people always hate on brutalist architecture, and it's like, what do you mean when you look at those huge futuristic looking buildings with exposed structure and concrete, you don't feel the same feeling as when you are looking up at the night sky, or a mountain, or a huge animal. are you not getting existential. are you going to tell me next you also don't get emotional when you stand in front of a Rothko

#maybe im just hypersensitive but the raw look of materials on a building can be so beautiful #if i think about how some of them have this imagined utopian future vibe im going to cry #have you ever stood in front of a painting of a certain red shade that made you tear up #also sidenote i think the problem most of the time is that these brutalist buildings are not being taken care of #they are dirty and falling apart #its like if modern office buildings or malls or skyscrapers werent regularly cleaned they would be ugly too
