im as anti-national as they come. but it sucks that nikki kaye died. i wish more of nat mps were like her. theres less and less of them with socially liberal views and pro-environment values. she actually had a backbone and didnt defer to the party when she disagreed with their stances (opposing multiple environmentally dubious plans, voting in favour of gay marriage). from what i understand she actually did things for her electorate, and worked together with the current mp for the area (the leader of the very left-wing green party) to improve healthcare and wellbeing. her leaving politica in 2020, while understandable because of the cancer that ultimately took her life, marked an uncomfortable and ever more clear shift where the party went from center right to right-wing.
