not susceptible to cult recruitment because the moment a man starts trying to explain anything to me my eyes glaze over and i start considering violence
#its like a problem probably but in upper level academia older men will always want to explain things to you that you already know#and the guy who does it in my research design class is literally the WORST he talks on and on and on and the rest of us in the group#all women. can barely get a word in without interrupting him#i was complaining abt this to my mom bc another guy in one of my other clasees does a similar thing and she was warning me#abt going to school with such diverse nationalities. some of the guys here may be coming from more... patriarchal cultures.#which may be true but idk. it might just be that im very much used to being treated like the smartest in the room. and now my classes#are ALL people who are usually the smartest in the room. and also i didnt have a lot of classes w men during undergrad bc#my degree was in social work. we just had one guy in the program and he was. not like this at all
