i just think that extreme navel gazing about how Good you were during one of the most structured low-stakes parts of your life (read: high school and sometimes even college) is like. anathema to growing up.

an adult who has successfully moved into adult life - no matter what that looks like! - doesn't spend all their time being wistful over what has been lost in their mind. they're learning new things and talking to new people and continually growing and setting new goals for themselves, because that's what life is.

#this will immediately get interpreted in the most bad faith way possible #but fixating on high school is passe. sorry. you have a whole life to live!!!#stop getting lost in the labyrinth of juvenile experiences!!!#i feel this to an extent pretty heavily about people who seem to predominantly consume media about Being In High School and/or College #it's not inherently a bad setting persay but like. cmon yall
