You were wearing GOJO SATORU's favorite white button-up shirt. [Part 1]
🔞 FOR 18 YEARS OLD AND ABOVE ONLY! 🔞
One sunny morning, while Satoru Gojo was busy preparing breakfast in the kitchen, he found himself clad only in his usual comfortable pair of sweatpants. He moved fluidly through the task, humming an absent-minded tune, clearly unfazed by his somewhat compromising attire.
Suddenly, he felt a presence behind him. Turning around, he noticed you standing there, looking excited. You were wearing his favorite white button-up shirt.
The sleeves were rolled up to your elbows, revealing your soft, delicate arms. The top buttons were undone, exposing a tantalizing glimpse of your cleavage. The hem reached your thighs showing off those enticing smooth legs.
He also noticed that you had taken care to neatly tie your hair up before going out of the bedroom, giving him a clear view of your neck when he looked at you from behind. Feeling emboldened by the knowledge that you weren't wearing anything underneath his shirt after your steamy encounter last night, Satoru couldn't hide his desire and appreciation for you. "Well, well, well... look who decided to wear my shirt today."
“How do I look?”
Amused by your playful antics, he poked you with a teasing smirk. Watching you turn around, your hips swaying playfully as you flexed his shirt, made his pulse race. The fact that you weren't wearing slippers added an extra layer of cuteness and innocence.
Raising an eyebrow, he couldn't deny your appeal; seeing you in his shirt was undoubtedly a sight to behold. Grinning devilishly, your boyfriend replied instead, "You should wear my clothes more often." Determined to maintain control despite the temptation in front of him, he forced his focus back onto cracking eggs into a bowl, whisking them until they formed a frothy mixture.
“Ehhh??? You didn’t answer my question!” Feeling frustrated by his lack of attention, you decided to employ a bit of childish behavior to get his notice. Lowering your lips into a pout, you suddenly approached him from behind, your arms wrapping around his waist.
Satoru paused, acknowledging your presence. He turned his head, taking in the sight of your puckered lips and petulant expression. "Looks like the cat has finally decided to show some affection," he teased playfully.
"Alright then, Little Grabby Hands. What do you want from me?" Despite your efforts to appear innocent and charming, there was no denying the fact that something primal stirred within him at the sight of you.
Sensing the warmth of your body against his bare back sent a thrill of delight through him as if electricity sparked inside of his body. The rigid length between his legs ached for another round of intimate contact in the depths of your wet folds. A mix of desire and possessiveness coursed through him.
“I’m asking if I look good in your shirt.” There’s a slight annoyance in your voice.
"Ah, yes. You look rather delectable in it." Satoru’s Sapphire eyes twinkled mischievously then he added with a chuckle, "Just as scrumptious as this omelet I'm cooking up for us."
He winked charmingly at you before returning to tend to his cooking again. Caught off guard by his bold compliment, embarrassment painted your cheeks bright red as you hid your face on Satoru's broad back. A satisfied smirk played at the corners of his lips when he noticed your reaction.
You stood silently behind your boyfriend, watching his movements with intense interest. He was so controlled, so graceful, even while cooking. His muscles flexed under his skin as he expertly chopped vegetables and seasoned meats, every action demonstrating his mastery of not only combat but also the art of living.
You noticed faint scratch marks scattered across his otherwise pristine skin. A surge of heat filled you at the thought of being the cause of these marks, knowing that last night was filled with intense passion between the two of you. Gently, your other hand crawled from his hips to his back, tracing those marks with your fingertips.
As your fingertips explored the rugged terrain of his back, Satoru couldn't deny the surge of pleasure that shot through him. He was acutely aware of how close you were standing, your hot breath tickling his skin, your body pressed against his. Each touch sent electric shockwaves flowing through his veins, heightening his already ravenous desire for you.
"You know, if you keep doing that, I might end up eating you instead of this omelet.” His eyes sparkled with mischief, taking on a predatory gleam that made your heart race.
“Shut up.” You blushed like a tomato again. It was as if his words caressed that sensitive spot between your legs that you felt it throbbed. “Just speed up the cooking. I'm already hungry.”
"Fine, fine my spoiled little kitten." With a smile, Satoru submissively yielded to your childish defiance. While flipping the eggs on the pan, he felt a sudden movement against his side.
You wriggled and squirmed behind him, finding an opening to insert your head between his bicep and ribs. Looking down, he caught sight of your adorable face peeking at the food he was cooking. Damn, he loves it when you’re this so clingy.
“You should let me cook too.”
“You want to burn the house?”
“You—! But I just want to cook for you!”
“Oh, so you want to poison me?”
In retaliation for being teased so mercilessly, you impulsively bit down on Satoru's muscular back. The sudden sting and sharpness caused him to tense up so involuntarily that he almost dropped the pan. Putting the pan down, he turned to face you.
With a raised eyebrow and piercing azure orbs, he took hold of your chin and lifted your head to meet his gaze. "You're really asking for trouble, don't you, y/n?" There was a mix of playfulness and challenge on his face.
“It’s your fault for being so mean!” You’re standing in front of your boyfriend, pouting again with the cuteness of a stubborn kid. Your lower moist lip quivering slightly while you’re folding your arms across your chest, maintaining a defiant expression.
As he observes you pouting adorably, his heart races, and heat pools in his loins. He bites back a growl of desire, feeling himself grow increasingly aroused. The image of you biting him while fucking you rough only serves to fuel his fantasies.
"Not entirely, sweetheart." Desperation fueled Satoru’s actions as he roughly yanked you forward, pushing your upper body against his and crushing your breasts beneath that annoying shirt of his. His thoughts were killing him.
He still couldn't ignore the thought of you not wearing anything underneath his shirt. While he was cooking, his mind was consumed by erotic images of your naked body. The persistent bulge in his sweatpants grew more uncomfortable as he struggled to focus on cooking instead of giving in to his primal desires.
“H-Hey Satoru, what are you doing?”
You swallowed nervously, your heart racing as you felt his bulge press against your lower belly. A mix of intimidation and arousal swirled within you, causing your legs to tremble ever so slightly. Your cheeks flushed crimson at the thought of what was to come.
"I'll teach you how to use that pretty little mouth of yours properly." Suddenly, without warning, Satoru turned off the stove. Before you could register what was happening, he grabbed you by the waist and lifted you up effortlessly, planting you on the kitchen counter. His shirt rode up, revealing more of your bare thighs while you squealed in surprise and alarm.
The clanging noise of the pans behind you filled the air, echoing through the otherwise quiet house. As he towered above you on the kitchen counter, his blue eyes looked at you with feral hunger and pure lust. It was an expression designed to weaken the resolve of even the strongest of women.
“Itadakimasu!” Satoru Gojo purred before pushing your legs apart…

Pls pls make an ot13 fic wherein the reader is an actress and an idol at the same time and she get paired with svt and they have a kissing scene or an intimate one. without anyone knowing, theyre daiting and the amount of teasing the members eill receive??? Just like juns recent drama
members teasing each other because of an intimate scene in a drama | ot13
*ੈ✩‧₊˚ SEUNGCHEOL
He’d try to pull the leader card, but it would NOT work, whatsoever. The teasing he’d get from Mingyu would be ASTRONOMICAL (he’d waited his entire life for that). It would also be Chan’s villain origin story, because that would be the perfect opportunity to take revenge for all those years the teasing (you can practically hear him laughing maniacally in the distance).
*ੈ✩‧₊˚ JEONGHAN
I feel like it could go two ways. He’d either be like: “you guys stoooop” (shy bean) or “I know, that kiss was hot, right?” (wink wink). Even though they would definitely tease him, he wouldn’t care that much. At least he gets all the edits and thirst traps now.
*ੈ✩‧₊˚ JOSHUA
They would give him a bottle of water with a label “holy water” and run off. But in the end, despite all the teasing, Joshua would not be bothered. He has better things to do (read: sing “Sunday morning” while crying over his cringy kissing scenes).
*ੈ✩‧₊˚ JUN
Well, looking at what is going on right now, we can tell that he gets some amount of teasing, but a lot of praise too. I think generally with Jun, they are proud of him for pursuing acting and showing his talent in something other than singing and dancing. Still, I feel like he kind of hibernated for the first 48h after the release, to avoid the clowning of the members (but he has seen the memes).
*ੈ✩‧₊˚ HOSHI
Villain origin story, part two: Mingyu edition. It would be his time to take revenge for all the mafia games AND HE WOULD NOT HOLD BACK. That man would follow Soonyoung everywhere and just clown him MASSIVELY. Soonyoung would have to lock himself in his house to avoid Mingyu and even then, the younger would spam him with messages.
*ੈ✩‧₊˚ WOOZI
At first they wouldn’t dare to tease him. They would be afraid that he’d close off after coming out of his comfort zone and starting in a drama. Jihoon’d be actually ready for the teasing, so when it never came, he’d be like ???. That’s when they’d release all their inner jokes about the drama and his performance (especially the steamy scenes). He would laugh with them and not mind the teasing.
*ੈ✩‧₊˚ WONWOO
He’d take it all like a champion. Nothing can break Jeon Wonwoo. Except for when he’d be alone. Then he’d turn into a babygirl and be like:🥺🫶, guys can you stop, please? But he would never tell that to their faces. Because he’s Jeon Wonwoo. 💪🏼.
*ੈ✩‧₊˚ DK
They would not tease him. Period. Instead of teasing it would be all love and praise. They would practically be shitting hearts and rainbows, because of how proud they are of him.
*ੈ✩‧₊˚ MINGYU
Thank god they aren’t living together anymore, because he’d HAVE to move out then. The group chat would be on fire after the first episode and the next day at work would be hell on earth for him. Some of the boys would take their time to learn some of the lines that they found particularly cringy and clown him with them. They'd also make kissy noises at him. He’d start to think about debuting as a solo artist.
*ੈ✩‧₊˚ MINGHAO
There would be no point in teasing Minghao. Would not care. Would not find the teasing amusing. Would probably turn the whole situation around and make fun of the boys instead. It’s all for the art baby.
*ੈ✩‧₊˚ SEUNGKWAN
The moment any of the members would even open their mouth to breath, he’d yell and walk out of the room. After a second though, he’d reappear and start explaining how it is all in the name of art and what it means to be a real actor (it'd turn out that Jeonghan only wanted to ask what they wanted for dinner).
*ੈ✩‧₊˚ VERNON
I feel like the members wouldn’t actually tease him THAT much. They’d be proud of him for doing something out of his comfort zone and trying something new. Yeah, surely there would be some teasing, but it’d more like love and praise 🥰 >>>>> teasing.
*ੈ✩‧₊˚ DINO
He. Does. Not. Care. Come on, after that many years of being teased and “bullied”, he would not give a single fuck. They’d try to make fun of him, but quickly give up, as they'd realise it didn’t faze their youngest, whatsoever. Chan would enjoy all the tiktoks and memes though.

the opportunity chapter 4
a/n: hey my fellow heimdall crusaders, i have made another chapter of this chaotic yet steamy serious. from here on this is where the good stuff starts to come wink wink but besides that im sorry it takes me a while to post i work on other things like drawings and edits too, which eventually i will post art of him.....eventually but for now enjoy this please.
warnings: just heimdall being heimdall, a little steamy, nothing else to warn you about you knew what were you getting yourself into when you clicked on this. IF THERE'S ANY MISTAKES MY BAD
It was another calm afternoon on Asgard, Heimdall decided to wake up early for work, standing in the middle of his room getting dressed. As clouded as his thoughts were, he only thought about the day before when he apologized to you, even while being outside on top of the Asgard wall and observing the area.
The wall is the only place where he can get a piece of mind with himself. These days weren’t busy for him, since Odin didn’t assign many things to him, you bother that man every thought. That look in your eye when you weren’t expecting an apology, he never saw that before. Speaking of you, “I forgot she has sparring today” he tells himself, taking a long walk back to the elevator.
Maybe today he’ll decide not to be a total asshole to you, not yet though. Getting off the elevator, he went to the town's shopping plaza, going to where Odin made you set up after the move.
Coming to the front door of the shop, he opens the door and is greeted by a sight to see. You were talking to a very handsome customer, that mouth of yours was brandishing a good smile Heimdall hadn't seen in a while, and this guy, this guy is making you smile easily. You’d smile at anything that can make you laugh.
“I didn’t know blacksmithing came with slacking off”
Heimdall being unannounced, you looked over seeing him “I didn’t know you were coming this early”
“Well, If I can get you out of my hair for the rest of the day, then sure” he looks over at that male who was talking to you, being on Heimdall's level and looking at him with a bright smile, putting a nasty feeling in his stomach.
The male opens his mouth, “I'm kamur” he knows Heimdall since he’s seen him once or twice whenever he patrolled the plaza, kamur could tell the look on Heimdall's face that he couldn't care less what his name was, and turns his attention back to you.
“I will find you later, y/n” walking out of the shop to tend to his own shop next door, the watcher's eyes watched him leave.
“Now, if you are done with your play date, I’d like to go ahead and get this over with” you weren’t in the mood to waste his time in any way possible, coming around from behind the counter. You’d made sure to close up the shop before following behind him to take you wherever you two were going. The walk was silent until you decided to ask a question.
“Are we sparring like last time, my ass ending up on the floor?”
“I wouldn’t mind seeing you covered in mud, sunshine,” he said sarcastically, “but all father wouldn’t be happy about that” looking over his shoulder at you, you hate to admit it, but there were a few times this man puts a scare in you. Not only was it because he was bigger, but he also beat you in combat, of course, knowing damn near everything coming at him.
You could say it was admirable, you thought. Earning a hum of approval from the aesir, was he reading your mind again?
Brushing from your thoughts, you realized you were back at the lodge, on this training ground again. “Since you obviously aren’t ready for a weapon, we’ll start from the basics” you stood in front of him, only looking up slightly since the height difference wasn’t too big. “Throw a punch,” he told you, feeling like he was planning something, but you swung, testing your fate, and he caught your fist before it reached his face, giving you a slight smile.
“Is that how you really punch?”
“Well, I didn’t want to ruin your face more than it already is” his grip on your fist tightened, as he got closer to your face, him being this close allowed you to examine his face more. Seeing a few beauty marks, a five o'clock shadow, and those bifrost eyes he’s so famous for.
“Hit me as if I'm a threat to you, commoner” gazing into your eyes.
Letting go of your inflamed knuckles, he stood straight again looking at you with a scrunched expression, telling you to swing again, and you did.
Over and over, for probably hours in the day, him blocking your swings, Maybe even stepping back a little. It wasn’t to mock or tease you, just to make you learn, it makes you swing faster each time.
“How did you learn to fight?” you asked.
“You can't swing, and talk at the same time. Way out of your league” he keeps catching your fist that came at him with one hand.
“That doesn’t answer my question, Heimdall” your question was met by silence as he continued what he was doing before.
He rolls his eyes “I learned from all father, he has taught me many things” You should’ve guessed the answer would be that, I mean who else would teach him how to fight?
“It’s quite impressive”
The compliment from you surprised him, looking at the very soft knuckles that he caught each time. “Well of course it is, I’m the watcher of Asgard” he holds your balled fist without letting go, looking at you. Becoming confused by him grabbing it, you look up at his face.
“Is something the matter?” You asked, there were a million things going through his head. Watching your eyes look at him with softness he hasn’t seen from anyone in a while, making his palms a bit heated and sweaty. Releasing his hold on you, he scoffs, putting his hand down.
“I think that’s enough practice for you, don’t want to drain you out” he crosses his arms, a lot of things in his mind were trying to deny him of that warmth inside him from that compliment. Throwing the poor man through a pit of confusion.
“You should report to all father about your training, I don’t want him to think I’m not doing my job” walking past you to lead the way back inside the lodge, he would never let any women blind him from his duty, but it seems like you're making it hard for him. Knocking on the door of all father’s study and coming in to inform him why you are here.
While you and Odin talked, heimdall leaned against the door just listening while staring at your backside, what were you doing to him? Everyone hated him to the bone, not one could barely talk to him but you, you can tolerate him. Completing him earlier, he didn’t hate it either, it was like scratching his ego more than it already has.
“I can tell you two are bonding a little more than how it first was” Odin comments.
“That’s only when she isn’t talking” there he goes, talking again without thinking.
You look at him for a second before turning your attention back on Odin, “trying my best every day, I can tolerate him” you tell Odin with a slight smile.
“That reminds me, tomorrow I will be expecting a guess so please behave” this was directed towards Heimdall and not at you, after his sigh of annoyance you bid goodnight to Odin before leaving. Heimdall, closing the door behind you.
“More people, more problems”
“Not every person who comes here is a problem” you walk up the stairs heading to your room.
“I mean look at you, your problem for me, intervening with things I usually do” he snaps back at you, watching you stop at the door of your room.
You turn to him with a look on his face he knows all too well, “do you have a problem with me?”
“I have more than just a problem with you commoner” he looks down at you.
You scoff at him, opening your door “And why do you think I should care?” Saying it in a baby tone only to mock him, walking inside your room with a mischievous grin.
“I’d be honored if the commoner cared, please you think I do”
“I have a name or does your ego block your train of thought” there was a slight spark in his eyes, a slight laugh that rumbled in his chest.
Stepping a bit closer into your personal space.
“You think you are so funny.
“I find myself quite hilarious, sunshine” there was that shine again, in those devilish purple eyes he always gave you. You were so focused on his eyes, you didn’t even notice how close you two were, feeling him take a breath each time. It wasn’t quick either, it was slow, his eyes looking between your eyes and lips. Mincing the same thing you were doing, his pink lips look smooth, you bet they felt soft too.
Not even knowing who leaned in first, but all you felt was his lips on yours, they felt as soft just like you thought they would be. Your hands found their way to his neck, and his slender fingers came to hold your waist, making him open his mouth wider, the kiss turning a bit sloppy. As much as you hated him, His mouth felt so good on yours, you bite his bottom lip, hearing a whimper from him, pulling away. A trail of saliva split after he broke the kiss.
Catching each other's breaths as you two stood there, Heimdall’s face behind dark red, lips looking bruised and wet as well as yours. He steps back a bit, calming down, looking everywhere else but at you.
“I..- heimdall”
he left, leaving in a hurry without giving you the chance to speak. If he didn’t hate you now, he hates you even more right now, is all you could think about.
——————
Closing his cabin door in haste, he starts to pace around letting words fly, asking himself why did he kiss you? Why did you kiss him? Even all these unanswered will still have an awkward encounter in the morning, did you bewitch him? What were you doing to him?
Leaning against a wall while looking down at himself, seeing nothing but a noticeable bulge on his thigh. Only touching the cloth member once, seeing how sensitive he was, cursing under his breath. He’ll just sleep this off and deal with it in the morning, he can always sleep something like this off.
“God damn, commoner”.
a/n: that bifrost on him melting a bit, I'm joking but i hope you enjoyed this chapter

Steamy Nights
Shouta Aizawa steaminess + suggestive language
Please note that y/n is obviously of age in this one
wc: 2.4k
Tell me why I got 🦋 when writing this loll. This man is fineee
Stretched out on Aizawa’s couch, you were waiting for him to get home after another long day of teaching. A little while ago he’d given you a key to his place, which was a big surprise since he values his privacy so much. Since you hadn’t been able to see him for a few days, you figured tonight would be the perfect time to use it. Work was really taxing on him lately and you knew he was stressed. Probably over stressed. To make the most of the night, you decided to set the atmosphere.
The apartment already had Shouta’s personality all over it. Lots of dark furniture and wood. Absolutely no harsh lighting, just a few dim lamps. His walls were scattered with some paintings he’d bought on your art show dates together. Old books and blankets everywhere. His sweet cat usually curled up in her corner.
He had a drawer full of scented candles. Your favorite was the cinnamon one but he claims it’s too sweet for him. Although you highly doubted he’d even notice the difference, he just holds random stubborn opinions sometimes without any good reason behind it. Just wanting things to complain about. Most people found his pessimistic grumpy attitude unattractive but...he’s just moody. An exterior shell. Inside was was soft and sweet.
You’d just finished lighting a few of the cinnamon candles and putting on some of his favorite music in the background when you heard the door click open.
He’s always so light on his feet. Sometimes if you weren’t paying close attention he’d come in and scare the life out of you on accident.
You rounded the corner, excited to see him.
“Hey Eraserhead.”
You always called him by is pro name when he’s in his hero costume. People usually assumed it was out of respect or privacy but he knew the real reason. You were teasing him. You disliked his hero name and his hero outfit. Recalling the day Present Mic convinced him to use it, you’d pestered him relentlessly to put more effort into it. Insisting he’d regret it one day. He said he didn’t care...but now look at him.
“Please y/n, when are you going to stop calling me that?” He said rubbing his eyes. He was low energy as usual.
“After you change it.”
“I can’t change it.”
“Exactly.” You whispered smugly.
He sighed. No matter how many times you had this conversation you would always win. Rightfully but he wouldn’t admit it.
You drifted over to greet him properly. Brushing the hair out of his eyes and placing a sweet lingering kiss on his cheek.
And as for his boring, baggy costume...you understood it’s purpose. He wore it to stand out less, aiding in his fight style. But it was still a pain since you couldn’t properly hug him in it. The capture weapon was always in your face and you could hardly feel his body through the layers.
His modest attire duped most people. Making his tastefully well built body underneath a best kept secret. Which you supposed was an upside. Only you (and Present Mic for some reason) had ever really gotten to see him shirtless.
“I’m going to change.” He said kissing your forehead. He knew exactly what you were thinking.
He reemerged from his room a few minutes later. Wearing a droopy black shirt and sweatpants that were loose around his hips. You could see the dipped lines of his V. Just north was his lightly defined six pack. And just south was unfortunately concealed under black briefs and his untied waistband...
He caught you staring.
Feeling red and exposed you quickly redirected your attention to something else. So are you hungry babe? I could make something?”
He declined.
“Okay...what about grading assignments. Do you want help to make it go faster?”
Declined again. Apparently he worked straight through lunch to finish that already.
You were beginning to feel useless. You’re supposed to be making him de-stress but it’s like he was so self-sufficient there was no room for you.
You sat next to him on the couch, his arm wrapped around you. You brushed some hair behind his ear. His long dark hair was always messy from his constant naps. Plus, you constantly running your fingers in it doesn’t help that situation. He was quiet. Massaging his temples. You could see the tension on his face. It made your heart twinge with pain. Just then you noticed his ear fully. He had at least six piercings on this one but he wasn’t wearing any of his earrings. Usually he’d put them on when he wasn’t at work but he didn’t tonight. And you knew exactly why.
“Babe. I have an idea.”
“And what’s that?” He played along.
He would take them out when he secretly wanted one of your amazing head massages. You always focus on his ears and temples just like he liked so he’d left out his earrings hoping you’d get the hint. This man could never just ask for something in his life. Luckily you could read him like a book.
“Come on.” You purred. Pulling him with both hands off the couch. He complied wearily.
Aizawa didn’t spend much of the money he made from pro hero work on lavish things. The only times he splurged was to buy you nice gifts. However, you did convince him to purchase one nice thing for himself. You knew he wanted it anyways but was just too stubborn to actually buy it.
A jacuzzi tub. He loves hot baths after a day of dealing with his “problem children” students. It was the only thing that could get his muscles to relax. And the moisture from the steam felt nice on his eyes.
Making sure to bring a candle and the speaker with, you lured him into the bathroom.
“Want to take a bath with me?” You asked sweetly.
“I wouldn’t mind that.” A tiny smile spread on his lips. You were too irresistible to deny.
“Okay you run it and I’ll go get the wine.” You sang excitedly. “But don’t make it so hot. You almost burnt my skin off last time.”
“It felt normal to me.” He said casually.
“Yea because you’re a psychopath.” You quipped before springing to the kitchen.
You guys had two types of favorite wine. One was for your long deep discussions about art and literature. Or when asks for your advice on dealing with his students because he knows he’d just lose his temper and expel them without your ideas. And the other, the pricier and far more potent one, was saved for special moments. Just like these. You poured your glass full, of course, but you filled his to the tippy top. Not only did he need it, but Lord knows tipsy Aizawa was sexy.
When you returned, he was crouched over testing the water temperature. His face gently lit from the soft glow of the candle in the dark room.
“I made sure to cool it off. No psychopaths here.” He teased trying to sound bored. But his voice was noticeably happier than when he’d arrived.
You instructed him to take a few sips of wine, desperate to get that show rolling.
“I know what you’re doing.” He said with an amused little smile. He swapped the cups in your hands so you now claimed the full one.
“Good. So then you should know exactly how to play along.” You said as you switched the glasses back with a wink.
He sighed in defeat. But that rare smile was still adorning his cheeks. He took a few y/n-approved size drinks.
His hair was falling into his eyes again. You set your glass down on the tub edge and pulled him into you. He wrapped his arms around your waist while you pushed his hair back and secured it in a clip.
“I didn’t know you were coming tonight.” He said softly.
“I know. Now that I have a key I wanted to come bother you a bit.”
His eyebrow raised at the word bother.
You panicked slightly. Hoping he wasn’t actually bothered that you’d come uninvited.
“That does sound like you.” He said as he kissed your nose. “I hope you do it more often.”
Your heart spasmed.
“Really? You do?” Your insecurities ears’ perked up.
“Why wouldn’t I want that?” He said in his deep sleepy voice.
A happy little smile broke its way through. You could only shrug in response.
You slipped your hands under his shirt and pulled it up slowly. Dragging your knuckles along the dips and bumps of his abs as you went. Gently you pulled it over his head. He helped by raising his arms which just made the rest of his muscles flex. Your heart started beating a little faster. No matter how many times you saw him he always made you flustered.
Your eyes were glued on him. His tattoos were now completely visible. Another best kept secret. They trailed around his shoulder, back and half his chest. You placed some honeyed kisses on his collar bones as you pulled down his sweatpants and briefs to leave him fully undressed. He was mouthwatering type sexy. The candlelight was highlighting all his high points in the best possible way. The music was perfectly complimenting your emotions and the sleepy eyes staring at you so lovingly were severely compromising your thought process. There were a lot of things you wanted to do with him suddenly but you focused your eyes on the goal here. A relaxing, hot bath.
Bath bath bath.
Reluctantly containing yourself you pried his hands off your waist and nudged him towards the water.
“Okay okay, go on.”
“You’re coming too right?” He said as he grazed your bottom lip with his thumb.
You nodded, butterflies erupting in your tummy.
He laid down in the water and took some more large swigs of wine. His glass was half empty before you’d even taken your first sip. He watched you undress with intent in his eyes, soaking in every curve and dip of you as well. He reached an arm out to you once you’d fully unclothed. He wanted his hands on you immediately.
But you had a goal here. Bath. Massage. Focus.
You slipped in behind him so that he laid between your legs. His broad shoulders nearly covered your whole body when he leaned back against you.
The tub was huge. Easily fit you both and could probably add another person.
“And now for my favorite part.” You announced as you switched the tub on its low setting. The rumbling under the water sending tiny vibrating waves around the whole tub.
Definitely worth spending his money.
Your hands rubbed every inch of him you could reach. His abs, the thick muscular sides of his waist, his biceps. You alternated between hugging his neck whispering cute things in his ear and massaging him.
Of course he was practically falling asleep as you spent time on his ears and temples. His head was heavy against your chest. It was so cute. You loved when he fell asleep on you.
But you knew he was keeping himself awake. He was rubbing your legs and the backs of your thighs. Squeezing and kneading them gently. Placing kisses on your arms and hands whenever he got the chance.
After about 20 minutes and one refresh of hot water, both your glasses were empty. He’d drank most of it since he’d downed the last few sips of yours too.
Wanting to see his handsome face again you shifted and positioned yourself to sit on his lap, thighs wrapped snuggly around his waist. After making sure you were fully comfortable, he leaned back against the tub and closed his eyes. He pulled you close and trailed circles with his fingertips up and down your back under the warm water. He loved the weight of you on him. You both exhaled a deep stress relieving breath.
The steam was working its magic, the rumbling of the jets felt so good massaging your legs. And his heart beat, you could feel it through his chest. It was slow and steady. Making you drowsy off him.
He noticed you were lost in thought, stroking his hair and tracing your fingers along the lines of his tattoo. He took advantage of this time to soak in all your features, watching you under drooping lashes. The flush of your cheeks, the delicate arrangement of your beauty marks. The far off expression on your face, he knew it well. He loved observing you when you were like this. You were beautiful.
“Relaxed yet?” You purred. Starting to tease him with soft kisses.
“Almost there.” He replied before catching you to deepen the kiss. Your soft skin and body heat was melting him away. He wanted more. Using both hands he pressed your back into it.
He savored your lips for a long while, becoming more and more passionate as the seconds ticked by and the wine hit his bloodstream.
You felt him shifting underneath you. Squirming slightly from the pressure that was building up. More butterflies. His hands clamped down around your hips.
“Okay your plan worked.” He smiled into your kiss. Eyes still closed.
“I haven’t the slightest idea what you’re referring to.”
He tapped his finger against the empty wine glasses.
You started sucking on the sensitive spot under his ear. You knew tipsy Shouta always got turned on by that.
His arms both constricted tightly around your waist. His hips were pressing up into you now with impatience.
“Let’s go to my room.” He concluded. You giggled, causing your lips to vibrate against his sweet spot. You heard the soft moan from deep in his throat.
He stood up keeping you wrapped tightly around him, carrying you with ease.
He half-heartedly patted you both down with a towel, his hand not losing contact with your ass for a second.
Before he could whisk you out of the bathroom you grabbed the speaker and candle again.
The scent wafted into the air around you.
“Mm that smells good.” He said distracted for only a moment before his lips gravitated to your body again.
“Oh really. So you do like it.” You said with the smuggest tone. “You’ll never guess what scent it is Shouta.”
He didn’t reply. Too distracted with kissing your shoulders.
“Cinnamon.” You said with as much sass and emphasis as you could muster.
He paused. Caught. How did you always get him like this?
He pulled back rolling his eyes with a smile. Nose to nose now, you pressed him further with a smirk.
He cocked an eyebrow at you. Looking directly in your eyes he said, “Mhm. Keep this same energy when I take you in there.”
And just like that he’d knocked down your resolve and your whole body started fluttering.
He carried you into his bed and you two “relaxed” for the rest of the night.

new york.
| draco malfoy x reader | fluff |
cw: a bit of soft smut, swearing
“Come on, Draco,” you grabbed his hand, pulling him through the streets of New York. His eyes were wide, and he marveled at everything.
Before dating you, Draco had stayed in the wizard world, barely leaving London. He kept within places of magic, and had never really seen muggle life.
Now, the two of you were eighteen, and you’d managed to free him from a summer at Malfoy Manor. He’d agreed to go to America with you for the summer, though he was extremely hesitant to spend a summer in the muggle world.
“New York IS magical!” You had insisted to Draco, and he gave in once he realized how happy it would make you. And secretly, he was curious to see where you had grown up.
Oh, and that you had braved your entire Christmas break at Malfoy Manor, under the scrutiny of Lucius, who was incredibly unfriendly and unwelcoming to his son’s mudblood girlfriend.
“We’re staying in my apartment. It’ll be just us, Draco. You don’t need to worry about impressing anyone,” you had promised your anxious boyfriend.
Now, Draco’s silver eyes couldn’t take in all of Times Square. He looked like a startled child, and you giggled at his wide eyes.
“This is crazy, Y/N, everything is all lit up-” Draco gaped at the signs. You walked slower, keeping in time with him as he took it all in. Your hand held onto his arm, keeping you together as you navigated the busy square.
You looked up at the sky, dark clouds hanging heavy overhead. Thunder boomed in the distance, just over the sound of the street.
“It’s going to rain. Time for an indoor activity,” you broke Draco from his trance, and the two of you made it to a small staircase outside of a building. Draco hesitated, and you dragged him down into the underbelly of the city, into a lounge you frequented whenever you were in the city.
You were greeted by buzzing neon lights, printed carpet, and arcade machines. Everything was retro, looking like you’d stepped into the 80s. You ordered soda before pulling your boyfriend to an arcade game. He looked unsure, and you grinned at him, setting your things down.
“What is this?” Draco asked, looking around curiously.
“This is an arcade. We play these games, I’ll show you.” You put a coin in the slot of the machine and showed Draco how to play Pac-Man.
“Want to try?” You asked, moving over to let him try after you finished demonstrating. He nodded, gingerly pressing the buttons. A frown knitted on his face as he struggled, not doing near as well as you.
“Can I try again?!”
“Sure, babe.” You slipped another coin in the slot, and he attempted a second time, still barely making any points.
“Draco, it’s just a game, relax,” you smoothed yourself hands down his arms as he tensed up with frustration. It was taking all of your strength not to laugh at him as he fought with the game.
“I can’t even win against a bloody muggle contraption-” Draco huffed and a couple teenagers turned their heads.
“It’s alright, they’re hard. Some take practice. Let’s try another one.” You sipped on your sprite, giving Draco a quick kiss to calm him down. He hummed softly and followed you to a different game. Thankfully, he was slightly better at the second one, and his bad mood faded with your encouragement.
You spent the entire afternoon there, eventually swapping arcade games to bowl in the alley at the back. You knew Draco was using magic, because he striked every time. You rolled your eyes as onlookers stared in awe, and he grinned at you with a wink.
“It’s not fun if you cheat.” You told him, and he kissed you.
“No, but I’ll play fair next round.” You let him, knowing he wanted to redeem himself of being embarrassingly shit at the games.
You had only dropped your bags at your apartment, but the two of you had been out since your flight landed this morning. You were starting to get tired, and you could sense Draco was too.
“I’m starving, and the rain has let up. Want to get something to eat?” You asked Draco, and he nodded, holding out his hand for you to take. You grinned and intertwined your fingers, walking out to the damp street with him.
“Come on, there’s a great deep dish pizza place closer to my apartment.” You led him into the subway, and his arm wrapped around your waist protectively as you waited for your train. His chest was pressed to your back, his grip on you secure.
“We’re safe.” You rubbed his arm that was under your ribs, but he didn’t relax. You rode the train downtown a bit, before getting off in lower manhattan.
“It’s just up here.” You told him, tightening your jacket as the night got colder. The two of you walked half a block into a New York deep dish pizza parlor, and Draco smiled at the delicious smell as you entered.
“Two,” you said to the waiter, and he sat you down at a booth in the corner. Draco’s hand rested on your knee, and the two of you ordered their restaurant original pizza, sipping on ginger beer as you waited.
“This is your New York?”
You hummed, nodding in response. He kissed your cheek sweetly, openly affectionate with you in the public setting.
“Tomorrow we’ll go to the MET so you can see the art,” you said, reaching up to brush a stray piece of hair from his face. He leaned down and kissed you softly, one of his arms around your shoulders as the two of you sat on the same side of the table.
“I’m excited.”
“Me too, it will be fun!” You agreed. You turned as the waiter set down the pizza in front of the two of you, and Draco’s eyebrows shot up.
“This is huge, Y/N!”
The waiter smiled and left you alone, and you sliced off a piece, handing it to him before serving yourself.
“We’ll put the leftovers in the fridge at home. Try it. You’ll like it, I promise.” You encouraged him, and he did so with excitement.
“Oh my gods, this is so good!” He exclaimed, making you giggle.
“New York isn’t half bad, is it?”
He shook his head, silver eyes shining. You enjoyed your pizza, watching people walk by out the window. Draco had already expressed his anxiety over not only the amount of traffic in New York, but also of the cars driving on the wrong side of the street. You giggled at his disdain for the incessant honking, used to the quiet serenity of Malfoy Manor.
You were yawning by the time you walked the last three blocks to your apartment, Draco’s hand on your lower back as you slid your key into the lock. You let yourselves in, kicking off your shoes and losing your jackets in the hall. Draco took his time looking at your apartment now that you had time, and you let him wander as you put your extra pizza in the fridge.
You watched him run his fingers over your books and look at plants and various things of yours that were set around. You leaned in the doorway, unnoticed by him, observing him peek into your life. He picked up a small stuffed bunny off of your bookshelf, an endearing smile on his face as he carefully set it back down.
“I love your room,” Draco said when you stepped in, wrapping your arms around his waist and resting against his back.
“Thank you.”
“Let’s wash the city off,” you said, tossing your jeans into the bin, stripping off the rest of your clothes as he watched, following suit.
You giggled as he chased you into the bathroom, lightly tickling your sides. You turned on the shower, stepping under hot water and pulling your boyfriend in with you. He kissed you deeply, water running over your bodies. He squeezed soap onto his hands and began to glide them over your skin, squeezing your ass in the process. He definitely spent extra time on your chest, and you did the same to him, washing him up. Your giggles echoed in the shower chamber, and Draco left hot kisses over your neck, shoulder, and chest.
Draco lifted you onto the wide tile shelf, kissing you deeply, his tongue invading your mouth. Your fingers tangled into his wet hair, and you spread your legs for him to stand between.
A loud moan escaped you as he slowly entered you, a slight discomfort forming as a result of your lack of regular sex at the castle.
“Please— fuck— move,” you begged Draco, dragging your nails up his back.
He obliged happily, fucking you slowly, careful not to be too rough. Your chest was heaving, your body on fire against the cold tile of the shower, everything slick and steamy. Draco’s mouth moved along your neck and jaw, and your head was spinning as his hips repeatedly met yours.
“Need to feel you come around me, love,” Draco murmured, tweaking your nipples lightly, drawing a squeal from you.
“I’m close, just, a little faster,” you panted, gripping his shoulders. Within minutes you were coming undone, and you wouldn’t collapsed if it wasn’t for the shelf holding most of your weight. You felt Draco’s orgasm follow, leaving you both lightheaded and airy.
“Give me a minute before I can stand up.” You laughed, holding onto his arm to steady you.
The two of you finished getting clean, and you dried off before going to your bed. Your head rested on his chest, fingers tracing shapes over his milky skin until you fell asleep.
You woke up the next morning to soft noises in the kitchen. You got up and pulled Draco’s t shirt over your head, walking out to the kitchen to find Draco struggling.
“I was going to bring you some tea in bed but I can’t find the kettle.” He complained, and you giggled, shaking your head.
“What? Why’re you laughing at me?” He demanded, and you held his cheeks and kissed him.
“Hand me two cups, Malfoy.” You ordered, using his last name. His nose scrunched up, and he bit back the urge to complain about how you addressed him.
He obeyed you, and you filled the cups with filtered water, and put them in the microwave.
“You’re joking-” he started, and you cut him off with another kiss.
“We’re in america, sweetheart. I haven’t got a kettle.”
He was disturbed by your lack of kettle, but he trusted you to make good tea, and he didn’t want to upset you by judging your American ways. The term mudblood pricked into the back of his mind, instilled by his horrid father. He pushed the thought away, and wrapped his arms around you. He didn’t speak, but he hugged you tightly, and you rested against him.
“I love you,” his voice was full of such urgency, you didn’t know what had crossed his mind that made him feel the need to hold you so tightly and remind you of his affection.
“I love you too, Draco.” You touched his face gently, looking into his eyes.
You broke away to drop tea bags into your now-hot water. You put a bit of cream in Draco’s how he preferred it, and he kissed your cheek, pulling the two of you back to bed with your tea.
“We can get ready after this.” You decided, enjoying the warmth of your bed. Draco loved your tea, and he finished his more quickly than you. He traced the flowers printed on the duvet, listening to you talk about the museum you were taking him to.
He was enjoying the city so far, even though the noise had kept him up. He got dressed and admired you in a little white sundress. You spun around for him, and he kissed your lips, catching you and pulling you into him.
He couldn’t keep off of you now that the two of you had space. You’d graduated, and you were free. You could openly be loving without the judgement of teachers or other students, and no one was around that Draco had to protect his reputation from.
He was always kissing you, holding your hand, or letting his hand rest on your knee now that you were away from judgemental gazes. He enjoyed just being with you. Draco was much more relaxed away from his family and aristocratic peers, and your life together in America was coming a solid reality.
Draco’s thumb brushed over the back of your hand as the two of you ascended the steps up to the MET. You turned, grinning at him in the sunshine, and you pushed up on your toes, kissing him sweetly.
“I love you!” Draco announced when you dropped back down from kissing him, and you wrapped your arms around his neck.
“I love you too, Draco.”
He let you pull him inside, and the two of you spent the entire day wandering through the endless rooms in the art museum, admiring the paintings, drawings, sculptures, and artifacts.
Draco’s eyes lit up at the sketches of the dancers, he studied them for a long time.
“I think I’d like to try art.” Draco informed you, and you looked up at him.
“You should, I think you’d be good at it.” You spoke encouragingly, and he smiled down at you.
“Do you mean that?”
“I do.” You rubbed his arm and kissed his shoulder.
“Come on, I want to see the impressionists. That’s my favorite part of this place.”
He followed you, standing behind you as you admired the paintings. His arms were around your waist, and his head rested on your shoulder as he looked at the paintings with you.
You stayed at the museum until it closed, going home and eating the leftover pizza on the balcony. You handed Draco a sketchbook you had, and some pens, earning a smile.
“I can use them?”
“Of course.” You nodded, and he began to sketch you, sitting there. You listened to the cars below, and happy people singing in an apartment above yours. His sketch was beautiful, and you smiled at him dreamily.

———————————————————————
The familiar echo of the Hogwarts bell never failed to make you jump out of your skin. Especially when you were currently eyeing a class full of students in eerie silence, broken only by the occasional drop of a quill. Their practice exam required lack of noise to the point where you swore you could hear the movements of your ribs as you inhaled and exhaled.
The ringing sound echoed throughout the class for a short moment, the students in front of you all placing their quills down and forming a line towards your desk, their parchment in hand and some of their faces rather sullen. It was only a practice exam, but the real deal was coming up in a few weeks and revisions were taking up a majority of their free time. You couldn’t tell if their expressions were from the work they just did or from the lack of sleep.
You remembered your exam days at Hogwarts. Long, dreary nights in the common room by the fire until the sun came up, your eyes burning out of your scalp from reading scribbles and notes all night long. Those really were the days, weren’t they?
“I don’t think I did so well, Professor,” one of your students, a fourth year Hufflepuff, said with a defeated tone to his voice, “I couldn’t remember the proper spell.”
You had found it rather odd that for a Charms class, the students had to do a written practice exam. It wasn’t your decision — but you surely questioned it.
“It’s alright, Edwards,” you grinned back, “It’s not the final thing. This will only prepare you for the one you take in two weeks. Remember, that one is a performance exam. If you’ve got your wand movements down, you’ll be all set.”
The boy nodded, no trace of a smile on his face as he turned away and trudged out of the class, his overly heavy backpack hanging off of his shoulder.
A frown formed on your lips as the next student walked towards your desk, a confident smile on her face as she handed you her exam paper, “Have a good day, Professor!”
You were about to wish her a good day in return, but a figure by the door caught your attention instead.
Fred Weasley — or, rather, known to his students as Professor Weasley — stood with his hands in his pockets, his button up shirt tucked tightly into his slacks. His hair was short, standing up and looking soft as ever.
He shot you a quick wink, causing you to shake your head with a small laugh before you returned to collecting exams. You couldn’t give away that you were, indeed, dating a fellow professor. You were sure, due to the countless times you’ve popped in and out of each other’s classes, that some of them were suspicious. But you could hardly think about that too much without getting paranoid.
Your students filed out of the classroom one by one, each of them excited to finally be on lunch break. You could hear a few of them mutter a quick ‘good afternoon, Professor Weasley’ as they passed by him in the doorway, none of them striking any sort of conversation, much to your pleasure.
“And what can I help you with?” you grinned, standing up from your chair and placing a clip around the stack of papers, sitting them down in the corner of your desk so you could remember to take them with you and look at them in your office later in the evening. You much preferred to do your grading and marking at night — you felt much more ‘in the zone,’ so to speak.
He walked over to you, hands still in his pockets, “What? Can’t pay my girl a visit during breaks?”
You scoffed, taking out a large stack of paper from your desk drawer and preparing for the class of sixth years you had after your break. Fred was inching closer to you with each passing second, taking strides with his long legs as if time was running out and he was trying to get to you as soon as possible without running. You stifled a laugh at his movements.
“Considering no one knows I’m your girl, I’d say no,” you replied, giving him a small smirk, “We don’t want to get caught like last time do we?”
You mentally cringed, thinking back to when fellow professor Neville Longbottom caught you and Fred at the Hogwarts staff Christmas party, your bodies nearly flushed to each other and his head dipping down to whisper in your ear. That might not be a giveaway, but considering the nature of Fred’s words and the way your eyes grew wide as you gave him a slap across the chest, it was a bit of a statement. Neville had asked you that night if anything was going on between you two, to which you replied ‘it’s late, I need to leave.’
“Well, it would be a shame for the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher to be dating the Charms teacher,” he said, a fake grimace on his face, “You’re only the most brilliant person in this entire school. I would be so ashamed if people knew. The highest held Professor, me, dating you, the lowly Charms teacher — a tragedy, really.”
“Oh, excuse me,” you placed a hand over your chest, stepping closer to him and leaning against the edge of your desk, “A shame, you say? I’ll have you know people much prefer my class to yours, anyways. Actually, just this morning, a group of Hufflepuffs told me they liked me best.”
The corner of his lip curved up into a smirk, leaning closer and wrapping his arms around your waist, his hips leaning against yours. You felt his hands slide lower down your back, giving your bottom a quick squeeze.
“Hands off, Freddie,” you poked him in the chest, “This relationship has now become a competition.”
He pursed his lips, “Well, can the academic competition start tomorrow after we perform the, to kindly put it, physical competition in my room tonight.”
You slid away from him, shaking your head, “You are unbelievable.”
“Well, believe it, love,” even though you weren’t facing him, you could hear the smirk in his voice, “This is all yours.”
“Uh, Professor Y/L/N?”
You spun on the spot, colour draining completely from your face. You heard Fred let out an awkward cough, facing the doorway where someone now stood. One of the students from your previous class was standing awkwardly, books in her arms and a confused look on her face.
“Oh, hello, Miss Myers,” you sighed, running a hand down your face, “Professor Weasley, do you mind giving us a moment?” Your cheeks felt like they were on fire, and the temperature in the room was now a million degrees warmer than it previously was.
Fred grumbled a quick ‘of course,’ and made his way out of the room, turning to give you a wide-eyed expression before closing the door behind him. You let out a deep sigh, falling back into your chair, tossing your hair over your shoulder and looking over at your student.
“Did I interrupt something?” she asked, clearly fighting a grin.
You waved your hand, “No! No,” you tried your best to act nonchalant, letting your student take a seat in front of you, “So, what can I help you with?”
She began expressing her worries for the upcoming exam, all the while you tried giving her the best tips and advice on how to study her charms carefully and safely. You couldn’t count the number of times students had tried their spells outside of the class and had something go horribly wrong. No one wanted to deal with that again.
Though, you kept wondering what she meant by ‘interrupting something.’
You knew that she didn’t mean it in an accusatory manner — you weren’t all cozied up to Fred when she walked in. She couldn’t have seen anything, could she? Even if she did, who would she tell? Headmistress McGonagall was well aware of your relationship with Fred. But she was the only one who knew. You didn’t want to even think about the rumours that would spread if word broke out about your — to put it scandalously — affair.
You honestly weren’t sure what was holding you back from just announcing it. If McGonagall approved, what’s the worst that could happen?
“Thanks for the help, Professor,” Miss Myers’ voice cut your internal rambling short, causing you to shake your head.
“No problem, my door is always open,” you grinned, motioning your hand in the direction of the door. She gave you a bright grin and picked up her backpack, turning to give you a little wave before making her way out of the classroom, once again, the door shutting closed behind her.
A loud groan left your lips before you dropped your head, letting your forehead smack loudly against the hardwood surface.
———————————————————————
The next two weeks felt like a whirlwind. Not only was the end of term approaching as rapidly as ever, but because your fifth years were rushing towards you every hour of the day to prepare for their OWLs, you were feeling rather happy that you only had a few days left before you were out of here. A lot of them seemed to get the hang of their Charms abilities, but many of them still seemed to be a little off. You couldn’t blame them — fifth year was rough — but you really wanted them all to be successful and to pass. Many of your students wanted to go on and be Aurors. A passing Charms mark was kind of a necessity.
“So you’re alright with overlooking the exam?” the Headmistress asked, her pointy hat standing tall on her head as her emerald robes flowed loosely behind her, the two of you walking towards the Great Hall, “You won’t be alone, but I just wanted to double check.”
You grinned, “Of course, it would be my pleasure.”
The walk to the Hall wasn’t long, but you were feeling suddenly anxious. You had poured your heart and soul into the teaching that you had done this year — you only hoped it paid off enough. You didn’t want to disappoint or let your students down. This was the most important exam yet.
The Charms exam was tomorrow at noon, so you weren’t sure why your wand was in a knot just yet, but the anxious bubbles in your stomach hadn’t calmed down over the last few days, to be totally honest.
You walked into the silent Hall, no students present yet, and came to a halt as you spotted the redheaded man standing all the way on the other side.
“Oh, so you’re my ever so lovely companion this afternoon?” he grinned, standing up off of his chair and placing the stack of papers down on the table in front of him, his sweater clinging rightfully to his body and causing you to scan your eyes up and down his figure. He had a pen sticking out from behind his ear and you could see the pleased expression cross his face, even from the other side of the room.
“I suspect you two will behave,” McGonagall said from next to you, her eyes twinkling with some sort of amusement as she gazed between the two of you, eyebrows raised.
“When do I not behave, Minerva?” Fred asked cockily, shoving his hands into his pockets — which suddenly seemed to be a signature move for him. You weren’t really sure where it came from, but you weren’t complaining. It gave him some sort of authoritarian vibe, which was one of the many reasons you felt as if today might be a tough day.
Leaving you and Fred alone, McGonagall left the hall with a quick shake of her head, her little heels clacking loudly. You rolled your eyes, walking over to stand next to him. Even as you walked up the few stairs to the platform, Fred’s height towered over you and caused you to crane your neck up to look him in the eyes.
“Well, well, well,” he grinned, his hands finding their way to your lower back, sliding down so that they rested in the bum pockets of your jeans.
“Fred!” you squeaked, giving him a light slap across the bicep before pulling away, “We’ve almost been caught twice. Third time is definitely not the charm, here.”
He let out a low chuckle, his chest vibrating and his eyes crinkling in the corners. You loved the sight of him in a good mood, your heart doing a little flip in your chest as he ran a hand through his hair.
You couldn’t help yourself, leaning up onto your tip toes and pressing a light kiss to his lips, pulling away ever-so-quickly, reaching up and pulling the pen out from behind his ear in the process, putting it down on the little desk next to the chair he was previously seated in.
“Ha! Gotcha,” you grinned, using your index finger to tap his nose lightly.
“Oh, okay,” he nodded, hands immediately finding their way around your waist, “That’s not fair, love.”
His lips quickly found their way down to yours, warm and inviting as always. No matter how many times you kissed him, you never got tired of it. You still got the same amount of tingles and butterflies as you did the first time he kissed you. And that’s not something you ever imagined would change.
“Fred,” you mumbled against his lips, a low groan leaving his throat as you tried your best to wiggle out of his grasp. You could hear the voices of students down the corridor— they were bound to enter the Great Hall any second now. This was not the position you wanted them to see you two in.
“Fine, fine,” he mumbled, pulling away and rolling his eyes. His lips were red and his cheeks were slightly flushed, but he looked as dashing as ever. It was hard for him not to look like this, actually. Something in Fred Weasley’s blood just made him irresistible. You often felt like cursing him out, honestly.
Seconds later, the large door opened and the room was no longer silent. Fred shot you a quick wink, sending your heart into a fluttering frenzy, before you turned to face the oncoming group.
“Good morning!” you announced with a somehow steady voice, “Everyone find your seat so we can begin!”
It took a few minutes, but eventually the group each found their assigned desks and sat down, taking out their quills and parchment.
“You have two hours,” Fred clapped his hands together, echoing loudly throughout the room, “And the two of us will be here if you have any questions. The lovely Professor Y/L/N has volunteered to keep me company, probably because she finds me irresistible—” you rolled your eyes, “—but we’ll both answer any questions you have.”
You looked to the ground, hair falling into your face as you bit your tongue, holding back any snarky remarks towards your idiotic boyfriend. He really wasn’t helping the whole ‘lowkey’ aspect to your relationship.
“Does anyone have any questions before we start?” he asked, lifting his left arm to check the watch on his wrist. You finally peered back up, gazing over at the large clock that was sitting behind you. You immediately regretted not bringing a cup of tea or a snack, but the two hours were bound to fly by. This wasn’t your first time overlooking an exam period, and each time you’ve done this before, it’s never felt like it was dragging on.
“Good luck everyone!” you called out with a smile, clapping your hands together. They all began scribbling away as you finished your sentence, the scratching sound being the only noise you could hear as any previous chatter had now completely ceased.
You walked slowly over to Fred, your hands crossed over your chest as you raised an eyebrow, “Really smooth, you know? Nearly gave us away, you did.”
He shrugged, giving you a lopsided grin, “Oh, come on. Pretty sure half this lot know we’re together anyways. They may be younger, but they’re not completely dim-witted.”
Scoffing and turning your back to the group to face him better, you tried your best to give Fred a serious glare, “None of them are dim-witted, Fred. I’m just saying it would be nice to avoid the drama that comes with public teacher relationships.”
You took a step back as he took one towards you, trying your best to maintain some sort of professional distance. The students might be busy with their work, but that didn’t mean they were blind to the two Professors standing watch at the front of the room.
“I gotta admit, love,” he nodded his head, lowering his voice and leaning in, “the sneaking around has been rather fun.”
His voice sent shivers down your body, goosebumps rising on your skin. You forgot how to breathe for a second, quickly trying your best to regain your composure so the students didn’t see you looking like a fish out of water.
You let out a low cough, clearing your throat and nodding, “It has, hasn’t it?”
The grin on his face was practically contagious, causing the corners of your own lips to turn up before lifting a hand to toss your hair out of your face. You gazed up at him, running your tongue over your bottom lip before pulling it between your teeth, shooting him a wink in the process.
You could see the way his eyes were drawn to your every move, looking at your lips as if in some sort of trance. It caused a little sense of pride to blossom in your chest, to be honest. Fred was often the one who had you locked in a permanent dreamy state. It wasn’t everyday that you had the upper hand.
“Not bloody fair,” he tossed his head back, “Y’know how badly that makes me want to kiss you.”
You smirked, giving him a quick shrug of your shoulders and turning away, swaying your hips as you walked over to the chair that was a few feet away, sitting down comfortably and giving him another wink. You could tell his gaze was on your hips as you walked away — the darker tone in his eyes now locked on you.
Oh, this was going to be fun.
———————————————————————
“You’re a real piece of work, y’know?” he groaned in your ear, leaning over you as you organized the pile of recently collected exams, making sure that Fred’s proximity wasn’t a distraction. You weren’t being overly successful at that last part, though. You could smell his cologne and the warmth of his skin as he stood mere inches away, knowing damn well that he was causing you to stutter in your work.
You had been teasing Fred the entire exam period, sending him winks and lingering looks, even being bold enough to run your hand through his hair at one point, making sure to rake your nails lightly down the nape of his neck, enough to cause his body to erupt in goosebumps. He gave you a stern look after that, letting you know that he was now completely and utterly under your charm.
“Am I? Well, this is a competition, if you remember correctly. I think I won.” you spun around, leaning against the desk, a teasing look on your face.
“Oh, you definitely won,” his hands slid around your waist, delicately but firmly. He had a way with body language that was unmatched, you had to admit.
Taking a step closer to you and pulling your body closer to his, he dipped his head and began to pepper your jaw with light kisses.
“Fred,” you giggled, weakly attempting to push him away, “Not right now.”
He groaned against your neck, his lips continuing to press kisses along your skin. It was rendering your mind nearly completely blank, but you tried your best to stay focused, to make sure that you guys wouldn’t get caught and ruin the secrecy aspect to your hidden romance. Plus, you really didn’t want McGonagall to catch you in such a scandalous position.
“Honestly, do you have no self control?” you asked, successfully pushing him away. You missed the warmth of his body pressed against yours, but you had a feeling you’d be getting a lot of that tonight so you weren’t too upset about it. He’d more than make up for it in a few hours.
“Not around you, love,” he grinned, running a hand through his hair. You wished you were the one doing it instead, but once again, you had a feeling you’d be doing that quite a bit tonight, so you figured you’d wait until you could do it with no worries of anyone cutting in. He loved the feeling of your hands running through his hair, delicately giving little tugs every now and then.
You let out a laugh, shaking your head as you picked up the pile of finished exams, “You’re too much.”
Fred followed closely after you as you made your way towards the exit of the Hall, his hands empty but he kept them to himself this time, “But you love me, don’t you?”
“Of course I do.”
———————————————————————
After having been empty this afternoon, the Great Hall was now bustling with life. The four house tables were filled with students and food, echoes of distant and nearby conversations reverberating around the crowded room. It wasn’t a sight one could get used to. Yes, you had spent seven years of your youth here, and a few years as a Professor now, but the atmosphere of this room would never quite sink in.
Professor Neville Longbottom, who was currently seated next to you, was rambling on about a mishap that happened in his class that day — something about a first year Gryffindor knocking over eight potted plants — and you nodded along and laughed as he made jokes.
“Can you believe it?” he asked, eyes wide as he munched on a potato, “He thought Mandrakes and Mimbulus Mimbletonia were the same thing!”
You let out an amused snort, “Kind of hard to think that,” you took a sip of your goblet of wine, “But I guess some people don’t have the magical knack for plants that you do.” You nudged him in the side with a smile.
He grinned at the compliment, the tips of his ears turning a deep shade of red. Neville was two years below you while in school, but his knowledge of plants and nature was way beyond you.
The conversation fell to a lull and Neville became invested in chatting with the person to his other side. You didn’t pay much attention to who it was, as your eyes were now trained to the other end of the table, where the usual seat of Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor was occupied by your boyfriend.
His eyes were already looking in your direction, causing a heat to surge through your body. A lazy smile was on his lips, and he clearly wasn’t paying attention to the elderly Professor Slughorn seated to his right.
“I love you,” you could read his lips, his eyes bright as they stayed locked on yours. His smile was genuine and loving, quite opposite to the teasing one he usually gave you, and it left your stomach feeling rather fluttery.
You bit your lower lip, fighting a grin, before moving your lips in return, “I love you more.”

CHAPTER 19: ATTACCA
Music glossary: Attacca - "To attack at once"; used as a direction in music at the end of a movement to begin the next without pause
–––––
(Mood music: "The Conversation" - Pearl Django)
Being mere months away from graduating lycée meant that their group of friends didn’t have as many classes together, due to their diverse individual interests and talents. However, they always made sure to make time to hang out after school before their extracurricular activities began.
And thus, Adrien, Nino, and Alya made their way to the classroom where the art club gathered to meet up with Marinette. From there, Adrien would make his way to either fencing lessons or Chinese, depending on the day of the week. Marinette would join him on days when he had Chinese (as she’d become determined to master the language ever since her uncle visited from Shanghai a few years back), Alya would go to her journalism club, and Nino would travel to his part-time internship at the local recording studio.
“–and the backlogs just keep piling up!” Alya spoke as they walked, voice full of vigor and excitement. “I’ve had to recruit yet another mod to help me keep order in the forums! Especially since the Ladyblog has started going international and we’ve had to organize servers in different languages. You wouldn’t believe how crazy it’s gotten in there recently!”
“Dang, babe,” Nino interjected. “Sounds like things are super rough for you right now.”
“Not really, more busy than anything. Especially because I have that big research article due next week, there’s just not enough hours in the day to try to read everything that goes on in there. But I have my mods report to me daily, ‘cause I always like to stay on top of everything that goes on in the chats!”
“What’s gotten everyone so riled up in the Ladyblog lately?” Adrien chimed in. “I don’t recall it being nearly this busy last year.”
The trio entered the art club’s classroom and settled down at the table where Marinette sat, getting her various sketches organized. The art teacher was quite easy going, so they didn’t have to talk in hushed whispers and could come and go as they pleased.
“Well, to be honest, it’s because of Chat Noir,” Alya replied.
Adrien tried to contain his surprise. “R-really? What– uhhh, what do people have to say about him?”
He winced inwardly. He knew he shouldn’t ask. But curiosity got the better of him today. Maybe learning the news through the filter or Alya’s paraphrasing instead of reading the negative comments firsthand would lessen the sting of what people said about him.
Marinette whipped her head around at the mention of his alter ego. “Wait, what about Chat Noir?” she inquired.
“Girl,” Alya replied, her voice filled with renewed exuberance. “You would not believe how much we’ve had to censor and moderate all the inappropriate things people have been saying!”
Adrien flinched in his seat. “Wow… do people really hate him that much?” he asked, trying to conceal the dejection in his voice.
Alya busted out into loud guffaws. “Hate?! Dude, most people don’t hate him; they LOVE him! By ‘inappropriate’ comments, I mean the kinda stuff you wouldn’t want your grandma to catch you reading! There’s a whole giant section dedicated to his new fan club!” she said as she removed her glasses so she could wipe away the tears of laughter.
“WHAT?!” Adrien squawked in confusion, his face feeling hotter than the ovens back at the bakery. “A fan club??”
Marinette burst into uncontrollable snickering. “Has it really gotten that bad?!”
Nino joined in, “Bro! Adrien, I can’t believe you haven’t heard Alya rant about these rabid fans before! They call themselves the ‘Noir Nation’, and the kind of things they’ve been writing would make adult romance authors blush like schoolgirls!”
Alya nodded, thoroughly amused. “And that’s not including all the fanfiction people have been writing.”
“Wait– the WHAT?! There’s fanfiction?!!” Marinette gaped in shock, as if she’d been hit in the face with an enormous pie. “Alya, how come I never knew about this?!”
“Why? You wanna read em? Girl, you’ll get no judgment from me. If you wanna check ‘em out for yourself, just go check under the hashtag ‘Ladynoir’.”
Marinette stammered as her arms flailed in her bewilderment, accidentally knocking her phone off the table and onto the floor, her eyes bigger and rounder than Adrien had ever seen them. “They have a ship name?!” she screeched.
“Just mind the ratings though,” Alya advised. “Some of them can get pretty steamy. You wouldn’t want someone to catch you reading those in public,” she added with a wink.
Marinette continued to sputter incoherently. “NO, I am NOT gonna read it!! It would be different if they were fictional characters, but I could never read fanfiction about real people!”
Alya raised a skeptical eyebrow at her. “Mm-hmm… Sure.”
Marinette’s hands flew to her face, trying to hide how red her entire face had gotten, and released a long squeak that resembled a hamster on helium. As shocked as Adrien was about these rather unexpected news, seeing Marinette’s over-the-top reaction brought a wide grin to his face and he busted out laughing.
He bent over to retrieve Marinette’s phone, since she was too busy being mortified to notice it had fallen to the floor. As he was about to hand it back, the screen lit up and Adrien saw the lockscreen wallpaper: it was the same photo of Ladybug and Chat Noir that he himself had saved earlier that day. He smiled, not exactly sure what to make of it, but finding it adorable that she’d liked the photo enough to set it as her lockscreen.
He tapped her shoulder, waiting for her to respond. She emerged from behind her impromptu hand shield and turned her head, then her eyes widened once again as soon as she saw what Adrien was showing her. She jolted straight up, stiff as a board, and her eyes met his, cheeks turning tomato red. He winked at her, amused about this little secret between them, and handed back her phone without a word.
Marinette accepted it with a meek-sounding, “Thanks,” looking like she wanted to explain the photo, but not able to do so unless she wanted Alya and Nino to find out that she was potentially a… ahem– “Ladynoir” shipper.
Switching the conversation to something else (which Marinette seemed to be eternally grateful for), the group chatted until it became time for them to scatter to their next destinations.
With a wave, Adrien exited the classroom and headed towards fencing practice, one of the few activities he decided to stick with despite not being forced to participate. Fencing, along with Chinese lessons, were not only enjoyable, but were also quite useful. Sadly, he didn’t have access to a piano anymore, so he wasn’t able to pursue that hobby for the time being. Hopefully later down the line, when things had settled down and he’d found his own place to live, he’d be able to finance one.
Thinking about the future had become an exciting pastime instead of an anxiety-inducing one, and it was all thanks to his friends and those he cared about. He smiled as he reached the door to the locker rooms, continuing to daydream of what was to come.
(Mood music: "Recollection 3" - Shirō Sagisu (BLEACH OST, "The Diamond Dust Rebellion")
Adrien finished getting dressed for fencing, his head still blissfully floating in the clouds. He stored his belongings into his assigned locker, shutting it with a loud clang, which echoed through the empty room.
Huh...? Empty?
He swiveled his head around, surprised that there was no one beside him. He stood up and began walking down the large room, peeking down the other locker rows looking for his classmates; but there was nobody.
Where was everyone? There’s no way that every single one of them was running late. Had his lessons been cancelled and he’d somehow missed a text message or email? He began heading back towards his locker to check his phone for any schedule changes.
Before he reached his destination, however, heavy thudding footsteps broke the eerie silence. Adrien whipped his body around to greet whoever they belonged to.
The owner of those footsteps was one of the last people Adrien expected to meet here.
“Gaspard?!”
Adrien stood agape, face to face with his old bodyguard, whom he hadn’t seen in a couple of years; not since he’d resigned and moved out of the country. Nathalie had mentioned that in his resignation letter, Gaspard said that he’d become involved in an overseas business venture involving the market of rare action figures. Nevertheless, Adrien couldn’t help but suspect that his father’s ill temper and poor treatment of their employees was the true reason for his departure.
Adrien’s first reaction was surprise and joy, and he rushed forward to greet and embrace him. However, as he approached and got a better look at the man’s face, Adrien’s mood instantly morphed into confusion and apprehension. There was something odd about his eyes.
Something wasn’t right. Why was Gaspard here? And why now?
He came to a halt about a meter before reaching him. An oppressive weight seemed to press in all around him, and he had to suppress a shiver. “Wait. Gaspard, did–” he gulped, “–did my father send you?”
His old bodyguard did not reply, but took a heavy step towards him. Adrien stepped back.
“Please… I can’t go back. I live somewhere else now, and I’m very happy there. Whatever he told you about the situation, it’s a lie.”
His bodyguard continued to approach him, his stare vacant and unsettling.
Fighting the urge to panic, he pleaded, “You don’t have to do this. If he’s offered you compensation, I can match it; it’ll just take me a bit of time. But we can work something out, right?? For old time’s sake?”
He continued walking backwards until he bumped into something firm, but it wasn’t a wall; it was another person. Before he could turn around, they grabbed him by the shoulders, detaining him and preventing him from running away.
He was about to shout for help when something sharp jabbed him on the side of the neck, injecting a cold liquid. Adrien’s eyes grew wide in terror.
Shit.
Adrien swore as he jerked away, elbowing whoever was behind him and managing to break free. Rubbing at the spot where the syringe had stabbed him, he glanced back to take a look at his other assailant, only to see... another Gaspard?
Why are there two of him??
This was wrong. Gaspard didn’t have a twin; he knew that for a fact. He’d worked for the Agrestes ever since Adrien was a toddler and was too young to even pronounce his name correctly (hence the nickname “Gorille”, which stuck around for years afterwards). Additionally, there was something uncanny, otherworldly, even, about the way these two men looked and moved.
He shook himself out of his stupor. He didn’t have time to contemplate any possible explanations. He had to get out of there fast.
He sprinted towards the exit, but only managed to travel a few paces before he lost his footing and tripped. He fell to the ground hard, almost hitting his head on a nearby bench. As he struggled to get up, he realized that his fingers and toes had already gone numb.
Not good.
Time was running out. Adrenaline coursed through him and, with a grunt, he hefted himself to his feet and scrambled towards the exit, as fast as he could despite a heavy limp. Though his heart was hammering and his legs felt like they were filled with sand, he pushed himself, concentrating on reaching the door.
After taking a few steps, however, he realized that even if he did manage to exit the locker room, the area beyond was an open courtyard. Meaning he wasn’t going to be able to reach someplace safe before getting caught. He had no choice but to transform into Chat Noir, and hopefully Plagg’s powers and strength could help him escape and find somewhere to hide.
He’d scarcely uttered the first syllable in the transformation phrase when he was tackled to the ground. A giant hand swiftly covered his mouth and Adrien felt his hands get bound together with thick zip ties behind his back. A muffled scream of writhing frustration made its way up his throat as his limbs became more and more useless by the second.
No… This can’t be happening! Please, this can’t be how it all ends!
Just when his life had finally gained a semblance of normalcy and he’d found happiness again, it would get ripped away and he would disappear without a trace, leaving everyone to wonder what had happened to him. Leaving his friends to think that Gabriel had pulled him from school and they would never see him again. Leaving Ladybug to wonder if Chat had abandoned her forever. Leaving her to fight Hawkmoth alone. Again.
He couldn’t let that happen. He thrashed and struggled as furiously as he could, fighting the feelings of overwhelming helplessness that threatened to consume him. Nearing despair, he was too distracted to notice Plagg phrasing through the wall, away from the skirmish, in search of the only person who could save him.
(Mood music: "Run" - Ludovico Einaudi)
Marinette fidgeted with her pencil, her feet wiggled and bounced under her desk. She didn’t understand; when she’d arrived at the art club, her head had been filled with inspiration and ideas that she’d been excited to draw and execute. However, at the moment, her mind was filled with noise and disquietude.
Having had enough, she excused herself to visit the restroom. Once she’d walked far enough from the classroom, she opened her purse to talk to Tikki about her current dilemma.
“It’s the same feeling as last night, Tikki! Except that would mean one of three possibilities. Option A.) It’s nothing and I’m going crazy. And— don’t give me that look, Tikki! I can see what you’re thinking and I don’t have time for your cheeky sass right now!” The kwami snickered while Marinette cleared her throat and continued, “Option B.) that Chat is here, at this school, which is impossible because his school’s on the other side of the city, that’s why he always leaves the house super early for his long commute.”
Tikki opened her mouth and looked like she was about to say something, but then didn’t (...or couldn’t?).
Marinette resumed, “Or, C.) that my–– what do I even call it? My ‘Spidey sense’??–– that it’s got a long distance mode, and Chat is all the way across Paris and he’s in trouble! But what am I supposed to do about that from here?! I wouldn’t even know where to begin looking!”
Tikki shrugged. “Follow your instincts, Marinette. There’s no harm in taking a quick look around the school, right?”
Marinette groaned. “UGH! It doesn’t make sense!! Am I going to get interrupted like this all the time from now on?” She shook her head resolutely. “No. I can’t just go off on random field trips every single time I feel a random fit of anxiety. I’m sure it’s just leftover jitters from last night. I’m supposed to call Master Fu after school anyway; he can help me figure everything out. I’m just gonna go back to class and forget about it.”
Tikki frowned, not quite convinced, but deciding not to press further.
Marinette made her way back to the classroom in a frustrated huff. But as her hand reached to turn the handle, the feelings of danger and urgency multiplied tenfold. Without a word, she sprinted away in the opposite direction, not even knowing where she was running to, only knowing she had to get there immediately.
She reached the large common area of the school downstairs. Her head whipped around, frantically searching for something, anything. In her haste, she didn’t notice a small black creature zoom into her open purse.
A few moments later, she felt a frantic tugging at her shirt from below.
“Marinette!! Over there! Check the locker room, quick!!!” Tikki whisper-screamed as she peeked outside the purse, her tone uncharacteristically frantic.
Marinette nodded, then sprinted to the locker room.
“Wait! You should transform first!” Tikki added.
No time!
“Marinette, wait!!”
Despite Tikki’s protests, Marinette raced towards the double doors, tackling them open.
Three sets of eyes landed on her as she skidded to a halt, but only one pair consumed her entire attention. She gasped in horror, hands flying to her face as she stared at what was occurring in front of her. Adrien let out a desperate, muffled scream urging her to run.
His panicked voice snapped her out of her dazed shock; but instead of running, she stood her ground, eyes darting back and forth across the area searching for something useful. The room was remarkably barren except for a lone broom a short distance away from her. She grabbed it and leaped towards the closest attacker (the one holding Adrien down), swinging it like a baseball bat.
The man didn’t even try to avoid the hit; the broomstick merely bounced off the side of his face where Marinette had hit him. She frowned in confusion, then tried hitting him again, bringing the stick down on the top of his head like an axe.
SNAP.
The end of the broom flew off, and Marinette stared in shock at the broken broomstick.
“What the hell are you?!” Marinette exclaimed, shifting her grip on the shortened wooden stub.
She pounced at the second bodyguard, bringing her weapon down in a stabbing motion; but he swatted at her hand, disarming her. She yelped in pain, leaping backwards to get some distance between them.
She was outmatched. The only strategy available was to use their own size against them. With a feint to the side, she shot at his legs for a takedown, hoping to catch him off balance. He called her bluff and shoved her backwards with his giant palm, then kneed her in the stomach.
Winded from the impact, Marinette doubled over with a gasping wheeze, fighting with all her might to keep herself from collapsing onto the ground. She forced herself upright and attacked again. With a clumsy jerk, she lunged forward, swinging wild punches at her opponent. The shots connected but his expression barely changed; it was like beating a breathing punching bag.
The bodyguard backhanded Marinette across the face. Pain shooting across her cheek, she staggered, almost losing her balance. In her daze, she watched helplessly as the man reared his arm back. There was no chance to dodge. His fist connected with her abdomen, delivering a liver shot that shut down her entire body. She crumpled to the floor as if boneless. She tried to call out Adrien’s name, but her mouth merely opened in a silent scream.
Marinette could hear Adrien’s distressed screaming, but it sounded distant, like they were underwater. The edges of her vision grew black and fuzzy, the entire room dissolving around her. She had to consciously force her lungs to inhale, but couldn’t fill them all the way, as if a boulder had been placed on top of her chest.
Faintly, she felt herself getting picked up off the ground and carried away over someone’s shoulder. Disoriented and semi-blinded, the sudden movement and rough jostling made her head spin and gave her vertigo. She gritted her teeth and squeezed her eyes shut, trying to block it all out.
A few moments later, they stopped moving, and she heard a door burst open. Where were they? Before she could gather her senses, she was in the air, thrown several meters away, landing with a hard thud. A sharp pain traveled down her body as she rolled into the wall across them. The shriek that tried to escape her throat emerged as a strained, shallow whine.
The man stomped out, leaving her alone in the room. “Stop…!” she rasped out, managing to tilt her neck upwards, head pounding.
The bodyguard slammed the door shut, followed by a bang and a clattering sound that could only mean he’d broken the doorknob of whatever room she was in.
Marinette's vision became more and more blurred. At the verge of losing consciousness, she fought to keep her eyes open as tears pricked at the corners of her eyes.
No, she couldn’t pass out! She had to save Adrien! Stay awake, Marinette, stay awake!!
She bit down on her lip hard, focusing on the sharp sting, on the swelling that was already forming around her right eye, forcing herself to feel the pain her body was in. At this moment, feeling pain was better than falling unconscious. She concentrated on her breathing, slowly regaining her senses.
She reached down to open her purse and get Tikki’s help only to be met with emptiness. Panic settled in her gut as she realized that sometime during the skirmish, the purse had slipped off her shoulder. She sat up, slowly, so she wouldn’t risk feeling faint again from the change in positions.
She squinted, adjusting her eyesight to the darkness of the room. It seemed to be some sort of supply closet. After a failed few attempts to stand, she crawled towards the door instead, careful not to bump into the crates and shelves that filled the area.
The girl eyed the broken doorknob wearily. She was pretty proficient at lockpicking and breaking into things, but not as good at breaking out. Her only hope was that Tikki would be able to find her… if she was even nearby.
She swore to herself. Why had she rushed in and attacked two grown ass men (who, incidentally, may or may not be supernatural to boot!) instead of hiding and creating a strategy?! Now she was useless, Tikki was gone, and Adrien was surely on his way to get auctioned to the highest bidder in the criminal black market and ransomed off for an enormous sum. Great job, Marinette. Adrien’s been abducted and it’s all your fault.
Gathering all the determination she could muster, she tried to call out for help. But her voice was still too hoarse, and only a weak croak came out. She clenched her fists, grumbling irritably. Time for a different approach. Somehow, she needed to make noise.
After a brief search, she found a hard, metallic object that she could use to hammer on the door. She tested it out; it was surprisingly effective. She doubled her efforts, making as big a racket as possible. Hopefully, it would only be a matter of time before somebody heard her, let her out, and she could go find Adrien.
She couldn’t let anything else happen to another loved one. Not again.

5 times Leo hit on Calypso as her Barista and one time it worked
Word Count: 3.8K
Summary: Coffee Shop AU! Calypso is running late one day so she ends up going to a coffee shop- what she doesn’t expect is for her barista to be Bad boy supreme
Later on in this fic, they sing this song.
Warnings?: Not much, terrible pick up lines, mainly fluff, making out.
A/N: This took me so long but alas, here it is! This is kinda my first official fluff and I tried okay. Anyway, enjoy, comment, share, like- you know the drill. <3 from moi!
The 1st Thursday
Calypso was not happy with the line she was waiting in. She was running late and thus was at a coffee shop- somewhere she preferred not to go. The weather was terrible, grey skies as well as heavy rain that had Calypso drenched. The stupid forecast hadn’t predicted the rain and thus she had left her apartment without an umbrella nor raincoat.
The coffee shop was small but cute, she had to admit. The staff seemed small but efficient and within a few minutes, Calypso found herself at the front of the line, face to face with a boy with rich dark tan skin and the most dazzling smile she had ever seen. He had long dimples and his dark curly hair would flop over his face in a cute manner.
“Hi, Welcome to Steamy Beans Coffee. I’m Super sized Mcshizzle and I will be taking your order today, do you have your order ready?” He looked up at the girl in front of him and immediately, his lips stretched into a lazy and goofy smile. She frowned at the nickname but internally she wanted to laugh, even his name badge read Super Sized Mcshizzle- Who called themselves that?
“Can I get a cappuccino with 2 espresso shots, please.” She reached into her bag to pull out her purse while the boy at the counter hummed and tapped at the machine in front of him.
“What kind of milk?” He looked up again, cheekily smiling as if he had something planned.
“Uh, almond is fine.”
“And your name?” He asked, pulling out a marker. Before she could answer, he cut in.
“Does your name start with a C-”
“-Actually it doe-”
“-Because I can C us together.”
Calypso resisted the urge to smile and instead raised an eyebrow at the horribly cheesy pick up line. Despite this, she was a bit impressed- Her name did technically start with a C.
“Calypso. That’s my name,” She told him as she walked away from the counter and sat at one of the stalls, waiting for her name to be called out.
The 2nd Thursday
Somehow, Calypso found herself queuing outside the same coffee shop the next Thursday. Whilst she told herself it was because the coffee was perfect, it was truly to see the brown haired grinning boy who had served her last week. Pick up lines weren’t really her poison, but he wasn’t creepy and even she had to admit it- He was cute.
As the queue grew shorter, she grabbed her purse ready to pay. She had subconsciously chosen to wear better clothes and style her hair today. Was it a stupid decision to wear white when drinking coffee? Absolutely. But Calypso was 100% willing to take the risk.
“Hi, welcome to Steamy Beans Coffee. I’m Bad Boy Supreme and I will be taking your order today, do you have an order ready?” The boy looked up, with his hair flopping about. He had rolled his sleeves up and Calypso, who wasn’t about to get caught, quickly averted her eyes elsewhere. She noticed that his name had changed- so had his badge. Did he have a collection of these names? She’d have to ask him next time.
Oh, so there will be a next time, huh? She asked herself.
Shut up.
“Oh. Calypso, right? Same as last time?” He asked as he hovered his finger over the machine.
“Oh, yeah. Cappuccino please.”
As she waited for her name to be called out, she pulled out her sketchbook and started sketching the cute barista. From his elf like ears to his slanted chocolate eyes and the funny curl that went in the complete opposite direction of his hair earning him a messy hair look. It was only a basic sketch but it had outlined him.
“Cappuccino for Calypso?” a familiar voice called out. She was slightly surprised to find her Barista also handing off her coffee but she also quite flattered. Or maybe she was just overthinking this. He could easily just have switched around for a friend- it can’t have been just for her.
“Thanks,” she murmured as she reached into her purse, trying to find the appropriate change in her purse.
“You and I are like nachos with jalapeños. I'm super cheesy, you're super hot, and we belong together.” The pick up line rolled off his tongue as he leant over the counter separating them. He had a smirk that made Calypso immediately lose her strong front and spill her change all over the counter.
“What?!” she sputtered as her eyes darted to the change. She managed to scoop most of it into her arms without looking too much like a fool. She quickly grabbed her coffee and made her way out of the shop as fast as she possibly could, hoping she didn’t look as ridiculous as she thought she did.
The 3rd Thursday
“You don’t understand, last time the pick up line was creepy. She probably thinks I’m a weirdo now!” Leo groaned as he slammed his head on the counter beside his friend Will who always worked the same shift as him. Unfortunately, Will did not get to witness what Leo kept on describing as ‘a catastrophe’.
“She won’t come in today, I bet. Ugh, I really screwed up.”
“It really can’t have been that bad!” Will argued, dragging Leo by the arm to the front counter.
“I said You and I are like nachos with Jalapenos. I’m super cheesy, you’re super hot and we belong together.”
Will cringed. “Okay, that is bad.”
Calypso could not believe she was coming back to the coffee shop. The previous pick up line was terrible, in fact it was almost as bad as the ‘I’m here, what are your other two wishes’ pick up line that a creepy person had used on her earlier but in all honesty it wasn’t the barista that was the problem. It was the fact that she could not crush over someone with pickup lines as bad as those. This time, she had decided to use her card to pay so she wouldn’t have to deal with spilt change everywhere.
“Hi, welcome to Steamy Beans Coffee. I’m Commander tool Belt- that’s because my major is engineering and I fixed the old coffee machine- how can I help you?” The curly haired boy in front of her said miserably while slumped behind the counter with his face practically leaning on the machine.
“I was hoping for the usual?” Her meek voice came out questioning. Leo’s head shot off the counter, almost slamming into the machine.
“Wow… uh cappuccino again?”
“Yep…” she searched for something to say. “So engineering major huh?”
“Mhmm. I like making things I guess. What about you?”
“Natural sciences. I was going to do art but I guess plants and animals are more of my poison.” She shrugged.
“You can draw?” he asked, his voice peaking interest and turning around slightly.
“Yes, why do you sound so surprised at that?”
He batted his hand. “Oh nothing, just something we have in common.” He then winked and Calypso had to do everything she could to not react. She stood in front of the counter, waiting for her coffee but saw that her barista was screwing his eyes up and writing something on a cup. She wanted to pull out her sketchbook and draw the cute face he was pulling, leaning back and holding the cup in front of him as if it were an invention he had never seen.
“Cappuccino for Calypso!” A sing-song voice that could only be her barista called out. She had to admit, his voice was not bad. In fact, it was quite impressive and it had a nice harmonious tune to it.
“Thank you…” she said in a suspicious tone, as she swiped her card over the contactless payment machine. Her barista was suspiciously silent and she had yet to hear a terrible pick up line. He had a mischievous smile as if he had set something on fire and not told anyone anything about it. As she picked up her coffee, she noticed a lot more black marker on the cup and held it away from her face to read it.
Are you made of Copper and tellurium? Because you are CuTe.
She wanted to face palm at such a classic science pun but she was also impressed that he knew elements of the periodic table so easily. She let out a small laugh to let him know that she had noticed the pick up line before she took a small sip and smiled.
The 4th Thursday
“I’m telling you, she actually laughed at the line! That’s a good thing right?” Leo asked as he put on his apron.
“And I’m telling you, if you want her to go out with you, hit her with a star wars pun,” Will ugred while tying his apron behind his back.
“You’re obsessed with star wars.”
“Hey, it worked for me and Nico!” Will pointed out as they made their way to the counter.
“Sun boy, we all know you and Mr Debbie Downer did not get together over Star Wars pick up lines,” Leo argued.
Calypso was running late. She hated being late. It was like slowly ticking off the boxes for panic 101. She was wearing mismatched socks, had the wrong books for class and the laces of her shoes were untied. At least the line was significantly shorter than usual and while normally that would have made Calypso question the occasion, she was too much in a rush to truly care.
As she ran in, she tripped over her laces and almost fell had it not been for the arms of the person in front of her. As she looked up to find her saviour, she found herself face to face with the curly brown haired boy who today wore the badge of ‘Admiral Leo’. She thought Leo was a nice name and it suited him very well- much better than any other name would have.
“Hey, tie your shoes!” he scolded her and she was surprised by his concern over her safety. Alas, she had spoken too soon,
“I don’t want you falling for anyone else.” he murmured, his lips right by her ear and his hot breath making goosebumps form all across her neck. He then reached down onto his knees, and did her laces. However, she noticed the manner he did them were different to how she would normally do them.
“You know that’s how children do their laces, right?” Her hands rested on her hips as he gasped dramatically and held his hand over his heart.
“Are you calling me a child?”
Before she could say yes, he cut her off.
“The answer is I totally am a child because that means I can eat off the child menu,” He grinned foolishly. “Life hacks with Admiral Leo!”
The 5th Thursday
“I’m telling you Leo- Make the Star Wars pun. Please! For me, do it for me!” Will begged as he tied Leo’s apron for him. Leo was reluctant to go with a Star Wars pun. He didn’t know if Calypso would get it or if she was into nerdy stuff like that but he was running out of ideas. He hadn’t gotten any terrible sparks of inspiration and the Star Wars inspired pun that Will had told him couldt go too badly?
Nervously, Leo waited behind the counter, his hands tapping as if he had just slapped on a nicotine patch and then glugged 6 espresso’s. In other words, Leo was anxious. If he just made the drinks without thinking about it, he could get his mind off it but when he started remembering that she may walk in at any moment, he could feel his hands shake and his stomach begin to churn.
Calypso was very happy. She had no classes today, no research studies to deal with and she had even managed her time well enough to hang out with a friend before heading towards her newly found and now favourite coffee shop. She knew it was it because of a certain curly haired and cheekily grinning boy.
“Hello, welcome to Steamy Beans Coffee, I’m Flaming Valdez- don’t ask please- how can I assist you today?” He once again looked up and when seeing Calypso, he recited her order before the words could come out of her mouth.
“Cappuccino with 2 espresso shots and almond milk?”
Calypso, a bit shocked, nodded. She could feel small butterflies forming in her stomach thinking about how Leo had memorised her order.
Stop being silly. He probably memorises every regular’s order.
“Soo… Flaming Valdez… what’s the story behind that?” She asked, despite his warning. Leo tipped his head back and let out a throaty laugh that had Calypso tingling all over- How can a person have such a gorgeous laugh? How can someone look so good while laughing?
“Oh, that’s a good story. Every year, we celebrate the owners birthday by having the shop to ourselves. No customers, just the staff chilling. Anyway, so it’s like 9pm and we’re all meant to be out because it was sunset an hour ago but instead we’re still in the shop. Everyone’s gathered right out there because your boy, Flaming Valdez, brought in Roman candles!” Leo pointed to the chairs and tables outside the shop.
“Roman candles?” Calypso asked, a tad confused. Her face scrunched up a bit and Leo almost died from how cute her face looked.
“They’re like fireworks. There’s a slight difference with how the shell explodes compared to fireworks and they are a much more traditional version of fireworks but…” He trailed off when he noticed Calypso’s confused face- he just managed to remember that she wasn’t a nerd like him and didn’t study fireworks in her freetime.
“Anyway, Will has the red ones and I have the green ones and so we literally start shooting them at each other like we’re re-enacting Harry Potter or something!”
“What! Can’t someone get set on fire from that?”
“Well yeah actually, they can. Will shoots one at me, sparks at my hair and sets it on fire. I’m running around trying to stop my burning hair while everyone is laughing. The crowd started cheering ‘Flaming Valdez’ and since then, they’ve adopted me that name. I’ve tried to get them to change it but it seems to stick,” he laughed while making her coffee.
“Yeah, I think I’ve seemed to notice. Super sized Mcshizzle, Bad boy supreme, Commander tool belt, Admiral Leo and today- Flaming Valdez.” She listed all the names he would wear on his badges off her fingers. However, that may have been a mistake because when she looked up, she saw Leo shooting her a sly grin that made the butterflies start going crazy in her stomach again.
“So you remember my names, huh?”
“It’s the nice thing to do,” she defended, a blush rising on her cheeks as she reached for some napkins.
Leo took a deep breath- he couldn’t believe that he was going to use Will’s Star Wars pick up line.
“Do you like Star Wars? Cause Yoda only one for me.” The words practically rolled off his tongue and Calypso froze before breaking in laughter. She couldn't hold it in anymore- this was by far the funniest of all the pick up lines he had used. She pulled out a pen and scribbled something down on her sketchpad before ripping it out.
Leo, distraught, watched as she laughed at the pick up line. He should have listened to his gut and never made the pick up line. Oh gosh, he looked like an absolute loser now. Who makes Star Wars puns other than nerds? He handed Calypso the coffee and watched as she quickly left.
He noticed the sketch she had left behind, it looked oddly familiar. In fact, he could have sworn it looked just like him. She had been sketching him everytime she waited for her coffee. He traced finger gently over the outline of his face, smiling. She had drawn everything in such detail, he felt like he was looking in the mirror but at the same time he felt she had facetuned him and made him look.. Well, perfect. Did she think he needed all these faults fixed? Or was this just how she saw him? She somehow made every flaw seem gorgeous and beautiful and he didn’t know how to feel as he looked at the bottom of the sketch.
His eyes widened as he read the note left at the bottom of the sketch.
Hey Leonidas (your co-worker told me that). Here’s my number - 07669833256.
P.S- Star Wars puns ALWAYS work.
Yours truly, Calypso
“Leo? Are you good?” Will stopped to ask him.
“Star Wars puns always work- you were right,” he said starstruck.
The Next Friday
“Mamacita, get off those tables, I need to clean them,” Leo huffed, holding a spray bottle threateningly and a cloth in his other hand. Calypso, giggling and giddy hopped off the table. She watched as Leo quickly sprayed it down before wiping it.
“Are you checking me out?” Leo’s smug voice cut through Calypso’s thoughts, snapping her out of mind. Her initial reaction was to stutter and wildly deny it however today at 7pm, she felt more bold than usual and decided to tease him a bit.
“So what if I was?”
Leo almost froze at the bold response, not expecting the reaction from her. They’d been officially going out for one week and so far, Calypso had been quite shy. A kiss on the cheek here and there, a bit of innocent flirting but no one had really openly confessed their feelings. It was obvious to everyone around them that they liked each other but they seemed determined to have the other say it first.
“Well if you were… " He turned around to see her smirking with both hands on her hips. He was not losing to Calypso- he would make her confess her feelings first if it was the last thing he did. She sat herself on the counter behind her and beckoned Leo forward with her finger. He raised an eyebrow at the bold move but obliged.
Leo stood between Calypso’s thighs, his hands slipping around her waist. Their faces were close enough that if Calypso and Leo both moved their head slightly forward, they’d be kissing. Funnily enough, they both had started eating mints and chewing gum whenever they’d be with each other as if they were planning the moment.
“I still can’t believe those pick up lines worked,” Calypso sighed, her hands moving onto Leo’s shoulders, comfortably rubbing them back and forth.
“Bad Boy supreme is very much offended by those comments.”
“Nu uh. Ever since that blond co-worker of yours told me that your full name is Leonidas...” She paused to unsuccessfully hold in a small laugh. “...That your name is Leonidas, it’s been Leonidas and it will always be Leonidas to me.”
“Not even Leo?” He asked, his eyes entering puppy eyes mode. Calypso remained unimpressed and shook her head. Their eyes locked and they could feel each other's thoughts. Just as their heads were leaning in,the radio behind the counter bugged out and static started blaring everywhere. Calypso wanted to curse god- of coure something just had to ruin the moment. Immediately, the two students shoved their hands over their ears and Leo jumped over the counter to quickly fix the horrendous noise. A few minutes later, About Love by Marina started softly playing through the cafe’s speakers.
The moment seemed like it was manufactured for a movie. The beautiful sunset on the horizon, the romantic music and most of all, Leo’s playful smile as he held his hand out asking Calypso to dance. She, of course, accepted and the two twirled about in each other's arms. They weren’t very good and they kept on stepping on each other's toes but eventually they got into a position where Leo’s hands were wrapped around her waist and Calypso’s arms were thrown around Leo’s neck.
Leo watched as Calypso closed eyes and softly sang the words to the song under her breath.
“Started in the strangest way, didn’t see it coming.”
Leo started singing with her, “My head gets messy when I try to hide.”
“The things I love about you in my mind” Their voices were harmonious and in sync.
“I don’t really know a lot about love, a lot about love, a lot about love but you’re in my head, you’re my blood and it feels so good, it hurts so much.” Calypso had her head leaning on Leo’’s chest and she could hear the steady thumping of his heart quicken.
“Shall I take this as your confession of love to me?” He murmured into her hair. Calypso shot her head up so fast that she almost butted Leo in the chin.
“Hell no, Leonidas.”
Yet, as she said those words, her face leaned upwards towards Leo with her intense gaze falling to his lips. They looked soft, supple even and she felt so tempted to reach out and brush them. In fact, she felt so tempted to touch them that she didn’t even notice her actual hand reaching out to brush against his bottom lip.
Leo had to physically restrain himself from shivering when he felt Calypso’s finger brush over his bottom lip, dragging it back slightly before slowly setting her hand at the side of his face. Slowly, like they were two magnets slowly attracting each other, they leaned in. When they were practically breathing in each other's face, Leo decided to spring one more pick up line on Calypso.
“Did you know that my lips are skittles?” Leo cut in quickly. Calypso quickly frowned, not catching on. Leo continued, “ And you’re about to taste the rainbow.”
Calypso groaned, throwing her head back while Leo giggled to himself. Sick of chasing each other, Calypso grabbed Leo’s face with both her hands and smashed her lips into his, abruptly shutting him up. To say Leo was surprised would be the understatement of the year. He was in a true state of panic, thinking what he should do with his hands, his lips, his entire being. Her lips moved against his, encouraging him. He wrapped his hands around her waist, both of them moving up her back, pulling her into the kiss.
They pulled away for a brief second, looking each other in the eye before slamming their lips back together. Had anyone walked in on them, it would have only been appropriate to say that they were devouring each other- their lips pushed and their hands pulled. Their lips moved in sync and Calypso weaved her hands into Leo’s curls. It was demonically passionate as their tongues slipped across each other's lips. The heat of the kiss spread across Calypso’s face- the blush was so obvious, she felt like her lips were on fire. Nothing could have stopped them, not even if the entire world was on fire.
As they pulled away, Calypso had one more trick up her sleeve.
“As far I’m concerned, the rainbow tasted pretty damned good,” She remarked, referencing to Leo’s previous pick up line.

Genre: romance, minor crack, comedy, lil bit of angst, Baywatch!au, lifeguard!au, college!au?
❖
Three years. Every summer I would come back to this same beach and spend the long hot days on the sand with my two best friends. This summer would be no different. Hyunjin, Jeongin, and I were about to be college sophomores and we were on top of the world. Well, two of us were anyway.
“Yoo-hoo. Head out of the clouds, Y/n.” Hyunjin said, waving his hand in front of my face. Shaking my head I brought myself out of the dreamy summer trance I was in. Hyunjin took the basket from hands and set down all our beach stuff.
“Sorry, just dazed off for a second.”
“Well, Ms. Space Cadet, you wanna help us set up, or are you just gonna stand there?” Hyunjin elbowed me, with a smirk. Scoffing, I picked up the beach chair and unfolded it before laying out the towels on the sand.
“Uhhh...guys! A little help here!”
Turning around we saw Jeongin struggling to carry a huge pile of stuff from my beat-up old blue jeep. Scurrying over, I lightened my other best friend’s load. “Come on, guys! We have tanning to do!” Hyunjin called already stripping himself of his shirt.
“More like burns to be received,” Jeongin said to me with a smile. Laughing the two of us joined Hyunjin after finishing out beach set up. Soft tunes played from the speaker Hyunjin brought as the three of us lounged on beach towels in the sun. Jeongin lay on his back, white sunglasses shielding him from the sun. Hyunjin and I lay on our stomachs, feeling the rays on our backs.
“Guard alert,” Hyunjin said, causing all three of our heads to pop up. “Damn...” He whispered under his breath. Like he said, coming our direction down the waterline were three of Cheonsa Beach’s finest lifeguards. And quite frankly...all three were hotter than the sun itself.
I pushed my shades down my nose and watched as the three boys- no...three men ran down the beach. Hyunjin did the same.
First on the closest side, Seo Changbin. The shortest of the group, but he was not lacking in form. The boy was built like He-Man on steroids, with a smile that could melt any strong resolved woman- or man. There were rumors he played for both teams.
Falling center was Bang Chan, the oldest of the trio. His light blonde hair bounced with each step. He was not only the kindest man you would ever meet, but he could send the most innocent girl begging for him to show him his dark side. He was the perfect piece of eye candy for any girl to dream about on the beach.
The third ran on the farthest side, water splashing under his feet sending droplets onto his tan and muscular stomach. The ocean drops slid over the scripted tattoo on his right ribcage and splashed against the black dragon like ink across his opposite thigh. Han Jisung, my personal summer daydream. He was almost perfect. His only flaw was that he tended to get cocky at the worst times. It didn’t stop him from physically driving me crazy, his shaggy brown hair blowing in the wind.
My eyes trailed over every line on his body, studying it like a work of art. The red life guard’s swim trunks hung low on his hips, making my mouth water.
The three of them seemed to move as if time stopped. “How do they do that?” I said, still ogling Jisung. “It’s like they move in slow motion,” I said licking my lips.
“Oh, you see it too?” Hyunjin said watching Changbin with the same look in his eyes as mine.
Jeongin sat up and took off his sunglasses. His eyes went from Hyunjin to where Hyunjin’s stare was locked on; Changbin’s ass. “Dude...you have a girlfriend....” Hyunjin shrugged and continued to watch his part of the trio as I did mine.
The whistle around Jisung’s neck swung in rhythm with his steps, bouncing against his chest. He turned our way and I could have sworn he smiled at me, his bright teeth reflecting the sun's rays. Before I could smile back, he disappeared from sight.
“Did Jisung just-” I said hearing a splash. Jeongin laughed, seeing Jisung fall face first into the water. The other two kept running leaving Jisung behind.
“There’s no way he can recover from that!” Jeongin said rolling around in a fit of laughter.
“Um...think again Innie,” I whispered, watching the scene before me.
Again, it seemed as if he moved in slow motion. Jisung emerged from the water shaking out his wet strands of hair. I took off my glasses fully, the tip of the frames catching between my teeth. I watched the droplets of water catch on the grooves of his stomach sliding over the tattoo on his side. His hand raked through his hair pushing it back away from his face. The water threatened to tug his trunks down even further, making a small line of slightly paler skin show on his hips. He truly was an Adonis. An Adonis that was coming...right...this...way...
Fuck.
Jeongin jabbed my stomach breaking my trance. “Your boyfriend is coming over.”
“Thank you, Innie I can see that,” I said through gritted teeth. I put on a smile seeing Jisung only a few feet away. He smirked, eyes raking over my body.
“Welcome back, L/n,” Jisung said, pushing his fingers through his wet brown hair. His eyebrow quirked up, noticing the trail of my eyes, up his torso to his face. “You back for another summer?”
“What’s it to you, Han?” I asked looking up at him. He shrugged, a droplet of water falling from his jaw onto the sand.
“Figured you might have the balls to try out for the watch this year.” I laughed, pushing myself off the towel. Han smirked, now getting a full view of me in my new swimsuit, which I had specifically bought with him in mind. Not that I would ever tell him that. “There’s uh...two spots-...sorry...three spots open this summer,” I smirked knowing exactly the two spots which tripped him up, his eyes still lingering on my chest.
“I don’t know. Hyunjin, Innie? Does that sound fun? I mean, it would take away our time from enjoying the gorgeous beach scenery.” I said motioning to the waves that were rolling in. But, that wasn’t what I was referring to.
“I’m always down for extra cash,” Hyunjin said, bringing his attention to the conversation and away from Changbin who was now just a hot muscular spec in the distance.
“I’m sure Aiya, would love a gift every now and again from her boyfriend,” Jeongin said with a smirk.
“Aiya....OH! Yeah! She would.”
Jisung was not paying attention to the exchange. Instead, he and I were having a slightly heated staring contest. “So, Jisung,” Hyunjin started, pushing himself into a seated position, long blonde hair, falling into his eyes. “When are tryouts?”
His eyes widened hearing his name and he turned to my friend. “Sorry- what?” Jeongin rolled his eyes and put his sunglasses back on before reaching into our cooler and pulling out a soda. “Uh..tryouts? Tomorrow at noon. The rest of the guys and I will be running them.”
“Well maybe you’ll see us there and maybe you won’t.”
“Here’s hoping,” Jisung said, with a smirk. He shot me a sultry wink before turning on his heel and running off down the beach. Jeongin scoffed watching me shamelessly check out the muscles in his back.
“So, you guys busy tomorrow?” I asked with a smirk.
❖
My fingers pulled on the straps of the bathing suit top I had chosen to wear. My only one piece I had brought with me. I would not have my tits bouncing all over the place running the stupid obstacle course the boys had set up. It felt weird wearing shorts on the beach for so long. Usually, by this time I would be in the water.
A whistle blew, calling my attention as well as the attention of the two nitwits beside me to the start of the course. Jisung stood, whistle in his mouth, hands on his hips. The signature red trunks hanging dangerously low in the best way. Chan and Changbin stood next time waiting to address the crowd of about twenty participants.
Changbin stood on top of one of the obstacles, red swim trunks highlighting his tan skin in the sunlight. I turned to find Hyunjin staring lustfully at Changbin’s washboard abs. My elbow jabbed into his stomach earning an annoyed look from my best friend. “What?”
“Aiya?”
“Aiya.....OH! She’s fine. Ai won’t care.”
Another shrill sound came from Jisung’s whistle and he let the metal instrument drop from his lips and let it fall against his bare chest. “Alright!” Chan said into a megaphone, addressing the crowd. “We set up a course this morning to test your abilities. Complete the course in under four minutes if you can, which is the standing record set by our current top guard, Jisung, and you move onto new recruit training.”
Changbin motioned for the speaker. My eyes fell back onto Jisung who seemed to have spotted me in the crowd. He crossed his arms, obviously flexing his muscles and shooting a wink my way. Convinced not to give him any sort of satisfaction, I turned back to Changbin. Jisung was obviously frustrated at my lack of reaction.
“We only have three spots so give it your all! You’ll go do the course in groups of three so get in groups. Try to find some people you don’t know.”
Hyunjin and Jeongin both groaned at the last part of Changbin’s statement. “But what if I don’t like people?” Hyunjin whined. Jeongin let his head hang down, chin touching his tank top clad chest.
“Hyunjin, I don’t like people either. Suck it up. Extra money. Happy girlfriend?” I said looking around the crowd of participants. Two girls wearing very small swimsuits waved me over. I let out a sigh and began walking over. “Good luck boys!” I called over my shoulder.
I scoffed watching some of the other groups go through the course. The ‘Inies’, as I called them, did fine. Hyunjin and Jeongin completed the course only thirty seconds shy of beating Jisung’s record. My group was the last to go. The three of us lined up at the start of the course and waited for Chan to give us the start.
Jisung leaned against one of the setup poles, clearly watching me with a heated stare. “GO!” Chan yelled. Setting my nerves aside I raced onto the course. First I vaulted onto the metal pole and pulled myself over. My feet flew across the sand as soon as they touched the ground. The crowd cheered and I sensed the other two girls hot on my heels. With a burst of energy I sped through the next two obstacles and then ran into the water.
All that was left to do was swim to the buoy and the crawl under the barbed wire. The sand was sticking to every inch of my wet body, the grains scratching against my skin. Ignoring how uncomfortable it felt I pushed myself out from under the barbed wire and sprinted to the bell the boys told us to ring once we finished the course.
Clang!
“That’s time!” Chan called pressing the stopwatch in his hand. I doubled over to catch my breath and Hyunjin and Jeongin came over and clapped their hands on my back. Jisung came to look over Chan’s shoulder and the two exchanged hushed words.
“Listen up folks! Someone has beaten Han’s record. With a time of three minutes and forty-two seconds, and the first member of the new Baywatch recruits: Y/n L/n!” The crowd clapped and Jisung rolled his eyes before sending me a cheeky smirk.
He grabbed the clipboard from Chan’s hands and flipped up a piece of paper. After scanning through the names he tucked the clipboard under his arm, bicep contracting, making my mouth water. “The remaining two spots will be filled by the next highest times; Hwang Hyunjin and Yang Jeongin.”
My boys high fived each other before running over and wrapping me up in a big group hug. “Congrats you guys!” Chan said coming over and joining our hug. It was a little awkward, but we got over it. “Here are your whistles and if you follow us to the Hut we can get you some uniforms!” Chan cheerfully said.
We followed his bobbing head of blonde hair to a raised lifeguard station that was four times as large as the others. “Welcome to the Hut,” Jisung said from behind me. His hand ghosted over my waist as he moved past me and to a row of lockers in the makeshift office. He opened the farthest locker, filled with lots of red garments. He tossed the Inies two pairs each of red swim trunks much like the ones he was wearing.
Jisung then handed me three pieces of red and white fabric. One was a standard one piece and the other was a red bikini I had seen some of the other female lifeguards wearing. “Either are acceptable in the workplace,” He said with a wink.
“The three lockers empty lockers on the end are yours. Go get changed and we’ll start training.” Changbin said. I caught him eyeing Hyunjin as my friend turned around to go change in the small backroom. “Jisung, you and I will take the Inies and Chan can train Y/n.”
“What if I wanna train Y/n?” I heard Jisung whine as I made my way to the backroom.
“Oh please. Like anything would get done then.”
Chuckling I pushed the door open and began changing in the dark supply closet. My elbows knocked against a broom leaning up against the wall as I tied the strap of the red bikini top. “Oh shit-” With fumbling hands, I grabbed at the broom and tried to stand it back in its place.
“Y/n, you okay?” A smooth voice asked from outside the closet door. Jisung wrapped his knuckles against the door. He probably heard me falling over the cleaning supplies.
“Yeah! I’m fine, Han.” I could hear him chuckle from the outside the closet. “You try standing still and putting on this tiny swimsuit!” My ears picked up on Jisung’s quiet laugh. I could see his bright blinding smile in my mind.
“Trust me, I know.”
“What?”
“What-” He cleared his throat and I heard his feet shuffle on the wood floor of the hut. “Uh....listen. Chan is out on the deck waiting when you finish. I’m taking Jeongin out for training.” After a few seconds of awkward silence, I watched the shadow of his feet retreat from the door.
Peeking my head out from the closet I looked to find the office empty. The huge windows let in warm light basking over the white floorboards. My bare feet padded across the floor and I stuffed my clothes in my new locker and grabbed my whistle tossing it around my neck.
Through the big window, I saw Chan leaning on the rail surveying the beach through a pair of binoculars. As I walked outside, I realized he wasn’t watching the waves but rather a certain umbrella down the beach. “Whatcha looking at?”
“AHHH!” Chan jumped almost four feet in the air, screaming his head off. He pressed a hand to his chest and closed his eyes. “Y/n, you gave me a fucking heart attack!” Chan grasped at his chest and gave me a pointed look.
“Sorry!” I patted him on the back and took the binoculars from his hands. My eyes turned to where Chan was previously looking. Under a pink beach umbrella sat a girl with wavy hair wearing a baggy shirt over a swimsuit. She was contently reading a very thick book and sipping on a purple smoothie. “Oh....Now I see what you were looking at.”
Chan blushed next to me and took his binoculars back. Crossing my arms I looked him up and down. “Who would have thought the Bang Chan, Dreamboat of the Beach, would have a crush on a beach bunny?” Chan’s ears turned a dark shade of red. “So, what’s her name?” I said nudging him, giving him a gentle smile.
“Cecilia,” He said shyly rubbing the back of his neck.
“What’s she like?”
He shrugged and looked to where she was lying under the beach umbrella. “We’ve only talked a few times, but-... she’s the sweetest. She’s very wholesome, and a little shy, but... I don’t know. She just makes me crazy in the best way possible.” Chan played with the bracelet on his wrist and timidly looked over at the girl, Cecilia. “She gets a little uncomfortable because I’m always with the guys.”
“Why don’t you go talk to her right now?”
His eyes widened and Chan practically turned into a little blonde puppy. “I get really nervous around her. Do you think she’d like me?” I turned back to the girl to find her already looking this way. When she saw me watching she quickly turned back to her book, shielding her face.
“Trust me. Go talk to her.” After a light shove down the wooden stairs, Chan started venturing towards Cecilia only to double back a second later.
“Oh! All the guards are throwing a bonfire party tonight. Even the ones from the north side of the beach. You and the boys should come!” I smiled from above on the deck.
“Then the Inies and I will be there. No doubt about it.” Chan grinned and gave me a thumbs up before jogging over to the pink umbrella. I turned back into the office and sat at the big desk. A huge binder lay on top of it. “Guess I better educate myself then,” I mumbled, taking the heavy folder and laying it in my lap.
❖
The door of my jeep slammed shut as Hyunjin jumped out of the backseat. The three of us had gone back to our beach rental to shower and change before returning to the bash. Also, Changbin asked us to stop by the store and pick up a keg. Jeongin helped me lift the metal cask down from my car and carry it down the huge bonfire that was lit down on the sand. Music could be heard even from the parking lot.
Hyunjin carried the two lightweight beach bags we brought with us while once again, Innie and I were left with the heavy stuff. “ALCOHOL!” Someone screamed pointing in our direction. Two shirtless boys came running up to us pushing passed Hyunjin.
As they got closer I saw it was Changbin and Jisung. The two skidded to a stop in front of us, their toes burying in the sand. “Wow. This really is the whole package. Hot girl. Beer. What more could a man ask for?” Jisung said throwing an arm around my shoulder.
Jeongin huffed beside me adjusting his hold on the metal container. “What am I? Chopped liver?” I laughed and nudged Jisung’s side.
“Give me hand with this?”
“Sure.” Instead of taking my side of the keg, Jisung walked over to Innie and patted him on the shoulder. “I’ve got it from here, bro.” Jeongin looked from me to the brunette beside him. Before I could say anything, he shrugged and handed the keg to Jisung. I blew a piece of hair out of my face and continued to walk down the beach with Jisung.
The two of us set the keg down near the bonfire. There was a small crowd nearby dancing to the music. By dancing...I meant severely, ferociously grinding. It was an almost laughable sight. “Y/n! You made it!” A voice called. Turning I saw Chan walking towards us, his arm wrapped around the girl from earlier today.
“I did! I see you grew a pair.” He blushed as I motioned to the pretty girl next to him. She was wearing shorts and a baggy t-shirt unlike the rest of us. It seemed everyone else was bikini clad or in swim trunks.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” She asked, pointedly at Chan. He nervously laughed and gave me the cut it out signal.
“Nothing, baby girl. Guys this is Cecilia.” Everyone shook her hand and welcomed Chan’s apparent new girlfriend. Boy, the rest of the daydreaming beach bunnies were going to be sad to hear about this. I saw Cecilia get noticeably uncomfortable when she shook hands with Jisung and Changbin. Oddly Chan was also wearing a hoodie.
Never a day in my life had I seen the man not shirtless. “Are you okay, love?” I asked trying to reassure her. She timidly nodded, playing with the ends of her loose braid.
“Yeah...I’m just a little uncomfortable with the whole....man chests out and about. I’m barely comfortable with myself in a swimsuit.” I smiled and playfully covered up Jisung’s chest with my hands since he was standing next to me.
“Better?”
“Yes. Very.” Jisung said with a smirk.
I couldn’t help but roll my eyes. “I wasn’t talking to you, Han.” He scoffed looking towards Cahn who had his head in his hands. Most likely in shame. Or embarrassment. Before my hands could leave even an inch from his chest, he grabbed my wrists and put my hands back. Cecilia chuckled and held Chan’s hand in hers.
“So, are you two like a thing? Chan said you’re both on the watch as well?” She asked pointing between the two of us.
“No.”
“Yes.”
I looked to Jisung with wide eyes. He let out a flustered laugh, looking between me and Cecilia. “What she means, is that we aren’t a thing...yet.” His hand wrapped around my waist pulling me into his side. This was shocking news to me. I was under the impression Jisung was a player who flirted with everyone.
When no one responded to his awkward answer, Jisung ran an apprehensive hand through his hair. “Umm...well....Y/n how about we save me from this awkward conversation and go for a swim down the beach?” Cecilia and I laughed.
“Sure, why not.”He smiled at my answer. Cecilia turned back to Chan and the two started to wander off on their own. Jisung let me shed my shorts and shoes before dragging me by the hand down the beach a little ways away from the party. Once we were waist deep into the water Jisung let go of my hand only to reach for my waist. Before I knew it I was over his shoulder, his laugh ringing out into the clear night. “Jisung, don’t you fucking dar-”
He didn’t let me finish. Without a second thought, he tossed me into the waves. Instead of popping up right away, I chose to stay under the water. Though it was dark, I could still make out the shape of Jisung’s legs. His muffled voice was calling out my name, concern lacing in his voice. Being careful to avoid touching him, I swam behind him and resurfaced. I pushed my hair out of my face and launched myself onto his back making him scream like a little girl.
“WHAT THE FUCK????!?!?!”
“Gotcha!”
He grinned, twisting his arms behind him and reaching for me. His smile was lighting up the dark. I had never seen him this happy. “Why have we never hung out like this before?” He asked looking over his shoulder at me. His skin radiated warmth in the cool ocean water. “Like, you’ve been coming here every summer. Why haven’t we spent time together?”
I shrugged, casually resting my arms around him. “I don’t know. You’re usually on duty or surrounded by hot girls. Or both.” He scoffed and turned around facing me. “I figured you didn’t even have time to look at someone like me.”
“You cannot be serious.” He laughed when I nodded. “Do you know how many times I was scolded for watching you from the tower? Or going outside my zone just to run past you and the Inies a couple times hoping you would come up and talk to me?”
A heat flooded my cheeks and I was suddenly very aware of how close Jisung was to me. I could practically see the stars reflecting in his big doe eyes. A wind blew across the water hitting my bare shoulders. The waves pushed us closer to shore, but I was captivated by the way Jisung was looking at me. His long fingers brushed away a strand of wet hair that was stuck to my cheek.
His eyes skimmed over my lips, thumb brushing over my cheek. He leaned in only the slightest bit. The air shared between us was warm and electric. I could feel Jisung’s heart hammering in his chest.
Just when I was sure he was about to kiss me, a wave crashed into the back of his head pulling us both underwater. Jisung held tightly onto my waist swimming us both back up to the surface. Our laughs lifted into the night. “Well...I wasn’t expecting that.” Jisung said wading back to shore. He helped me up and took my hand as we trudged onto the beach, sand catching between our toes in a familiar way. “We drifted pretty far from the party. We should head back.”
He kept his hand wrapped around mine as I watched him guide me back to the party, water lapping at our feet. Little pieces of sand were stuck to his tan skin. Instinctively I brushed them away from his back. He turned at the unexpected touch. “Sorry,”
“No...It’s fine.”
Jisung looked down at his feet as we continued walking. My mind started to run wild. What if that wave hadn’t knocked us over? Would he have kissed me? My body knocked into Jisung’s shoulder as he stopped suddenly. “What is it?” Jisung stared down at the sand, his brows furrowed. He bent down and brushed some sand off a bag about the size of my palm. White powder filled half of it. “Ji?”
He had a serious expression I had never seen before. Jisung scanned the horizon and the way we had just come down the beach. “Ji, talk to me. What is it?” He looked back down the bag in his hands.
“We’ve got a problem.” His fingers brushed over mine as he handed me the bag. “It’s C17H21NO4.” I looked up at him brows drawn together.
“Can’t you be a normal person and say cocaine?”
❖
A few days had passed and working on the watch was turning out to make the best summer ever. You got to hang out more with the boys. You discovered that Changbin, Jisung, and Chan were all music majors at the college about an hour away from yours. They were even in a group together called 3RACHA. Chan tended to play their music in the Hut. Hyunjin and I particularly loved a song on Chan’s laptop we found called ‘Wow’.
Jeongin, Hyunjin, and I were all jamming to the song as we waited for the boys to finally come into the hut. We had all woken up early and gotten there early to our shift. “WOW! SHE’S HOT!” We all screamed as the door to the hut opened and the three boys walked into the room. They all grimaced hearing the song.
“IRON MAN IN THE STREETS, BUT I’M BETTER THAN TONY!” We sang just as Chan lunged for the speaker turning it off. “Awwwww! We were having fun!” Changbin grimaced at us and yanked open his locker. Changbin ripped off the tank top he wore and shoved it on the top shelf. Jisung moved to his and did the same. Hyunjin elbowed me in the stomach when he saw me drooling over Jisung’s toned back, eyes wandering once again to the words inked on his side.
“You’re leaking from the mouth.” He said with a smirk.
“Am not.” Just in case, I swiped my hand across my lips. He laughed and grabbed a white cap from his bag covering his blonde hair. “So, Chan, what are we doing today?” Chan shredded his lifeguard hoodie before grabbing a clipboard on the desk.
Jisung and Changbin’s whispering was silenced by Chan throwing a shoe at them. “Ay! Bro! Don’t throw the Nikes!” Changbin said walking over rubbing his head. With an aggravated grumble, Changbin grabbed the clipboard out of Chan’s hands.
Before Changbin could even read the first station, the door to the hut opened and a familiar head of wavy blonde hair walked through the door. “CELI!” Chan screamed. He scrambled to the window and pulled the curtain over his chest. She blushed walking into the room. “Y/n...could you do me a favor...” Chan asked shyly pointing to his discarded hoodie on the floor.
Rolling my eyes with a smile, I picked up his red hoodie and handed it to him. Chan covered himself before emerging from the billowing curtain. Cecilia came to stand next to Jisung. Her eyes glanced over and her ears turned as red as a tomato. Chan immediately took notice and his hands flew to Jisung’s chest.
“Dude. What the fuck are you doing?”
“Censoring your nipples. Duh.”
“......” Jisung looked down at Chan’s hands, to me, then back up to his friend. “This has never been an issue before-”
“WELL, IT IS NOW!”
Hyunjin and I were doing our best not to laugh at Chan’s freakout. “Chan, it’s fine. I can handle it. Yeah...sure.” Cecilia gave a sweet smile and inched farther away from the still shirtless Jisung, who rolled his eyes.
Changbin cleared his throat and tapped the clipboard, annoyance in his eyes. “Can we get back to our jobs people?” After a series of grumbles, Changbin looked down and begin reading off our assignments for the day. “Jeongin, you are working the west tower solo today. Chan, you have the east tower.” He rolled his eyes as Chan whispered something to Celi with a big grin.
“Moving on,” He said pointedly. “Hyunjin you’re with me on Southeast ground patrol. Y/n, you’re with Han covering the southwest near the docks.” He tossed the clipboard on the desk and grabbed his whistle.
“YES!” Jisung cheered, punching the air in joy.
Everyone gave him weird looks. Chan shook his head. “Jisung, you’re the one who made the schedule.”
Jisung’s eyes flicked from me to Chan before he rubbed the back of his neck. His confident smile was now fueled by awkwardness and embarrassment. “Yeah...I remembered that...Come on, Y/n. Let’s go!” As we left Changbin turned the beach speakers on to the playlist for the day. A happy song blasted through the speakers all across the beach as people started to arrive. I think it was by a singer named Jessi. It made me feel confident about the day ahead of us.
Jisung and I ran down the beach to the sector we were covering for the day, waving at pedestrians who called out to us. “We haven’t really gotten a chance to talk since the bonfire,” Jisung said whistle bouncing against his chest as we ran.
The bonfire. Where he almost kissed me. Where he maybe...could have...kissed me. My chest swelled and I decided playing it cool was the best option. “Yeah, what about?” We were nearing the docks so we slowed down to a walk. Jisung seemed more focused on me than on observing and watching the safety of the beachgoers.
“Umm...Why don’t we take our break?”
“Jisung our shift started twenty minutes ago.”
“Let’s just talk under the docks okay?” He said a wild smile lighting up his face. Taking my hand he led me under the sturdy wooded structure. Once again water lapped at my toes, a cooling sensation flowing over the skin on my feet.
My back pressed against one of the wide wooden poles holding up the wharf above. Jisung stood in front of me, hands behind his back, and stare aimed firmly on the watery bay. “Is this about the bag we found on the beach that night?”
“The C17H21NO4?”
“For fuck’s sake just say cocaine, Ji.”
“How do you even know that means cocaine?”
“Ji, I took chemistry. I’m not stupid.”I said with a laugh. He smiled feeling my hand brushed over his arm. Jisung let his gaze wander over me. He smiled taking a step closer. Soon his chest was brushing up against mine.
“No more Han? I’m Ji now?” He smirked. Jisung’s brown shaggy hair fell in front of his eyes. I watched his teeth drag tantalizingly across his bottom lip. His tan skin felt warm under the palm of my hand. Just like the night of the bonfire, there was an electric air between us. It was amazing to feel him so close to me.
Far away music drifted under the dock, but all my focus stayed on the man in front of me. His left hand rested just below my hip. “There are many names I could start calling you.” He rose his brow in interest.
“Like what?”
He leaned down and placed a kiss just above my jaw. He smirked against my skin hearing me let out a small sigh. “I don’t know,” All the nerves in my body were firing off like rockets. “Idiot, knucklehead...my personal favorite is dumbass.” Jisung laughed, his teeth nibbling gently on my ear lobe.
“I can’t take this anymore,” He whispered, in a labored breath. I stared into his brown eyes. The way he was looking at me made my knees go weak.
“What?”
“I’ve got to kiss you or I’m going to go crazy.” He didn’t wait for my answer. Jisung’s lips smashed against mine. He kissed me like he had eaten in days and I was his first taste of succulent delicious food. I let my fingers tangle in his dark brown hair pulling him closer to me. I would have fallen had the pole and Jisung not been holding me up.
Kissing Jisung felt like music. Not one moment was the same but it all flowed as if it was made for one purpose. I felt his hand start to move below my waist, pulling me closer against him, as if there was any space left to begin with.
“Hey, guys.” The walkie-talkie crackled to life. Changbin’s voice had me pulling away from Jisung. He sighed ignoring the call, moving to continue our little makeout session.
“You should pick up; what if it’s important.”
Jisung shook his head kissing me again. “I trust them. Plus they’ve got the Inies.” I smiled, reaching behind Jisung. He smirked feeling my hand on the back of his swim trunks. “Oh really?” He asked, our noses brushing together. He let out a breathy laugh as I bit my lip. His smile fell when I pulled the walkie talkie from its place and pressed it against his chest.
“Pick up the call.”
He sighed, pressing his forehead against mine. “This is SW Patrol; Jisung. What the fuck do you want Changbin?” Jisung backed away only far enough that he could talk on the radio. I smiled watching him all pent up.
“We got a complaint about some serious PDA on the beach. Could you check it out?” Changbin’s voice crackled through the channel. Jisung sighed, but he had a knowing smirk on the corner of his lips.
Another channel crackled to life before he could respond. “Actually that might have been us,” Chan said over the channel. Jisung and I both laughed.
His long slender fingers pressed down opening up the channel for him to speak. “Yeah. It was Chan and Celi. Totally no one in our sector.” Changbin sighed over the radio.
“Both of you quit making out and do your jobs.”
The radio went silent and Jisung returned to his previous position. “Now where were we?” He asked, his hands wondering lower than publicly appropriate. You laughed and kissed him again. “Please just be my girlfriend already?” The boy whispered against my lips.
I opened my eyes to look at him, but something in the distance caught my attention. Out on the water, there was a billowing trail of black smoke. My eyes widened realizing what it was. “Fire.”
“I believe the correct answer is ‘yes’.”
“No, Jisung. Fire. Out on the water.” I exclaimed harshly turning his head out to the bay.
“Oh fuck!” He hastily grabbed the walkie-talkie and tuned into an open channel. “All guards! We have a 10-73! There’s a boat on fire to the southwest. Prepare to go for first response.”
The two of us sprinted out from under the docks. I looked frantically around before my eyes landed on a jetski by the pier. “Ji, let’s go!” I said making a run for it.
I reached the vehicle first and strapped on the emergency belt. “Move. I’ll drive!” Jisung said motioning for me to scoot back.
“Jisung just get on! We have no time for this.”
“But the guy always drives-”
“GET THE FUCK ON YOU LITTLE BITCH WE HAVE PEOPLE TO SAVE!”
Without another word, Jisung threw his leg over the back and we took off out on the waves. The wind blew through our hair as we raced to the sight of the fire. In the corner of my eye, I saw the rescue boat coming from the south with the rest of the boys on it. With one arm, he held onto my waist as I drove the water vehicle and with the other, he reached down and readied some rope and a buoy for survivors in the water. “So,” He said over the roar of the waves. “You didn’t answer my question!”
Unbelievable. “Ji, there’s a fire! Are you sure this is the time?”
“There couldn’t be a better one in my opinion.” I heard him laugh behind me and I couldn’t help but smile. The fire was getting closer now. There were flames burning on top of the water and I could now see that the burning vessel was a yacht.
“Yes. I will be your girlfriend! Let’s do our job now!”
The rescue boat pulled up alongside us, Chan at the helm. “We need to send a team aboard to get survivors!” He called down as I shut off the engine a couple yards away from the flames.
“Don’t worry! I’ve got it!” Before we could say anything Jisung dove into the water and under the flames.
“JISUNG!” I screamed. Without hesitation, I dove in after him.
❖
The heat of the flames brushed above my back through the ocean water. I swam to avoid pieces of falling firey debris. Just as my chest started to burn I resurfaced on the other side of the flames. Frantically I looked around for any sign of Jisung.
The first twenty minutes of us dating and he decides to literally jump into a wall of fire. “Jisung I’m going to fucking kill you when I find you!” A head popped out of the water, shaking out his dark hair. “HAN JISUNG!” I screeched watching him tread water.
He turned, a cheeky smile on his face. “What’s a pretty girl like you doing in a place like this?” I swam over just to whack him upside the head. He rubbed the back of his head before swimming towards the yacht. “You can hit me later. Let’s save some people.”
Together we swam to the side of the ship. The muscles in Jisung’s back flexed as he pulled himself over the side. His hand reached for mine, lifting me over the side of the white boat. Black smoke filled the air and Jisung and I looked for a way into the cabin of the burning vessel.
“Help me!” A girl screamed. I turned seeing a hand reaching out from around the corner.
“There!”
Jisung and I rushed to the woman. She was stuck under a piece of fallen equipment. “Ah! You, sexy water man! You are here to save me, yes?” Somehow despite her dire situation the young woman still managed to push her large breasts forward like a peacock showing off its plumage.
“Y/n, can you get that side and I’ll pull her out?” Nodding I positioned my hands under the heavy equipment and lifted on Jisung’s count. With a grunt I let the heavy object fall back down once the girl was clear. “Signal Chan to come around port side.”
While Jisung busied himself with grabbing an intact life vest for the woman, I ran to the helm sending Chan the signal to come around to the right. When I turned the woman was trying to throw herself all over my new boyfriend. He carried her in his arms, life jacket around her neck. They stood on the port side waiting for Chan.
“Okay, handsome! If you want me you can have me, But, quickly cause the boat is on fire.” She exclaimed, wrapping her long painted fingers around his neck.
She leaned in to kiss him, but before she got close I grabbed her from Jisung’s arms and tossed her into the water where Chan was swimming to the boat to help.
“He’s got a girlfriend too! So don’t try anything!”
Jisung laughed before tapping my shoulder. “That was hot.” Rolling my eyes, I moved back to the cabin which was still very much on fire.
“IN HERE!” Another voice called. Jisung looked for a break in the fire near the door. I watched him ram his shoulder against the wood several times before it broke. The two of us searched the rooms looking for the voice.
I burst through the bedroom door, pain shooting through my shoulder. How the hell did Jisung do it so effortlessly? Probably his Herculean broad shoulders, I thought scowling. The frown fell when my eyes fell to the center of the room. A man maybe in his late forties lay dead on the floor. A bullet hole centered perfectly in his forehead.
All the drawers and closets were spilled open and a trail over white powder stained the carpet. “Shit.” I looked around for any other survivors. “Jisung! Dead body.”
“What do you mean dead bod-” He said walking into the room with a girl, soot covering her face. “Oh...that dead body.” He started stuttering, brown hair falling in front of his round eyes. “Uh....take her. She’s the last one. I checked.” Nodding, I took the girl by the hand and pulled her through the burning boat.
“You’re leaving that lifeguard? What about Councilman Kang?” The skinny woman whined in my arms.
“Don’t worry about Jisung. He’ll take care of it.” The girl screamed as I tossed her overboard to where Chan was waiting below. Not looking back, I dove into the water and swam with Chan and the girl back to the boat.
“Where’s Han?” Chan said as we pulled ourselves aboard the lifeguard's vessel.
The speedboat started moving around the yacht. “He’s towards the front. There was a body.” Chan nodded and looked back at the burning boat. Through the thick black smoke, I saw Jisung at the bow of the yacht carrying the dead man. The flames surrounded the boat giving him no clear place to escape.
Changbin steered the boat as close as he could, but couldn’t get to him. “He can’t go under the flames. Not even Jisung could swim that far carrying that much weight.” The boy said.
“JISUNG!” Chan called, hands cupping around his mouth. The man turned at his hyung’s voice and strained to hear what he had to say. “Move to the back! We’ll come get you!”
“There’s no time!”
“JISUNG DON’T-”
Again, Jisung ignored Chan, diving under the water with the dead Councilman. “JISUNG!” I screamed. We raced into action. Jeongin and Chan jumped on the jet skis attached to our boat and I grabbed a preserver before diving in after him. I was seriously going to kill him if he didn’t die first.
The fire cast a bright orange glow under the water. Spotting Jisung, his body limp and still holding onto the dead man, I started swimming deeper. He must have hit his head on some hidden debris.
Working with fast fingers, I pried his strong grip from the Councilman and pushed the body away from us to the service. Chan would pick it up. I panicked seeing Jisung’s unconscious face. Wrapping an arm securely around his chest I began swimming upwards, the task eight times harder while carrying Jisung’s weight against gravity.
I gasped breaking through the ocean surface. My legs pumped through the water trying to keep both of us afloat as I waved down Jeongin. “Innie! Over here!” My friend steered the jet ski over to us, his black hair flying in the wind.
“He’s unconscious. Help me lift him up.”
Jeongin groaned, trying to lift Jisung onto the ski. I did my best to push him from the other side. “How can he be this heavy? His waist is fucking tiny!” I said pushing my most likely concussed boyfriend across the ski. Changbin was already steering the boat away from the burning yacht as the Coastguard approached. “Let’s go. Jisung needs attention.”
“What else is new?” Innie mumbled before driving the ski towards the boat. I held onto Jisung making sure he didn’t fall off. My hand wrapped securely on his shoulder and thigh, rubbing over the intricate design of the dragon on his skin.
Changbin stopped the boat letting us pull up alongside. Chan and Jeongin carried Jisung laying him on the floor. I crawled over him, checking his mouth to make sure his airway was clear. My hands pressed to his chest starting compressions. After a minute he coughed spewing water up at my face.
Jisung gasped, rolling over but not going far with my ontop of him. The first thing he looked at was me. “You fucking idiot!” I yelled, slapping him across the cheek.
“OW!”
“You could have died, Ji!”
“Dude, she’s right. That was really stupid.” Changbin said starting the boat again. With tired arms, Jisung pushed himself up to a sitting position and wrapped me up in a hug. I heard the girl from before huff and saw her cross her arms watching Jisung hold me so tightly.
I stuck my tongue out at her which earned me a slap on the head from Hyunjin. “Let’s just get back to shore so we can give the police our report,” Chan said handing the girls some towels.
“Anybody have some aspirin?” Jisung asked, rubbing the top of his head.
❖
“Is this what dating you is going to be like?” I asked. Jisung sat on his kitchen counter holding an ice pack to his head. He shrugged and watched me open the first aid kit. Chan sent him home since he had used all his stupid passes for the day.
I drove Jisung to the beach house he rented and was now searching through his inadequately stocked medical supplies.
“Yeah, but I was quite the hero today wasn’t I?”
“You would have been a dead hero had I not gone in after you.” The shirt Jisung lent me brushed over my thighs as I walked back over to him. Delicately, I cleaned the cut on his forehead, ignoring the whines from Jisung. “You saw the drugs in the cabin, right?” I asked hesitantly.
Jisung nodded, looking into my eyes. “Just like we found on the beach the other night.” He looked out the window staring at the sea. Working for the Baywatch must have given him a huge discount because the house was right on the waterfront. “Chan and I have been trying to get the police involved, but they won’t take us seriously.” He laughed and took the supplies from my hands. “They said we were just a bunch of goofy lifeguards probably getting high on the stash we found anyway.”
His hands wrapped mine, playing with my fingers. “Speaking of high,” I said, playing with the bottom of Jisung’s tank top. “Changbin texted me. He said the girls we rescued were high as kites. They were partying below deck so they have no clue how the Councilman ended up with a bullet in his head.”
“They probably got it from the stash on the yacht.” Jisung hopped down from the counter and stood in front of me, his chest brushing against mine. “Also, that was badass what you did to that girl.” With an embarrassed laugh, I buried my face in his chest. “If you want me you can have me, but quickly because the boat is on fire!” Jisung mocked in a high voice.
“Don’t tease her!” My hand softly smacked against his chest. “She was high and you were hot.”
“Were? Past tense?”
“Well, you do have on more clothes now.”
“So, you’re saying I have circumstantial hotness. I see. So, you are only with me because of my abs and tattoos and general lifeguard sexiness?” Jisung smiled, watching me laugh.
“Tell me I’m wrong. If we weren’t dating you would have taken that girl home with you.” Jisung sighed, pulling me closer to him. “That isn’t a no,” I said with a small laugh.
“But, I brought you home.” Jisung’s hands fell below my waist, a smirk playing at the corning of his mouth. He walked me backwards until I was pressed against the kitchen wall, a position he seemed to like me in.
The air had changed between us, now charged with sexual tension. “I would have you right here until you begged for mercy twice,” Jisung whispered, staring into my eyes. My brow quirked up, watching him hungrily gaze down at my lips.
“I’ve never begged in my life.”
“Twice.”
My stomach began to twist itself in knots, making me squeeze my legs together. Never before had I imagined Jisung would be like this. Never in my wildest dreams, which were getting wilder by the second. He exuded dominance pressing his hands firmly into my hips. “Twice?” He nodded leaning closer than I thought possible. His warm breath fanned over my lips.
Just the way he was looking at me was almost enough to push me over the edge and take him right on his kitchen counter. “Bedroom. Now.” My voice was muffled and came out more like a whine feeling his thigh push between my legs. His head dipped letting his lips drag just below my ear.
“Are you sure? Once we start, I might not be able to stop.” All it took was for him to feel me nod before he pulled away and kissed my lips deeply. “Bedroom is that way.” Jisung jerked his head towards the hall pulling his hips against mine.
“Well, you’ll just have to catch me then,” I said cheekily slipping from his grasp and slapping his ass as I ran down the hall. He laughed, the sound of his steps thundering down the hall after me.
I screamed feeling his arms wrap around me and lift me into the air. Setting me down, Jisung enveloped me into a kiss letting his fingers tug my shirt over my head. He tossed me onto his bed, leaving me to watch as he ripped off his shirt. My eyes hungrily dragged over his torso eyeing the tattoo on his side and the way his muscles flexed and contracted as he let out shaky happy breaths.
“You keep staring at me like that and I’ll have to ruin you.” Jisung’s shoulders dropped watching my tongue whip over my bottom lip. “You naughty, naughty girl.” Grabbing my ankles, he tugged me across the bed before sliding my shorts down and flinging them across the bedroom.
Jisung hovered over me, hands traveling anywhere he could reach. I was growing impatient not being able to touch him the way I wanted. My hands pushed against his strong shoulders, flipping him back onto the bed. His arms wrapped around my waist, letting my legs fall on either side of his hips.
I sighed against his lips, feeling his hips press up against mine. Letting my lips guide my actions I moved down his neck and chest. I looked up to see Jisung’s hands covering his face, attempting to silence how I was making him feel. Seeing his reaction, I let my tongue slide over his toned stomach and graze across the inked skin on his right side. A heavenly moan left his lips. My hand fell down further and ghosted over the growling bulge beneath his shorts.
“Ah...fuck-” He moaned as my tongue licked down his torso, inching dangerously close to the low hanging waistband. His head lifted up when I pulled away. “Shit- why’d you stop?”
Smirking, I started playing with the band of his shorts. “Oh, don’t mind me. Just enjoying the view.” As my fingers hooked around the fabric he pulled me back up to his lips and helped me pull them down. “Do you have...you know?” I asked between heated kisses.
Jisung nodded, hands groping my ass and grinding up against my core. “In the drawer.” With quick impatient hands, I reached over to the nightstand yanked open the drawer. “You’re on the pill right? Just in case.”
“Yeah, of course.” Finding a strip of condoms I tore one off, and returned to Jisung’s lips. My eyes closed, letting myself fall into the blissful daze Jisung was sending me into. Letting him wreck and ravish my body was the only thing on my mind.
❖
Almost a month later I found myself in the same place. Jisung’s bed. A light sheen of sweat lay on my skin and his. His sheets did a lousy job of covering anything but my hips resting over his. My head rested on his chest, letting his fingers play with my hair.
His legs were tangled with mine around and under the covers. The art on his side drew my attention. Jisung watched my fingers trace over the words on his ribcage. I had watched him for so long and been with him more than a few times and I had yet to ask him about his tattoos.
Delicately, I traced each line of the words on his ribs; ‘I See’. “What does it mean?” Jisung looked down at me, watching my hand move over the ink.
“It’s the first song I ever seriously wrote.”
“Can I hear it?”
A cool breeze floated through the open windows in his bedroom. The stars reflected on the rolling waves. Jisung shook his head. “It’s nothing much.” He nuzzled into my hair, letting me draw over the natural and drawn lines on his body.
“I doubt that if it is physically inked on your skin.” A laugh rumbled through his chest. My touch wandered down to the dark ink on his thigh. “What about these?”
He looked down and laughed. “Oh- I just like dragons.” Among the black lines and shading of the large dragon wrapped around his thigh were other gorgeous drawings like out of an ancient Japanese text. A symbol caught my eye.
“Is that the Chinese character for soup?”
“No. It means perseverance.”
“No. It means soup.”
Jisung laid his head back on the pillow, eyes wide. “That would explain why the guy was laughing so much when he did the tattoo.” He rolled over on top of me, adjusting the sheets to shield us more from the night wind. His head nuzzled into my neck. “Where do the Inies think you are?” Jisung questioned.
I shrugged. “Hyunjin could care less. He spends most of his nights facetiming his girlfriend, Aiya.”
“Can’t relate. Mine has been in my bed every night.”
Scoffing, my fingers began threading through his dark hair. “Innie is a little suspicious. But, usually, I just buy him boba the next day and he doesn’t care.” Jisung nodded and held onto me like a teddy bear. His warm skin acted like my own personal sun.
“Noted. Jeongin can be bribed with boba.”Jisung’s head lifted hearing a yawn slip past my lips. “You tired, baby? I nodded, cuddling further into him. “Get some sleep. We both have shifts tomorrow.” Jisung leaned over pressing his lips gently against mine. I fell asleep with my arms wrapped around him and his lips sleepily trailing down my neck and shoulder.
❖
“Every night?” My dark haired friend asked in disbelief. Jeongin walked beside me as we made our way back to the Hut. The sunset cast a gold and red glow over the beach. Our shift would be over soon and I could not wait. This had been a long day and I wanted nothing more than to go home and collapse in bed. “You guys are procreating like rabbits.” I laughed at his word choice. “I’m sorry, but I do not need mini Y/ns and Jisungs running around.”
Jeongin climbed the creaky wooden steps up to the Hut. Rough outlines of his feet in sand followed his steps to the door. Through the windows, I could see Hyunjin, Changbin, and my boyfriend inside. “Where’s Chan?” I asked seeing him missing as we entered the base.
Changbin sighed, flipping through the day’s log. “He took Celi down to the dock to watch the sunset.” I caught Jisung eyeing me from across the room. He stuck out his tongue and shook his head at me, eliciting a laugh.
“So, Inies,” Changbin started. The blonde and brunette raised their heads waiting for what Changbin had to say. “Looks like it’s your turn to do the night walk.” They groaned and whined. The night walk was done by two lifeguards after the beach closed. It was typically a long cold walk with flashlights making sure no one was on the beach. It usually took an extra two hours that you did not get paid for.
“But, Aiya is waiting for me to call!”
“I just want to go home!”
Jisung shot me a look standing near his open locker. He crossed his arms, tan shoulders leaning against the cool metal. Despite my tired feet and my urge to sleep for a week I smiled, knowing what he was thinking.
“Y/n and I can do it.” The Inies quickly stopped their pleading turning to my boyfriend.
“No argument from me. They can do it.” Hyunjin said grabbing his stuff and racing out the door. Jeongin quickly followed. Changbin shrugged, tossing the clipboard on the desk.
“Y/n, you might want a jacket. It’s going to get cold.” Changbin said, patting my shoulder. He turned to the boy with tousled brown hair and threw him the ring of metal keys. “Jisung, don’t forget to lock up when you’re done.”
With a final wave, Changbin grabbed his bag and shut the door behind him, descending the stairs. “You’re buying me dinner,” I said wrapping my arms around his waist. “Pizza sounds good.”
“That’s fair. I’ll get you pizza.” Jisung cupped my cheeks before pecking my lips. He turned back to his open locker, pulling out a grey unzipped hoodie. “Here.” The fabric swallowed me as he sweetly helped me slip my arms into the jacket. Listing his head, he smiled, cheeks filling and eyes turning into crescent moons. “You look too cute.”
I smiled watching him lean down and capture my lips in a kiss. My stomach twisted in knots only he could tie. “We should get going. I want my pizza sooner than later.” He nodded and grabbed two flashlights. Slipping my phone into the jacket pocket I followed Jisung down onto the beach.
Time always seemed to pass quickly with him. It felt like this summer had only started yesterday, so by the time we reached the end of the beach hand in hand my tiredness was long forgotten.
“Yeah, so then Changbin-” Jisung interrupted his own story. His eyes strained against the dark. “Do you see that?” Further down the shore, my eyes pushed past the darkness to see the outline of a speedboat beached on the sand. Several men were loading packages onto the vessel.
“Yeah,” I latched onto Jisung’s arm looking up at him. “You want me to call it in?”
He shook his head continuing to watch from afar. “No, Changbin already left. Stay here. I’ll go check it out.” Turning on his flashlight, he kissed my cheek before walking down the beach.
A chilling breeze blew over the sand. Shoving my hands in my pockets I watched Jisung approach the four men. The beam from his light fanned over the wrapped cargo. My skin crawled. Something felt off. I couldn’t hear anything from where I stood, but I could tell the men were getting more than angry at Jisung for walking into whatever they were doing.
The muscles in Jisung’s back rippled as he pointed up the beach, most likely telling them to leave. My body froze. Under the moonlight, I thought I saw the glint of a gun being pulled from a jacket. All I could do was try not to scream hearing the sound of a round being fired and watching Jisung fall to the ground.
“Jisung!”
Ignoring the man they just shot, the men pushed the boat out into the water. The sand beneath my feet made it hard to run. I slipped and fell but scrambled to my feet racing over to Jisung. He clutched his stomach, labored breaths struggling to escape.
“Jisung!” He looked up at me as I kneeled next to him. Moving his hands I saw blood seeping out of the bullet wound. Jisung struggled to keep his eyes open. “Ji, baby, stay with me.” He cried out in pain feeling me put pressure on the wound. Hands shaking, I pulled my phone out of my pocket.
Dialing emergency services, I waited for someone to answer as Jisung still bled out beside me. “Yes? Hello! I’m at Cheonsa Beach! It’s an emergency. We need an ambulance.”
“Okay, calm down Miss.”
“Calm down? My boyfriend was just shot!”
The sound of her typing carried through the phone. “The ambulance is three minutes out.” Nodding, I looked back at Jisung. “Just keep pressure on the bullet wound and make sure your boyfriend stays awake.” In the distance, I heard the sound of sirens.
“Over here!” Several EMTs ran towards us with a gurney. “We’re over here!” More sirens approached, flashing red and blue.
“What happened?”
“We were making sure everyone had left the beach. We saw some guys loading packages into a boat and he told me to wait while he went to check it out. The next thing I know they shot him and sailed off.” They nodded and lifted Jisung onto the gurney. Running alongside them, they asked me questions about Jisung, most of which I couldn’t answer. “Sorry, I don’t know.”
“Okay. You can ride with us to the hospital. You’ll have to give a statement to the police and you’re boyfriend will most likely need surgery.”
Hoisting myself up into the ambulance I sat next to the gurney, holding onto Jisung’s hand. The EMT with us tried to keep him awake by asking him questions. “Is he going to be okay?”
“He just in shock right now. We’ll have to do more tests when we get to the hospital.” She gave me a less than an optimistic smile. “Just in case- we tell most everyone this. You should call someone to be with you.” Not letting go of Jisung’s hand I reached once more for my phone. My heart stopped seeing the dark red stains on my hand. Shakily I called the first person I thought of who I wanted with me. They picked up on the second ring.
“Y/n, what’s up. I’m not-”
“Jeongin...something happened.”
❖
The bright lights of the hospital hallways were still hurting my eyes despite the many hours I had spent here. Jisung’s blood stained hoodie still hung on my shoulders. Jeongin had grabbed some board shorts from his bag so I was a little more covered standing in a passageway teaming with medical professionals.
Apparently, he and Hyunjin had just gotten back to our rental house so they raced back over still in their beachwear. Jeongin called the other boys and Chan left Celi to meet us at the hospital. It was almost eighteen hours since Jisung had been admitted and I had been talking to the police for the last three. Changbin stepped out of the room an hour ago letting me know that he Jisung had woken up.
My mind was elsewhere, thinking about nothing but seeing my boyfriend. “Thank you so much for your statement. We will be in contact later about the investigation.” Nodding I bowed to the officer, desperately wanting to go back into the hospital room. “An officer will be back in a few days to take your boyfriend’s statement as well. I hope he makes a quick recovery.”
The officer shook my hand and then bid me farewell. The click of the door was an announcement of my entrance. All five pairs of eyes stared at me as I closed it behind me. I was first drawn to the dark round set sitting in the bed. Wasting no time I rushed to Jisung. It took all of my strength not to cry feeling him hold onto me so tightly.
“You’re okay,” I whispered into his neck.
“I’m not going anywhere, baby. You’re stuck with me.” Jisung pulled me to sit on the bed so he could hug me even tighter. The second I felt him pull away I was prepared to let him go, instead, he pulled me down kissing me deeply.
“Guys- get a room.”
Jisung pulled away, eyes wide and a shy smile on his face. “Hey! This is technically my room! I’ll kiss my girlfriend if I want to.”
Jeongin rolled his eyes, crossing his arms over his bare chest. “That’s my best friend your kissing. Watch your hands, assface.” Jisung removed his hands from well below my waist seeing the death inducing glare the youngest Inie was sending his way.
“How are you guys not cold?” I asked noticing all of them had come still in their beachwear. None of them seemed to find the time to put on a shirt. Changbin shrugged and flexed next to Chan. “No shirt, no shoes, no problem.” He said slapping his bicep.
“I don’t think that applies to a hospital,” I whispered, lacing my fingers with Jisung’s. He chuckled, but winced clutching his side.
Chan sighed and motioned me over. Reluctantly I left Jisung to talk to him. “The doctor said he’ll have to stay here for at least a week. Maybe a couple days more.” My fingers raked through my hair as I watched Jisung swat away Hyunjin’s hands from a box of chocolates someone had left for him. “We’re going to have to keep a close eye on him when he gets discharged.”
I nodded. “Look I’ll stay here tonight with him. When he gets discharged, I’ll stay at his place and make sure he doesn’t do anything stupid.”
“Y/n,” Chan started, gently holding onto my arm. The action felt brotherly, like he was taking care of me. “You’ve been awake for over thirty-six hours. I can stay here tonight. Celi said she would drop by later anyway.”
“Chan, I’m not leaving him.”
He opened his mouth about to say something but was interrupted by the door swinging open and a cheery brunette waltzing in. She carried a plate covered in a clear wrap. “Knock, knock! I- oh....this is uh...” Her eyes widened and her cheeks turned red seeing all but Jisung standing around shirtless. Eyes bulging, Chan lept for the curtains covering himself. Jeongin grabbed an extra blanket form Jisung’s bed and Changbin hid behind me. Hyunjin grabbed the nearest object to him which happened to be a bedpan.
“EEEEKK!” He screeched realizing what it was, the metal object crashing onto the floor.
“Celi! Uhh... I thought you were coming later?” Chan stuttered from behind the somewhat sheer curtain over him. He seemed drawn to curtains in these situations.
Doing her best to suppress the blush on her cheeks she set the plate down on a table and pulled a hoodie out of the bag she had with her, tossing it to her boyfriend. “Well, I made cookies and thought it would make Jisung feel better.” She motioned to the platter filled with homemade baked goods.
Jisung’s eyes narrowed in confusion. “I got shot. How are cookies supposed to help?”
A fire lit in Chan’s eyes and I sent an equally chilling glare his way. “Jisung!” I scolded through my teeth.
“THANK YOU FOR THE COOKIES! I LOVE THEM VERY MUCH!” He screeched in higher register than I thought possible as he slid down the headboard, hiding from the combined power of Chan and my glares.
Thanking Cecilia again on my boyfriend’s behalf I took the cookies and brought them over to his bedside table. Like second nature, Jisung pulled me next to him on the bed and watched me unwrap the plate. He opened his mouth, expecting me to feed him a still warm and gooey cookie.
Jisung whined when I bit into it instead. “Y/n, baby, I got shot. Please!” Rolling my eyes I placed a cookie in his mouth and watched his cheeks fill up with the sweet goodness Celi had made. He smiled and gave her a thumbs up. “Thank you, gorgeous.” He said kissing my cheek. I shrugged and fought the smile edging its way onto my face.
“You get shot again, and I’ll have to kill you, Han.”
Jisung smiled, eyes crinkling up before he nodded. “I promise I won’t get shot by drug traffickers.” I leaned down kissing him again. His familiar long fingers brushed over my cheek.
“Y/N L/N!”
My name was screamed from the doorway. Jumping away from Jisung I saw my parents standing there, fury the only expression on their faces. “Mom?” Jisung looked from me to my mother, eyes wide and most likely more afraid of her than he was of me earlier.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” My father yelled. Even Changbin flinched at his tone. Hyunjin and Jeongin were used to situations like these and slowly decided to hide behind the closet. The tension in the room couldn’t be cut with a knife it was so thick.
“Who the hell is he? Is he the one who almost got you shot?” My mother screeched, pointing at Jisung. I stood at a loss for words. The man in the bed looked up at me with soft doe eyes, clearly confused.
“Mom, you don’t understand. It wasn’t Jisung’s fault. He did nothing wrong-”
“You could have died because of him!”
“Mom!”
My father sighed stepping in. The rest of the room watched the exchange quietly. “Your mother is right. You are coming home with us. We let you come to the beach one last time to spend the summer with your friends. Instead, we get a call in the middle of the night saying your little boy toy has you involved in a drug investigation.” Jisung threw his legs out of the bed but I stopped him from getting up.
“Dad, Jisung is-”
“I don’t care if Jisung is Gandhi. You are coming home with us and you are never coming back to Cheonsa.” Not letting me say another word, my father grabbed my wrist and began dragging me out the door. I heard Jisung clamber out of the hospital bed and the others attempt to stop him. Looking back I saw him tearing out IVs and pushing past the boys as my parents dragged me away.
“Dad, please!”
“Sir! Mr. L/n! Please!” Jisung ran after us down the hall nurses staring as he clutched his side. “Please! Mr. L/n! I love your daughter. Please, let me explain!” I turned back with wide eyes, but all I could see was Jisung and the heartbroken look on his face as my parents pulled me into a closing elevator.
He loved me.
❖
Jisung’s POV
I sat staring at my phone. Nothing. I had heard nothing from Y/n in the past twelve days. The Inies reassured me that she was fine, but her parents had confiscated her phone and basically put her under house arrest.
This was all my fault.
It felt like a part of me was missing. My thumb hovered over my gallery wanting to look at her pictures again. Unable to resist the urge I opened the app and smiled seeing her face. In only two months my camera roll had become full of her.
Just as I was about to click on a photo my phone was snatched out of my hand. “You packed, bro?” Hyunjin asked tossing my phone onto the bed. I nodded towards the bag in the chair. I was being discharged in an hour. Yesterday I passed the physical saying I was good to go home. But, home wasn’t home without Y/n. Jeongin entered the room and gave me a pity smile. With one last check-in from the doctor, I was released.
“Is this really necessary?” I questioned the nurse as Jeongin pushed me through the lobby in a wheelchair. Hyunjin was taking photos of me a giant grin on his face.
“Yeah, is this necessary?” Jeongin groaned from behind me. The nurse nodded and opened the door for us. Jeongin noticed my, for lack of a better descriptor, depressed as fuck face. “Dude, if you miss her this much go get her.”
Jeongin stopped just outside the hospital doors, making me turn my head. “I can’t even protect myself from thugs on the beach. How am I supposed to take care of her? How am I supposed to prove myself to them? I’m a music production major. Her parents aren’t going to take me seriously.”
Hyunjin rolled his eyes coming to stand in front of me. “Okay, first of all, you were attacked with a gun. You aren’t fucking Superman. No matter how much you work out your abs will not stop a bullet.” I looked down at my hands, taking in everything the blonde said. “You’ve just got to seize the day. If you want her, go and get her.”
“Seize the day? Really?” Jeongin asked, brows raised.
“I watched Dead Poets Society last night. Sue Me. Robin Williams is a fucking genius.”
As the two of them argued about Robin Williams, I thought more about what Hyunjin said. I was never going to get her back if I didn’t try. If I didn’t believe I could convince her parents, then I wouldn’t be able to. I would do anything to be with Y/n. “You’re right,” I said standing up from the wheelchair, stopping the Inies’ argument. “I am gonna seize the day!”
It was Jeongin’s turn to roll his eyes and he pushed me back down into the chair. “Seize the day when there is less of a hole in your stomach.” With a huff, I sat back down as Innie pushed the chair forward towards the car. “Also,” The young black haired boy started. “Seize your wallet. There’s a taco truck down the street and I’m hungry.”
Reluctantly, I pulled my wallet from my bag to pay for Jeongin and his tacos. I wasn’t about to wait on Y/n though. The second I was able, I was going to get her back.
❖
Y/n’s POV
“Y/n, are you sure you don’t want to eat?” My mom called from downstairs. I laid on my bed staring up at the ceiling. Subconsciously I lifted the black shirt I was wearing up to my nose and breathed in the scent. My parents were kind enough to let me go back to the beach house the Inies and I shared and let me pack.
Wearing Jisung’s shirt gave me a little bit of comfort. That was until I thought about the fact my parents never wanted me to see him again. The shirt smelled like rain on the beach. A very certain scent. A scent that seemed to follow Jisung no matter where he went.
“No. I’m not eating,” I shouted back.
Rolling over my bed, I turned to see a stuffed octopus staring back at me. “What are you looking at?” It did nothing but keep its sewn smile on its purple face. Downstairs I heard the doorbell ring. Not taking the plush octopus’s shit, I threw it across the room in anger. Faintly I heard the sound of the door opening and a familiar voice floated through the house. Great, now I was imagining his voice.
Wait. No. That was him. That was Jisung’s voice. Falling off the bed, I scrambled to my feet swinging my bedroom door open. Hiding behind the stair banister, I watched my mother reluctantly let Jisung into the house. His dark hair was neatly styled and pushed away from his forehead. Simple silver earrings dangled and bounced against his skin. He wore a navy suit jacket and a simple white shirt, tucked into the matching dress pants. The pants were cropped making him look a little taller and revealing the tan skin of his ankles.
Jisung respectfully bowed as my father entered the room and looked around, eyes turning to the staircase. I ducked down, hitting my head on the railing in the process. “Ow-shit,” I whispered rubbing the top of my head.
Peaking around the corner I saw my parents lead Jisung into the living room. He sat down on the couch, still in my view. My parents sat across from him, their backs to me. Just seeing his face made my heartrate shift to lightspeed.
“I would like to reintroduce myself,” He started, deep voice bouncing off the walls and carrying to my hiding place. “My name is Han Jisung. I’m twenty years old. I’m a music production major at Seoul University....and your daughter is the love of my life.”
I could already see my mother shaking her head. She wouldn’t except less than a rich doctor with a terrible personality for me. Let me tell you, most of the medical students don't have time to date. I could tell Jisung was starting to get nervous by the way his leg shook and he began anxiously turning the ring on his left hand round his finger.
“Let’s just push away the fact that you nearly got my daughter shot.” Jisung winced and looked away, before meeting my father’s eyes once more. “What are your intentions with my daughter, Y/n?”
Jisung sighed, wringing his hands together. What were his intentions with me? I knew that he was serious about our relationship, but past that I was clueless. With an unwavering gaze, he looked back to my father. “I intend to marry her, sir. Not any time soon, but I do want to marry her. I want to spend the rest of my life with her. I love Y/n.”
It was impossible to keep the smile from spreading over my face. My parents shared a look, but from their body language, I already knew what their answer was. “Mr. Han,”
“Please, Jisung is just fine.”
“Jisung,” My mother continued in a cold tone. “We want you nowhere near our daughter. She has a bright future in front of her and you will only hinder it. You are just a constant reminder of her days prancing around on the beach. We cannot allow this relationship to continue, especially with her safety involved.”
His eyes visibly saddened and his shoulders sunk. “But-”
“If you know what’s best for you...what’s best for Y/n...you will let her go. You will walk out that door and never see her again.”
“What if I say no?”
My mother straightened her posture and smoothed out her dress. “If we find out you are seeing Y/n...we’ll withdraw her tuition payment and disown her. She’ll be kicked out onto the street. Can you live with that?”
I watched the gears turn in Jisung’s head. I wanted him to stand up and say that he didn’t care. To say that he just wanted to be with me. I would choose him in a heartbeat.
Instead, his head hung low and he ran his long fingers through his dark locks. “No, I couldn’t.”
My mother, obviously pleased, stood up a clear smile was heard in her voice. “Then your business here is done.” Jisung watched my mother move towards the entryway, clearly wearing his heart on his sleeve. He made no attempt at hiding how heartbroken he was.
“Will you at least let me say goodbye to her?” He pleaded, round doe eyes turned down and expecting a bad answer. My father sighed, before looking upstairs.
“Make it quick.”
Jisung’s head shot up, eyes filling with hope. He looked to the stairs before hesitantly walking towards them. I sprinted to my room leaving the door open just a crack. As I turned, I face-planted onto my carpet. Looking back I glared once again at the purple octopus that had caused my fall. Angrily chucking it somewhere else in the room I stood up and waited for Jisung to come in.
A hesitant knock filled my bedroom. He did not wait to enter. Jisung looked around before his eyes finally settled on me. I wasted no time in rushing to him. Wrapping my arms around his neck I crashed my lips onto his. My heart broke feeling him hold onto me so tightly. Jisung pulled away with sorrow filled eyes.
“I came to say goodbye.”
“I know. I heard everything.” Jisung rested his forehead against mine, eyes closing. “Jisung this isn’t your choice.” He shook his head still not looking at me. His lips pressed against mine softly once more.
“I’m not letting you throw away your life for me.”
“What if I want to?” Jisung looked me in the eyes. I could tell he was searching for any hesitance. “You love me.” It wasn’t a question and he knew it. Silently, he nodded still searching my face.
“Let’s run away. Screw my parents. I have enough in my savings to finish my degree.”
“Baby, I can’t do that to you. There’s no guarantee in my future. I might not be able to provide for you. I love you enough to understand that letting you go while it kills me...is what is best for you.” Our voices had moved to hushed whispers.
The back of my hand brushed over his cheek. “That’s not your decision to make.” He chuckled, still wincing a little from his healing wound. “I love you, Jisung. I’m asking you to run away with me.”
Once again I saw the gears begin to turn in his brain. He took more time thinking this through than he did downstairs. My heart hammered in my chest waiting for his answer. It stopped when his lips pressed against mine in a slow sensual kiss.
“Pack your bags,” Jisung whispered against my lips.
❖
A year had passed. My legs rested on either side of the surfboard floating on the water. The waves swayed them beneath the surface and I watched the slim form of Jisung ride a wave closer to where my board floated. I smiled watching him wipe out, disappearing beneath the blue water. Turning back, I saw the beach house on the shore, lights on, and waiting for us to return home from our sunset surf.
“Hey, gorgeous,” Jisung said popping up beside my board. His long fingers were wrapped around the tip of his own surfboard keeping it from floating away. His other arm rested on top of mine and lacing our fingers together. He smiled watching the glint on my left hand shine in the setting sun.
My eyes fell to his chest, most of it submerged. Through the water, I saw his newest tattoo and smiled. My name right over his heart. “Nice wipeout.” Jisung rolled his eyes before letting go of my hands and swimming over to his board and pushing himself up. We let the slowly decreasing waves push them next to each other, our legs brushing through the cold clear water.
“You don’t regret leaving with me do you?” Jisung asked, looking at the sunset.
I shook my head, staring at the red and orange glow of the disappearing sun. “Not one bit.” Jisung turned, grabbing my hand. With a smile, our lips connected just as the sun sunk beneath the waves. This was only the beginning of my life with Jisung.

Kel and Aubrey going around interacting with people to learn about the different cultures everywhere as they travel, wearing cultural outfits, participating in cultural activities, just having an overall good time...
Would they be good at any cultural dances? Since they're traveling to Spain first, I can just imagine Aubrey in a flamenco dress with Kel as they just dance together and enjoy themselves (or maybe Kel wearing the dress- or maybe both of them wearing dresses-)
...I kinda wanna draw them dancing around together now.
-from a videogame-world traveling anon
nonnie.....nonnie wait....if you drew something we created together I would be SO EMO WAIT!!! No oh my god like my brain literally just exploded like art?? ART??? I wanna be able to draw so bad...but I can’t I just gotta continue on w my lil writing bits....here take some more writing bits nonnie
*Singing to myself* This got lonnng againnnn I’m putting itttt under a readdd moreeeee
Kel’s parents are....less than pleased to find out their son isn’t directly going to college like Hero did, and they make that known.
They don’t approve of his choice to take at least one gap year. They don’t approve of him not continuing his education. They don’t approve of him throwing away his life for that bad girl that spent so many years terrorizing him. Even two years after changing her ways, Aubrey is still regarded as a nuisance among the town old timers. Kel’s parents tell him plainly that they don’t approve of Aubrey, and they won’t be changing their mind.
Which leads to Kel having a minor breakdown and finally admitting what he’s known his whole life- that he will never be good enough to measure up to Hero, and he’s finally tired of trying to be someone he’s not. He isn’t Hero and he never will be, but for once he wants being Kel to be good enough.
Seeing their bright positive middle child finally crack under the weight they’ve been unintentionally laying on him is...it’s painful. Kel’s parents never meant to make it a competition between their sons, they just wanted what was best for both of them.
Having Kel sobbing at their dining room table at 3:00 am on the night of his high school graduation teaches them that they might not know what’s best for Kel after all.
So...yeah the talk the morning after that is filled with a lot of awkward pausing. Kel isn’t used to sharing his true feelings, and he isn’t used to exposing anything other than cheerful hope. Ultimately they come to an agreement. Kel can go with Aubrey, follow her and his heart on their crazy plan, but he has to spend the year before they leave working and earning and not just hanging around the house
That was Kel’s plan anyway, so he’s ecstatic. He calls Aubrey immediately after, and she comes over so they can plan things out together
That year before they leave is definitely not easy. They’re working multiple retail and menial labor jobs, spending 12-15 hours a day on their feet in steamy kitchens, being screamed at by rude customers, and delivering so. many. pizzas.
At some point in that year Aubrey and her mother have the inevitable fight that has been coming her whole life, and her mother kicks her out. Aubrey shows up in the middle of the night with her things next to her. Kel’s mother welcomes her inside and gets her a cup of tea. Kel wakes up and comes downstairs the next day to see his partner curled up asleep on the couch under a blanket his mother had just finished knitting
His mother doesn’t explain anything (”It’s her story dear not mine”) but after Aubrey comes to stay with them his parents warm to her quickly. Aubrey and Kel are allowed to share the room that Hero and he once shared, but they’re adamant that the beds stay on opposite sides
((He and Aubrey fit cramped but happy into his twin bed every night, but she always wakes up early to switch beds in order to be respectful to his parents wishes))
Soon enough its the afternoon before their journey is beginning (They decided to redeye to Sevilla). They have hostel confirmation numbers for a dozen different European countries, a thick binder of plans and itineraries, and a joint account that has a surprising amount of money in it.
Turns out working 15 hours a day, taking only your eight paid vacation days, and having all of your dates be creative free dates in the five hours a week you both have off together means that you are able to acquire quite the nest egg. Kel’s parents sit them down at the dining room table, and his father is shocked to see how this year has shaped Kel.
It’s a strange thing to see your son as an adult for the first time. It didn’t feel strange when it was Hero, he always expected it from Hero. Seeing it in Kel rocked him.
They drive the two young adults (calling them kids now feels...wrong) to the airport and make them promise to call and write daily.
There’s an undeniable energy and excitement as they board the plane. He and Aubrey breathe an audible sigh of relief. They shouldn’t, but they sleep on the plane. After a year of running, they’ve earned it
OKAY SO THAT WASN”T AT ALL WHAT YOU ASKED FOR....HERE HAVE DANCE LESSON HEADCANONS
Aubrey planned for everything, so she planned that they would need at least two days to recover when they finally got to Spain. The first two days are spent in a combo of sleeping and eating fantastic food and finally being able to spend a full night in bed together instea of sneaking unsuccessfully around Kel’s parents.
She splurged and got them a private room at their first hostel in Sevilla. It was more expensive, but ultimately so very very worth it.
But day three is when they start to explore. They finally venture off of the block around their hostel and began to deep dive into the tiny back paths of the city. They meet a nice handful of locals who invite them to breakfast the next morning (Kel’s spanish speaking skills are undeniably useful to them in this moment)
And that night...that night is the beginning of the wish fulfillment she’s waited for since she was five years old. A flamenco lesson that promises an authentic experience, real outfits, and a party for all involved at the end. Aubrey was frugal with accomodations, but she spared no expense when it came to the experiences. Especially this one.
Flamenco is traditionally a single dance with one woman, but she asked and Kel is allowed to come if he likes. The instructor in charge recognizes Aubrey from her call, and drags Kel over to where another man sits with a guitar. He and the man begin to converse in Spanish, and Kel seems to be rapidly making plans. He’s fine with only watching for tonight, this is her dream
Aubrey is thrust into a room with a bunch of other tourists, even a few from her own state, and a gaggle of women who work at the studio. They show her a row of gorgeous traditional dresses, an overwhelming rainbow of frills and explosions of color.
Aubrey has let her hair go back to it’s natural color by this point, and her long dark locks catch the eye of one of the instructors who pulls her over to a corner of the rack of dresses. The instructor winks at her and pulls out a dress. It’s perfect.
Kel is also having a fantastic time. He and the guitar player who’s name is Raphael are discussing guitar playing. Raphael wants to teach Kel to play himself so “He can play for his lady when she wants to dance for him again”
All conversation stops when Aubrey walks out.
The others are dolled up as well, but Kel only has eyes for his girl. Her dress is black, hugging to her waist and her body. As the ruffles of the dress begin on her arms and her legs, the dress goes from black to a striking bright red. Around her wrists and on her neck is bright gold jewlery, gleaming against her skin.
Aubrey’s dark hair is wrapped up in a bun with a series of pink to red carnations following the curve of her hair. Her lips are tinged with maroon lipstick.
Kel is left speechless. Aubrey asks him something and Kel just has to nod and try to catch his breath. The rest of the group giggle at their antics, and Aubrey rolls her eyes at him. She presses a kiss to his cheek, maroon imprint left in its wake, and then she is over with the other girls in front of the instructor.
Raphael begins to play at the instructors insistence
The dance lesson is fun. Even just watching Kel has fun. Aubrey normally has a hardness in her eyes, a tightness in her shoulders as if she’s always waiting for the other shoe to drop. Within minutes of the instructors careful praise and guidance Aubrey is loose and even giggling. Kel hasn’t heard a sound like that from her since they were children.
At the end the group performs the dance all together to a raucuous applause form Kel, Raphael, and the instructor. Then they all go to the patio behind the studio which has been decked out in warm golden lanterns with a table of food prepared.
Raphael begins to play again and the others mingle close to the food. Aubrey takes Kels hand and they go to a separate corner of the dance floor. They don’t dance in any particular way, just holding one another and rocking to the melody. Her hair has begun to come out of it’s tight bun, but her eyes are bright with happiness and she can’t manage to stop smiling
That night under the glow of the lanterns is the night they first say they love each other. It was a given, they already knew it, but those words are saccharine sweet against their lips as Kel holds Aubrey close to him and they spin while the music plays.

AN: I went over this thing about five times so any mistakes are mine. Enjoy!
Happy Birthday Sam
“Happy birthday Mr. Wesson.”
Sam jumped startled as Becky appeared in front of him with a card. “I took the liberty of having everyone in the office sign a birthday card for you.”
“Thanks, Becky…” Sam awkwardly took the card from her.
“Hard to believe you’re turning thirty-six today, you hardly look a day over twenty-eight,” she added.
He raised an eyebrow at her. “...How do you know I’m turning thirty-six?”
She blushed and tapped her headset. “Sandover Publishing House. How may I direct your call?” She gave Sam an apologetic smile before she hurried off back to the receptionist’s desk.
He shook his head and walked down the hall to his office. He flipped on the lights as he stepped inside and went over to his desk with the intention of turning on his computer and paused when he saw the flowers on his desk. It was a mixed bouquet and lavender and orange roses tied together with a bow in a clear vase.
Sam picked up the small card attached to the vase and read the small note. Happy Birthday was written on the card in neat calligraphy. He tucked the card back in amongst the flowers and looked up at the knock on his door.
“Morning Rowena,” he smiled at the older woman. “No Dean this morning?”
“Poor dear’s at home sick as a dog,” she answered. “He wanted to make sure you took a look at the candidates for the assistant head of IT position. Though we both agree Miss Bradbury is the best choice for the job.”
“Well at least he took his sick days this time instead of trying to work through it like before,” Sam told her.
He flipped through the files Rowena had given him and then handed them back. There was a green tab sticky on the second file, usually Dean’s indication who would be the best fit. Red was ‘No way in hell’ and yellow meant ‘with a little work they’d be good’.
“If Dean says she’d be a good fit, then give her a call and schedule a drug test and background check,” Sam told her. “I trust his judgment. He hired me after all.”
“Wonderful, we’ve already got her scheduled for next Monday,” Rowena told him. “Oh, and before I forget. I left you a little something in your second drawer. Happy birthday Sam.”
He started to protest but she was already gone. He sighed and opened the second drawer of his desk and saw a gold gift bag. He peeked inside and saw an assortment of various candles. He made a mental note to send her a thank you card.
Sam reached for his phone as it started ringing and leaned back in his chair
“Wesson speaking,” he answered.
“I can’t do it.”
Sam rolled his eyes. “Can’t do what Chuck?”
"I can't do it. Speak in front of all those people, what am I supposed to say?" The man asked. "What if I say the wrong thing? What if they don’t like the new book?”
"You'll be fine Chuck," Sam told him. "It's a simple interview. Answer a couple of questions, announce the publication date for the new book. Take some pictures with a few fans, you'll be home by 9 pm to chat with Mistress Magda."
"Okay," the man took a deep breath. "Okay. Thanks, Sam...and Happy Birthday. I uh, I forgot to get you a gift."
"Don't worry about it," Sam answered.
He hung up and turned his attention to be his email to get started on work. He was tempted to shoot Dean and email and see how the other man was doing. Even if he was home sick, Dean was a workaholic at heart.
He grabbed his phone as it started ringing again.
“You’ll be fine Chuck, ” Sam said by way of greeting.
“...It’s Cas..” Castiel replied.
“Sorry, sorry,” Sam apologized. “Chuck called about his interview, but that’s not important. What’s up?”
“There was an issue with the printers,” Castiel answered. “The book covers, they’re uh…” he trailed off awkwardly.
“I’m on my way,” Sam told him.
He hung up and made his way down to the receiving bay. Castiel was at one of the tables with one of the large boxes of books open, a few stacked next to him, and packing peanuts on the floor.
“What’s the problem Cas?” Sam asked
Castiel wordlessly handed Sam one of the books and Sam snorted as he looked at the cover
“...At least it’s tasteful?” Sam added.
“We can not put these on the shelves, no matter how...tasteful,” Castiel replied. “Adler would have a fit. He’s still upset about that petition that went around a few months ago when we announced the reprinting of books 1-5.”
“Adler can suck on a lemon,” Sam said bluntly. “How many were printed?”
“Just a couple hundred for Chuck’s book signing on Saturday,” Castiel answered. “I tried to call the printers, but there was no answer.”
“Of course there wasn’t,” Sam sighed as he ran a hand through his hair. “Just...put these in my office for now. I’ll go over to the printers and see if I can’t give Lucifer a kick in the ass.”
Castiel nodded and started to put the books back in the box. “Oh, and happy birthday Sam. Did the flowers survive the night okay?”
“The roses? They weren’t delivered this morning?” Sam asked.
“Last night,” Castiel answered. “I saw them outside your door, so I put them in your office before I went home last night. Someone must like you.”
“What do you mean?” Sam asked.
“Well, lavender roses usually mean that someone has a crush on you. And Orange means that they’re proud of you. So whoever got them for you must like you and the man that you are. Or they just liked the color combination,” Castiel answered.
“Thanks...I think,” Sam nodded and went back to his office to grab his keys.
He drove to the printers and followed the sound of loud rock music to the offices on the second floor. He turned off the stereo and dropped one of the books on Lucifer’s desk.
“Real mature Lucifer. What’d you do? Find some fan art online and switch out the real picture we sent over?” Sam crossed his arms over his chest.
“Like it’s that different from the actual cover photo,” Lucifer smirked.
“You know this is illegal right? What if these had made their way to the bookstore instead? Sandover could’ve been sued by the original artist,” Sam told him.
“Cas would’ve caught it, don’t get your panties in a twist,” Lucifer rolled his eyes. “I’ve already got Crowley printing out the books with the right covers. You’ll have them tomorrow afternoon you fuddy-duddy.”
“You are a monumental pain in my ass you know that?” Sam said.
“Who? Me?” Lucifer smiled innocently. “By the way, this is for you.”
He set a wrapped bottle on the table and Sam picked it up cautiously. “What is it?”
“Just open it would you,” Lucifer told him.
Sam tore off the paper and raised an eyebrow at the bottle of tequila. “If you find your new age hard to swallow just add some tequila.” He read off the note that was taped onto the bottle.
“Consider it a birthday gift from me and Crowley,” Lucifer added.
"Thanks," Sam smiled a bit. "...and it was a little funny. But please refrain from trying to get my place of work sued."
"Yeah yeah yeah," Lucifer waved his hand dismissively.
Sam turned the stereo back on, on his way out, and drove back to work.
"Happy birthday Sammy." Gabriel thrust a small wrapped package into his hand. "Don't open it till you're alone okay." He winked and walked off.
Sam shook his head as he walked back to his office and set the tequila and Gabriel's present on the coffee table. He turned his computer back on and pulled up the website from the café that was down the street to order his lunch.
He looked up at the knock on his office door and saw one of the delivery people from the café.
"Turkey BLT and medium Caeser salad with a strawberry banana smoothie?" The guy asked as he read off the receipt.
"Uh...yeah…" Sam stood up and went to meet him. "But I didn't, I haven't even ordered yet."
"Looks like someone bought you lunch," the younger man said.
Sam took the food and tipped the guy before he went back to his desk. He looked at the roses, and at his lunch. He wasn't sure if he should be flattered or weirded out. He was too hungry to care and he dug into his lunch. He picked up Gabriel's gift and unwrapped it.
From the man that brought you Casa Erotica, the novelization comes a new series set in the steamy world of office romances. Featuring Dan Hanson and Sean Blythe.
Sam grabbed his phone and called Gabriel.
"Did you write an erotic novel about me and Dean?" Sam asked when the line picked up.
"Don't flatter yourself, Sam. Sure Dan's got your build and maybe Sean's got Dean's boyish charm, but that is where all similarities end," Gabriel told him.
"You realize if Dean sees this he is going to massacre you," Sam replied.
"Guess it’s a good thing Deano’s home sick today,” Gabriel mused before he hung up.
Sam hid the manuscript in the bottom drawer of his file cabinet and locked it for extra measure. He’d get rid of it later...after he read it. He pulled up the highlights from the previous night’s football game and used it as background noise as he ate his lunch and finished going through his emails.
He was getting ready to throw the trash away when he saw a message typed out in the notes section of the receipt for his lunch.
Enjoy the rabbit food Rapunzel. Don’t work to hard, it is your birthday after all.
He smiled and knew exactly who’d gotten him the flowers and his lunch.
--------------------------------------------
Sam hoped it wasn’t too late as he rode the elevator to the third floor. He had a bag of takeout in one hand and a few movies in the other. He stepped off the elevator once it reached the third floor. He shifted the movies to his other hand as he knocked on the apartment marked 3F and smiled when Dean answered the door.
He was wearing an old Led Zeppelin t-shirt with a pair of sweats and a large thick comforter wrapped around him.
“Sam?” He asked hoarsely. “What are you doing here?”
“I wanted to say thank you for the flowers, and for lunch,” Sam answered.
He couldn’t tell if Dean blushed or if his face was red because it was sick.
“Although you didn’t have to do that,” Sam added.
Dean shrugged a little. “I wanted to do something nice for your first birthday together...I would’ve baked you a cake but vertigo’s a bitch.” He broke off with a cough. “I’m glad you liked the flowers though. I almost went with red but it seemed a bit to cliché, and I didn’t want you to think Becky got them for you.”
“Shockingly Becky was pretty tame today,” Sam told him. “I went by that deli you like and picked up some of their chicken noodle soup. I also rented us a few movies, I would’ve liked to use the gift certificate Adler gave me for a way too overpriced steak, but we can go when you’re feeling better.”
“Sam...you really don’t want to spend your birthday night with a sick person,” Dean started to protest.
“Well, considering it’s my birthday, you don’t really get a say of who I get to spend it with now do you?” Sam asked. “Now get your ass back on the couch.”
“Don’t make me laugh, my throat feels like sandpaper,” Dean told him.
Sam walked into the apartment and shut the door behind him while Dean tried to clean up around the couch. Sam got one of the movies set up and grabbed a bowl for the soup, and joined him on the couch.
“Happy birthday Sam,” Dean told him. “I promise next year will be a lot better.”
“You know? All things considered, this one turned out to be pretty good,” Sam replied as he got comfortable.
“You wouldn’t happen to know why Gabriel asked me to pick between Sean and Sheene would you?” Dean asked as he ate his soup.
“Nope, no idea,” Sam answered.
“Such a weird little man,” Dean mused as Sam wrapped an arm around him.

WORDS.4452ish.
°°°
You tried, you tried to stop the beating of your heart and your sudden urge of need and secret want. But you couldn't stop it. You couldn't prevent it but only go along with it. Being the youngest member of your pack was hard, but what was harder was to imprint on a bloodsucker. It was odd and weird, nobody could understand. An Omega who had imprinted on a Vampire! A kind that was one of your worst enemies for Centuries. They were unnatural, and going against your pack's fundamental laws but most importantly, Vampires didn't care for anything or anyone.
" Can we get ten packs of cigarettes, the blue and green one. " Natasha grinned at you, while Bucky Barnes, her boyfriend, was too occupied to kiss her neck.
She chuckled trying to push on his chest which only made the man pressed harder on her frame. They were unbelievable, you rolled your eyes, turning your body toward the cigarette shelves behind you. Unfortunately, you caught the sight of the third one. Steve leaned into a candy shelf, his arms close on his chest and a cap set low on his face. Both of your gaze locked for only a couple of seconds but it was already too much since he had entered into the small place your thought was on him, your imprintee. You quickly took what his Vampire friend asked for and added them to her already full bags.
" Would it be all? " You demanded, avoiding to look directly at the couple too exposed PDA. " Yes. " Natasha smiled, pushing Bucky's mouth away from her lips. She reached for her wallet and started to put the money on the counter.
Bucky bit his lips looking at her, making you cringed and wanted to puke. He then looked at you and give you a devilish smile after he finally recognized you. The weird werewolf who had a "crushed" on his best friend but they all knew that it was more than that.
" You should come to the party tonight. " Bucky smiled, lazily putting one arm around his girlfriend's shoulders. " Keep company to the poor old Steve over there. " He grinned, pointing at his friend with his head. You hold your breath, dropping your sight on Natasha's movement. " Bucky…" Steve warned him in a low growl, still standing behind, his hands into fists. " Just a thought. " The dark-haired male winked at you while Natasha put the final bill on the small table.
You only nodded and took the money in your hand, you started to tap on the shop's screen. Quick, they gathered their stuff in their bag, turned their back and started to leave. Steve was already out.
" Keep the change. " Natasha called being her shoulder with a bright smile before she left the shop.
" Keep the change " You mimicked her with an ugly grimace, rolling your eyes. They were insufferable and out of the place. You didn't know why they came to shop here, which was own and controlled by Werewolves their worst enemies. Actually, maybe deep down you knew why. Putting the money inside the register you remembered what Steve had told you after you had imprinted on him. You obviously had rejected him, but nonetheless, his words were always inside your head; " I will always be there for you, even though you don't want me to. " By the fact you were both immortals, and that the Vampire considered honor and promise two valuable things to keep hold to, you would be stuck with Steve Rogers as an imprintee for the rest of your life. You bite your lips closing the register down, and raising yourself from the tip of your feet, eyeing the little group putting their stuff in their luxurious car. Bucky was saying something making the two other laughed out loud. They were carefree and loved to ignore the fact that most of the population of the town feared and avoided them. But seeing them, in the parking lot of the shop was making them almost normal. Like mortals.
°°°
" Maybe, I will just stay for 10 minutes and then leave. " You informed your friend, Wanda. You put her burgundy top in front of your frame, watching your reflection inside the mirror you cocked your head to the side.
She only huffed behind you. You frowned your eyebrows and turned your head toward her.
" What is it? " You asked her, throwing the sweater at her feet on the bed and taking a dress from the huge pile on the floor. " You always say this, after seeing him. " She put aside her pen and looked at you through the mirror. " Maybe I will stop by his place? Maybe I will ask him to take a coffee with me? " She mimicked you while you rolled your eyes, and turned around to fully looked at her. " That is not true. " You argued, putting your hands on your hips. " Sure it is, you are always weaker after you saw him. And you never went through your plan to reach for him. But give it a couple of weeks and you will fully be back to your normal self, full of pure hatred against these bloodsuckers." She explained shrugging her shoulders. Her face lighted up, watching the piece of clothes you were holding in your hands. " Wow, you should keep this dress, it would look really good on you. " She smiled, before putting her pen back into her hand and started to draw again.
You froze, giving hard thinking about what she had told you. Were you always like that? Weaker and maybe needier after seeing Steve? You didn't know and you didn't think so, but your decision was now taken.
" Put some clothes on, Wanda. We are going to a party. " You announced to her under her knowing smile. " Yes finally! We are breaking some rules. " She threw away her paper and pen on her already packed floor. " But you are definitely putting this amazing dress on." She exclaimed raising herself from her bed and going straight into her bathroom.
Yes, you were. Pulling on the dress and breaking the rules. You didn't know what to expect or what you were exactly doing, maybe trying to be carefree for once and going with your instinct.
°°°
The huge house set in the woods was full but you were taken by surprise seeing civilized and well-behaved Vampires talking low among themselves, faint classical music playing on the background. They were no food, or drinks though, which was entirely understandable. You quickly lose sight of Wanda, not even 5 minutes after you walked inside the mansion. You swallowed looking at every piece of art inside the luxurious home. You knew they were rich but for Pete's sake, they had a Picasso hanging on the wall. You were about to analyze that closer but soon you find yourself a rough hand holding on your arm and being yanked into a small hallway. Your back hit a hard wall, you rise your eyes to look at Steve's clear blue one.
" What are you doing here, Y/N? " Steve hissed under his breath, he looked away from you to watched left then right, watching closely every single person in the room. " I thought I was invited. " You replied quietly, his hand still holding your arm down against the wall, the cold of his palm making your warm skin shivered. " Bucky shouldn't have said anything. " The blond-man rolled his eyes, before looking at you suspiciously. "I'm quite surprised but also confused. " He continued, his eyes inside yours.
That's when you felt it again, the tension between the two of you, the ground moving, the light was on him and only on him. Nothing else mattered you felt your heart beating more quickly, your eyes lost in his clear one. Nothing mattered but this, right now. You leaned your head toward him, your mouth being apart for only a few inches. You yearned from him, even though you were taught to hate him and avoided his kind. For some unlogical reason, you were desperate to finally have his lips on you.`
" I have to put you in a safer place before we do something we will both regret," Steve informed you, taking a step back from you. " I came with a friend. " You announced to him, frowning your eyebrows. Why does he think about regret and why he doesn't want to kiss you like you were longing too? " The Alpha girl? " He asked, looking through the crowd then your face. You nodded your head, deep inside your thought. " She will be fine. She's not in danger here, but on the contrary, you are. " He yanked on your arm again making you following him inside the dark hallway.
You walked fast behind, trying to keep the same pace as him. Steve pushed a door open and led you inside the room. It was a study where a large wooden desk stood in front of a window, a lot of bookshelves were set on the walls. You put your back against the closed door, watching Steve light some lamp on, a soft and warm dim light making you see the row and row of book, old and new. He walked toward the window, looked outside for a couple of minutes before closing the curtain in a sharp and quick movement. You let your eyes wondered on the small piece of furniture in the room, your instinct going back into ignoring mode.
" What are you really doing here? " Steve demanded, leaning his body on the mahogany desk. " I told you, I was invited. " You repeated, without looking at him but analyzing the different book titles. " No, what are you really doing here? " He asked again, closing his arms on his tone chest. " Is it because of your Heat? " The Vampire raised an eyebrow waiting for your answer. " What do you know about that? " You scoffed at him, shaking your head, still not looking at his perfect blue eyes. " I know, Omegas go through Heat once a month. I know that it's the time that a conception of a pup is more frequent. I also know that Omegas crave to have sex during their Heat imploring any Alpha to knot with them. " Steve explained with one shrug of his shoulders. " Whoa, since when did you become an Omega expert?" You mocked him, walking toward one bookshelf. With one finger you trace the letters of a book spine " Dracula ". " Since that day through the park, a pretty Shape-Shifter, imprints on me. " He announced to you, making his way toward your back.
You could feel his presence behind you, watching closely the books, you tried to ignore him, reminded you his crude words of earlier; " I have to put you in a safer place before we do something we will both regret ". You hold onto your breath, waiting for his next move.
" I tried to stop myself from thinking about you. It's been almost an all year, and I can stop my need to be near you every godman minutes. " Steve hissed behind you. You exhaled loudly, focusing your mind on the shelf. " I'm always wondering what are you doing, with who? What are you thinking about, is it me or did you found someone else? " He declared, pushing his chest against your back.
You swallowed hard, shivering while feeling his soft shirt against you naked shoulders. Steve put one hand on your hips, making you jolted with surprise, and pressed your backside against him.
" I wonder about who's making you laugh? Who's making you cry? " He pushed his lips against your ear, without controlling it you started to leaned into his touch. " Who's the bastard Alpha who knot you during your Heat? " He whispered his lips brushing your skin.
You closed your eyes putting your hand on his, stroking his long fingers with your nails.
" It really looked like you were the one who imprinted on me and not the other way around. " You remarked pushing your head into the crook of his neck. " I'm just happy that you are here. " Steve murmured. He put a soft kiss on your skin under your ear. " I would have wanted that it will be at a more appropriate time and place but I will make the most of it. " He continued, pushing his face against your neck.
You bit your lips, feeling very good. You should stop him and using your strength to shove hard across the room, but you couldn't. It was nice for a moment to just be in his arms and enjoyed the connection.
" Tell me, Y/N, who's the lucky bastard who took care of you during your Heat?" He asked, his head still on your neck. Steve descended his hands on your lower stomach stroking the soft fabric of your dress. " Who's the one I need to remove his head from his body because he had touched something that is mine? " He continued to whisper, a hint of angriness in his voice.
Possessively, he pushed your body once more into his chest and hummed into your neck, his hands closing around your stomach. You felt good and had forgotten almost anything the Leader of your pack had taught you. Until you felt his cold bite under your ear. You jolted with surprise, feeling his teeth brushing your skin. Fuming, you pushed his hand away from your body and turned on your heels. You glared at him, showing him your own canines under his puzzled but also amused face.
" What the hell are you doing?" You asked your voice husky but also angry by his behavior. " Here's the little wolf that was hiding. " Steve grinned, his blue eyes bright in the almost dark room. " I thought I made you yield to my killer charm. " " In your dream Rogers. " You mocked him, faintly smiling at him. " You will always be. " He declared winking.
You rolled your eyes, thinking that coming here was a bad idea after all. You tried to avoid his large frame walking toward the office’s door but his hand get a hold of your arm and firmly put you back at your place in front of him. You back hit hard the shelves behind you. Knocking off some books from their place. They fell hard on the ground. Furious you, snarled at him. Steve snarled back, pupils fully dilated, only darkness in his eyes.
" Let me go! " You cried out mad, you pushed on his chest but he wouldn't move. " No, I told you, it's not safe for you out there. " He pointed out, a faint smile on his face as he watched you trying to make him move. " I thought Werewolves were stronger than that. " Steve smirked.
You saw red, and without thinking you put all your inner force into one blow, your palms hitting his chest fast. Steve's body was thrown away across the room colliding hard into the wall in front of you. His body cracking and destroying the massive and strong bricks, he felt hard on the wooden floor. You only watched your mouth wide open. You never had done that before. Hearing loud voice and commotion behind the close door, you walked toward the window, pushed the curtain back. Without looking once at Steve who was grunting from pain or something else, you kicked the window open and jump through it. The cold air of Massachusetts blowing against your exposed skin, you started to run, never looking back at the house. Your head wondering about a thousand thoughts at once.
Everything your pack has been teaching you was to never trust a Vampire. And you've been staying true to their words and your learning. But tonight you have done the stupidest thing you could ever have done. Maybe you had caused a true act of war against the pack of Bloodsucker. Against your Imprintee.

Steve Rogers looked at the mess he had made, because of a foolishness remark he had said. When Erskine had bit him, he advised too cocky Steve to never " underestimate your enemies. " A piece of advice that could help him, on the battlefield, but also in love. Opening the door smoothly, Natasha quickly caught sight of him, his body on the ground of the room. A faint smoke made by the destruction of the wall was slowly covering every bit of furniture in the study.
" What in the ten Hell, have you done? " The red-haired woman, chuckled looking at him raising his body from the floor. " Not me, but the little 'Mega who don't appreciate a little bit of teasing. " He mumbled, dusting his clothes. His body was fine, but his shirt was completely good to throw in the garbage, and his emotions were a mess. " What have you done, Rogers? " She raised an eyebrow, a faint smile on her lips. " You, who usually are such gentlemen with the ladies. " Natasha reminded him, putting a hand on her hip, and leaning her body into the doorframe. " Mostly, teasing. " He replied, shrugging his shoulders. Natasha cocked her head to the side, waiting. " And also, I maybe have mocked her strength. "
Natasha shook her head and rolled her eyes to the ceiling. Faintly party noise was coming from the hallway, but nothing near them. Nobody was minding that Steve had almost shaken the house to the ground.
" It's rule number one, of every Werewolves books Steve. " Natasha exclaimed, disappointed by her friend's behavior. " Never mocked a wolf's muscles. " She shook her head, taking a big breath. " Now, what? " " What, what? " Steve asked, puzzled. " How, are you gonna fix this?" She simply demanded shrugging her shoulders, like it was the simplest thing of the world. " I mean you are into this filthy animal of girl and you just humiliated her and she smacked you so. " Natasha declared, pursing her lips. " How are you gonna win her over? "
Steve licked his lips and put his hands on his hips, thinking about how to settle all of this. He wanted to bury the hatchet between the two of you, and maybe starting something meaningful with you. He really wanted that. But apparently, the odds were against you both. His friend was about to turn around but stop before crossing the threshold of the door.
" Oh, and by the way, Rumlow is here. He was sent by Pierce who had heard about our little wolf crushed on you. " Natasha announced, wincing a little bit. "I think they are scared. " She added taking a step into the hallway. " I know he's here. But they are scared about what? " Steve frowned. He didn't like any of her information. " A truce between us, and your girlfriend little pack. You know how powerful we could be. And with her Omega DNA, she would be pregnant with your offspring within a minute, you know what werewolves and vampire babies could do? " She asked him, her face dead serious and her body stiff.
Steve could feel her emotions changing and was surprised to see that his dear friend Natasha was scared. He shook his head.
" Me neither, Steve. So please, be careful. " Was her final words before leaving him, in his deep reflection.
°°°
You heard a loud knock on your bedroom window, leaving your bathroom you stopped dead in your tracks seeing the pale face of the last man you wanted to see tonight. Steve waved at you, his face pressed against the glass. You were debating between ignoring him or letting him in. But it took you only a few seconds before walking toward the wall and opening the window with one swift motion.
" What do you want?" You greeted him, already angry. You closed your arms on your chest and backed away a little bit to make room for him to come in. " Well, hello to you too sweetheart. " Steve smirked, pushing long and strong legs inside your bedroom. " Don't worry I'm ok, and my back is already healing, so thanks to my amazing DNA for that. " He explained to you, his tone a little bit mocking your previous encounter from earlier this evening. " I'm sorry about that. I just don't like to be underestimated. " You bite your lips, dropping your gaze on the purple carpet of the room. " I understand, and I'm sorry if I pushed you too hard. " He only replied, raising his body from the edge of the window and stood firmly on the floor.
You take another step away, rising your head and looked at him warily. It was the first time he broke the invisible boundaries you have created since your imprinted on him. Something was wrong.
" Why are you here? Is it Wanda? " You inquired, nervous and afraid to hear his answer. " No, no don't worry your little Alpha friend can fight her own battles, trust me." Steve chuckled under his breath and shook his head. " What do you mean?" You asked him, more confused than before. " She's fine, Y/N, however, you are not. " He explained to you, his voice quiet inside your room.
You frowned your eyes, not really understanding what he meant. Maybe he was here to ridicule you even more or worse, maybe he was planning to attack your pack, starting with you before going to kill Sam, the Leader.
" Steve, I think you should go. " You warned him, unclosing your arms from your body, and already taking a defensive stand. " And I think you should listen to me. " He replied, looking at your disbelief state across your face. " I won't attack you if it's what you think but my enemies will." " My pack will never turn their back against me, even though I fell for you. " You declared, your voice a little bit louder, confidence taking a hold of you. " I'm not talking about your family, but about Pierce, Alexander Pierce. " Steve announced to you taking a step toward you. He licked his lips, his blue eyes searching for a once of trust inside your gaze. " He's my enemy, and soon he will be yours. He heard about you imprinted on me and apparently he's shitting himself right now. " " Why? " You demanded confused, forgetting about your little idea of battle, you sat on the edge of your bed and crossed on legs under yourself. " I didn't do anything. " " Not yet, but if… " Steve swallowed his anxiousness and sat next to you, leaving a little space between your two bodies. " With we get along and start what the hell imprintees are doing, Pierce is scared of a truce between our two Clans and what consequence are relationship would do." " What do you mean? " You shook your head and got up from the bed. You were still drawn by him, and being this close to his body with a bed being involve was not what you needed right now. So, you took one step, still puzzled by Steve's strange revelations. " I mean, a baby Y/N. That's what he's afraid of. "
You sharply turned on your heels and looked at him, biting your lips from laughing.
" It's totally impossible and unlikely! " You cried out, skeptic. " You are dead inside! " You pointed at his tone chest, still yelling from surprise. " And you are an Omega, who perpetually go into Heat and practically had a 100% chance to conceive every time you had sex with someone. " He shouted out, wanting to make you see his point. " Not every time! " You snorted rolling your eyes and putting your fist on your hips. " And, sorry if I repeat myself but you are dead Steve! " You cried out once again, but quickly calm yourself thinking about Sam living in the apartment next door. Steve rose from the bed and dropped his gaze on the floor. " It's rare but it had already happened that, Vampire having offspring with Mortals. It's very rare but it's not implausible." He quietly explained to you.
You turned your head from him, understanding what he implied behind his words.
" So, what you say is that if it can happen between a Vampire and a Mortal, a Vampire and an Omega have more potential to have a baby as well? " You started to shake, your brain going numb.
You could avoid Steve, but not indefinitely. You knew like tonight that the longing would be too painful, especially during a hurtful Heat and you will crawl and beg for him to take you. Nothing will ever be easy, especially if this Alex Pierce was a constant danger for the two or three of you. You heard him walked slowly toward you and felt his arms embracing you, pressing the side of your face against his chest. He put his head above yours and started to rock both of your bodies calmly.
" It's going to be ok. " Steve reassured you, pressing a soft kiss on your head. " How? " You muttered, your lips brushing the cotton of his fresh shirt. " I don't know, but I promise you Y/N. " He started to tell you, stroking your back with one hand the other reaching for your cheek. He tilted your head to make you look at him. " I promise you that if anything happened I will always be there to protect you. " He faintly smiles before pressing a chaste kiss on your lips. His mouth was smooth and sweet against yours. You brushed your nose with his and let a delightful sigh escape your lips. Steve backed away a little from you, his thumb stroking your skin. " Promise me that at your next Heat you will come to me to take care of you. " " What if I get pregnant? " You murmured, concerned and dread feeling your stomach. " Then I will protect the both of you. " He smiled, pushing once again his lips on yours. " Promise me, Y/N that I will be the one you will come to." He demanded you, his lips brushing your mouth. " I promise. " You replied, in a whisper. " Good. " Steve smiled.
He kissed you once again more deeply, his lips sliding against yours. You could feel the flutter of his long eyelashes against your cheek. But before you could take a good hold of him, Steve broke away from your body. He pressed a faint and quick kiss on your cheek.
" Until next time. " He murmured against your ear, before walking toward the open windows.
Without a final look, he jumped through the open space. You heard him started to run inside the woods of your clan, and soon enough he was gone. Taking with him every little resolution you had to stay away from him.

Synopsis: When Riley Brooks takes a new job as a nanny for the affluent Rhys family in New York’s Upper East Side, she assumes she’s just going to care for the children of the couple who hired her. But instead of just school pick-ups and afternoon snacks, she also finds herself spending time with Liam, the handsome divorced dad. Can Riley control her feelings for Liam while still performing the job she was hired for?
All characters are the property of Pixelberry Studios. Thanks for allowing me to borrow them.
Chapter Summary: Riley and Liam become “official,” but a shocking revelation threatens to destroy their relationship.
I stand in the kitchen of Liam’s penthouse, going over my plans for today. It’s only been a day since the divorce became final, but it feels like things are starting to look up. Liam and Madeleine worked out a schedule to take the kids every other week. This week is Madeleine’s week. She dropped them off at Liam’s house this morning before heading to work. I showed up for my shift shortly after. The schedule is set up for me to take Charlotte to school, spend my day with Philip, and then she picks them up at 5:30 p.m. Everyone agreed this would be the smoothest transition for the kids.
As I put the final touches on my itinerary, my mind wanders to last night with Liam. I’ve been replaying it over and over again in my mind all morning. His touch. His passion. How good our bodies felt together. I almost orgasm just thinking about it. I hear Liam’s footsteps approaching and turn to find him entering the kitchen. He wraps his arms around my waist and whispers into my hair. “You busy tomorrow night?”
“Oh, you know. The usual. Comfy pants. Junk food. Real Housewives.”
He smirks. “Sounds good. But what if I can offer you good food, good company, and really good sex?”
I blush. Is it hot in here? Or is it just him? “I’m listening.”
“Let me take you out on a date. I’ll wine you, dine you…” he grins seductively. “...well, you know the rest.”
I wrap my arms around his neck, pulling him down to meet my lips. “You had me at good food.”
He groans and grabs my ass, lifting me up, and sets me on the kitchen island. His hands slip under my blouse, his fingers tracing up my sides, and toying with the lace of my bra. I tug on his tie and take his bottom lip in my teeth. “Where are you planning on taking me, Mr. Rhys? So I know what to wear tonight.”
“Well, if all goes as planned, you won’t be wearing anything. But if you must know, I’m taking you to Masa, so dress accordingly.”
My eyes widen. Masa is one of the most exclusive restaurants in the city. It’s also considered one of the most expensive restaurants in the world. One meal will set you back around $500-$600 and the waitlist for reservations is at least three weeks out. I wonder to myself how he was able to score a table at a place like that, but then I remember his family pretty much owns the city. He notices my expression and smiles.
“Don’t give me that look. You’re worth it and I want to spoil you. Let me have this.”
“Fine,” I sigh. “But just this once. You don’t need to spend that much money on me. We could hit up the drive-thru at McDonald's and I’d be happy.”
“I know. That’s what I like about you. Now, get your sexy ass upstairs and get my kids up. I’ll pick you up at your place at 8 p.m. tomorrow.” He steals one more kiss before helping me down off the island. I make my way upstairs and get the kids ready for the day. Once they’re both dressed and fed, we head off to school.
After dropping off Charlotte, Philip and I hit up the “T.Rex: The Ultimate Predator” exhibit at the Museum of Natural History. The place is buzzing with groups of school children chaperoned by adults. I keep Philip close to me as we make our way through the crowd. As we walk by a 12-foot-tall skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus rex, he tugs on my hand to get my attention.
“Riley? Do you think he comes to life at night?”
“What?”
“T-Rex. Does he come to life and play fetch?”
I give him a confused look. “He’s extinct, buddy. And has been for about about 65 million years.”
He looks back at me and gruffs in annoyance. “In Night at the Museum, he comes alive and plays fetch with Larry. He also drinks from the fountain.”
Whoops. Guess I didn’t see that movie. Feeling like a total dumbass, I grab Philip’s hand and guide him to the next exhibit.
After our daily ice cream stop, we pick up Charlotte from school. She tells me about an upcoming field trip her class is having and hands me a permission slip looking for chaperones. I wonder if nannies can even chaperone school field trips. When we get back to the penthouse, I set the kids up in the playroom with art supplies and watch them paint. Philip paints images of dinosaurs and Charlotte paints a dog. My mind wanders to my date with their father tomorrow night and the butterflies in my stomach start fluttering up a storm. Holy shit. I need to find something to wear. I fish my phone out of my tote bag and give Hana a call. She picks up on the second ring.
“Ohmygods, Hana. I need your help. Liam is taking me to Masa tomorrow night and I have no idea what to wear. What’s the dress code like for a place like that? Is it black tie? Can I wear my sponsorship dinner dress again?”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa. Calm down. What time is he picking you up?”
“8 p.m.”
She chuckles. “Okay, we can work with that. Meet me at Carmina at 6 p.m. tonight and I’ll help you pick something out that will blow his mind.”
“You’re a lifesaver, girl. What would I do without you?”
“Well, your rent would be much higher, that’s for sure,” she says with a laugh.
We say our goodbyes and hang up, and I return to the kids. When Madeleine arrives home a few hours later, I bid farewell and hail a cab to Carmina. I pull up outside the store and see Hana and Meghan leaning outside the store, locked in a loving embrace. My heart bursts at the sight of my best friend finally finding her happily ever after. Hana notices me approaching and smiles.
“You ready to find a gown that will make this guy fall in love with you?” she asks.
“Well, I wouldn’t go that far, but I want to find something that will make him want to skip dinner altogether.” She rolls her eyes and turns to Meghan and the two share a knowing look. “Okay, Lovebirds,” I laugh. “Let’s go inside and find me a dress.”
The three of us enter the boutique and began browsing the racks. While Hana continues to search for a dress, Meghan approaches with a few draped over her arm and ushers me to an open dressing room. As I begin to disrobe, I hear her speak from the other side of the door.
“Hey, Riley? What are Hana’s parents like?”
I stop dead in my tracks. Oh shit. “Uh...they’re ...they’re interesting.”
She sighs. “You don’t have to sugar coat it for me. She told me they don’t know she’s gay. It’s just that she wants me to meet them tomorrow night and I think she wants to tell them about us. I want to know what I’m walking into.”
Half-dressed, I open the door and move toward her. “Honestly, they’re kind of overbearing. They’ve been trying to set her up with this guy for the better part of a year. She’s told them numerous times that she’s not interested, but they keep pushing this narrative that she needs to be a wife and a mother to be happy. Especially her mom. I think she’s afraid that Hana’s going to die an old maid, so she’s trying to find her a husband before it’s too late. It’s not an excuse, but I wonder if she thinks Hana isn’t capable of finding happiness on her own.”
Meghan nods. “I remember how it was for me when I came out to my family. I guess I’m just wondering how they’re going to react. I’m glad Hana has someone like you to support her.” She leans in and gives me a bone-crushing hug then walks out of the dressing room to find her girlfriend.
After trying on half a dozen dresses, I finally decide on a sexy sequined charcoal gray number with a plunging neckline. Liam is going to lose his shit when he sees me in this. And the best part; it’s on sale, so if it gets “damaged” at the end of the evening, at least I’m not out that much money.
***
It’s just before 8 p.m. Friday night when I hear a knock on my apartment door. I take a deep breath to calm my nerves and make my way to the door. He stands on the other side, looking absolutely breathtaking in a dark suit. His blue eyes sparkle as they travel the length of my body. So glad I went with this dress.
“You look beautiful,” he says in a low voice.
“So do you.”
He takes my hand in his and leads me downstairs to the limo. He opens the door for me, but stops me before I enter, pulling my hand to his mouth and kissing the back of it. I feel my cheeks heat. His eyes study me, taking in every detail of my face. Suddenly, he looks away and clears his throat while adjusting himself. “We should go. We don’t want to miss our reservation.”
I smirk and climb into the limo. He climbs in behind me, and once we’re driving, I find myself trying not to stare at him. He notices me watching him and gives me a wink as he takes my hand in his and sets it on his thigh.
Twenty agonizing minutes and one steamy make-out session later, we arrive at the restaurant. The maître d' greets Liam like they’re old friends and the hostess shows us to our table. The tables are lit by single candles and soft music fills the air. A bottle of champagne sits in a bucket next to our table. Liam grabs it and pops the cork, pouring two glasses.
“Wow...this is fancy,” I say, sipping my champagne.
“I’m glad you like it.”
I look around, noticing servers taking orders from the other tables. “Where are our menus? What’s good here?”
Liam smiles. “Actually, there are no menus to order from. Only chef-selected meals prepared by Chef Masa Takayama himself.”
I nearly spit out my champagne. Oh, gods. This is one of those restaurants. I suddenly feel extremely uncomfortable. Liam notices me shifting in my seat and reaches across the table, placing his hand on top of mine.
“Hey. It’s okay. I know this seems like a lot, but you’re important to me and I want to show you that.”
“You didn’t have to bring me to a place like this though. I’d be happy at Applebee’s.”
He fake scoffs. “Applebee’s? Only peasants eat that crap.” I roll my eyes and he brings my hand to his lips, placing a kiss on it. “I’m kidding. If you’re really that uncomfortable here, I’ll take you wherever you want to go. Just say the word.”
I smile. This man is willing to give up his exclusive reservation for me. How did I get so lucky? “No, it’s okay. We can stay here. I already got dressed up. It would be a shame for it to go to waste.”
The reflection of the candlelight dances across his face and he watches me intently as I sip my champagne. He leans in and whispers in my ear. “What do you say we order our food to go and take this back to my place?”
We stumble into the penthouse, kissing and running our hands along each other’s bodies when a voice interrupts us.
“Is this what you do when you’re supposed to be watching my kids?” I turn around to see Madeleine standing in the kitchen, a look of pure rage on her face.
Liam steps away from me and addresses her, his tone laced with anger. “What are you doing here? And where are Philip and Charlotte?”
“They’re with Rashad, and don’t worry about what I’m doing here. What are you doing? The nanny? Really, Liam?”
“At least it wasn’t with one of my co-workers. While I was still married.”
“No, just the woman entrusted to look after our children,” she sneers.
Awkwardly, I make my way toward the door. “I...I think I’m gonna go.”
“I don’t think so, bitch!” Madelene snaps. “I don’t know who you think you are, but you will not jeopardize my children’s safety for a fucking payday.”
“Excuse me? What the hell are you talking about?”
Madeleine snorts. “Don’t play dumb. It’s unbecoming.” She retrieves a magazine from her purse and slams it down with force on the coffee table. “This,” she says. Liam’s eyes go wide. I look down at the magazine and feel the color drain from my face. No, please no.
Ohmygods, this is my worst nightmare. How could this happen? I look at Liam and his face falls. “Riley? What is this?”
“What do you think it is?” Madeleine says. “She sold us out to the fucking tabloids.”
“What? No! I-I swear… I had nothing to do with this.” I turn back to Liam. He continues to stare at the magazine, his face void of any emotion. “Liam? Liam, listen to me. I don’t know how this got out, but I didn’t leak this. I swear on everything we have.”
Madeleine laughs dryly. “You expect me to believe that? You were the only person besides our families who knew about this. Don’t think I don’t know about your little obsession with these trash rags. You left one laying on the kitchen table a few weeks ago. And Mara said she buys them for you every week. What? Did you think you could just sell details of our private lives to the tabloids, and then fuck my ex-husband and everything would be cool? How much did they pay you? I hope it was worth it.”
My voice shakes. “Ma-Madeleine. I swear. I didn’t leak this.” A lone tear escapes and rolls down my cheek. “Liam, please. You have to believe me. I would never do this to you. To Philip and Charlotte. I care about them. I would never put them in danger.” He continues to stare at the magazine, not speaking or making eye contact with me.
“I want you out. Turn in your keycard. You are officially relieved of your duties.”
“Madeleine, please...”
“I don’t want to hear it. You’re fired. You’re lucky we don’t take your ass to court and sue you for publishing private facts about our family. And you are to have no contact with my children or I will have you arrested for stalking.”
Mara appears to escort me out and I sob loudly, losing all control. I retrieve my keycard from my purse and hand it to her. She frowns and places her hand on my arm, guiding me to the elevator. The ride down to the lobby is quiet except for my cries. I wonder why Liam didn’t come to my rescue. Does he actually believe that I leaked the story to the press? It’s hard to tell when he just stood there and said nothing as Madeleine ripped me a new one.
“I’m so sorry, Miss Brooks,” Mara says as she escorts me out of the lobby and into the street. She stands guard until an Uber arrives to take me home.
I get into the car and break down. The tears stream down my face as I lean my head against the glass, watching the penthouse disappear into the distance. Before tonight, I had a great job and a man that I could possibly see myself falling in love with.
Now, I have neither.

Thank you for answer me so well and again for that drawing !! (ノ*0*)ノ So know I see, I wanna ask finally! NSFW headcanons of Drake, Apoo and Hawkins (do what you want👌) with a s/o male! Good luck too with all the work !! ❤️
FINALLY managed to finish this, I really hope this is what you wanted and that you like it 💜 💜 💜
And as always, warning for FILTH under the cut~
Dirty headcanon with a male!s/o
X Drake
it may not come as a suprise, but being with a male partner actually boosts his confidence level enormously. and he isn’t gonna pass out from seeing you naked either!
mainly because you and him are… pretty much the same, speaking from a physical aspect. So when his eyes roam over your body the blush on his cheek is actually symbolizing desire and admiration rather than embarrassment and shame
Drake likes to claim that he is ‘a power top’ who wouldn’t ever consider himself to be on the bottom. He is quite the dominant partner, and the idea of being submissive does not sit well with him (but that doesn’t mean that it’s impossible to convince him otherwise *wink wink)
while he is indeed a bit more careful with female partners during the whole foreplay aspect, he does not mind getting rough with you. After all, you’re more like him so you could probably take more teasing and action, right?
now, he is… not very good at sucking dick. At all. Drake has a rather easily triggered gag-reflex, so sexy times might easily turn into puky times if he takes you in a little… too deep
…but as far as getting sucked goes, he is ecstasic. Drake’s a man who loves to watch you get your knees dirty, and is not afraid of slipping you a teasing comment every now and then when you get up and he sees your now deeper colored shin. Beautiful.
but have I mentioned how vital it is to have a few bottles of lube ready for when he decides to 'go in’? Because when he reached that point of no return and no holding back then you better believe it’ll be just that- Dinoman is going to shove himself into you so quick you won’t even noticed. So unless you’re into pain, make sure you’re proper oiled!
from a viewer’s perspective, sex with Drake looks… a little weird. Because his large body is mostly covering yours, basically pressing you into the matress, while he keeps on pounding like there is no tomorrow. Sometimes it might even look like he is fucking a sex doll because you CAN’T REALLY MOVE UNDERNEATH HIM
his orgasms are always quite intense and, well, massive. Good if you like creampieng but if you don’t then I’d suggest you tell him to pull out a little bit earlier
on rare occasions he might even remain buried inside of you after sex and just… fall asleep like that. There is something about remaining one with you that gives him a feeling of serenity. If you’re okay with it, that is!
Apoo
regardless if you’re a man, a woman, or something else- Apoo is and will always be a little shit huge tease in bed and that never changes
preparations and foreplay are far more important to him than the real thing (aka going inside). In fact, he can very well enjoy a steamy session that doesn’t include any sort of direct ‘intercourse’!
a thing he likes quite much before any touching and making out begins though is a good ol’ stripshow put on by you. Make sure to be sultry and seductive! Get him going! ….he’ll play his body parts for you to add the right ‘mood music’ too!
and once naked, we move on to his next absolute favorite thing ever:
who’s dick is bigger competitions. Every. Time. Does the size of your cock change? No. So does he need to check everytime? Also no. But is it fun? To Apoo, yes
and yes, occasionaly he also seems to be the kind of guy that loves to engage in some pre-intercourse 'swordfighting’ if you know what I mean (we’re talking the more silly, less sexual variant. Like literally hitting your dick with his. It makes funny sounds. APPRECIATE IT.)
he’s a real master when it comes to giving oral, but of course not without making a dumb comment: „I’ll play you like a flute, apapapa!“, „Time for me to blow your little blowpipe!“ (it’s quite embarrassing, really…)
and he uses his teeth too while going down, mostly because the sounds it makes when he touches your cock with his piano teeth are HILARIOUS, it’s like your own little song
on the other hand, when it comes to receiving oral- he’s a bit picky. And sometimes even a bit of a critic, since he does not appreciate the feeling of not being in control and you doing with his dick as you please
I hope you have some stamina in you because Apoo can and will go for multiple rounds. Sometimes this might even lead to you or him being overstimulated and growing extremely sensitive, but then again that is a new kind of excitement he also thoroughly enjoys
once everything is finished though Apoo will almost always cling to you afterwards, his arms entrapping you like a prison made out of…. well, very long and lanky arms
Hawkins
secretly(?) the kinkiest out of all three
…and an absolute master of the art of 'hidden’ teasing. He knows exactly what he’s doing to get you turned on, even if it may not seem so!
like his foot suddenly rubbing against your crotch? Uhm no he has no memory of that didn’t you see him read a book? That must have been an accident or maybe your mind is simply toying with you again…
it’s almost somewhat funny how Hawkins always claims that he never initiates sexy times and that you are the horny one, when it’s actually the other way around but never say that to him or he will give you the silent treatment for a few days as revenge
as far as foreplay goes, he tends to be rather lazy and often acts as if you’re asking the impossible of him. Hawkins sometimes pretends to be quite the diva, but the main reason for that is because he knows that it will get you going
also this man occasionally wears lingerie and loves to hint at it without immediately showing you, which serves as another way for him to tease you
one thing important to note is that Hawkins can be really into BDSM depending on his mood- in fact there are days where he’ll refuse to get it on unless you pull out the cuffs, and then there are some where he can easily do without it
however if there is ever one thing he is not willing to do, then it’s being degrading. He has no problem with playfully looking down on you that’s true, but taking it that far just makes you look absolutely pathetic and causes him to lose any sexual interest and excitement rather quickly. The same goes the other way as well, by the way!
Hawkins also tends to get bored rather easily with repeating the same thing over and over again… how about sprinkling in a little something to spice things up some more? He is definitely open for suggestions…
and although submissive most of the times, there are quite many occasions where Hawkins is not afraid of taking over the reigns and actually being a top. The magician considers himself a 'switch’ who will not do the same old thing two nights in a row, so versatility in the bedroom is a guarantee!

Koi No Yokan
Fandom: Ikemen Vampire
Characters: Dazai Osamu x MC
Genre: kinda fluffy, a sprinkle of angst and a dash of suggestiveness
Word Count: 2.642
Author's note: I'm back with the second part of Dazai-needs-more-content frenzy. I am aware that the song I used was released after WW2 but it fitted so please go along with it. There’ll be a third part of this story soon enough. Hint: it’ll be very a little steamy. I hope you enjoy this one! First part here.
Bringing the kuchinashi flower closer she inhaled its sweet aroma and she beamed with affection. As she sighed happily in remembrance of last night’s tryst, she noticed a tall lean figure treading the mansion's grounds and softly pulled the curtain to get a clearer view.
As if sensing her gaze on his back the man turned to look up towards her window and smiling widely when her curious eyes locked with his. The man that has beguiled her heart was standing in the garden below, his bright gold irises shining like the sun and his smile matching the gleam of the silver moon.
She felt her heart racing inside her chest but she didn't shy away from the window, instead, she lifted the shaky hand that held onto the flower and waved at him. His smile turned into a mischievous smirk as he waved back and pointed at what she gathered was her garment. She sent him a puzzled look before peering down to inspect her nightgown.
She was a pleasure to behold, bathed in warm daylight and skin aglow. What she hadn't discovered was that the loose robe that barely clung on her shoulders had become almost transparent from the sunlight, revealing her delicate physic to his gilded gaze that stayed fix on her, feasting at the sight.
Her cheeks flushed in an instant, gasping as she pulled the curtain and hurried to hide deeper in her chamber, making the writer giggle fondly.
"What an enticing little lady. Should I not be careful I’ll find myself desiring her too much* " he thought, taking a deep breath to regain his composure. As entertaining her reaction might have been, Dazai couldn't bring himself to dispel the image of her beautiful figure emitting warmth and eroticism, but he knew all too well that it was too early in the morning for thoughts of impure nature.
She, on the other hand, was a flustered mess as she tried to get ready for the day. But although the incident had left her embarrassed at her own carelessness, the memory of his scorching eyes caressing her body through her almost translucent gown sent shivers down her spine. She wished to decipher him and indulge him in all the love and desire he has awoken in her and all she needed was an opportunity.
An idea began to unravel as she was chatting with Sebastian whilst they cleaned the dishes of the day’s lunch. He told her of a new Japanese restaurant opening in a few days* in the center of the town and they were rumored to have the best tofu in Paris.
“That’s it!” she exclaimed, leaving her co-worker dumbfounded.
She asked for more information about the restaurant and what would the chances be to find a kimono in this era. Sebastian advised her to seek the help of Le Comte who -of course- was more than happy to help her. He sent her to the greatest tailor in town and made sure the exquisite garment would be ready in time for her rendezvous. She beamed with happiness and thanked the Count profoundly for his kind help, promising him to work even harder to repay him for his generosity. She completed her well-orchestrated plan by leaving an invitation on Dazai’s desk in a small, perfumed envelope.
After returning from his stroll, Dazai walked straight to his room to find the book he left unfinished a few days ago, planning to read it in the garden. As he entered his room he immediately noticed the small envelope on his desk. A pleasant feeling of surprise flowed in his body as he opened the letter and read about the girl’s invitation for dinner, just the two of them. He brought the delicate paper closer to him and closed his eyes as he breathed in the fragrance that she used to perfume it, the same one she used to scent her skin. The sweet essence engulfed him and recollections of her flooded his mind, making a pocket of air catch at his throat. He let out a trembling sigh and opened his eyes that were alight with a dangerous gleam, his pupils dilated and black with lust. “Trying to tempt me, naughty girl?” he thought grinning slyly.
He took a few deep breaths to resuscitate his poise and strode out of his room, seeking her to accept the invitation in person.
It didn’t take long to find her. He heard humming in the kitchen and found her cooking tonight's dinner beaming with delight. It was a tune he could almost recognize, he was certain he once heard the foreign soldiers of the Second World War sing to songs similar to this one. She remained unaware of his presence as she began to sing softly:
"Strangers in the night, exchanging glances,
Wondering in the night, what were the chances
We'd be sharing love before the night was through?
Something in your eyes was so inviting,
Something in your smile was so exciting,
Something in my heart told me I must have you
Strangers in the night, two lonely people, we were strangers in the night..."
Her voice resounded in the small kitchen, sweet and captivating. Was he the reason she was so happy? And if so, was it his mask of deception that had the claim to the girl's euphoria or was it the one of truth that lies beneath the other? His focus returned back to the girl and her blissful voice, feelings of affection beginning to stir inside his chest.
He smiled and sauntered without a sound towards her. After making sure she wouldn’t hurt herself if he surprised her, he slithered an arm around her waist and pressed their bodies together. Smirking deviously at the sound of her startled exclamation he leaned next to her ear, drawing her hair out of the way with his free hand.
“Invitation accepted little one. I must admit...I am eagerly looking forward to it” he whispered in an alluring, low voice right next to her ear, coaxing a momentary quiver from her body. He left a lingering kiss on the side of the neck before releasing her from his grasp and headed for the garden.
Her eyelashes fluttered at the sensation of his lips pressed on her skin, his kiss -over before it began- had left her craving more. She chuckled to herself and prayed for nights to pass quickly and that everything would go as planned.
~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~
When the day arrived she could no longer hide her excitement. The skip in her step was so apparent that the rest of the residents began to tease her relentlessly but she didn’t mind, all she cared for was him. When she bathed and perfumed her body, when she wore her tailor-made kimono and styled her hair, when she applied rouge on her lips and cheeks, all she thought about was him.
Dazai stood to wait for her outside the newly opened restaurant. He was looking ethereal and statuesque in his formal Taisho-style kimono, the dark blue hue of the garment contrasting with the paleness of his skin, causing him to stand out from the crowd all the more. She had suggested they meet there instead of leaving the mansion together, hoping to pleasantly surprise him. And she did.
When she came into view he was completely astounded. She was like a painting that came to life, with rosy lips smiling ever so sweetly, eyes gleaming like twinkling stars, looking exquisitely beautiful in the light pink kimono that fitted her like a glove. He could have sworn he forgot how to breathe for a moment’s time until her melodic voice reached his ears. He mapped every detail with his eyes, the flush on her cheeks, the coy smile as she greeted him, her own gaze monopolized by him as well as the heaving of her bosom that betrayed her excitement. He could taste her on the end of his tongue and the sensation of her body palpitated on his fingertips, his yearning for her increasing in every heartbeat. “She is utterly tantalizing” he thought before he snapped himself out of his daze to return her greeting.
“It appears I’ll be the most envied man in Paris tonight, for I’m escorting the most ravishing damsel in the land” he said with an alluring smile. He took her hand to place a chivalrous kiss on the back of it, leaving her staring in his eyes starstruck with her mouth slightly open.
She cleared her throat and replied. “I believe the ladies will be equally resentful this evening. Who wouldn’t wish she was accompanied by such a handsome and courteous gentleman? I am the luckiest girl in France”. He only responded with a wink, eliciting a bashful giggle from his date, before ushering her gently in the restaurant.
The night passed with the two of them talking about a myriad of different subjects whilst enjoying the familiar cuisine. They discussed how life was different in the future and how Japan had come to change in the passage of time, about nature and society and for their common love of art and literature.
“I promise when we get back to the mansion I’ll show you my favorite book of poems” she told him.
“Are you so eager to go back?” he asked.
“N-no...quite the contrary” she replied shyly before looking away.
“Then will you recite those poems to me? I’ve come to enjoy listening to your soft voice a great deal lately. You can visit me in my room if you’d like, it has excellent...accoustics” he said with a suggestive smile playing on his lips.
She could only nod, being too flustered to manage to utter a single word.
He kept listening to her jolly voice chattering about all the things she found beautiful in this “bleak world” as he often described it, a sincere smile tugging at his lips all the while. It was one of the few times in his life that he didn’t try to fool anyone with fabricated smiles and farcical antics in order to entertain. She was like an opened book that displayed all feelings candidly and openly and it prompted him to let himself be vulnerable and honest likewise. He had no reason to lie to her. She made him feel safe to be defenseless and even regard himself as cherished and understood. “Is this why I’m so drawn to you, little bird?”, he didn’t dare share that thought with her, but it managed to fill him with warmth nonetheless.
When they left their restaurant in a jubilant mood they decided to continue with a stroll in the City of Lights, not wanting their date to end so soon.
They made an odd couple, two foreigners with attire completely in contrast with what the fashion of the era dictated but they couldn’t be bothered. All that mattered to them, were their moments by the Seine. They could walk for hours in the streets of Paris as long as they were together, talking, laughing and smiling at one another as if they were the only people left on Earth.
They stood beside the riverbanks to admire the moon reflected on the surface of the dark waters. She had kept babbling about a book that she loved recently until she noticed that he hadn’t talked for a while. She turned to find his eyes solemn and fixed on the body of water that started to become more and more akin to a bottomless abyss.
A heaviness built up in her chest as she looked at him watching the ripples in the river and she couldn’t help but feel as if he was miles away again. She took his hands and squeezed it tightly, earning back his focus back. He tried to feign a smile for her, but she had become keen enough to notice the desolation that drowned itself in his pools of gold.
Her crestfallen expression, as well as the anguish that brimmed in her eyes, ripped the forged smile from his face. He left himself to be immersed in the sorrow that haunted him all his life, erasing momentarily the existence of her light. He squeezed her small hand to offer her comfort, but in her eyes melancholy persisted.
“Dazai...” he felt a twinge in his chest when he heard the sadness dripping from her voice as spoke his name.
“I beg of you, talk to me. I’ll lend you my shoulder if you’ll lend me your burden. Please...” she pleaded.
“Just don’t let yourself be lost again”. She kept that thought to herself.
He looked at her for a few seconds before turning his gaze back to the dark river.
“All my life, I felt disassociated from human beings. I dare say I almost felt harrowing fear snake it’s way in my heart in the mere thought of them. I was a perfect stranger even amongst my own family and keen. The only reconciliation I could manage was a plastered smile that remained resiliently on my lips and pretense of being a jester in an attempt not to be hated by them. Of course, all this charade was not without its toll. All of this I managed for most of my life with agonizing efforts from within ” he said with a face ruled by disdain. His eyes were clouded over by the shadows of his past, the colors around him becoming dark and grey like ink spilled on paper.
“I never felt completely human and now...I am, undoubtedly, no longer one” he finished.
Her eyes widened at his words, it was as if he was reciting every painful word from his own novel. Before she had the time to realize it, a teardrop rolled down her cheek and a sob escaped her lips. He turned his eyes to find her clasping her hands over her mouth, eyes glistening with sorrow.
“I’m sorry, I-I’m so..s-sorry, I didn’t…” he cut her off by cupping both her cheeks in his hands and wiping her tear-streaked cheeks with his thumbs.
“Shed not your precious tears for this pitiful creature, who embraced his darkness unquestioningly. I am not someone who deserves such invaluable emotions, little bird”, he leaned down to leave a light kiss on her lips and press his forehead against hers. She curled her hands into fists and she quivered at every word he spoke.
“I won’t let you do this to yourself...not anymore”
She grasped his wrists and opened her eyes to stare right into his own before speaking up.
“You’re are right. You don’t”
He lost his breath as well as the ability to speak. Her words fell like a knife on his chest but before the pain had time to sink in she returned his kiss more passionately than ever. He couldn’t will himself to move and only stood there gobsmacked and stunned.
“You deserve so much more, Dazai. You have no idea, how much you deserve to be happy. So, I-I wish to show you. I want to try and make you understand how truly remarkable you are” she said in a soothing, sweet voice and proceeded to pepper his face with featherlight kisses. She let go of his wrists and embraced him tightly, nuzzling her face against his broad chest.
He was no longer colorblind. His world was filled with colors anew as he felt her warmth sip into him, filling him with life.
“Fine, little lady” he spoke, letting out a quivering breath. He brought his arm around her, locking her in a tight embrace before leaning down and kissing the top of her head. “You win”.
Koi No Yokan: “The feeling upon meeting someone that falling in love with them is inevitable.”
