a fluffy fic on you and Yuji sneaking out of the dorms!

Yuji itadori who can't stop thinking of you!

He's completely entranced with your laugh, your smile, your eyes..

The fact that you were there when he 'came back to life' doesn't help, because now you're the only person he can talk to, since you know of his fake death.

You've spent night after night sneaking into the basement to watch movies with Yuji.The two of you have gotten closer than ever, but all in the cramped, dark space of the basement.

So obviously Yuji proposes the two of you sneak out! At first, you're hesitant, after all, there's a high chance of Megumi, Nobara, or even one of the second years catching you, and that would ruin everything!

No matter who caught you, it's guaranteed they won't keep their mouth shut. Word would spread like wildfire and the higher ups would eventually learn Yuji is alive..

And if that happens? There's no telling what they would do!

"Itadori..it's too risky, y'know? I mean..what if somebody catches us sneaking out..!"

You tried to shut down the idea, but with the way Yuji was looking at you, it was impossible to deny him.

"Cmon! It'll be soooo fun! And-and we can go to like.. the arcade! Nobody is gonna see us. Its gonna be fineee!"

And just like that, the two of you were sneaking out the basement door, creeping in the shadows of the dark campus and running down the mountain.

Eventually, you and Yuji reached the city, laughing as you walked through the streets. 

The lights shimmering above you, almost inviting you deeper into the city. The conversations of people walking, eating and laughing fill your ears, The honking and rumble of cars fading into the background.

"told you it would be fun! we haven't even started and your already smiling!"

you rolled your eyes at the comment, but he wasn't wrong. the night was beautiful and filled with warmth. It filled your body with a positive buzz. However, you'd never admit it.

"sure, its cool and all, but we shouldn't stay long. The only reason we somehow didn't get caught is because it was so dark out. If we stay long who knows what could happen. What if Gojo Sensei is looking for you?"

You tried to prove him wrong, a weird feeling still in the back of your mind, but your comment only made Yuji snicker.

"oh, righttt. Like Gojo sensei is gonna get me, his FAVORITE student, in trouble!"

You scoffed, trying to act annoyed, but your face definitely didn't show it, a smile carved perfectly on your lips, and a small glint in your eyes.

"Favorite?"

"yeah."

"sure..!"

After a couple minutes of playful bickering, you finally arrived got dragged at the.. Movies?

"Itadori, i though you said the arcade?"

You raise an eyebrow, maybe you had heard him wrong or made it up in your head, But then you see Yuji smile more, as if that was even possible.

"Well, on the way here I decided it would be nice to make a whole thing out of tonight! Since, y'know, who knows if i'll be able to convince you to do this again!"

You rolled your eyes, but you couldn't lie, it was a sweet gesture. You never knew Yuji was capable of.. Thinking. And making a whole plan, just for you!

"Well. We're already here I guess.. let's just hope we don't run out of time."

"yess!"

Yuji eagerly runs up to the ticket booth, dragging you behind him.

"what movie do you wanna watch?"

You paused and looked at the signs above the booth to look at your choices. Surprisingly, almost every movie had a late night showing. The problem was, you wanted to watch the new Deadpool & Wolverine movie for a while now , but they also had a showing for one of Yuji's worm guy movie.. or whatever its called..

"I guess we can watch that wormy-guy movie you like?"

"what?? That's nice of you, but lets be honest, you would hate it. Plus, I asked you what YOU wanted to watch, not me."

You felt a flutter in your chest. Maybe it was the way he disregarded his favorite movie for you, or the way he complimented you, but it was something else. Sure, you have many friends do that for you, and you even do that for them, but this was.. different.

"oh. Well, in that case.. let watch.. Deadpool?"

"Yeah! I've seen the trailer and it look sooo good! I really like marvel movies."

"yeah.."

When you got to the front of the line, Yuji asked for two tickets to the dead pool movie, then taking out his wallet to pay.

"Wait- let me pay"

"don't worry, I got this."

Yuji smiled and handed the employee his card before you could even get a word in otherwise.

"okay lets go! I'll go get the popcorn!"

You walked to the theatre as Yuji got the popcorn, the both of you settling into your seats a few minutes later.

Halfway through the movie, you found that the both of you were getting closer with each minute that passes. Soft, unnoticeable things like your hands brushing against each other as you both reached into the popcorn bucket. Or your arms bumping into each other as you both tried to lay your arms on the arm rest. Any normal person would just ignore it, but for some reason, you couldn't.

You both laughed your way out of the theatre when the movie finished, the moon high in the sky, indicating the late time. Yuji grabs his phone from his pocket, looking at the time.

"I think we should go home, it's pretty late and you already know how early some of the teachers get to the school.."

You felt a small jab of disappointment hearing this, wishing this night could go in longer.

"ah, right. We probably should head back!"

You look up at Yuji for a split second, and you find his beautiful brown eyes staring right into yours. Something about them told you he may have felt that same disappointment.. you smile before looking at your feet, clearing your throat before looking back at him.

"this was really fun though."

"it really was, if we don't get caught, maybe we could do this again?"

Your eyes roll a small chuckle escaping your throat as you start to slowly walk backwards, heading back to the school.

"ehh, maybeee"

Yuji starts to walk towards you, laughing. And for a second, your smile faltered. It was something out of a movie, like time itself had stopped. Was it His wide smile, causing his closed eyes and dimples? Or maybe the way his eyebrows bunched together for a small snippet of time.. perhaps it was the raw happiness in his laugh, with a twinge of.. something else? The city light flickered behind him, causing a perfect view of Yuji as a wave of feelings washed over you, Like the dam of hidden emotions had just bursted open..

"hey, you okay?"

Everything slammed back into place, and you noticed Yujis face awfully close to yours.

"you kinda just froze, and I almost bumped into you! Are you okay? Did you zone out or something?"

"Wha? Oh. Yeah, yes. I'm fine sorry, just..tired."

"oh. Yeah me too, we should hurry back then."

You walked past closed stores and the occasional late night drunkard, or car driving by. The city felt so different at night, it had never felt this magical. You and Yuji kept up conversation as you walked, it seemed as if you both had a never ending thoughts, always talking about something, anything.

After sometime, you finally made your way up the steep mountain and stairs leading up to the school. The sun barely peeking through the horizon, still dark out. Your conversation hushed As you started to sneak back into campus, being careful to avoid noise, or being spotted. It was an amazing rush of adrenaline before you finally made it to the back entrance of your own dorm, seeing you curtains through the glass sliding door.

"I would probably offer to let you stay, but.."

"ah, no worries, that would be pretty dumb, even for me..would want to get caught!"

"right, well.. thanks, for tonight.. you know. Convincing me, and the movies.. all that."

A small tingle rose up Yujis spine as you thanked him, and thought you couldn't feel it, you could definitely see the faint pink in his ears.

"told you you'd like it!"

You chuckled as you turned away awkwardly.. your hand reached for the doors handle, but you froze. You weren't done. The sun was rising, and the campus was soon to be buzzing with people soon, yet the night felt unfinished. Your turn your head back to him again, looking at Yuji, who was still standing and staring at you.

"we should do it again! Maybe actually go to the arcade? Maybe plan the night out better to.. really take advantage?"

"I knew I could convince you!"

Yuji stepped closer to you, but froze.

Silence followed you both, the seconds slowly ticking by.. he himself having no clue as to why he got closer.

"uhm.."

"yeah.. you were right, it was.. amazing." You stepped closer to him too, your bodies so close you could practically feel the material of his hoodie. Well, what do you do now? A hug? Handshake? Do you just walk into your dorm??

You kept staring at each other, your eyes speaking for themselves. Your heartbeat sped up and you swear you can feel his face getting closer to yours..

Slow, and awkward, were an understatement to how this moment felt, so, you decided to do anything. Literally. Anything.

Without a second thought, you leaned up quickly, your soft lips taking his pink cheeks by surprised. You could barely call it a kiss on the cheek with how quick and soft it was, but no matter what you call it, It still had Yuji turning into a red, stumbling mess..

You took two slow steps back, looking into his wide eyes before rushing into your dorm, locking the door and closing the curtains. You could feel your breathing speed up as your face got hot, sweaty palms and a feeling of ..something.. following you like a curse.

Surely you don't actually do that ,right? And if you did, you totally kept it cool and didn't run into your room!

You screamed into your pillow from embarrassment. Yet, for some reason, you don't regret a second of it. Groans escaped you as you tossed and turned on your bed, the sleepiness overtaking your but your overthinking tugging you out of it..

What now..?

A/N- yall, this is totally rushed and probably so bad, but i had the beginning portion of this just sitting in my drafts for MONTHSSS . finally decided to finish it last night at like 3 am bc im super duper sick rn and cant sleep! even though its probably trash, i hope you like this!!

A short fluffy fic on how i think yuji would confess!! ><

It wasn't odd for Yuji to invite you, Nobara, and Megumi to hang out in his dorm and watch movies after practice, it was routine at this point. It also wasn't odd for at least one of you to cancel, most of the time being Nobara so she could go shopping, and today was the same story. Nobara had gone out with some new friends to the mall, and Megumi had actually decided to head to bed early after some pretty harsh training with Gojo.

Its understandable, you are all pretty close friends, and you really didn't mind watching a movie alone with Yuji anyway….

You entered his dorm, small blanket and a snack in hand. It wasn't very late, but its not like you're going anywhere special, so just some pajamas will do..

the Light of the TV illuminated his dark room, lights off and all the curtains closed. his room was actually pretty basic and plain. There was a time he had some questionable posters up… but Nobara thankfully forced him to take them down…

'Hey! pick out a movie yet?'

you sit down on his bed and get comfy, wrapping the blanket around yourself and opening the wrapper to take a bite of your snacks.

'oh, hey! yeah, there's this movie that came out.. i think you'll like it.'

he starts the movie and places the remote down, getting comfy in his own blanket, snuggling closer to you.

You both laugh your way through most of the cliche Rom-com movie. It was surprisingly enjoyable.. a movie about two best-friends that don't realize they have feelings for each other.. totally not relatable in any way..!

Only problem is, when the characters finally confess to each other, it awakens something in Yuji.. More like a realization..it was just the way your head was leaning on his shoulder makes him feel like there's butterflies in his stomach.. Or how whenever he looks at you, he can't help but this about just how beautiful your eyes look. Especially all those times he would try his hardest to be the funniest person in the room, just to hear that pretty little laugh and see your beautiful smile.

Yuji stares at the TV, almost frozen as this hits him, a small blush painting his cheeks.. Alright, so he likes you, but you probably don't feel the same way , you're just friends after all.. And there is no way you could ever think of him as anything other than that..right?

You yawn as the movie comes to an end, arms rising above your head to stretch. You start to pick up the wrappers of your snacks off of his bed and try to hop off, he grabs your shoulder. Its gentle, like he's barely even touching you.

you turn your head to look at him, his cheeks a rose color and his expression looks flustered, like he didn't look farther ahead.

'What's up Yuji?'

its silent…

'Yuji..?'

you lean closer to him, waiting.. waiting for anything at this point, just something to fill the awkward silence..

'Hey.. i think i like you..'

This is just a small extended head-cannon of how i think Yuji would confess to you! It would definitely be something out of the blue and unplanned. He just kind of realizes he likes you and can't keep it contained, he just has to tell you!! but hey, at least it worked out in the end!
