trek writers fav past time is slandering the borg
#theyre on a quest for perfection thats corrupted them!!#the og borg queen delivered their mission statement so clearly and succinctly#its a noble pursuit in their mind. the quest for the unobtainable is a very Human trap#which is why they work so well narratively in modern industrialized society striving for technological ascendancy#and this is my personal beef but i always thought they should convey that being part of the hivemind is a beautiful transcendent experience#think how cool itd be to fully understand another person all their thoughts and internal logic and be one mind#something we cant and never will be able to do bc we have to put all our thought and ideas into words to convey them#instead its just 'cyborg scary individual good'#its all cause they overused them as antagonists and didnt know what to do w them
