quietly begging for people to research pregnancy and child development for fiction
#it's super relevant for what i'm reading rn (politics and heirs and such) but. the way pregnacy is portrayed is driving me up the wall#it's like. either treating 8 weeks pregnant like it's early third trimester or completely handwaving everything else#child development especially of infants through toddlers also always gets me because i'm so aware when it was off#i was reading a fic earlier and i desperately wanted to like it because it was transmasc and interesting (transmasc pregnancies that aren't#uncomfortably fetishised !! but the actual pregnancy element was so bad i couldn't do it#pregnancy isn't even the main thing of the fics it's just a background general plotpoint. i don't do super well with it actually focused on#it's also babies who are almost a year old and can't hold their heads up. like. please friend. look up infant milestones#it's super windy and i'm too hot and it's 230am so i am thinking about this
