yesterday i got called problematic for still enjoying the 89 ranma anime and i was baffled then but now i just think its super funny 💀
#the reasoning was that the remake is less problematic so i should condemn the old one#like hello...... the fanservice was A Lot in the og but the other Problematic elements were like#*problematic elements of SEASON ONE specifically#ranma and akane experiencing/feeling internalized trans/homophobia. which isnt.... unrealistic or automatically bad to show#ranma growing to accept the curse and akane growing to accept her attraction to women is part of what made the original so relatable to me#its fine the remake has akane immediately fine w her feelings and ranma not making such a big deal abt the curse either#but its not Bad that the old one didnt do that
