ive been thinking about going back and catching up with daiya no a, since I love Eijun, he's such a fun main character.
but i gave up the series during yhe yips arc. it wss just miserable, seeing the lack of support and help Eijun got.
It's not what i ever want to read in the sports manga genre. what makes me love the genre is the love and support and appreciation of people's differences and weaknesses.
i think its because daiya is on the very realistic end of sports series that it got to me so badly. the thought of this sweet 15 y.o kid who is so earnest and positive being left to flail about by both his team and the adults... it didn't sit right.
and i know i could just skip over the arc but...eh. its my damage. my own childhood bullying survivor stuff, and the way adults consistently failed me as a kid...
i just find it hard to dive back in. and i regret that because it really is a good series.
i think also it gets me since oofuri is the only other baseball series ive read (one outs not withstanding and also not counting lmao)
and oofuri is nothing but the slow process of healing from bullying and mihashi gets support from team and adults.
and even though ita hard work, or people make mistakes, they don't just leave him.
idk. i might read some plot summaries for the following arcs, see if they get me.
there's just something that felt like, as the series progressed, Eijun was continually being devalued and i became oversensitive to it.
