After Wen Wu Temple, we took the ferry to Itathao and Ropeway to The Formosa Aboriginal Cultural Village.  Visited the very colourful European Village and the Aboriginal Village.  Then we took a bus to Xuan Zhuang Temple.  Walking down Mt Qinglong Trail or 1000 steps to Xuanguang Pier was the most exciting.  As the sun was setting, we hurried through the thick bamboo thicket as the rays of light fell. There was no one else but the two of us. It was very quiet and the steps seemed never ending.  I was relieved when we reached the last step and  saw the last ferries waiting at the pier.

Itathao is a resort town on the southeast side of Sun Moon Lake, Taiwan. The name comes from the indigenous Thao people who once lived here.

Next day, took a 2hr coach ride to Sun Moon Lake.  Visited Itathao by ferry and tried the Ropeway.  After Ropeway, took a shuttle to Xuangguang Temple.
