a round, which is great for tough encounters.

The Sorcerer is Caster DPS with Metamagic utility the best subclass is Draconic Bloodline.

It is my favorite class but it is more complicated, I wouldn't recommend it so much. By using Sorcery Points, you can modify the effectiveness of spells and tricks. In general, sorcerers have access to many of BG3's best spells in combat.

It depends on each person's taste and comfort when playing, it is very good to try different ones. You can also change the class. I will add the links later, especially the group configuration link so that it is complementary. And another guide for what to do when you're just starting out. I hope it helps you! (^-^)/

Some thoughts on my thoughts on Numenera

I'm going to try and sort out my thoughts here. I've been spending a lot of time thinking about Numenera, from my own sessions, to reading the books again and again, to reminiscing about the big era of D20 inspired designs. I absolutely love Numenera the setting, but I've never been able to warm up to Numenera the system for Numenera the setting.

Numenera, for those uninitiated, is an RPG by Monte Cook Games that came out in 2013. The hook is that you are playing on Earth, but 1 billion years in the future. The 8 (maybe) great civilizations that have come before manipulated and toyed with reality in a way that would seem like magic to us, and each of them left behind their devices and structures and changes to the world. In come the current humans, with no true understanding of any of these wondrous technological marvels - the numenera - and try to rediscover all this lost knowledge.

Let me be clear - Numenera the setting is brilliant. Monte Cook has proven back with Ptolus that he can worldbuild weird and wonderful settings, and this game is so full of strange ideas and mind-bending possibility that I'm itching to explore it.

Numenera is also a system, one that was later extracted and turned into the universal Cypher System, with lots of advice on how to run various genres with it. I like the Cypher System, I think it has a lot of great innovations and is light-weight enough for me to be comfortable with it. HOWEVER, more and more I have this nagging feeling that it's a bad fit for Numenera the setting. And I'm trying to figure out why.

So, I guess Part 1, What is the game about?

Part 1 - What is the game about?

On my journey in becoming a game designer, I had certain tenets drilled into me, mainly that if the game is about something, the game mechanics should help emphasize that the game is about that thing. This manifests in two basic questions asked at the beginning when nailing down a game's design goals:

What is the game about?

How is the game about that?

This is the basic approach I intuitively have whenever I read a new game and evaluate how it might play (and if I would enjoy it). So what do the answers look like here for Numenera?

Question 1 is simple, the game text itself tells us this explicitly: "The Ninth World is about discovering the wonders of the worlds that came before it," and "discovery is the soul Numenera". And on page 123 of Numenera Discovery, we get this entire section:

The core of gameplay in Numenera - the answer to the question "What do characters do in this game? - is "Discover new things or old things that are new again."

It doesn't get much clearer than this. "What do the characters do" is literally one of the questions to ask during ideation, and again and again the designers tell us that they want the game to be about discovering things.

So how is the game about that? It... kind of isn't. At least not mechanically. The only thing referencing discovery in a mechanical sense is that one of the two ways PCs gain experience points is through discoveries.

Then what does the game actually have?

Part 2 - The actual game itself

Many parts of the rules system are rightfully celebrated. The character system with its three parts ("I am a Clever Glaive who Rides the Lightning", "I am a Graceful Nano who Crafts Illusions") is beautifully evocative and makes for character titles that sound cool.

The core resolution mechanic of lowering task difficulty and the associated "casting from hit point" effort mechanic are a nice change of pace, if a bit fiddly at times. And GM intrusions are a superbly elegant way for the GM to influence the narrative while buying player trust.

And then of course there are the eponymous cyphers, bits of forgotten devices that nobody truly understands, and used in ways completely divorced from their original purpose (like using a laptop battery as an explosive). They inject a constant stream of weird into a game that's all about weird, and mechanically produce a rotating roster of new and varied character abilities that can be controlled by the GM.

That said, many levels of the game are confusing to me. From a high level perspective, Numenera attempts to be a more rules-light, rulings-not-rules kind of game that gives the group a core resolution mechanic which allows for some interesting gameplay decisions, and leave the rest up to the group to make up. Per se, this is not a problem.

I've played plenty of rules-light games that take a more "toolbox" approach (is that a term? I'm just going to use it as a term). That is, give everyone at the table a solid resolution mechanic, tips on how to apply it to different situations, and then let them have a go at it.

So there's a lack of guidance from the system in helping the players tell the types of stories the game is ostensibly about, and instead provides a hammer to hit every nail the GM puts in the players' way. But even with this view, something was still bugging me about the ruleset, but to see it, we have to delve deeper.

Part 3 - Ruling the mystery out of discovery

The problem comes when, delving deeper, details and individual crunch start to rear their head. For instance, the game uses abstracted distances (immediate, short, long), but then many of the cypher effects include very precise measurements for time, distance, weight etc.

Similarly, actions and tasks that players can perform are handled very loosely; the game features no fixed skill list, and "positive or friendly social interactions with other people" functions like a skill with mechanical bonuses. And yet, class abilities are rife with detailed conditions and/or effects.

It feels like a framework that is very vague, but with very specific rules once you actually choose to do anything.

And in a way, this is the biggest rub. The flavor of numenera keeps reinforcing how everything around the players is Weird StuffTM left behind by unimaginably advanced civilizations, and yet mechanically, it's function is explained so much detail that the mystique of it all vanishes. Just like someone explaining a joke or a magic trick, the game tears aside the curtain to show you the wizard behind it, and hopes you'll buy into the illusion anyway.

To say nothing of how the rules feel confused. This is reflected in the detailed-yet-not-actually-detailed-enough combat system, and the way the game tries to reassure you that it doesn't have to be about combat, and yet puts such a heavy emphasis on it with is character abilities, traits, and an entire class (of three) devoted to nothing else but fighting.

At this point, the game suddenly feels like a vague recipe that just tells you to do whatever, but all the ingredients are very precise in their usage. It has led to restrictive play with constant checking of details on both sides of the screen in my own sessions, completely counter to the premise and promise of the system as a whole.

It just feels so misplaced, I guess.

Part 4 - What now?

So what's the point of all this? This was mainly to sort through my thoughts on this game. I really love Numenera as a setting, but playing it with what is now the Cypher System never felt right. Writing all this is helping me see the parts I enjoy and the parts I don't.

And it'll likely lead to some form of homebrewing, adapting, or redesigning the game to fit my purposes, and with my thoughts more in order, I can go about that with a clearer direction and goal.

I initially just started playing Paladins in late 2018 as a sort of substitute since Overwatch hadn’t come out on Switch yet; however i very quickly got really attached and have grown to love this game more than I could ever love OW. I used to play nonstop in high school (which isn’t really that far behind me but still). I have a bunch of core memories related to it, like when i sat on my floor in the middle of the night watching io’s reveal trailer and how proud i was when i 100% completed the community pass, quests and all.

But sadly that all feels so distant now. The game has changed so much it’s not really recognizable, and it feels like it’s suffering and being suffocated by its own developers. This update made that clearer than ever to me and its devastating to watch. U/mesprizero made a post on Reddit that explains it pretty well but i still wanna share some opinions of my own.

I never did much with the bounty store so I don’t mind that being gone, i got maybe 5 skins i liked from it total. Indifferent.

The first thing that irked me about this update was the departure of the Trials, i liked doing those to get rewards since the short format of the current event passes gives so little, especially for players that don’t pay for the full pass. One major change I’d make is bring the 100-level battle pass format back for sure. It feels like there’s next to nothing to work towards with how things are now.

I know we’ve all complained about how painfully basic Nyx’s design is (she’s the Queen of the Abyss for crying out loud), but her damage output is horrendous as well. I get she’s a tank and not DPS focused but even most tanks can sustain decant damage rates on their own. And her voice literally sounds exactly like Octavia’s, there’s nothing unique about her in that regard.

That brings me to the part of the update that was by far the most infuriating to me; the total removal of the splash arts. My discovery of that made me so angry; Thunderbrush and all the artists that worked on those with/before him spent so much time on the thousands of existing arts and they just casually all get shelved and replaced with incredibly lazy render screenshots of the models. It’s unbelievable, truly. I can’t properly put into words how much this pisses me off especially.

The new UI is fine, it could obviously use some polishing since its new but its not particularly bad to me. Indifferent.

Another thing that made me irrationally upset, the fact that Payload mode is straight up not available on the Switch at all. It’s pretty obvious the devs have seriously neglected its Switch players (textures don’t load most of the time & the game has reached a point where it constantly crashes), but this feels particularly disrespectful in a weird way. I never got to play Payload during its original run so i was excited to try it for the first time, only for the official twitter to state THE DAY BEFORE THE UPDATE that its not available on there, too bad. That just feels like a kick to the face as a Switch player, y’know? I know what you’re thinking, ‘just play on another platform’, that’s the thing, i don’t have another platform to play the game on. Switch is my only option. Not everyone can afford a gaming PC or another console, i certainly can’t. If you’re gonna make a game multi/cross-platform, please make everything on all the platforms the same. Is that too much to ask lmao

If i need to add stuff later i will, but i think thats it for now. As much as i don’t want to give up on this game I’ve held dear for so long, it’s become practically impossible in it’s current state. I have no hope left for it’s future. :((

I could mostly ignore the fact that you have to play as a boy in RBY, but in Gold and Silver, there's quite a bit of gendered language and it just took me by surprise. I know you could play as a girl in Crystal, but since I played Gold as my Gen II game, this is the first time I'm getting the option.
