"Do you think we love each other in every universe?"
I think there is some semblance of us echoed through every timeline. It's within the very core of my nature to witness and admire the moon.

Hi, I think he's connected to the entity who created humans on Teyvat, and said entity was able to do the same only in conjunction with the Hydro Sovereign.
We got the biggest lore drop in 4.4 lantern rite if you ask me, and it's also the cutest ever.
Tumblr media
YES, THE NOODLELADLE
I found the phrasing of this term incredibly suspicious even at first glance, especially coupled with Zhongli's egregious side-eye during the previous quest. (FYI, Neuvillette's Character Story explicitly tell us that the Hydro Sovereign is the OG god of life. and remember our dear Rhodeia, 'water covets the shape of the living')
But then I remembered goddess Nuwa and her creation of humans in Chinese mythology. Oh, and do you notice the name of the creation god who slept in a giant egg and separated the heavens and the earth?

Now, the webcomic came out years ago and I honestly think the references to Ymir and Purusha would be retconned (Plus it's Venti talking about them and who will trust him? lol)
HOWEVER
Tumblr media
This does contradict what Before Sun and Moon tells us, but hey, it is an ingame book and had to be taken with buckets of salt. HOWEVER we learn about a very interesting fella in Enka, namely the Golden God, who chased Orobaxi to the depths.
Neuvillette's voiceline about Deus Auri stands out to me for multiple reasons, especially when compared to the rest.
Nothing will stop me from rendering judgment on each of The Seven. As the Archon who won the Authority of Geo, Deus Auri must be called to trial. If one does not wish to see us on opposite sides of a conflict, they need not worry, for I intend to stay in Fontaine for the foreseeable future, which could well mean another four hundred years. As another point of consolation, even when the trial eventually takes place, it is still not a given that the judgment will lead to a physical confrontation. (link)
a. He refers to him by the name Deus Auri and does not refer to the whole 'rex lapis died' nonsense at all. b. He tells us that we need not worry about ZL and him being on the opposite sides of the conflict, I feel that line can be interpreted in multiple ways. c. ZL is the only archon towards whom Neuvillette has even mentioned physical confrontation.
Curious, right?
But why Deus Auri?

Mora is not just a currency, it is literally a catalyst, it is used to power up artifacts and characters and weapons, and we also get it from feeding resin into leylines.
Tumblr media
This isn't the first time that we learn about Godly or Adeptal blood and/or flesh being used to bring about transformation, Xianyun's SQ, The Delusion Factory, and Caterpillar are all examples of how consumption of the remains of powerful entities can cause physical transformation in both living and non-living beings.
So, I wouldn't be too off the mark to say that Mora, the Golden God's flesh and blood, is used in alchemy, right?
Do you know who else was great in Alchemy? yes, Gold. R has mastered the art of Khemia, of creating artificial life to such an extent that she created Albedo, whose Character Story 5 is incredibly revealing.
Khaenri'ah was an underground realm, with precious few natural fauna. As such, its alchemy focused more heavily on the creation of life. This art of creation was known as "The Art of Khemia." Albedo had learned of this in his youth from reading his master's notes. The next stage after "soil" is "chalk," which was also something his master had mentioned. "Chalk is the spotless soil, and was used to make primordial man." Now, Albedo understands alchemy in far greater depth than he did in the beginning, and his knowledge on the subject is far more comprehensive. "From soil was birthed chalk."
Now, we know that Gold is responsible for like half of the nonsense we encounter in the game, but I can't help but see the parallels between Deus Auri and Gold the witch.
In Sumeru we learn that the faith of the people gives power to the Archons, an oft-repeated theme of thoughts, wishes, and prayers manifest and manipulate reality. This makes Zhongli's actions during the Liyue AQ very anomalous as in contrast to the other archons, he goes out of his way to fake his death and thereby stop people's worship of him. (Venti slept around for centuries but people never really stopped worshipping him, while Nahida and Ei remain in positions of power).
In Fontaine we learn that the Gnosis is the remains of the third descender and that the Elemental Sovereign Authority is held in the Archon Throne at Celestia, making Zhongli's abdication suspect, more so than the others because of the aforementioned whoops he died thing.
Zhongli is also really fucking old. He is said to have 'descended' onto Teyvat some 6000 years ago. He mentions that his contract with the Tsaritsa is the contract to 'end all contracts', while he still holds the Sovereign Authority.
I think that Zhongli is a manifestation (or the offshoot in some form) of the original Geo Sovereign, because his ability to make Mora coupled with the whole 'giving sight to blind' and 'granting illumination to adeptal beasts' theme is very creation god-ist. It's almost like hydro, the strongest healing force in the game, requires a vessel! Very Nuwa creating humans, no??
Oh, and how could I forget the Exuvia!
Tumblr media
Y'all, it's a fucking dragon exoskeleton!! It is Morax shedding his 'old shackles' of the Principles by giving up the Gnosis, it is Rex Lapis fading away from the prayers of the people, while still retaining the sovereign authority as stored in the Geo Archon's throne. And animals molt because they need to grow :D!!
I think that can explain the difference in Neuvillette's attitude regarding the Geo Archon, because it seems way more personal than the other charges, even with Venti, who has been the only Anemo Archon. Because Zhongli made a contract with the heavens.
Anyway, welcome to my Neuviladle is the genesis myth of Teyvat agenda <3
PS - ZL's decision to give up mora making seems to align with the game's theme of human societies slowly moving to a post-archon world (Refer to character stories of Wriothesley and Rosaria, lore of cashflow supervision). Also K is for Khaenri'ah and K is for Kaveh. Make of that what you will.
I just finished the 4.2 Archon Quest and i can't help but continue to be suspicious of Zhongli for being the only version of him to ever exists in Teyvat.
There are the nameless Bard and Venti.
There are Makoto and Ei.
There are Rukkhadevata and Nahida.
and now Focalors and Furina.
Every Archon has some kind of Double or Doppelganger, or simply a Mirrorself - someone who LOOKS and acts like the first or tries to live the former dreams, goals and ideals. They aren't the only one with their face, there were at some point two of them in Teyvat (As if they were twins, but only one remained...well, in case of makoto and ei that's literally what happend but you get it) There already once was someobody conscious with the Face the current Archon wears.
Except for Zhongli. He is the only one with a face that belongs just to him. There is no counterpart or mirror, no friend or sibling, he didnt split himself into two, his face is unique and yet he is also the only one who keeps it hidden in every cutscene...
