Customers often ask how long Pete has been painting, and what he was doing before he started upcycling furniture, so I thought I would tell you a bit more about him! He was born in Aberystwyth and brought up in Lampeter, West Wales. He started painting while still in his teens and then moved to North Wales in 1978 - where he offered a complete design service to homes, restaurants & hotels for over 25 years. During that time he gained a reputation for unique artistry in ceiling design, specialist paint effects and decorative mouldings installations, from the simplest to the most ornate. In 2002, Pete went to Milan and trained to work with Italian polished plaster, a luxurious marble-finish product used predominantly on walls and ceilings. He has also assisted in the delivery of training seminars given by the Italians in this country. Pete has spent the last week refurbishing his house in Wales (with thanks to family & friends who did a lot of the donkey work!). Here are pictures of the revamped kitchen, complete with an old juke box which he built into it. The kitchen units, door and door head were painted in Autentico Versante Eggshell, colour 'White Cliff'.
