Curse of My Favourite Pet Is A Predator
No small animals for me
#i had budgerigars growing up and i adored them#birds are a very special kind of bastard that i just LOVE#its like having a tiny velociraptor as a friend they're so clever#id love a longer lived more intelligent parrot but they live a very long time and I can't go that long without a cat#took care of my cousin's mice for a month as a kid (locked them in my room on a high shelf where the family cat couldn't go)#i was obsessed with them and heartbroken that it was too risky to keep them because my cousin was a terrible mouse owner#they're so small and delicate and they just#trust you enough to fall asleep in your hands or curl up on your shoulder#anyway i love Percival he's a wonderful cat but he's way too efficient a mouser to live with small pets of any kind#he's caught 6 rats in the last three months. and he's an indoor cat. i don't know why they keep coming in its suicidal at this point#Ah the joys of the Australian bush#i put them outside when i can if they're natives#but i can't let roof rats go in good conscience given the sheer number of native rodents around#roof rats will kill and eat young natives and the local bush rats don't need that#the wizzard speaks
