Season 3 finale! Episode 8!

1.) “We don’t know it’s your kids.” “Yes, we do.” We really do, Murray. They’re the only kids who do shit in this town.

3.) They really did not CGI that wound well. I forgot Jonathan reaches into the wound at all though. I just remember El using her powers to rip it out.

7.) STEVE’S HER DADDY NOW. Cute that you think you’d be the one being called Daddy, Steve. You’re a total bottom. Edit from the future: this isn’t me saying only tips are daddies or even only dons are daddies. I just don’t think Steve is a daddy because of vibes.

8.) “Oh honey, I’m gonna be fine.” It’s true. People will riot if Winona Ryder’s character dies, so I think she has plot armor.

I took a pill and let my friends blow weed smoke in my face because I am whatever’s a step lower than a lightweight. I’m a baby weight? THat doesn’t make sense. I’m a lighter weight. I’m the lightest weight.

36.) Do you think it was awkward filming a scene where you’re being carried over Dacre’s shoulder and if you open your eyes, you’re staring straight at his ass?

38.) Hell yeah fireworks. Yeah definitely don’t watch this show if you have a light sensitivity. BTW, I’m super mad that I have migraine triggers now. Like thanks Covid. Thanks for ruining big lighting things that I used to love.

39.) I think the Duffers rely too much on a plan never going the way it’s supposed to. Like they do it every single season and at this point it’s like, expected. It is straight up no longer a surprise. I’m now just constantly looking for how it’s going to fuck up.

40.) Mike and Max definitely have concussions.

41.) This is a sweet scene but I just realized she’s describing this scene like she’s trying to get a sketch artist to draw it at first. Like I get it, he got a shit fucking deal. I STILL DO NOT FORGIVE HIM FOR WANTING TO KILL LUCAS. No one made him do that! No one made him nearly kill Steve! Like yes he did a good thing at the end and I think MAYBE with some work people (probably not Lucas or Steve) could have learned to forgive him and maybe he could have earned forgiveness, but dying doesn’t actually earn that. Not even dying to protect El and Max.

42.) I do feel bad for Max though.

43.) Why doesn’t Hopper even try to move? Also I just realized they did that fade to black to hide him being taken away at the last minute because you don’t see him on the walkway before the explosion.

44.) I love how that mega powerful explosion that disintegrates Russians can’t touch glass though so Joyce is fine. I’m telling you, that woman has plot armor.

45.) Max is so sad. Honestly I am shocked she’s that sad, that fast. Not that it’s wrong for her to react that way, but IDK. I think I just want more representation of that first initial sock of like ‘I don’t know what I feel. This person sucked’.

46.) I forgot the fucking soldiers show up as soon as everything is already completed. Say what you will about the commies, but they were prompt all season.

47.) Owens showed up to have a disappointed dad face at a red crack int he wall.

48.) Will is getting so tall. I love him and Joyce reuniting. But also poor poor El. For a rare time they actually manage to convey information through acting and not words.

49.) THREE MONTHS LATER. I love that the deaths has Barb and Bob BUT NOT BENNY OR THE MORE THAN HALF DOZEN OTHER PEOPLE WHO FUCKING DIED IN SEASON 1. The show literally forgets who all died.

50.) Steve put his mom down as a reference because she’s ‘like super well-respected’.

51.) Steve isn’t an idiot, he’s just dyslexic and is bad at answering on the spot. But he definitely has seen all 3 Star Wars movies without being forced. It wasn’t actually nerdy to see Star Wars in the 1980s, guys. They were blockbuster hits that everyone and their mother watched.

52.) Byers are leaving Hawkins. Joyce has a terrible history with dating.

53.) I love Max and Lucas singing together.

54.) Okay Mike and Will are gay for each other.

55.) I didn’t expect Jonathan’s carpet to be that clean.

56.) Nancy Wheeler is the big spoon.

57.) “A wise man said, we’ve got shared trauma.” And I say Nancy’s a comphet lesbian

58.) El’s hair is so cute.

59.) everyone likes presents

60.) “Mike, I love you too.” Wait she says that and according to fanfiction he never says I love you back? What a dumbass. I guess I’ll find out though.

61.) Why are they acting like Hopper needed to be coached to write this letter? It’s super similar to what he said off the cuff to the radio in season 2.

62.) Millie Bobby Brown is very good at being pretty while crying.

Okay so season 3 is a mixed bag at breakneck pace. Hopper’s characterization is inconsistent as hell. I don’t care about Mike/El, tbh. I also think the Duffers don’t understand most media, let alone feminist literature enough to make a cogent point about anything. By this time the Russian angle was already super played out and being set in the 80s doesn’t make it better, honestly.

Anyway, it’s once again a mediocre season elevated by a good cast but I love Steve and Robin being friends. It has good moments and if they’d had a better script it could have been great. But that would require smart men. Smart men who don’t do a circle jerk because they remember 80s movie references.

Okay so first thoughts after watching Power of the Doctor, featuring some things I screamed while watching (Spoilers):

-start of the episode is a bit clunky but not a terrible reintroduction to the CyberMasters

-Sacha Dhawan absolutely fucking annihilates every scene he's in my god. Goes absolute apeshit nuts. I love it

-THE CLASSIC MASTER LINES

-AAAAAACE!!!!! TEEEEEGAAAAANNN!!!!

-CLASSIC COMPANIONS MY BELOVEDS!

-Dan...:( really got a short end of the stick I feel like. Kind of abrupt. He and Yaz def had a stronger bond so I like they had a nice goodbye but. Man that felt so cut off.

-I bet the Four inside Thirteen felt(tm) that poor Dalek, knowing that it was right that they failed their original purpose to help the Kaleds survive. "That poor Dalek" my god but I did feel so bad :(

-the way Ace calls The Master out on being a catboy cleared my acne, watered my crops, boosted my serotonin

-also the unhinged way The Master was so delighted that the armed troops were for him. Am I gOIng tO UNIT??? You doughnut. Bastard man. I can't help but enjoy watching you chew up every scene!!

You were currently sitting at the kitchen table doing your homework while you waited for your mom to come home from work. Tonight she wasn’t on call so you were looking forward to having some quality time with her. You heard a knock at your door so you got up to look through the peephole before answering it. There were three men in suits standing on the other side of the door.

“Can I help?” you said opening the door slightly.

“We need to talk to you about your mother.”

You felt your heart stop thinking your mom been seriously injured on the job so you took the latch off and opened the door completely.

“Hey what are you-?”

The men barged in and managed to pretty much rammed you into the kitchen island before one of them grabbed your arm and pushed your face against the wall. You yelled out in pain at the force and felt the warm blood dripping down your nose as you heard the door close.

“Sit her down,” ordered the last man pointing to the arm chair. You were pulled into the living room, you tried jerking your arm away but to no avail. The man threw you on the arm chair and pinned your arms behind your back. “Struggle all you want kid, it’s not gonna work,” he sneered behind her.

“Fuck you!” You hissed at him.

“Hey,” he said letting go of one of her arm and grabbing her chin. “What did you say to me?”

“I said Fuck you, asshole.”

“You should show me some respect.”

“Respect is earned.”

“Alright enough,” said one of the other men. “We don’t want to hurt her more than we already have.” You saw stuff being thrown from you and your moms bedroom. The guy then entered the living room and made the same mess he made everywhere else.

“Why are you trashing the apartment? What do you want?” You asked coldly.

“Nothing,” the man shrugged. He kicked the coffee table over making it turn upside down. “Were just here to send your mother a message, we want to let her and the squad know exactly who they’re dealing with.”

“What do you mean?”

The man smirked, “Dont worry about it Y/F/N.”

Your eyes widened, “How do you.”

“I know a lot of things you’d be surprised about,” he went through your pockets and pulled out your cell phone.

“Such a nice phone, did your mommy buy it for you?”

You didn’t say anything just continued glaring at him.

“I’d hate to break this,” he said before throwing the phone across the room, “but I want your mother to be surprised when she gets home.”

“Jerk,” you said struggling more against the man that was holding you down.

“We’re done here said the other man.”

“Well Y/N, I hope for you and your mother’s sake we won’t have to pay you another visit. The next time wont be very pleasant. Understood.”

You nodded frantically.

“Have a goodnight Y/N and tell your mother I said hello.”

When the door closed you slowly got up and winced at the pain in your ribs. Cradling your wrist you made your way over to the bathroom and turned the lights on you grimaced when you saw the extent of damage. Your nose was swollen and bruised you also noticed dried blood that had gone the way down to your chin.

Olivia Benson first walked into the apartment staring down at the mail in her hands. When she finally looked up her eyes widened in horror as she saw the mess of the apartment. The detective instinctively pulled out her gun, and quickly looked around the room when she saw blood on the wall her panic rose.

“Y/N!”

“Mom!”

Olivia put her gun back in its holster, the detectives’ concern grew when she saw you walking toward her. You had a bruised nose, and were cradling your wrist. “Honey, what happened?” She asked hugging you while trying not to cause you any more pain.

“Men barged into the apartment.”

“What men? please tell me what happened babe. ” Liv said grasping your arms. You yelped in pain and stepped out of your mother’s reach. She glanced at your arms and saw two hand print shaped bruises, “oh my god.”

“My ribs are also killing me.”

“How bad is the pain on a scale from 1 to 10?” Olivia walked into the kitchen and filled up a couple ziploc bags with ice.

“I don’t know maybe a seven” you winced now starting to hunch over.

“Alright lets get you to the doctor you can tell me what happened later,” your mom handed you the bags so you could place them on your injuries. She then helped you out of the apartment and into the car.

Your mom drove you to the hospital as fast as she could not worrying about the honking or raging from the other drivers. You managed to tell her most of what happened, you could tell she was furious not at you but at the men.

“They’re going to regret ever going near you,” this caused you to shiver at how protective your mother sounded. It always gave you chills whenever she went all “mama bear.”

You were now sitting on the examination table while you waited on some pain killers. Your mom stood by holding your hand whenever needed. You had a couple of ribs that were badly bruised, a sprained wrist that had been placed in a splint and there was a metal clip on your broken nose.

Cragen had been informed of what happened since Liv called and told him while you were getting X rays. Seeing you beat up made Olivia hate the men from Battle Tested even more. After getting your prescription and instructions from the doctor the two of you headed to the precinct. Fin had stopped by the apartment to grab you both overnight bags since CSU was already there. Although spending the night there wasn’t ideal you knew there was no arguing with your mom when it came to your safety.

As soon as you arrived you were met with looks of concern from the detectives who hadn’t yet left for the night. They were also angry about what happened especially Cragen and Fin.

“Honey, why don’t you head up to the cribs I’ll be there with some ice in a second.”

“You need help going up the stairs?” Asked Fin.

“I think I can manage,” you shrugged.

Your mom sat down in her chair putting her face in both of her hands. She was startled from her thoughts when she saw a small blue ice pack placed in front of her.

“Stop beating yourself up Liv, you had no idea this was gonna happen.”

“But it was because of my job...again.” Before Much could say anything else your mom stood up and went to bring you the ice pack and pain meds. She entered the cribs to see you on your laptop Fin retrieved from the apartment but it seemed like you weren’t really concentrating.

“Hey Sweetheart, how do you feel?”

“Sore, shaken up,” you said as your mom sat down on the bed next to you. She handed you your prescription which you took before you realized tears were running down your face. Noticing this your mom gently gathered you in her arms careful not to hurt you, and kissed the top of your head.

“My poor sweet girl, I’m so sorry this happened,” she said as you finally cried for the first time since you’d been hurt.

“I feel so stupid I thought you had gotten hurt, but I never should’ve let them in,” you sobbed.

“No no baby, this is not your fault,” she said continuing to hold you and rub your back.

“When this case is over I’m putting my papers in.”

“What? Why?” You asked shocked.

“I can’t keep letting you get hurt because of my job.”

“But you couldn’t have predicted this was gonna happen.”

“We also weren’t able to predict you getting shot.”

“But mom, think of the victims they need you. I’ll be okay I promise,” you begged.

“I don’t like seeing you hurt because of my job, You getting shot scared me so much.”

“I know, but I’m here, I’m alive just like tonight's misfortune. I just would feel terrible if you gave up something you love for me,” you said starting to get emotional again.

“I don’t want you to worry about me okay its supposed to be the other way around babe. I won’t quit for now, but only because your telling me not too.

“And you wanna catch the bastards that did this?”

“That too,” she said kissing your forehead. “Let’s put some ice on your ribs, doctor said to do it every twenty minutes.

It was the week after the incident when you went back to school and your mom had already been back too work after taking a few days off to look after you only because you insisted you would be fine and she still stopped by throughout the day. You had also been back in your own apartment as well after staying at Finn’s. You were happy to have shared the guest room with your mom since you woke up a couple times with nightmares and your mom would hold you in her arms until you both fell back asleep. Nick and Fin were also helped your mom move everything back since you were too injured to do so.

Your mom now glared at the man who was sitting in the interrogation room, Marshall had just agreed to talk to their DA. Her and Nick were about to leave the room when Marshall spoke again. “And how is Y/N doing Detective Benson? I hope I didn’t leave any bruises on that pretty face of hers.”

Your mom turned around as her eyes widened in realization, “You?”

“Not just me, a few of my friends. He leaned forward a bit, “her struggling to get out of my friends grip was very amusing. Sorry about breaking her phone by the way.”

Your mom felt anger flow through her veins. She rushed towards the man, but Nick got there first and blocked her.

“Nick, get out of the way,” she said furiously.

“Olivia I can’t let you do that. I know you wanna get back at him for hurting Y/N, but that’s exactly what he wants.”

Your mom stopped and glared at her partner. She knew he was right but her need to protect you felt stronger. Nobody hurts her daughter and gets away with it. Nobody.

She managed to get out of Nick’s grasp, “I’m not gonna do anything I just want to talk to him.”

Nick agreed but still stood close by.

Your mom pressed her palms on the cool medal table as she leaned close to Marshall’s face. She then lowered her voice into a threatening tone that sent chills down both men’s spines. “If you or any of your friends lay a hand on my daughter again you will regret it. I will send you to the morgue in a body bag, I don’t care if I go to jail, but nobody hurts my daughter and gets away with it, understand?”

Marshall stared at the detective in silence. The expression on her face gave no room to think she was kidding around. “Yes.”

“You’ve been warned,” she walked away and headed to the door. “Call Haden,” she said looking at her partner.

She walked down the hallway to the squad room ignoring the looks everyone was giving her.

“Liv what are you doing?” Asked Fin.

“Need to call my daughter.”

“Go pick her up,” Cragen said standing next to her. Take the rest of the day and tomorrow off. That’s an order.”

Your mom glanced at him and nodded. She grabbed her coat and said goodbye to her coworkers before heading to your school to pick you up for some mother/daughter time.

EP 13 opinion + illus

And it seems that the 13th has to be where our protagonist suffers the worst traumas...

I'm still digesting everything that happened so I'll probably have some ideas left out.

[SPOILERS EP 13 + LOTS OF TEXT]

Well I can't shut up one more second about Erika's empty expressions... Since Ep 1 that in no illustration does Erika's face match the moment, so my least favorite image is the one of Lance, Nevra and Erika... the faces of the 3 are weird, but Erika looks like a diva who is being pulled off the back of a stage to run away from a horde of fans, I see her and I can hear her saying "hey put me down! ", at no time, no way, just looking at the image, I would NEVER have imagined that at that moment Erika was "heartbroken to leave Leiftan behind", it just doesn't look like it, that's not happening at the same moment of the illustration, period.

We move on to Mathieu's image, the moment is hard (and badly written because if you buy the image no matter your route, apparently you make out with Mathieu... Another Beemoov's mistake, I mean if we have to PAY for something WHY THE FUCK IS IT NEVER DONE RIGHT? Was it so hard to change 1 miserable line of text depending on your route? Erika's face... again it tells me nothing, it's the face I used to make when my mother scolded me, “empty face”. While Mathieu is giving it his all, at least his face gave me the feeling of being in deep shit.

mmmmmm Leiftan, first of all and I'll say it ONLY this time, in what game Otome, you don't have any interaction with your route for more than two episodes? At least the way the plot is going I guess Nevra and co. will succeed and Leiftan will be back at the beginning of ep 14, right beemoov? Beemoov???? Leiftan will be back right, because this is an otome and he's my route.

Other than that he looks beautiful, finally his hair down, the timing does feel a bit anticlimactic, if you take away the couple of scenes that have to do with the image, it's like it didn't happen, Erika is like "meh, looks like I ate a lot before bed and that made me sick". honey... Leiftan has been missing for 2 days, his life depends solely on the threat Nevra made to your father, I would be hysterical, I would probably have to be sedated in the infirmary because I would have turned the whole H.Q. upside down by now, IT'S MY BABY WE'RE TALKING ABOUT. And this is just writing problems, because yes we have had situations like this, or did when Nath disappeared in MCL UL Amber went off to meditate? *disappointed sigh* always so close to glory and so close to failure...

Okay, I'm done with the images, now the plot.

I saw the doubt... I felt the instant of doubt in Erika after Nevra crossed the portal, even though she doesn't say anything, I felt that Erika at any moment would run in the opposite direction of the portal. What I liked is that most of the reactions seem pretty accurate to me, it's obvious that the head guards and Nevra have secret missions that Erika knows nothing about (that's why HH talked to them first and then to the bimbo, of that I'm sure) They ALL keep things from Erika, and I feel like I'll have to play this season again when it's over and all the little secrets come out.

It's all very hard and I think Erika is in denial, that's why she gets chatting with a soldier of her father's, that's why she thinks she can save Leiftan, that's why Lance has to take her away, because I wouldn't have left, because the thought that my father might kill me just can't get into my head that fast... It is already too much to assimilate that he directs the tortures, that in one night HC was tortured, she believed she would die there on earth, tortured by the men of her partner's father. Because it's one thing to hear it and believe it, and another thing to assimilate it, for your brain to absorb that information and function with respect to it... That's why I didn't like the "evil laugh" of Erika's father, it was unnecessary, caricatured, it broke the moment, he could have told his daughter that he will always love her and protect her no matter what, that would have hurt Erika much more, it would have made her doubt, it could confuse her now or in the future... well whatever instead of a ridiculous Disney villain laugh, a detail but you live on details. (I was a bit surprised that Erika doesn't even consider the possibility that HH might have sent his "shadow trio" to assassinate everyone in the command, her father included).

Despite everything... Nevra is one of my favorites this season, he is the leader, he is the boss when HH is not around and it shows, he acts like that, everything depends on him and everyone knows it (except Erika), he absorbs tons of information per second and adapts perfectly, they are running away from a burst of bullets (which he barely understands what bullets are) and yet he has the sensitivity to explain to Erika why they have to leave, because she does not see reasons at that moment, she is not a trained soldier, she is a rookie who does not understand about hard decisions, because it is one thing to make difficult decisions that affect you (such as the white sacrifice) and quite another thing to make difficult decisions that affect others. I don't have to understand that we have to leave without Leiftan, the feelings added to the lack of experience in this type of situation could easily cause an anxiety or hysteria attack, fainting or absolute despair, Erika could have gone crazy and destroyed everything in that lobby and I would have believed it.

Finally that's the big flaw of it all, there are no risks, when you feel something is going to get interesting they cut it, be it romance or plot, we all know Eldarya is more of a fantasy adventure story than a romance, then you have to take the risk like in the first season and deliver interesting arcs, In TO we had Ivonni, the myconids, the kappas, Naytili and Marie-Anne, all while corruption and war threatened Eldarya, it was interesting, each of these arcs were brutal and ended with deaths and lessons for the protagonist, character growth and the occasional moment with our route. Now in ANE we were introduced to Tenjin and what happened to him? Nothing, there were no risks, yes, a human died that no one cared about except Erika, so far we haven't heard from the kitsune king again and I feel it was a waste, and that's it, now on earth we have our father as a villain, and yes okay, it's pretty predictable, because obviously everything has to be related to Erika as implausible as it may seem, the arcs have moments that make no sense, that ignore or blatantly contradict what is already established and on top of that, for nothing. I feel disappointed with this season because it's very noticeable that it's just for money, it's almost an insult to the players that we've put up with so much (yes, I mean the fire), there's no love in ANE and I'm just waiting for a sterile ending... since Chinomiko left the team, Eldarya feels like the GOT seasons not based on the books, I hope for a similar ending... maybe Lance will burn them all like Daenerys and the truth I feel I don't care anymore, I keep a minimal interest for the lore they can deliver for my own fanfic... like many in the fandom and it's sad, I'm sad.

P.S: The whole Leiftan kidnapping thing will come to nothing, he's Captain Marvel in the MCU, they don't know what to do with him so they just disable him, Leiftan is too powerful to be able to participate in the main plot, and his relationship with Erika needs a lot of work (because they also gave them this bond that just makes things even more complex) to make it "healthy"... At this point I'm so confused that I don't know if the writers are geniuses or idiots (no offense) I mean, a part of the fandom that couldn't stand Leiftan now feel sorry for him.

ITADORI YUJI:

This boy will take like a good few hours before finally realising that you are in need of comfort - like he is clueless but not that clueless.

How does he come to the realisation? It’s probably because you don’t come out of your room for quite some time even when he knocks on it, you still don’t answer - this worries him quite a bit can’t lie.

However, when he is really clueless - which he is on some days - it is usually Kugisaki or Fushiguro asking him where in the world you are since they haven’t seen you all day.

Once he comes into your room and finds you in a down-hearted state on the couch, he would immediately go to your bed and grab your blanket before wrapping it around your body.

He would then ask your kindly on what’s making you upset and if you’re not ready to talk about it, he would patiently as long as you need until you are comfortable.

During this period of time, Itadori would prepare some snacks here and there like packets of crisps, cookies, chocolates and drinks before setting up yours or his laptop to open Netflix and continue from where you were watching or what you guys were watching together.

Itadori will legit pull you into his arms and tightly hold you close in a way to comfort you before looking onto the laptop screen to watch what he had put on for the both of you.

During the little movie/show, you would feel his stroking your hair or rubbing your back like he is distracting you from your previous emotions as you now just feel really comforted and loved the feeling of warmth that was now surrounding you.

Sometimes when this happens, you would fall asleep and Itadori doesn’t really mind that since he now knows that you are resting now - knowing you, you probably had overworked yourself again.

Even though you never stated why you were down and even though Itadori may not be the most intelligent person, he knows how to calm you down - he’s basically the sun in your life.

No matter how down you are feeling, Itadori always knows how you lift your spirit back up - it’s just his power that he doesn’t know he has.

GOJO SATORU:

This man will instantly notice that you are at a low mood since, during work you wouldn’t even react to his teasing in the embarrassed and aggressive way you usually would, you would just look at him before humming in agreement even though you didn’t even hear what he had just said about you.

So when you both are finally alone after a long week, Gojo will instantly smoother you with kisses upon your cheeks, forehead, the tip of your nose, lip, basically anywhere he would react.

He is basically trying to distract you from all your negative emotions and make you feel his love for you - because he genuinely really loves you with all his heart.

“What’s wrong honey~ tell me”

If you don’t answer him, he would jokingly push on with a cute voice before letting you have the time to tell him when you’re ready.

You are bothered to walk, Gojo will most likely take you to his favourite dessert cafe where he would treat you to all your favourite cakes and teas/coffees to cheer you up - like how does food not cheer you up…

Like sugar should lift your spirits up, right? Energy…..

However, if you are not bothered to have the effort to walk around, Gojo will most likely just pull you into his lap and cradle you like a child.

Sometimes you just want to be babied.

When he does cradle you, from time to time you would feel him kiss your forehead or temple before he would run his fingers through your hair - it’s kind of a win-win situation for both you and Gojo, you would slowly relax in his hold and for him, it’s like a coping mechanism.

When time goes along, he would make a teasing joke to make you laugh and if you do - to which you will most likely - he knows that he has done his job as an amazing boyfriend before spinning you around in glee, happy that you are now feeling better than you were a few minutes ago.

But this time’s going to be different, he knows it. His father will come back for him. And Lloyd’s going to wait.

In the aftermath of the battle, Lloyd only had one thought on his mind.

Cheers and whoops from the citizens of Ninjago City- and the ninja themselves- rang through the air as the realization that the Great Devourer was dead hit them. Lloyd hardly noticed, though. Gripping the handrail at the edge of the building, he peered out over the city. He was around here somewhere. He had to be.

“We did it!” Kai cried, grabbing Lloyd’s hand and raising it high in the air. “We saved the city! The Great Devourer is dead!” We? Lloyd glared at him, although the fire ninja didn’t even seem to notice. My dad was the one who seemed to do all the saving.

“Ultra!” Cole cried as the dragon landed on the street near the foot of the building. Racing towards the fire escape, the ninja hurried down the stairs and over to the dragon. Cole threw his arms around Rocky’s snout, the others not far behind. “You’re safe, bud!”

As the ninja and Nya laughed and caressed the dragon, Lloyd hung back, feeling lost. This wasn’t right. They couldn’t go on celebrating when someone was still missing.

“Where’s my dad?” he burst out, his voice sounding a lot shakier than what he had hoped for. “I don’t see him anywhere.”

The others exchanged glances. Lloyd hated the way they looked at each other, trying to decide what to tell him, because he obviously wasn’t good enough to know what they were really thinking.

Nya walked over to him, putting a hand on his shoulder and bending over slightly to put herself more at his level. Her eyes sparkled with regret. “Lloyd-”

“Sensei Wu?”

Jaws dropped at Cole’s exclamation, and they jerked their gazes towards where he was pointing. Sure enough, Uncle Wu was sitting in the middle of the street, in a pile of green Devourer goo, looking lost as he pushed himself to his feet. Lloyd closed his eyes, letting his breath out slowly. So at least one of his mistakes had been fixed.

“He’s alive?” Jay gaped. “He’s alive!”

Kai grabbed Lloyd by the wrist, half-dragging him over towards their sensei as the ninja tackled him into a hug. Lloyd reached out to put a hand on his uncle’s back, but paused. He had no place here. Don’t get me wrong, I love the ninja, but… I was never supposed to be part of this. I’m only here because my uncle is their sensei, because I’m their beloved green ninja.

Wu pulled back from his students, grinning- only for his smile to falter as his dark eyes met Lloyd’s red ones. He tilted his head in that odd, knowing way of his. Lloyd wanted to break the contact, but couldn’t.

“Your father is gone, isn’t he.” Not a question, but a statement.

Lloyd let his gaze drop to the ground, remaining silent. His uncle reached a hand out for his shoulder but stopped short when Lloyd flinched away.

“Yeah, and with him, our golden weapons,” Kai growled. Nya elbowed him, hard, and he yelped, rubbing his side and scowling at her.

“Weapons or not, we will see him again,” Wu told him, “of that I am certain.”

“Yeah, only because your dumb prophecy says so.”

Wu flinched. “Lloyd-”

“Do I really have to fight my father someday, Uncle Wu?”

He sighed. “One day, nephew, that time will come. But I can hope that it is not for many, many years to come, when you are much older and stronger and wiser. Until then, we must not linger on the future. You ninja have done well today. You should be proud of yourselves, celebrate your victory for a little while.”

“Don’t worry, bigshot.” Kai ruffled his hair. “You’re the chosen one. And we’re the best teachers there are! You’ll be more than ready by the time the final battle rolls around.”

Lloyd clenched his teeth. Why couldn’t any of them see? He didn’t want to fight his father. He couldn’t. His father had come back for him when the Serpentine had trapped him, even when everyone else had lost hope. His father had been the one to comfort him about their futures, the one to protect him, the one to fix his mistakes with the Serpentine. So what if he had taken the golden weapons? If it weren’t for him, they’d all be inside the stomach of a giant snake right now. Were the ninja really so quick to forget that?

They didn’t know him like Lloyd did. Even his uncle had never seen the side of him Lloyd had seen. His father was a good man who had made bad choices. Couldn’t the same be said for Lloyd? If he had changed, why couldn’t his father?

Lightning illuminated the small room, dazzling Garmadon’s tired face as he carried the blanket over to the couch. Sitting down, he gazed out the window, the pattering sound of rain against the glass both comforting and incredibly lonely at the same time.

He sighed, turning towards the hallway. “I know you’re there, Lloyd.”

A small boy slipped into view, a stuffed dragon hugged tightly against his chest and his wispy, whitish-blond hair a mess as he blinked shyly up at him. “I’m scared of the storm, Daddy.”

Garmadon shook his head, scooting over on the couch and patting the space beside him. Lloyd needed no further encouragement, running up to him and hauling himself up to sit beside him. Lloyd burrowed himself against Garmadon’s side, and he made sure to pull the edge of his blanket a little tighter around his son.

Thunder rumbled loudly, and Lloyd whimpered, gripping tighter onto Garmadon. He waited a moment for the boy to relax before speaking.

“So. Mind telling me what it is you find so scary about storms?” Lloyd fidgeted. “They’re so loud! And the lightning- I don’t want it to get me, Daddy.”

Garmadon chuckled. “So you’re scared of a little noise and lights, eh? Somehow, I didn’t quite expect that from you.”

Lloyd yelped as another rumble echoed through the air, this one seeming to shake the house with its ferocity. Lloyd’s dragon slipped out of his grip and he quickly snatched it back up.

“It’s just a process of nature, son. There’s no need to fear it. We are safe here.”

Lloyd glanced up at him with wide eyes, and Garmadon sighed.

“It’s like a dragon, Lloyd. The storm is a big, restless dragon who’s bored and wants to play. The thunder is his roar, and the lightning is his fire breath.”

Lloyd’s eyes glowed, and he shuffled anxiously against Garmadon’s side. “Well, maybe it’s not that scary anymore…”

Garmadon huffed a laugh. “Dragons. That’s all it ever takes with you, isn’t it?”

Lloyd murmured something inaudible, nestling his head in Garmadon’s lap. They sat there together in the silence of the room, and long after Garmadon had thought his son had fallen asleep, he suddenly spoke.

“Daddy?”

“Hm?”

“Why did you and Mommy fight?”

Garmadon breathed out slowly. “Lloyd, you know it’s not nice to listen to people when they don’t know you’re there.”

“Sorry.”

“Look, son. There are some things in this world that are more complicated than you will ever know.” Seeing the confused look on the boy’s face, he elaborated. “Sometimes, people say things they don’t mean. Sometimes, mommies and daddies need to take a little break from each other.”

“Is that why you’re sleeping on the couch?”

“I suppose so. But it’s only for one night, Lloyd. We’ll sort things out tomorrow.”

“Oh.”

Garmadon gazed out the window again, running a hand through his thick hair. He tried not to think about the dark roots he had spotted there earlier, staining his deep chestnut hair the color of darkest night.

That was something no one needed to know about yet. The red eyes had already been hard enough on Misako, especially when their son had inherited them. He tried not to think about what that meant, either. The venom wasn’t hereditary, was it? Lloyd showed no signs of the snappishness he had felt as a youth. On the contrary, the child was pure of heart and bright of soul, one of the sweetest people he had ever met. Garmadon couldn’t understand how he had gotten so lucky.

“Did I do something to make you and Mommy fight?”

“What?” Garmadon started suddenly. “Heavens, child, no.” Taking Lloyd’s chin in his hand, he titled it towards him so that they were looking each other in the eye. “Honey, none of this is your fault. This is Daddy’s mistake, not yours. We both love you very much, you know that, right?”

Lloyd nodded, sniffling as he wrapped his arms tighter around him. “Can I stay with you tonight?”

Garmadon rested a hand on his head. “Whatever you need, my son. I will always be here for you.”

“Lloyd Montgomery Garmadon, what were you thinking?” Kai ripped the sword off of his back, sending it to the ground with a clatter. “We told you to stay on the bus, and what did you do? Go after a bunch of pirates?”

“Yeah, kid.” Cole crossed his arms over his chest. “You could’ve been seriously hurt.”

Lloyd glared at them. “I was only trying to help! You never let me do anything!” “Because you’re not ready!” Kai put his hands in his hair, yanking on it in frustration. “Augh, can’t you see? We’re only trying to protect you! What good is all this training if you don’t even make it to the final battle?”

“Lloyd,” Zane said more gently. “You need to take things one step at a time. One day, you will be ready to fight beside us. One day, but not today.”

Lloyd looked away, pushing down the bubbling anger inside of him. This didn’t matter. None of this mattered. If the ninja wanted to treat him like a baby, fine. It didn’t matter what they thought.

All he cared about was his father. He needed to impress him. Make him proud.

“Lloyd? Do you understand?”

“Yes, Zane,” he muttered, avoiding the nindroid’s gaze and instead choosing to kick at a rock. The ninja exchanged hesitant glances, but they didn’t press him further.

Nya sighed. “It’s been a long day. What do you say we get back to the Bounty, and-”

“Sorry! You snooze, you lose!”

The group whipped around towards the Bounty, where the thrusters were powering up as several Serpentine peered at them over the guardrails- as well as a familiar dark figure.

“Dad,” Lloyd breathed, lunging forward- only to be stopped by Nya’s strong arms. He squirmed against her, but she wouldn’t relent.

“Lord Garmadon!” Kai cried. “He stole our ship! I can’t believe he stole our ship!”

“Come on,” Jay groaned. “We just got it back! Can’t it go five minutes without being taken?”

“The Bounty belongs to us,” Cole warned. “We fought for it, fair and square. Give it back, Garmadon.”

The Dark Lord gave a dry laugh. “Like I’d give anything to you.”

Lord Garmadon’s head turned- freezing as he made eye contact with Lloyd. The same eerie red of his own eyes reflected back at him. He longed to say something, anything- but his mouth was dry and words refused to come. He hoped his father could tell what he was thinking, anyway.

Please don’t leave. Stay here. We can work something out. We’ll fix everything between us.

Please don’t leave me again.

For a moment, something that looked like doubt flashed in his father’s eyes, and Lloyd felt hope soar in his chest. My dad might actually- he could-

“You’re getting stronger, son,” Garmadon said, “but never strong enough to defeat me. Give up and turn back now, before it is too late.”

No. Lloyd felt himself fumble as the Bounty rose into the air and flew away, taking his father further and further from him. No, he couldn’t be leaving him again, this had been his one chance to get his father back, to earn his love, but Lloyd had blown it.

I’m sorry, dad. I wasn’t good enough. I let you down.

It won’t happen again. Next time, I’ll try harder.

Next time, I’ll make you proud.

Their apartment was quiet that night. As Kai and Nya washed dishes in the kitchen- it was their night for clean-up duty- the others crowded around the TV in their tiny living room, playing video games with the volume low. Their usual yelling was diminished to nothing more than hushed whispers.

Behind them, Lloyd was curled up on the couch, already out like a light even though it was only seven pm. The boy was undoubtedly exhausted from the fight with the pirates earlier in the day, Kai thought crossly.

It took him a moment to realize Nya was staring at Lloyd, too. “Kai,” she asked slowly, working her jaw. “Is Lloyd okay?”

“Why,” he asked quickly. “Is he hurt? Did something happen? Man, I told him not to-”

“No. I mean… do you think he’s been acting a little… odd, lately?”

Kai frowned, turning to look at the boy. His brow furrowed as he slept, the corners of his mouth twitching downward slightly. “I guess. He’s probably just tired from all the training. We’ve been working him pretty hard, as of late.”

“Yeah,” Nya nodded, although she didn’t look like the answer truly satisfied her.

If Kai was being honest, it didn’t feel right to him, either.

Misako stormed into the room, dropping Lloyd into his lap with a huff. “That’s it, he’s your problem now.”

Garmadon looked up at her questioningly. “What happened?”

“What do you think happened? He bit me again! So, get him to stop.”

“What makes you think I would be able to make him stop?”

“I don’t know, but the fangs come from your side of the family, so it’s your responsibility now.”

“What do you want me to do?”

“I don’t know, you’re a smart man, you’ll figure it out! I’m going to go make some tea. Good luck.”

Garmadon stared after her but was pulled out of his thoughts as something sharp chomped down on his hand. He glanced down at Lloyd. “Oh, mister. What are we going to do with you?”

When Garmadon returned home the next day, there was a plump green dragon plush stuffed beneath his arm. He handed it to Lloyd, who was sitting on the floor, playing with his wooden blocks as he sucked on his pacifier. “Here. Next time you feel the impulse to bite someone, bite this instead.”

Lloyd eyed the plush with interest, reaching out for it with grabby hands and clutching it around its middle, pulling it close. Spitting out his pacifier, he began to babble to the dragon, blocks forgotten. Garmadon picked up the pacifier, eyeing it closely and sighing as he caught sight of the puncture holes.

When he glanced at Lloyd, the boy was chomping down on the wing of the dragon. Garmadon rolled his eyes, crouching down next to him. “Hey, what is it with you and biting things you like? C’mon, bud.” He gently pried the wing out of his mouth. “You’re going to hurt him- uh, it- hey, don’t you think your little dragon friend needs a name?”

Lloyd stared thoughtfully at the stuffed animal. “Buhbuh.”

“No, no, no, he needs a noble, dragon-ly name! Like Blaze, or Windracer, or-”

“Buhbuh,” Lloyd said firmly.

“..Buffy?”

“Buhbuh.”

Garmadon sighed. “The fierce and mighty Buhbuh? That’s what you want?”

Lloyd cheered, hugging the plush tight. “Buhbuh!”

The name wasn’t the only thing that stuck. Over the following weeks, Lloyd fell in love with that dragon. Everywhere the toddler went, Buhbuh wasn’t far behind. In his playroom, in the crib, in the car, at meals, even in the bathroom. Misako had spent twenty minutes one night trying to wrestle the toy away from him before he took his bath.

It had solved the biting issue, at least, although Misako often muttered that he had just traded one problem out for another. He dismissed her worries, telling her that Lloyd would grow out of his dragon phase eventually.

Although, that certainly wasn’t happening anytime soon. As Lloyd got older, he only got more and more intrigued by the creatures. Suddenly, everything had to have dragons- his pajamas, the shows on TV, his pull-ups, and his many, many toys. While his biting habits faded, as soon as he learned to walk, he was tottering around the house, roaring and flapping his arms like wings. Even as his collection of dragon toys and figurines grew, however, Buhbuh was always his favorite.

Garmadon should’ve known better than to think the carefree times would last forever, though. Ever since Lloyd had been born, he had been so much happier- and he was certain that the presence of his son was slowing the spread of the venom. But it wasn’t gone. It was a curse that the damned snake had forced him to bear forever.

He wanted to put it off as long as possible, though. He was happier here than he had ever been in his life, and he didn’t want to lose all this.

He knew if anyone could help him, it was his brother. Wu understood how much he loved his wife and child. He knew how badly he wanted this. He would do whatever he could to help. His teas and meditations had always been helpful in the past, and he hoped this time wouldn’t be any different.

“Do you have everything, dear?” Misako asked, helping him slip on his coat.

He lifted the duffel bag in his hand. “All in here. I’m ready.”

A sharp tug on his pant leg distracted him. He glanced down to see Lloyd, sniffing miserably. “Daddy, why do you have to go?”

Garmadon crouched down next to him. “It’s only for a few days, pumpkin. I’ll be back before you know it.”

“Why?”

Garmadon sighed. “Daddy’s been feeling…” he glanced at Misako, at a loss, but she only shrugged. “… A bit under the weather lately. I’m going to pay a visit to your Uncle Wu so he can help me with my… impulse control.”

Lloyd blinked at him, and Garmadon smirked, realizing that every word he had just said had gone straight over his son’s head. He ruffled his hair, standing again. “Don’t worry about it too much. You’ll be fine. Your mother will take good care of you.”

As he turned towards the door, he stopped at the sound of sniffling. Turning back to Lloyd, he wiped the tears from his eyes with his sleeve. “Hey. It’ll be alright, okay? Daddy will be back soon. You can even call me tonight.” Glancing around, he spotted Buhbuh sitting on the end table and grabbed him, pressing him into Lloyd’s arms. “Buhbuh will take care of you when I’m gone, okay?”

Lloyd hugged Buhbuh tighter. “Okay.”

“Don’t worry, Lloyd. Buhbuh is the best protector there is. And remember, I’m the one who bought him for you. Whenever you see him, you’ll know that I’ll always come back.”

“Lloyd, steady!” Jay cried. “We’re wobbling too much!”

Kai yelped, gripping onto Cole’s leg, where he was struggling to balance on Zane’s shoulder. On the nindriod’s other side was Jay, and on top of Cole, Sensei Wu balanced, unfazed. Below them all, Lloyd stood, trembling under all their weight.

“Uh, guys, are you sure this is a good idea-”

“Ahhh! Watch out, we’re going to fall!”

The ninja screamed as they fell to the ground, landing in a tangled pile of limbs. Lloyd quickly wriggled his way out from underneath them, and the others extracted themselves more slowly, groaning.

“You gotta find your balance, Lloyd,” Cole said, rubbing his shoulder where Kai had landed on it. “You have the strength to lift us, but you’re not focusing enough.”

“Well, maybe I’m trying!” Lloyd snapped. “I don’t see you down here lifting all that weight!”

Kai frowned. “Lloyd, Cole is only trying to help.”

“Well, maybe I don’t need help. You’re putting too much pressure on me! I could do way better on my own!”

Sensei Wu put a hand on his nephew’s shoulder. “Perhaps it is time for a break. Let’s get you a drink of water and rest for a bit, then we can try again.”

Lloyd begrudgingly shuffled after his uncle, grumbling under his breath. Kai watched him go with a furrowed brow.

“What’s got the kid acting so irritable lately?”

Jay shook his head. “I don’t know. But he’s starting to get on my nerves. It feels like he’s just being stubborn for the sake of it.”

Zane frowned. “Maybe he’s right. Maybe we are putting too much pressure on him. Supporting the weight of all of us is probably asking too much for a nine-year-old boy, green ninja or not.”

Cole shook his head. “This is the same kid who put a crack through Dareth’s floor. If he can do that, he can lift us. I know he can do it. But he just seems… distant.”

“We’ll keep an eye on it.” Kai waved his hand, turning back towards the training space. “But we don’t have time for his moodiness now. Lord Garmadon is out there somewhere, and he’s not going to wait around for us to sort out our issues.”

“Uh, come on boy, we gotta catch up with the ninja, I’m not gonna fall behind again- woah!”

Ultra let out a mighty roar, careening forward with a mighty flap of his wings and sending the reins shooting out of Lloyd’s hands. He only just managed to snag them before they hurtled over Ultra’s heads.

“Easy boy, easy! Look,” he sighed, letting a hand rest gently on the dragon’s off-white scales. “We’re never gonna win this race and save the dojo if you and me don’t learn to work together. Besides, I’m the green ninja. I’m meant to ride you, anyway. Imagine how impressed the others will be if we come back and I’m riding you like a pro! We can rub it in their faces what a natural I am with dragons, heh. What do you say?”

Flame’s head snorted, letting out a puff of smoke, which wasn’t the most reassuring answer.

“Hey, wait a minute.” Lloyd squinted, staring at the vehicles racing through the canyon below them. There was the familiar shape of the Ultra Sonic Raider, but above it-

The ship appeared to have undergone some design changes, but there was still no mistaking the vast, furling sails or the dragon figurehead. The Bounty was in the race.

His father was here.

Lloyd’s heart skipped a beat. His father was here- he could see the black figure now, helping some of the Serpentine to point a cannon at the Ultra Sonic Raider.

Ultra tensed beneath him, but Lloyd hesitated, holding the mighty dragon back.

His dad was trying to hurt his friends. Lloyd didn’t want to get in his father’s way, but…

He couldn’t let him do this.

Lloyd gritted his teeth, digging his hands into the reins. “Okay, Ultra. Let’s put a stop to this.”

Ultra roared, diving towards the Bounty so sharply that Lloyd had to grip onto the saddle for dear life to keep himself from flying off. “Get out of the way!” he yelled at his father. Garmadon lurched back from the cannon, eyes widening, but it was too late. Ultra was already slamming into the ship, sending both himself and the Bounty spiraling.

Snapping up the reins, Lloyd pulled back, steering Ultra up, narrowly avoiding crashing into the ground.

“Woooo! Nice going, Lloyd!”

Kai’s cry sent a flare of warmth through his chest, but it quickly dissipated as his gaze fell on his father, who was barking at the Serpentine as they hurried to get the ship going straight again. He had made the right choice- the only choice- but at his father’s expense.

A wave of panic suddenly hit him. He couldn’t mess this up. He had been given another chance to make his father proud of him, and he couldn’t let this one slip between his fingers.

“C’mon, Ultra, let’s show ‘em what we got!” With a jerk of the reins, the dragon was shooting through the air like a bullet. Lloyd steered him up, and Ultra did a graceful loop through the air, followed by a swift corkscrew.

Lloyd blinked, surprised at how easily his dragon was listening to him. Usually, Ultra was as stubborn as possible, but apparently he enjoyed putting on a show as much as Lloyd did.

“Quit fooling around, Lloyd!” Cole cried from the Raider. “We gotta win this race, and we need your help!”

Lloyd glanced back at the Bounty, but his father wasn’t even looking at him, just waving the Mega Weapon around as he yelled at the Serpentine. Lloyd sighed, guiding Ultra towards the guys. This obviously wasn’t working.

As the Raider sped over the rocky ground below them, it slowly shifted into a softer, lusher landscape- and then came the snow. Lloyd stuck his tongue out, letting a flake land on his tongue.

“Birchwood Forest!” Kai cried. “Oh, we’ll never get through all these trees to catch up!”

There was a roaring of an engine behind him, and Lloyd glanced back to see his father coming in the Bounty, not too far off. I still have a chance! I can still impress him!

“Let me find a shortcut,” he called to the ninja. “Ultra! Up, boy!”

Scanning the woods below, he quickly eyed out a path, then swooped down with Ultra, racing through the trees. “Follow me!”

The turns were sharp, and Lloyd barely avoided crashing into the trees on more than a couple of occasions. But he didn’t, Ultra’s movements swift and precise below him. Lloyd let out a whoop of exhilaration. He was finally getting the hang of this! Ultra was listening to him! Taming a dragon was no easy feat, his father would have to be proud of him now-

Suddenly, Ultra let out a pained cry, and before Lloyd could process anything, the dragon was being yanked backward and plummeting towards the ground. Lloyd screamed, clutching onto the saddle, and Ultra threw his wings around him, sheltering him as they hit the ground with an almighty crash.

Lloyd groaned, blinking stars from his eyes as something bumped against his cheek. When it finally came into focus, he saw Wisp’s head staring at him, grunting in concern.

“I- I’m fine, boy,” Lloyd huffed, grabbing at the dragon’s muzzle for support as he pushed himself to his feet. “What in Ninjago just happened? We were doing so well, now we’re going to lose the race!”

Ultra groaned, raising his left foot and shaking it, where chains clanked loudly.

“No, no, no-” Lloyd raced over, examining the cuff and finding long, curved bones secured tightly around Ultra’s ankle. “The Skulkin! They sabotaged us! Those scheming, no good boneheads!” Lloyd yanked desperately at the chains, trying to get them to budge. “Augh, now we’re never going to win the race, and my father will never-” Lloyd cried out as his hand scraped against the sharp edge of the bone. Immediately, Flame’s head was at his side, nosing him away from the cuff and whining softly as he gently licked Lloyd’s scratched hand.

“I… I just wanted to make him proud,” Lloyd sniffed, burying his face against Flame’s scales. The fire dragon felt comfortingly warm in the cold of the snowdrift.

Rocky’s head butted him softly, before carefully taking the edge of the cuff between his teeth and crunching down on it, shattering it into a dozen pieces. Lloyd sucked in his breath, giving Rocky’s muzzle a quick hug before clambering back onto Ultra’s back.

“If we hurry, we can still catch them now! C’mon, boy, we have a lot of ground to make up for!”

Lloyd didn’t win the race, but by the time the finish line came into view, he could see the ninja crowding around the golden winner’s cup, cheering. In front of them, Garmadon was yelling at the referee, insisting that he had won and that the ref had made a faulty call.

Lloyd’s breath caught in his throat. His father was right here. Closer than he had been since the defeat of the Great Devourer. Part of Lloyd wanted to run up and hug him, but he knew he couldn’t. That wouldn’t last. He needed something more permanent.

His eyes strayed to the Bounty, resting a little way behind the Dark Lord. With his father out yelling at the ninja and the race staff and all the Serpentine left behind in the Glacier Barrens, the ship was empty.

If Lloyd took it back- his father wouldn’t be able to fly away again. He’d have to stay. They could talk, work things out. As soon as he could get his father to stop running and just listen, he knew he could get through to him.

Lloyd eyed his father warily, but Garmadon was too distracted to notice the giant dragon behind him, as were the ninja. Quietly, Lloyd instructed Ultra forward, and the dragon padded across the ground, climbing up onto the deck of the Bounty.

“That’s not even street legal!” Garmadon was yelling. “My ship was clearly-”

“Your ship?”

His father whipped around, and Lloyd froze as they stared at each other for a long moment.

Please. Please, please, please. Lloyd reached a hand out. “Dad-”

Police sirens sounded behind them, and suddenly two officers hopped out of the car. “Alright, Garmadon, you’re coming with us.”

“Wait!” Lloyd cried, slipping off of Ultra and landing on the ground mere feet from his father. “Dad, it doesn’t have to be like this. You can-”

A screeching of tires, and suddenly Skales was pulling up in his bus. “Look who needs who now!”

Garmadon scowled, turning to go. Lloyd’s brain screamed at him. This was his one chance to stop him. If he did nothing, who knew how long it would be until he got to see him again?

Lloyd lunged forward, grabbing Garmadon’s wrist. The man looked back in surprise. “What are you-”

“Dad. Please. Don’t go.”

Garmadon fell silent, staring at him for a moment. Time seemed to stand still.

Then Garmadon was yanking away, shaking his head. “I’m sorry, son. We both know I can’t do that.” In two steps, he was aboard the Serpentine bus and speeding away.

No. Lloyd felt tears well in his eyes. There were others here, and Lloyd hadn’t cried in front of anyone in a long time, but he couldn’t bring himself to care anymore. His father had been right here. He had touched him.

“Way to go, bud!” Kai whooped, running over to him, the other ninja close behind. “You got the Bounty back- hey, woah, what’s wrong?”

Lloyd quickly tried to cover his eyes, but Kai was already crouched down next to him, pulling his arms away and gently wiping at his tears with the sleeve of his gi.

Jay put a hand on his back. “You’re not hurt, are you?”

Lloyd shook his head, sniffling. “I just… I thought… my father, I thought he would… I thought if I could make him proud, he would stop leaving…” Lloyd choked on a sob, burying his face in Kai’s gi. “Why does he keep leaving? Why does everyone leave? What did I do wrong?”

“Oh, bud,” Kai whispered, running hands through Lloyd’s hair gently. “This is what’s been upsetting you, hasn’t it?”

Lloyd whimpered miserably, and Kai hugged him tighter- his grip so firm, so protective, that it made Lloyd think maybe everything could be okay again, eventually.

“You look at me,” Kai demanded, tilting his chin up. “None of this is your fault. You hear me? None of it. All the people that left you were jerks who didn’t appreciate how amazing you were. They don’t deserve you. We don’t deserve you. But you’re our true family, Lloyd. We will never, ever do what they did.”

“You hear that?” Cole punched him lightly in the chest, his voice sounding suspiciously choked up. “You’re one of us, now, green bean. You can’t escape us, whether you like it or not.”

“Your father will never understand this, Lloyd.” Jay gestured at the group with his hands. “I wish it didn’t have to be this way. You deserve a father who will be there for you, one whose love is not clouded by dreams of vengeance. But that’s how things are. So you’re stuck with us, instead.”

“I’m sorry he couldn’t be here, Lloyd,” Zane murmured. “But we are. And we love you. So if there’s ever something bothering you, talk to us about it. We want to do everything we can to make you feel wanted.”

Nya crouched down next to Kai. “You and me against the world, bud. Remember that? We’re not giving up on you. Ever. So your father can stuff it-”

Zane elbowed her, and she grinned sheepishly. “Sorry. Now’s not the best time for that. But you get my point. I’ll fight stupid destiny for you, Lloyd Garmadon. We all will.”

Lloyd’s eyes welled up again, but this time the tears were happy as he collapsed against them. Five pairs of arms hugged him back, warm and strong and safe.

His father had left again. But that wasn’t what was important right now. His true home was here, with the ninja.

And he had hope it always would be.

Garmadon gazed down at the bundle in his arms. His posture was stiff and unnatural, his rough hands as gentle as possible as they supported the weight.

This was easily the most precious thing he had ever carried.

Lloyd stared up at him with wide, curious eyes. Every curve and inch of him was perfect- and he was his. Garmadon could see himself in the curve of his son’s nose or the outline of his jaw, Misako in the shape of his eyes or the hue of his skin.

He still couldn’t believe it.

It had taken Misako hours to convince him he wasn’t going to hurt Lloyd, and now, here he was, carrying his son for the first time.

His son. He loved the way that sounded.

Garmadon shifted his grip slightly, and suddenly Lloyd began to fuss. Garmadon glanced to Misako for help, but she simply shook her head, smiling.

At a loss, Garmadon cradled Lloyd closer to his chest. “Shh, shh, Lloyd, it’s okay. Daddy’s got you.”

Lloyd stopped almost immediately at the sound of his voice, cooing in wonder as he reached a chubby little hand out. Garmadon bowed his head, closing his eyes and letting Lloyd trace his fingers gently across his face.

Garmadon felt the tension ease from his shoulders. This was a person. A living, breathing being, and he and Misako had created him.

Nothing in the world could’ve ever prepared him for the wonderful gift of fatherhood. This was one thing in his life he vowed not to mess up.

“You’re safe, little one,” he murmured. “I will always be here for you.”

I know i’m kinda late on this but like S2 isn’t out yet so i don’t care

1. What month will season 2 be released?

August 😏

2. What episode will Simon and Wilhelm have their first S2 kiss (who will initiate the kiss)?

I feel like it should probably wait until episode 2 or 3. I think Simon should be the one to initiate the kiss because I think Wilhelm would feel guilty for not giving him his space if he was the one to initiate it.

3. How will Simon find out about August being behind the leak?

I feel like somebody should mention it in passing at some point and then be like “wait you didn’t know?” Possibly some students were just kind of talking about it casually and he overheard.

4. Will there be snow in s2?

It’s Sweden in the winter. Id be surprised if there’s not any.

5. Will there be any physical fight (if yes, who will be involved)?

Probably not but if there is i’d want it to be somebody beating the crap out of August.

6. Will Wilhelm abdicate?

No and if he does it won’t be this season. It’s too soon.

7. Will Wilhelm make a new public statement about his sexuality?

Yes but I feel like it would be on social media or something because the crown doesnt really want him to come out and then the video will go viral

8. Will there be introduced another queer character (can be a s1 character - if yes, who)?

We need some WLW representation at some point. I feel like Madison is a little queer, maybe not WLW more like aromantic? Idk. They said that they do have new characters they’re introducing, so maybe one will be WLW?

9. Will Sara become a boarder student at Hillerska?

Yea but it’ll only last a few weeks before something gets in the way or she feels guilty and returns home

10. Do we get a forehead kiss between Simon and Wilhelm (if yes, who kisses who)?

I don’t think so but if it does happen i think Simon would speak first.

Probably in like a flashback or i could imagine wilhelm finds an old video on his camera role of him and Erik and that’ll be a scene that’ll make me sob uncontrollably.

Definitely Wilhelm and Simon, probably Sara as well, hopefully August, and i would like to see the Queen finally break and start crying and give Wilhelm the hug he deserves so much, but that won’t be until the end of the season.

19. Will Simon and/or Wilhelm say 'Jag älskar dig' (if yes, who says it first - will they both say it)?

Yes and Simon will definitely say it first. Wilhelm will say it back.

20. How many times will we see Simon eat pasta?

Every episode. And with pasta sauce this time, not with ketchup.

21. Who will have the first kiss in season 2 (named characters)?

Sara and August even though i hate them as a couple

22. Will Simon and Wilhelm have any PDA (if yes, what kind)?

Yes but it would just be a quick peck on the lips or holding hands like i don’t think either of them would be comfortable full on making out in public.

Anyways yea those are my predictions, hopefully i’m right on some of them and wont look back on this in a few months and be like “oh honey you really had no idea”

in your expert opinion what are some of the most destiel-heavy episodes of spn? i stopped watching around season 7 and have no interest in engaging w the plot of the show at all but i’m in the mood for some gay yearning ykwim

Hi anon! Thank you for reaching out to me about this, I’m, no-joke, very flattered. I’d seen a couple posts on this same question, very thorough and detailed lists on Destiel-centric episodes, but at the moment I cannot find any of them, that would’ve answered your request much faster. So, in advance, sorry, my reply is probably coming in extremely late, but I did write this from scratch, so yeah.

Even though storylines in SPN can be very shitty and hollow, I do feel that to get the full Destiel experience -that long-drawn yearning- one would have to watch the entirety of the show, even if Cas isn’t in the episode or if there’s no explicit mention of their relationship/bond because it gives you a better understanding of them as characters and of how their relationship affects the narrative.

Now, you mentioned you stopped around S7, which is completely understandable and justified given the Dick plot game was very weak and, in my opinion, annoying (so little Cas!). I’m going to start listing from S7 in case you want to refresh your SPN before jumping straight into unseen episodes. Also, since you mentioned no interest in the plot and are specifically craving those sweet crumbs of gay yearning, I’ll skip most one-sided / too subtle episodes and cut to the chase.

Lastly, I hate spoiling things, but you’ve probably seen it all on Tumblr. I tried to keep the episodes’ descriptions short, as it might come in useful. Stuck to key words, quotes and/or little comments.

Season 7

7x01 – Meet the New Boss: Godstiel, sincere apology. Cas: “I'm gonna find some way to redeem myself to you.”

7x02 – Hello, Cruel World: Mourning. Trench coat melancholy. The heart-wrenching eulogy: “Dumb son of a bitch.”

7x17 – The Born-Again Identity: Emmanuel!Cas, reunion, longing, hurt.

8x07 – A Little Slice of Kevin: Cas comes back from Purgatory, but before that Dean starts seeing him in places. Very tragic; hallucinating your dead significant other trope. Has That boner scene. Dean: “I did everything I could to get you out! EVERYTHING!” Cas helps Dean see what truly happened in Purgatory and not his self-altered memories. PACKED!

8x08 – Hunteri Heroici: Hilarious, romantic, intimate. Dean and Cas have an heart to heart. They actually communicate. Cas “I’ll watch over you.”

8x10 Torn and Frayed: They work a case together, and when I say heart eyes…

8x17 – Goodbye Stranger: THIS. EPISODE. Dean “I need you.”

8x19 – Taxi Driver: Separation. Naomi to Dean: "You're hoping Castiel will return to you. I admire your loyalty; I only wish he felt the same way."

8x22 – Clip Show: Lack of trust, hurt, tense interactions. Romantic too (basically, Cas gets Dean an apology basket).

8x23 – Sacrifice: Meaningful conversation and a gay couple hit by Cupid parallel. Dean “So this is it? E.T goes home?"

Season 9

9x01 – I think I’m Gonna Like it Here: Dean prays to Cas IN.A.CHAPEL. Worry, longing, separation. Dean “Please, man, I need you here.”

9x03 – I’m No Angel: Human!Cas and jealous!Dean.

9x06 – Heaven Can’t Wait: Human!Cas TEXT-BOOK LONGING. GAY AS FUCK. Gazing, touching, they even TALK (for real).

9x09 – Holy Terror: Adorable Cas, flirty vibes, happyish, funny. Cas: “Cas is back in town!”

10x03 – Soul Survivor: ICONIC. Angel on Demon action! Cas turns down Hannah because he’s too gay and in love. Intimate Deancas talk.

10x05 – Fan Fiction: No Cas, but Destiel references.

10x09 – The Things We Left Behind: That.Lunch.Date. Deancas introduction to co-parenting.

10x14 – The Executioner’s Song: We get Daddy Murder aka Cain. This is a Pivotal episode to understand Dean’s character development. Plus, it has Deancas interactions.

10x16 – Paint It Black: No Cas, but Dean opens up in confessionary; repressed BISEXUAL AS FUCK.

10x18 – Book of the Damned: Charlie meets Cas. Gay energies everywhere. Cute domestic little scene.

10x20 – Angel Heart: PARENTING! Essential to understand Cas from this point forward.

10x22 – The Prisoner: Just… just watch it. One of THEE Destiel episodes.

10x23 – Brother’s Keeper: No Deancas interactions but it’s the finale, and I recommend watching it because next season takes off literally right from here. No time jumps.

Season 11

11x02 – Form and Void: Could skip to the very end which is when Cas comes back.

11x03 – The Bad Seed: Cursed!Cas. Dean takes care of him, even wraps him in a blanket. He also cradles his face. Extreme Hurt/Comfort. Jacting joices rejoice.

11x10 – The Devil in the Details: Could skip but has Casifer in it. Interesting to see his dynamic with Dean.

11x18 – Hell’s Angel: Casifer. Dean "It? It's not an it, Sam, it's Cas!"

11x23 – Alpha and Omega: Huggg! Cas willing to go on a guaranteed suicide mission with Dean. Very tender and sad.

Season 12

12x02 – Keep Calm and Carry On: ANOTHER HUG! Dean presents his boyfriend to his mom<3 Soft and romantic.

12x09 – First Blood: Reunion hug<3, Cas pining… as in he counts his every minute without Dean.

12x10 – Lily Sunder Has Some Regrets: Direct parallel with canon couple. Crystal-clear mutual affection. One of the best. Angel Ishim to Cas about Dean “I'm gonna help you. I'm gonna cure you of your human weakness same way I cured my own… by cutting it out.”

12x12 – Stuck in the Middle with You: A dying Cas confesses his love. “I love you. I love all of you.”

12x19 – The Future: We find out Dean gave Cas a MIXTAPE!!! Very romantic and full of yearning, also worry and what could be seen as a betrayal (ish…).

12x23 – All Along the Watch Tower: Hands down, one of the most distressing Destiel episodes. Cas dies.

13x01 – Lost and Found: This is the worst because you have Dean trying to assimilate Cas’ death. Core of Dean’s widow’s arc. Jack introduction, that’s their new kid.

13x02 – The Rising Son: Widow’s arc (you could skip it, but why would you?).

13x03 – Patience: Widow’s arc (you could skip it, but why would you?). Dean to Sam “He manipulated him, he made him promises, said, ‘paradise on earth’ and Cas bought it and you know what that got him? It got him dead! Now you might be able to forget about that, but I can’t!”

13x04 – The Big Empty: Continuation of widow’s arc and Cas wakes up in the Empty. The Empty to Cas: "I know who you love. There's nothing for you back there." // Dean to Sam “I need you to keep the faith, for both of us. ‘Cause right now, I… Right now, I don’t believe in a damn thing.”

13x05 – Advanced Thanatology: Suicidal and hopeless Dean gets his win. Cas comes back. Gives me the chills.

13x06 – Tombstone: COWBOY BOYFRIENDS!

13x14 – Good Intentions: Happy and fun Destiel scene. So Very Married.

13x23 – Let The Good Times Roll: Season finale, Dean talks about retiring (plans include Cas of course) and just very nice to see them interact.

Season 14

14x03 – The Scar: Reunion.

14x08 – Byzantium: Deanand Cas dealing with their child’s death, then bringing him back by Cas making a deal with the Empty. IMPORTANT EPISODE.

14x09 – The Spear: Cas uses the royal We – married behavior.

14x10 – Nihilism: Dean is stuck in his own mind, and Cas and Sam try to bring him back. Cas “Please, you have to -- you have to try to remember, because the people in your life -- in your real life, out there -- we need you to come back.”

14x12 – Prophet and Loss: Dean gets his very own Dr. Sexy, aka Dr. Cas.

14x14 – Ouroboros: Basically another date (their kid tags along) and They TALK. Very intimate and established marriage vibes.

14x18 – Absence: Shits starts to go south. [ Dean: “Who cares what Jack said? We don't know what happened! But I swear, if he did something to her, if she is -- (points to Castiel) Then you're dead to me. (Castiel looks crushed after Dean says that).]

14x20 – Moriah: Tense and very upsetting. Relationship very damaged.

Season 15 (I would advise watching the entire season because it relies heavily on Destiel. They’re the heart and the emotional motor leading the plot onwards.)

15x01 – Back and To The Future: Deancas’ in the aftermath of their kid’s death. Tension gets worse.

15x02 – Raising Hell: Tension rises, this is very intense. Cas “Dean. You asked, "What about all of this is real?" We are.”

15x03 – The Rupture: Breaking point ends in divorce.

15x06 – Golden Time: Painful phone call which speaks volumes about the current state of their relationship at the time. Also, good to see where they’re standing and how they’re coping.

15x08 – Our Father Who Aren’t in Heaven: Strained relationship so obvious they’re offered couples’ therapy.

15x09 – The Trap: MASTERPIECE. Back to Purgatory. Can (and is) taken as Dean’s love confession (because it is).

15x12 – Galaxy Brain: So married. Little domestic date, you can see LOVE written in their faces.

15x13 – Destiny’s Child: AU!Dean and Sam. Not a yearning episode per se, but AU!Dean? SO GAY.

15x17 – Unity: God reveals that the only act of free will in any universe he ever created has been Cas choosing Dean.

15x18 – Despair: Cas confesses his love to Dean.
